Hair Apparent

Do gentlemen prefer blondes? Or does Mr. Gyllenhaal prefer brunettes or redheads? No worries, Austin seems to have all of his bases covered. From the straight blonde, to short brunette, to natural auburn curls. What's his best look?

  2. I really can't choose that easily - I love all of these looks on Austin. But since you chose one of my all-time favorite Austin photos for the brunette look, I'll have to go with brunette... and yet, those natural auburn curls are to die for.

  3. Good morning,

    Ohhhhh...his hair is beautiful . . .

thanks for playing one of my Blondie favorites.

My favorite look on Austin is in that sandy-haired, curly-headed, faded chambray shirt beach photo. I'm curious to see more of him as a peroxide blondie tho! ;)

Ten inches of snow here and more on the way this weekend - WooHoo! :)

  4. I actually like best the buzz cut Austin. There is an early pic of him posing beside a car looking very European.

Wanted to share this bad news...
Recently my family received an anonymous hand-written Christmas card that said our lifestyle was victimizing our children and gave the link to exodus international. This is an ex-gay ministry organization. Also this group and others are on a track about gay civil rights violating their religious freedoms because they will be forced to accept homosexuality. Mitt Romney spoke at one of their events here in Boston last year. So of course we are very paranoid about who might have sent it. Cowardly intimidation tactics. Actually makes me more determined.

  5. But since you chose one of my all-time favorite Austin photos for the brunette look,...

I second this BV. This is one of his sexiest pics IMO. So it's brunette for me too. And I love that sailor-like blue-striped sweater. And finally I prefer Austin with shorter hair. :)

Netb we're also expecting another snow storm up here. Our Christmas will definitely be White. :D

    Have a great day everybody.

Anonymous threats are the most despicable. Stand your ground Tinhat and check if others have received one too. Unity is strength in those cases. These guys probably have a list of targets. My thoughts are with you, if it can be of any comfort.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I too prefer Austin with shorter hair, and that picture of him in the sailor sweater is probably my favorite "posed" picture of him.

Tinhat that is awful. I know all about Exodus. I was just reading last night that the shooter in Colorado was an expelled member of a group that was associated with Exodus and that he having trouble dealing with his sexuality, and that he felt like Haggard had been forgiven for his trangressions but he hadn't. These groups do so much harm.

The only thing remotely like that to ever happen to me and my gf was that once someone left a note in our mailbox complaining because they'd seen us from their window kissing in our kitchen. It was polite though, not threatening, and I assumed it came from one of the many little old ladies that used to live in our building.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Tinhat, I'm so sorry to hear that - how awful. Religous organizations should not be doing these kinds of things, and it the exact opposite to everything they teach.

Pay no attention to small minds like that and stand fast. We've got your back here, if it's of any help to you and your family.

  9. It saddens me that people do those things under guise of the Lord's work. It is interesting that they take a loving caring and accepting figure and use Him to carry out what they feel is right. I have had this argument at church several times, and I remind those many times that in the NT he said come unto me ALL, who are weary - not some - it is not about exclusion but inclusion. Christianity is about love not hate.

I have family in KS, home of the infamous horrific Fred Phelps. When he was stirring it up past year of so, my younger cousins had t-shirts made that said Phuck Felps on it and stood out in counter protest to own of his diatribes of hate he had. Their mom, put one on and stood out their with them.

  10. On a happier note, wanted to say hello to Tom as I just read the following good news:

"New Jersey lawmakers have voted to abolish the death penalty in the state, sending the governor a bill he has already said he will sign. The measure will make New Jersey the first state in more than 40 years to outlaw capital punishment." :) :)

  11. Totally totally OT:
Saw this when I was checking the Boston Globe just now:

In the Gee, we must have missed it department…Reese Witherspoon and her kids along with Jake Gyllenhall (Brokeback Mountain) dined at Boudin at Fisherman’s Wharf this week. So we hear.

  14. Gotta love that so we hear added to it.

  15. I'm going to be a French-language pedant now and insist on blond and brunet for men :)

I have several favourite looks: the natural look of Tony Danza/Lakers 1, the buzz cut and the blond curls of Durango Kids, *before* they become Wimbledon dimension curls :) The little I've seen of the platinum fringe is pretty appealing too. Obsessed, me? :D

Tinhat et al, these sound like some scary, nasty people. :(

    ReplyDelete
  16. Just under the Fisherman's Wharf sighting is this comment-

A Celeb chimes in: “I wanna see that. Someone must have had a Cell Phone with them that had one of those cheap cameras installed.”

    ReplyDelete
  17. “Ah, my dear fellow,” exclaimed La Fontaine, “you are a shocking pedant!”

from "The Man in the Iron Mask" by Alexandre Dumas

    :o :D :D

  18. {{{tinhat)))

And Spesh, thanks for your inclusive words (11:01)--"Christianity is all about love, not hate." Working to make that a reality is every new generation's goal--just as, on the secular side, a passable hate crimes bill continues to be our aim.

OMG is a lot of fun, and Jake and Austin have been "fun obsessions" of mine for almost a year now. But the really important thing about this community to me is the way it tries to live out the dreams of equality and love.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Heh, I like the "Gee, we must have missed it department". :P

I'm still gonna take a "wait and see" approach, and wait it out. I bet we're going to get a lot of these non-definitive, no picture-to-accompany, and contradictory-from one-day-to-the-next "sightings", until it the faux sizzlie ultimately fizzles. lol But under the radar, the platinum blond and his gorgeous brunet will the ones heating things up. ;)

Spesh, I'm glad you included this as well. It's a shame that some religious groups themselves need reminding of this.

Tinhat, would you want to turn that in the the U.S. Post Office - it's a crime to use the U.S. Mail for unlawful means, which threatening and harassing people is. :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. gorgeous brunet will the ones heating things up. ;)

See London? Netb is already a convert. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. That is scary too Wicked because it is impossible to know if it is some kid randomly leaving a prank call, or someone targeting you because you're a lesbian couple.

I saw that article on fruit flies earlier in the week. Things like that also scare me because even if things are done in the name of science, there is always going to be someone who tries to misuse it. I am opposed to most genetic tinkering, because my feeling is that even it it has some kind of benefit, somewhere along the road there will be drawbacks.

On a lighter note, can someone explain to me how Jake is getting a movie made if he is spending all of his time in San Franciso? Maybe Austin is in New Mexico and Jake had his marching orders to clear out until he leaves. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Destiny do you really think Jake would clear out if Austin looking bigger buffer and blonder came knock knock knocking on his chamber door?
    ; )

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think that sighting if true is probably from a weekend ago. I doubt Reese's daughter, who is of school age, would be galivanting with her mother in SF on a school day. I think even the Jeese trolls (Hi def!!) know that.

Well, Jake is supposed to go to lunch today in NM with that person who won the auction to have lunch with him.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Destiny do you really think Jake would clear out if Austin looking bigger buffer and blonder came knock knock knocking on his chamber door?"

For the HUNDREDTH TIME, I'm STRAIGHT! Straight! I mean, haven't you seen me sucking face with my girl Reese all over the place the last few months? That's because we're in love. And we can't control ourselves when we're together. I mean, who introduced her to the pleasures of the mile high club? ME! I'm a hetero, babe but I am gay-friendly and support gay causes. And I do have gay godparents. And I live in LA. But I'm not gay and have never been.

Neither has Austin so lay off him!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Jakey don't get so worked up save it for the next time the paps have to "catch" you and Reese.

Now get back here mister you still have some making up for lost time to do.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Austin? Oh, so you're back...well...I'm straight now. Can't talk.

    ReplyDelete
  29. How said anything about talking? ; )

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wow, now that's great news. And they look so happy! Fantastic. I love the title of the pic "The Brave Ones." :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Listen, Austi. It's OVER! You hear me. OVER!!! You're nothing more than a memory in Jake's past. It's all about me and what I say goes!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Special, he probably got pulled in that door so fast he didn't know what hit him.

If Jodie really is doing this, do you suppose she thought about the younger generations and things like Reeke?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Funny that the Jodie sighting was at Il Sole, the same spot as a Reese's birthday gathering (I believe) with Jake, and spot where Jake alleged had a business dinner when we all know darn well he was in Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Maybe I should have added Texas to the end of that last sentence.

    ReplyDelete
  35. What's the thoughts on whether Jake was at ACL or not?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Give it up honey. All about you. - Give me a break. Go get a pair of shoes.

    ReplyDelete
  37. LOL, Destiny!

Fuzz, I think Jake was there.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OT, but Chase Crowford run back to ex-gf Carrie? Who knows anything about this guy, but Perez posted that stuff about him and Taylor Kitsch and a few days later ex-gf reappears pronto. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but sure makes you wonder...

    ReplyDelete
  39. ^^ It's Hollywood panicking as usual. God, I am sick of the closet.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Maybe I should have added Texas to the end of that last sentence.

Now that was a good one! :D

It's so great to see Jodie & Cydney officially out and about together. And if I'm not mistaken "Il Sole" is a rather popular place right? So this time they really wanted to be "seen together". Yeah!

Who knows anything about this guy, but Perez posted that stuff about him and Taylor Kitsch and a few days later ex-gf reappears pronto. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but sure makes you wonder...

These PR tactics have such a carbon-copy feel... As Spesh once remarked, there are no coincidences in HW. ;)

Just came back from downtown where I decided to treat myself to some early Christmas gifts: Jeff Buckley's "Grace" CD and Mary Renault's "Persian Boy". After reading only the first few pages I think it's safe to say that this one will be hard to put down. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. One of the things I love about this site - we've got frenchy rushing off to buy Mary Renault and me ordering the Scotland Yard Gospel folks for Christmas :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I like Austin in the middle pic the best. That's a great pic of him.

Has anyone seen the leaked trailer for the Dark Knight? What happened to super-mega cool voice of Mr Ledger? I was hoping the villain would have the well know baritone tone but sounds awfully different to me. And why does he look like Linda Blair in the Exorcist on a bad day?
Sorry, I am disappointed maybe it is just a bad trailer... :(

    ReplyDelete
  43. Jodie and Cydney are awesome.

Tinhat I am thinking about you.

Frenchy I heard the news about the death penalty also. My thoughts are so mixed on that topic. There is a man on death row in NJ who killed a beautiful innocent little girl.

I was thinking about Jake at work today. I would much rather see Jake out as a very proud gay man than as an str8 man that is now not looking very manly at all.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Tom, I don't understand what you mean by Jake not looking manly. I really don't.

    ReplyDelete
  45. manly? said...
Tom, I don't understand what you mean by Jake not looking manly. I really don't.

When I see Jake with Reese manly he looks like a sad little puppy dog not a man.

    ReplyDelete
  46. What are you talking about?? I worked my fu&*&g ass off for that movie. I transformed myself completely because the role demanded it.

You're a wanker. I KNOW I'm good in that movie (pouting).

    ReplyDelete
  47. Bootleg copy of the Dark Knight trailer. (Heath is amazing). Go check it out before the Warner Bros suits find out and yank it (like they did today on Youtube): http://rated-m.blogspot.com/2007/12/dark-knight-full-trailer-leaked.html

    ReplyDelete
  48. broadwayfan, it is gone. But apparently they will release an offical copy on Sunday. Thought I's give it another look since you say Heath is amazing and I found he was totally not.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I wouldnt say he doesn't look manly in the Jeese pics and videos; he looks a bit too "tamed" for some tastes possibly, the recent aerodynamics notwithstanding. In Austin pics and Kirsten pics, I don't see that. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks a multimillion BWF!

Heath looks and sounds absolutely awesome. I just can't wait to see this movie.

Zero, I think he absolutely had to abandon his sexy, low, deep voice for that role, particularly if his character is based on "The Killing Joke". Read that comics if you can find it.

I'm expecting this maniacal, hysterical character to fit Heath like a glove.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Wow! Now that's what I call good timing. I must have been among the very last ones to see it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. IHJ posted new/old pix of Jake and Kiki eating at an outdoor cafe. An interesting compare and contrast with Jeese.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Frenchy I suppose I am missing the context to understand the character thank you for the pointer.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sorry again the same story now on People:

Carrie Underwood Goes Clubbing with Chace Crawford

The reason I am following this is because it exactly exemplifies the PR tactics we have discussed so many times.

The Rome lovefest was so totally because of Ted's column a few days before. It had little to do with Rendition promotion. JMO.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wicked, so right. I find those pics with Kiki very beautiful. Jake looks restrained and definitely not that into it with Reese. It is like he is not giving her full attention, which of course I find understandable if the thing is not real. But the fangirls justify this by saying Jake and Reese appear more "mature" compared to Jake and Kiki. I say "mature' my a**. Sure one would wish to remain a teenager forever, then!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Frenchy I suppose I am missing the context to understand the character thank you for the pointer.

    You're welcome. :)

I can't wait to read what the OMG gang will think about this movie. I've got the feeling opinions might differ widely. I'm already pretty sure that some of the guys I usually go to the movies with will HATE that character with passion, lol!

I loved Heath in Terry Gilliam's "The Brothers Grimm", a a role which asked for an over-the-top rendition. That's why his Joker makes me salivate. :D

    ReplyDelete
  57. Heath is currently filming Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus.

  58. I so agree, Zero and Wicked. I thought the Jake and Kiki pics were beautiful and natural too. Becoming mature shouldn't mean giving up youthful enthusiasm for certain things. ;) Life is too short for that. I think the comparisons show even more that it's a fauxmance.

  59. Those pictures of Jake & Kiki were during the filming of Wimbledon.

  60. Fascinating how the machine works to dissemble even after death. (from Wikipedia, seems to have been edited by Power's family who deny all gay rumors0

    Post-death rumors

More than 20 years after Tyrone Power's death, Hector Arce cited anonymous sources to support his claim that Power was bisexual.[7] Up until that time, no claims to this effect had been made. In his 1994 autobiography Crying With Laughter, the British comedian and actor Bob Monkhouse claimed that he had rejected advances from Power. The fashion critic Mr. Blackwell, in his 1995 autobiography From Rags to Bitches claimed that he met Power when a young actor for "romantic moments in his dressing room and took long rides speeding down Sunset to Malibu". According to William J. Mann, in his book Behind the Screen: How Gays and Lesbians Shaped Hollywood, 1910-1969, Power was involved in homosexual relationships. In his book, The Evening Crowd at Kirmser's: A Gay Life in the 1940s, Ricardo J. Brown confirms that he had heard in New York that there were "a lot of queer people in the theater and the movies", among them Tyrone Power and Tallulah Bankhead. In Oops, I Lost My Sense of Humor, Lois M. Santalo writes that "many stars of the silver screen, dating back to Tyrone Power, had been gay". In Robert Aldrich and Garry Wotherspoon's (both of Sydney University) Who's Who in Contemporary Gay and Lesbian History: From World War II to the Present Day, Power is listed among the "Top box office stars who were gay or bisexual".

However, women with whom Power was married or had relationships have denied any knowledge of homosexual leanings. His second wife, Linda Christian, asserts that she and Power shared an intense love and described his love for other women.[8]Lana Turner, in her 1983 book The Lady The Legend The Truth, and Mai Zetterling, in All Those Tomorrows (1986) describe their two year long affairs with Power. Other women with whom he was involved include Sonja Henie, Judy Garland, Anita Ekberg and Mary Roblee, an editor. People who knew Power as a close friend have refuted the claims of bisexuality: Bob Buck, a pilot who served as Power's co-pilot on a trip to Europe and South Africa in 1947, in his autobiography North Star Over My Shoulder stated (in responding to rumors that he had read) "And while talking of Ty, I want to make this clear, and as loudly as I can: he was not a homosexual..." .[9] When asked about the subject on the Phil Donahue Show in 1982, Lana Turner said, "I can only say this, naturally I only heard about it after his death. I think some terrible person wrote a book, but all the time I knew him there was never a sign of it. Believe me he was all man." While appearing on behalf of Pfizer in 1985, Alice Faye said, "Well, we were all babies. We had a great time working together...I never saw any sign of any such thing." In On Sunset Boulevard by Ed Sikov [describing a trip that Billy Wilder took with Power and Charles Laughton] "Wilder saw no evidence of homosexuality in Power." William Martin, Tyrone's cousin and close boyhood friend, who also lived with Tyrone in Hollywood from 1936 to 1939, always maintained that such rumours were completely preposterous. "If Ty became bisexual, it happened after 1939," Martin said. [10] His daughter Romina states: "Tyrone Power was not gay or bi-sexual. It's too easy to make a fast buck off of someone who is not around anymore to tell the true story. It's interesting to see what people suppose about one's parent. But more interesting yet, is the truth."[11] Further references to Power's heterosexual relationships can be found in the following: Investigation Hollywood by Fred Otash, The Gift Horse by Hildegard Knef, Linda: My Own Story by Linda Christian, Lana: The Lady, the Legend, the Truth by Lana Turner, Whisper magazine, 1954, No More Tomorrows by Mai Zetterling, Debbie: My Life by Debbie Reynolds, People Will Talk by John Kobal and Queen of Ice, Queen of Shadows: The Unsuspected Life of Sonja Henie by Raymond Strait.

  61. Of the 3 pics, I like the hair in the middle best, but my most favorite is Lakers 1. They both looked gorgeous in those pics, one of which is my screensaver, so I see it every day. I am hoping to see a clear pic of the blond hair soon.

I liked the last Batman, and love Christian Bale, so plan on seeing the new one to see how Heath does. I was skeptical that he could pull it off, but after watching the trailer, I am impressed. Funny that not a word has been said about Maggie G though.

Still not sure what to make of these vague sightings of Reeke. Very obscure for a big city like SF. It's not tourist season, but still, camera phones are every where.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I saw People's Revenge of the Exes issue tonight at the grocery store and in the story there was a mention of Jeese and kids at Boudin at the Fisherman's Wharf. Sighting occured on 12/8 according to People.

  63. Heath is currently filming Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus.

    Heee-haaa!!!

About all those ghost sightings... I still think this is just a phase before the next series of pics start to emerge. If I was in charge of this bearding campaign I'd put the breaks on though; unless I wanted to make them look like total famewhores.

Wicked, what do you think about that "Revenge of the Exes" title? Me think it should be "Revenge of the Execs" in certain cases. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  64. "Revenge of the Execs"

With Evelyn's pic on the cover, maybe? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  65. "If Jodie really is doing this, do you suppose she thought about the younger generations and things like Reeke?"

Yes. It's all calculation for Foster.

  66. Never saw this posted before but back in October Jake had dinner in NYC with Chelsea Clinton

    ReplyDelete
  67. I know Jake knows Chelsea for a long time, but I have to say I would rather Jake dated Chelsea thatn Reese. Though she might not be the cutest girl on the block (well, Reese isn't either in my opinion) she seems more like the kind of brainy involved gal he would find interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  68. One thing jumped out at me in that sighting with Chelsea. The blogger says "They were not on a date, unless those other two guys at the table were Secret Service agents. " I guess that means the other two guys at the table were Jake and Chelsea's dates.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Just to say add that the middle photo is Austin has to be one of his best looks even. Simply divine.

However, looking forward to seeing more of the buffer, blonder Austin the Informers obviously has in store.
