On the rocks

Brothers, scheduled to have wrapped January 30th, is extended and filming until February 12th. With a pushed up December 8th release, Jim Sheridan will very busy editing over the next few months.

Today the shoot is taking place The Ice Rink at Los Alamos Canyons. Does this mean Jake on skates? Doubtful there's a lot of Ice Capades for the Toby fighting the Taliban. The gear alone would be a little tough for a double axle. (see Brother's Taliban below) Jake seems a little more aerodynamic, but the hood might be a bit of a problem though in a spin.

With the December release Jake will be busy doing PR late summer and fall for the release with a big push in November. It may be the first sitdown for Jake and interesting to see what will be on and off limits for discussion.

All kidding aside. Work during this time can be a positive thing. Not easy to do, but it is a chance to push away everything going on off the set and totally immerse himself in his role. A brief break and respite for a moment.

  1. Maybe Johnny Weir can help with those scenes at the ice rink!

  5. Now there's a way to start a Monday morning.

*That scene* is one of my favorites from Rendition, and a delight to the senses - from the colors, the music, the beautiful old architecture window, the wrought-iron chair and flower pots on the balcony, the items on the bedside table, and of course, Jake's architecture. Delish! Thanks, Rattler and Spesh!

  6. Oh Spesh, got a smile from the front page of the Boston Globe this morning - a big, huge, banner headline with the words "HISTORY DERAILED" re the Pats loss. ;)

  7. Would that be a Swedish Modern design?

  8. Love the song selection today. Needed something to cheer me up between Heath and now the Patriot's loss.

I did have a horrible thought last night while drifting off to sleep. I hope Jake is not waiting for the tox report to say something about Heath. That is, if he was illegal drug free, Jake will comment, but will stay silent if illegal drugs were found. That would be the height of spinelessness. I believe the results are due sometime this week. I think that is what is needed for closure.

  9. NEW GYLLENSPOON SIGHTING...(Very credible).

    http://kathrynlim.livejournal.com/28273.html

It seems that young Kathryn Lim was working as a caterer at the Heath Ledger Memorial service this past weekend.

Here's what she wrote regarding Jake:

"I was here...caterering the event and was feet away from Jake Gyllenhaal! I also saw Reese..."

In the comments section she elaborates:

"Reese smiled at me, I saw them (Reese and Jake) hugging and Kissing. I saw Jake and Reese hold hands. I was around them for like 2 hours."

I know what you are thinking and you guys are probably right. She's probably a plant or someone working for 360 Management.

After all, she's just moonlighting as a 20-year-old full-time college student working as a part-time caterer to throw people off from her real line of work of trying to spread Gyllenspoon misinformation to piss off the few dozen or so delusional types on this board.

    Here's her personal information:

There are no photos so I guess they forgot to tip off the media, hey? [Sarcasm off].

HEATH Ledger's family and A-list friends gathered to pay tribute the actor in a moving private service at a Hollywood studio yesterday.

Photos of Ledger -- spanning his childhood in Perth, his most iconic big-screen roles and his time as a doting dad to his daughter Matilda -- were beamed on a large screen at the Sony Pictures lot in a 90-minute service yesterday afternoon.

Ledger's father Kim, mother Sally and sister Kate were joined by a large contingent of family, who had travelled from Australia to attend the ceremony in Culver City, alongside the actor's Hollywood friends and colleagues.

One guest told News Limited that the ceremony, which he estimated was attended by about 1000 people, included touching - and often funny - speeches from Ledger's father, longtime agent, acting coach and director Todd Haynes, who helmed Ledger's most recent release I'm Not There.

``It was a very loving tribute - emotional and loving,'' the guest told News Limited.

``At times it was very sad and then there were some lighter moments.

``The service was a very simple, moving tribute from family and people who had worked with him.''

Ledger's father thanked guests and made special mention of the actor's former partner Michelle Williams and their two-year-old daughter Matilda - who he explained had both not attended the service.

Ledger's ex-girlfriend Naomi Watts - who wore a simple black outfit, dark sunglasses and a silver cross around her neck - appeared dazed following the 90-minute ceremony and was comforted by friends.

In a moving tribute, American musician Ben Harper performed a song he had written specially for the service to commemorate his close friend accompanied by a string quartet Security was heavy during the event, with police manning the main gate to the studio and a fleet of high-end security guards - sporting designer suits and hi-tech ear-pieces - scouring the perimeter of the building where the ceremony was held.

Among the stars spotted at the event were Oscar-winner Sean Penn and a posse of hip young Hollywood actors who moved in the same circles as the Perth-raised actor - including heart-throb Josh Hartnett and Ledger's Lords of Dogtown co-star Emile Hirsch, who both left the service in a car together.

Supermodels Gemma Ward, 20, and Lily Cole, 19, were also in the A-list crowd.

Ward, who was romantically linked to the actor after the pair were spotted spending time together in their hometown of Perth over Christmas, looked distressed as she was driven out of the studio gates.cole, a flame-haired beauty who is one of Britain's top catwalkers, had co-starred opposite the actor on the gruelling UK shoot for fantasy film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - which was Ledger's final unfinished film before he died on January 22.

Australian film bombshells Abbie Cornish, who starred opposite Ledger in gritty 2006 drug drama Candy, and Phone Booth star Radha Mitchell were also at the service.

Cornish, who donned a long black Edwardian-style coat over an ankle-grazing gypsy-style black skirt, looked morose as she exited in the back-seat of Ledger's luxury 4WD Lexis, with a minder covering the actress' face as paparazzi surged up against the vehicle.

Australian actress Portia De Rossi looked distraught as she and her US talk show host girlfriend Ellen Degeneres sped out of the service in a Porsche.

The couple, who sold Ledger and Williams their Hollywood Hills home in 2005 and had remained close to the couple, visited Williams and Ledger's family at a luxury Los Angeles hotel the day before the service.

Australian film-maker Gregor Jordan, who directed Ledger in 1999 Australian crime drama Two Hands and 2003 bushranger flop Ned Kelly, also attended the memorial alongside his fiancee Simone Kessell, a former girlfriend of Channel 7 heir Ryan Stokes.

Australian actor Simon Baker, who is married to Watts' best friend Rebecca Rigg, was also spotted leaving the service in a convoy of 4WDs which included the King Kong starlet.

Watts, 39, sat alone in the back of the car and appeared visibly distressed as she left the studio block, with her actor partner Liev Schreiber not spotted leaving the event.

While Williams did not attend the cermony, some of her closest friends attended, including her Dawson's Creek co-star James Van Der Beek and film star Mark Ruffalo, who is married to the 27-year-old actress' best friend Sunrise Coigney.

Hollywood star Shannyn Sossamon - who had remained close friends with Ledger since launching her acting career opposite him in 2001's A Knight's Tale - appeared distressed after the ceremony.

Swedish actor Peter Stormare, who stars in Prison Break and met Ledger when they starred in 2005 comedy The Brothers Grimm, also attended the service.

Other big names who were understood to have attended the service including Hollywood party girl Lindsay Lohan, Pirates of the Caribbean pin-up Orlando Bloom - who was Ledger's co-star in Australian independent film Ned Kelly - and British bombshell Sienna Miller - who played Ledger's lover in 2005 romantic comedy Casanova.

The gathering also included industry luminaries and people connected to top Hollywood agency CAA, which represented Ledger.

US website People.com said Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes, who are also managed by CAA, attended the service but they were not seen leaving the event and a guest said he had not spotted the Tinseltown power-couple.

The service came exactly a week after a select group of relatives and close friends including Williams and Watts - paid tribute to the 28-year-old actor at a private memorial at a small LA mortuary.

After yesterday's service, the Ledger family, who evaded waiting media by leaving through a side gate, returned to a luxurious hotel in Beverly Hills where they have been staying since flying into Los Angeles about a week ago.

They are expected to fly to Perth for Ledger's funeral - which is believed to be scheduled to take place this week on the grounds of his old school Guildford Grammar.

It is not clear whether Williams, 27, and Ledger's young daughter - who are based in New York - will be flying to Australia for the burial.

Paparazzi agencies were reportedly offering up to $US5000 for information about the location of the service.

One guest stopped his car and yelled at a large group of paparazzi waiting outside the studio's gate.

``Have a heart,'' the man screamed before speeding off.

Ledger's death has prompted intense interest from the international media, with his family choosing to have yesterday's ceremony behind the high walls of the secure studio block, away from prying eyes.

The final autopsy report, which will include the cause of death and the results of toxicity tests for drugs in Ledger's system, are expected to be released this week.

  13. Yeah, that sighting is credible. NOT.

And afterwards, she, Reese and Jake went out and bought donuts and hot cocoa together.

    Ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  14. She heard Jake cracking jokes at the memorial:

"...im talking 1 foot away. i heard him crack jokes. reese smiled at me..."

    http://kathrynlim.livejournal.com/28273.html

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hmmm. If her whole idea was to make Jake look good by saying he was at the memorial, she blew it when she said that he was cracking jokes.

But on the other hand she mentions her company: special events, and that Wolfgang Puck catered the memorial.

  17. So what?!?

Why would anyone believe that person?

    ReplyDelete
  18. NEW GYLLENSPOON SIGHTING...(Very credible).

I would hope not. The idea of Jake cracking jokes during Heath's memorial...

Even if you are the biggest Jeese fan in the world, would you really want to believe this?

    ReplyDelete
  19. My god even if its credible he and Reese sound like insensitive jerks. Using Heaths memorial as a love fest and stand-up comedy hour. Wonder if they did 'donuts' in the parking lot too.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jeff, if you substituted the name Austin for the name Reese in that sighting, most people here would NOT believe it. That's because most people here wouldn't believe that Jake would be such an insensitive ass. But you, obviously, are quite comfortable believing this. You'll believe anything that supports your Reeke agenda, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  21. FWIW I googled 'special events catering" and can't find a company with the name in LA.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The Herald Sun reporter gave us a run down of what Abbie Cornish was wearing, who departed with whom and in what, the quoted angry shout at the paps, dropped obscure names left and right, and with all this attention to detail, he/she just happened to miss seeing/mentioning any kind of catered meal (which seems, in the light of the Ledger family eating in a private room at a hotel right after the service, rather odd), or the most sought after for a statement because of the connection to the deceased person on the planet?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Spesh, yes, I'm a big fan of Swedish Modern architecture lately. ;)

That sighting is ridiculous and not credible AT ALL IMO. Nobody at a memorial service would be thinking about anyone but Heath. Being a comfort to each other, maybe, but obvious hugging, kissing, etc. NO WAY. And anyone can drop a famous name about catering an event. I'm sure if someone looks into it they'll find it isn't true.

Another interesting thing is that with all the reports about the various luminaries in attendance, none mention J&R except this little blog sighting. Would they have been left out? Doubtful.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Here's the entire comment from the sighter, my comments in bold-

no not with my mom, with this staffing company i work for called special events. we were hired by wolfgang puck catering. im talking 1 foot away. i heard him crack jokes. reese smiled at me, i saw them hugging and kissing. Very appropriate to kiss at a memorial> i saw jake and reese hold hands. i was around them for like 2 hrs too.

josh hartnett was right next to me at the bar when i was throwing something away. hes super tall.

i might see him at the academy awards too.

if this were 2 years a go, i would have exploded. but i maintained my cool and acted serious and professional. plus everyone was sad and pretty mopey.

    Except Jake and Reese?

i also saw that shannon girl from 40 days 40 nights. she dresses like a grandma.

    i saw radha mitchell.

i also talked a little bit with heaths mom. very sweet lady.

    You wish.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Back to the rink.

I hope they never try to do Donnie Darko on Ice. I mean would the flood scene aftermath include small skaters dressed as mice? But somehow I keep seeing some modern interpretation of the Lifeline continuum set to something from This Mortal Coil (oh that's bad). Although Cherita did have some moves and the ear muffs. And of course Smurfs on ice is a total no brainer.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Call me old-fashioned, but isn't it the height of bad taste to hug and kiss at a memorial service. If this sighting is real, Reese is obviously being a very bad influence on Jake as I thought he would have the decency and up-bringing to act in a more appropriate manner.

Next thing we'll be hearing that they nipped off for a quickie in the toilet.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't believe the caterer sighting, but wow Jake is notably absent from the mention of celebs at the LA memorial service.

I do think he could be waiting for the toxicology results to comment.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I am astounded that anyone who calls themselves a Jake fan would think Jake capable of the boorish behavior described in that sighting. If the sighter had said she had seen Jake and Reese at the memorial, both looking subdued, I could have gone along with it. But this...I think somebody wants some attention.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Special, why do you think Belicheck and Brady stormed off the field like that without congratulating the Giants? I thought that was the height of poor sportsmanship?

Back to this sighting, it's even more dubious than before. I rank this with the skipping/jumping one. I don't know why these Jeese fans feel a need to invent crap like this especially because they make Jake look so bad when it comes to mourning Heath.

For the record, I don't think he was there. I really don't (and I'm not making a judgment here against Jake). The Australian papers have a virtual who's who in terms of who attended the memorial and Jake's not on that list. You think if he were there with Reese, he wouldn't be on that list? Come on. Dream on. They also said Tom Cruise did not go; they have people who were there and didn't see him either. They didn't understand why Cruise was listed as being one of the attendees.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wicked, I agree with you. And the fact that the person is a Jake fanatic says a lot. But why would she want to create a bogus sighting where Jake's behavior is so disrespectful to Heath? I guess this person must be very young and very stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wait...the sighting didn't mention how tiny Reese is, how classy Reese is, how good a mother Reese is? Sheesh, folks are slipping.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Was the Sony studio lot Mrmorial on Saturday or Sunday afternoon? Reese pics are on X17 site shopping with Ava on Sat afternoon.

Don't know if credible but I read somewhere on Saturday Cruise and Holmes went to the memorial and went to Joans on 3rd to eat afterwards. If they were at the memorial you'd think they'd stay and smooze with others during the lunch, right?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Naomi, Abbie, Portia and Ellen, Shannyn Sossamon were all visibly distraught and upset during and after the memorial service.

And then there's Jake and Reese, smiling, cracking jokes and snogging for the wait staff.

    Who's classy again?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Accroding to the Herald Sun article, the memorial service was held Saturday afternoon, February 2nd.

    ReplyDelete
  35. ^^It's just so ridiculous - the more stories we hear, the less believable the entire thing becomes. Keep up the good work! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Classy and invisible. No one saw them drive in, drive out or at the emeorial.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Teal, the memorial was on Saturday afternoon.

The sighting is bogus. This Jeese fan is...stupid and begging for attention.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Heath's Memorial = Reeke's Immorial

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks for the Sat info oad and bwf. I'm hoping the bloggers comments were taken out of context (kiss as in quick peck, jokes as in something cute about Heath) but with no listing of them in any reports it seems wierd.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The memorial took place on Saturday, Feb. 2nd around noon according to the tabs.

I don't think Jake attended this memorial nor the one last week either IMO.

This blogger perhaps is trying to make Jake look "good" by saying he attended, she seems to be be aware of his online fandom's dissapointment.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Teal: X17 doesn't say the pictures are from Saturday, they just say that they were from over the weekend, no day given.

Also someone posted that the pics are from last year, who knows. The memorial was on a Saturday at noon.

    ReplyDelete
  42. With all that's happened in the past few weeks it would proabably be nice if Jake's break between finishing Brothers and starting a new film is quite long. Hopefully he'll be able to have a really good, long holiday well away from the demon live journal(ists) (what's with these people) and mull over where his life and career are going. (probably best to avoid anywhere close to SF where anyone famous can't seem to fart without at least twelve people writing writing about it on their blog).

Does anyone know when the Moon film is starting, or has it been shelved due to the writer's strike.

    ReplyDelete
  43. If blogger is true Reese was prolly the initiator of the kissing and hugging, remember Abbie Cornish was there, Ryans new lady. And if true Jake should be ashamed of Reese using him as a pawn. he needs to be wary of Reese. I never liked her, always thought she was phony. had twisted motivations and dubious character. And now with Jake I'm more convinced.

    ReplyDelete
  44. ? Pop Sugar has the Reese running errands story as Saturday afternoon. I dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Meg is SF San francisco or santa Fe??

    ReplyDelete
  46. Teal: Popsugar just said that she had a coffee run and picked up some dry cleaning on a Saturday, they didn't say afternoon.

If one chooses to believe the blogger ( I don't) then the coffee run and the picking up at the cleaners was in the AM, dry cleaning: what she was going to wear at the memorial perhaps? It was at noon. Whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  47. ?, I wouldn't think x17 would post year old pictures.

If you look closely at the LJ for the sighter, you will see she is very young and a big Jake fan. Also, a friend of hers saw Jake a couple years ago and the sighter said she desperately wanted to see Jake too.

Again, if the sighting said that Jake and Reese were there looking somber, I might have been able to believe it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Maybe Jake's (and Reese's) star status has fallen so far down that he isn't worth a mention anymore by legitimite sources.

Reese sure did a number on him. Just like she did with Ryan.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Question Mark- this is what Popsugar said,

Reese Witherspoon ran some errands around LA on Saturday with the help of her mini-me, Ava.

I think they're referring to the Saturday that just passed, not a random Saturday from years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  50. These were posted on Popsugar as well so they are not from last year, although X17online has done so in the past.

Popsugar says that she was running errands on a Saturday, no time given but by assumption is that it was in the morning.

Tha said, I doubt that either was there becsuse that memorial service was put together by CAA, Jake and Reese are both rep. by them. I would think that they would have been on that list.

If she did make it up, then it was foolish of her to list her job and mention Wolfgang Puck.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Almost 50 comments on a clearly fake blog sighting. You can bet your behind that if Reeke was at the memorial pr would have gotten the word out, especially since the story ran in People.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Very possible the LJ girl worked the event but wanted to impress her friend and said she saw Jake and Reese there, describing them almost to the exact words she's used to seeing (hugging, kissing, holding hands), totally clueless that her little entry would be discussed and disected here and god knows on what other sites. lol

    ReplyDelete
  53. 55 post and only 10 not about the damn sighting. 10! 45 post about SSDD.

Well here's #11. Jake looks hot in that scene. Probably not far from the truth except his brunette is taller and doesn't gets calls from his Grandma that early.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I left the first 2 comments one about ice skating the 2nd about the video. Everyone else needs to catch up.

picturing Jake ice skating: he'd prolly be hanging onto the side rails for dear life and wearing a big pillow on his rump.

  55. I want to know why Brothers is filming at an ice rink. I haven't read the book. Does anyone who has have any guesses?

    ReplyDelete
  56. I havent either Wicked. My boring brain side comes up with a scene where Brother 1 confronts Brother 2 taking the children/wife ice skating? Or Brother whoever works at the rink? My horny brain section comes up with Jake having a hot hot full frontal pumping and panting sex scene on top of the Zamboni. Wishful thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Tha said, I doubt that either was there becsuse that memorial service was put together by CAA, Jake and Reese are both rep. by them. I would think that they would have been on that list."

    ReplyDelete
  60. Spesh that was funny!!!! Flat buns.lol

    ReplyDelete
  61. You people are mentally challenged. Funny, but mentally challenged.

Question: why would a twenty-year-old caterer lie on her livejournal account?

Why would that dogwalker lie about seeing Reese walking his dog? Why would that aquarium worker lie about seeing him with her and her kids at San Fransisco that San Fransisco Aquarium a couple of months back?

You believe every ridiulous thing that Ted Casablanca says and deny all the obvious ones. BTW, it's been nine months and four days since the last Jake-Austin sighting.

You people were fooled by Ted Casablanca and can't admit it. Too funny.

But what I find funniest is how worked up you guys get whenever there is a new credible sighting of Jake and Reese together. The more nonsensical you guys become, the more credible the sighting, lol. It's actually amusing for me.

    Must finish lunch.

It would have, if you hadn't posted it here first! Maybe you should make up another fake sighting and post it somewhere. Then we could see how long it takes to get picked up, who believes it, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  63. BTW, it's been nine months and four days since the last Jake-Austin sighting.

Didn't know that, Jeff. Of course, you did.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I like how Jeff believes any sighting that puts Jake and Reese together, no matter how bad it may make either of them look. Even some other of the other Babblets are questioning this one. I bet we could make up a sighting he would believe if we tried.

    ReplyDelete
  67. LOL!! I think x17online has been busted. Someone swears that the store Reese and Ava are coming out of in Brentwood is closed and these pics are actually from a set in '06 shortly after she announced her split from Ryan. Don't know if it's true but Ava does look a bit different than she does now and Popsugar just linked to the pics and just added that it was a Saturday and that she was picking up dry cleaning and coffee because that was what she was carrying, it could have been the middle of the week.

Don't know why X17online would mislead but they just posted some pics of Ryan from 1/31 of him sking with some guys, and then a pic of Abby and Deacon, seperate. Her head is down and she is walking with Deacon holding his wrist. I guess they wanted to spin that they split the kids: Ryan, Abbie, Deacon-Reese/Ava/Jake even though Jake isn't pictured. So much for Ryan and Abby cooling down. And I assume that Abby returned to LA for the Saturday memorial service since she was listed as attending.

And before anyone says why would X17 do that? Well didn't they post pics of Jake and Reese either driving from her home in Brentwood or driving to his parents? They couldn't figure that out. And the Orlando/Jake at the dinerwhere they clearly weren't dining togehter but jsu happened to be at the same place

    ReplyDelete
  68. Jeff is funny, he's a convinced Jeeser yet something still bothers him :D

Ew, hope the sighting isn't true because if it is that's way tacky behaviour. However, I also think Jake and Reese would have made it onto the officially seen list. Jake because he was the BBM co-star and Reese because she's just so damn important.

  88. Good for Austin (yes it is very shot), nice to see him supporting Obama, not that you'd ever doubt that he wouldn't be.

On another topic, the Keystone cops aspect of Reeke pr just continues to get more ridiculous doesn't it. I thought that Reese was meant to be very pr savvy, obviously not.

    ReplyDelete
  89. From a PR standpoint, if Jake and Reese were at Heath's memorial, it is in their best interests to make that known. It makes both look good and hurts no one. Just saying they were there does not intrude on their privacy. And yet we've heard from sources a list of who was there with no credible mention of either Jake or Reese. I just can't buy that either one of them was at that memorial. If they were, why not just say so?

    ReplyDelete
  90. "Austin supports Obama??? Oooo there must be some heated debates going on in the Jake/Austin household as Jake is a Clintonite!"

LOL! TINFE, this is exactly what crossed my mind when I clicked on BV's link. :D

This clip is so much better than the smearing ads and the cheap soundbites! Even the song sounds good. Thanks so much BV for that link and to Hjulia for the screencaps (which I will check later tonight). Special, I will give Youtube another try this evening. I've changed my PC settings so maybe it'll work this time.

I see poor Jeff is still hanging around. Trolltown must be such a drab place and its inhabitants such a boring lot for him to constantly hang around here. Well, OMG is an equal-opportunity blog, and we're happy if we can help lighten the awful burden you apparently have to bear each day.

  98. New Ted

Let's start with the question everyone has had here at OMG.

    Dear Ted:
Why hasn’t Jake Gyllenhaal made any comments about Heath Ledger’s death? Were they not friends?
    Glenda
    Tempe, Arizona

    Dear Brokenhearted Mountain:
Just the opposite—Jake is li'l Matilda’s godfather. Could you come up with a pitch-perfect press release, pronto, to honor one of your best buds? Give J.G. some time.

    Dear Ted:
I agree with you on the Heath Ledger thing. My heart aches for his family and friends that he left behind, yet I feel worse for Michelle and their daughter. My fiancé, too, had a drug problem, and I left him to raise our son on my own. My fiancé was dead three years later from never getting the help he needed. My son will never know his father, nor will Matilda ever know hers. It's too tragic.
    Kitty
    Scottsdale, Arizona

    Dear Just Say No:
Hang in there, Kitty. And at least Matilda’s got a strong support system, including do-gooder godfather, Jake Gyllenhaal. Might confuse the hell out of her when she’s old enough to watch Brokeback Mountain, though.

    Dear Ted:
I think it is absolutely disgusting that Jake G. is out with Reese at a time like this. Does he have no shame left? It is like he is using Heath's death to promote this fauxmance.
    S.
    New York City

    Dear Tough Take:
Boy basically kept himself in hiding (on-set of his in-production flick) for a week following the news of his departed friend. How long do ya wanna box in Jakey-Poo’s mourning mug? The show—and life—must go on eventually.

    The Main Article:

    Weaving Woe
Kirsten Dunst's reps are busy putting out the message that their client’s “all right,” despite K.D. having raised many an eyebrow in Sundance with unusual behavior—which those fab Page Sixers reported last week.
Define all right. Is this all right, as in Brit Spears’ 'rents are getting through their dramadey all right, or is this more along the level of Reese and Jake are handling the press poking round their coffee clutches all right?

'm told it’s more the former. “She’s never really been the same since she broke up with Jake,” pooped a close Dunst hanger-on. “Never.” Wonder why, Jakey-babe? What’d you do to that gal, huh?

Also interesting to note K.D., who’s obvs one of the hottest gal stars in her age and movie range—thanks both to the Spider-Man franchise and Oscar-worthy appeal in flicks such as Marie Antoinette—hasn’t really made the same number of movies other actors at her burgeoning phase usually have.

Basically, Kirsten’s made one film since Antoinette, already two years old. Nicole Kidman, when she was Dunst’s age, made a movie every damn time she took a leak.

Kirsten, you just a diff type of career gal, or is something, uh...up? (‘Cause I hear there is.)

  100. Yea Ted has alot about Jake this time but he doesn't really say anything. Are there hidden things that I dont see?

    ReplyDelete
  101. What I think Ted is saying-

Heath and Jake were friends. Jake is grieving. He doesn't know what to say and wants to say the right thing. Give him time to say something.

Jake will be there (and probably already has been there) for Mathilda and Michelle.

    Jeese is still a showmance.

Kiki's back on drugs (I really hope this is not true!).

You mean good friends always (until Heath died) or used to be friends ??

    ReplyDelete
  104. Ted: 'Could you come up with a pitch-perfect press release, pronto, to honor one of your best buds? Give J.G. some time.'

Wicked: 'He doesn't know what to say and wants to say the right thing. Give him time to say something.'

How much time? Four fuckin years???

    ReplyDelete
  105. I think Ted is saying that Heath and Jake were still close friends right up until the time of Heath's untimely death - and that Jake is understandably devastated and will say something when the time is right for him. He was in NM at the time as well. Jake is honorable and will be there for Michelle and Matilda.

Ted alludes to something causing the breakup (J&A perhaps?) when he asks what it was that Jake could have possibly "done" to Kirsten that she's never been the same since.

Jeese is not only a showmance but the "show" will go on, at least for awhile - see plays on words referrign to pap pics of kaffeklatches and morning mugs.

Kiki has an ongoing "problem." I also hope this isn't true and someone helps her.

So, Jake wasn't in LA at all that week? Only returned to walk Reeke in the park on Sunday? (or could those pics, too, be from another date, like the Reese and Ava pics?)

    ReplyDelete
  107. ^^That's what I'm thinkin' . . . pics from another time . . . not that farfetched, really.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Extrapolating further on the pre-dated pics possibility, PR decided to release them in the midst of the Heath's tragic death aftermath, thinking that they would make their clients look good by appearing to be unfeeling and callous?

Remind me again what Jake pays 360 for?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Just speculation - they could have had these pics on file - and as far as Jake looking "hang dog" and miserable, who the hell can tell the difference lately what's causing it? They probably thought that it would look like Reese was being supportive and there for him - but of course, we all know that public perception of anything J&R-related are about as predictable and unstable as nitroglycerin, and just as explosive - it blew up, again, in PR's faces. Then again, maybe that is predictable. Jake's wasting his money, fer sure.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Ya' know, the Reekers now have a conundrum on their hands, thanks to tonight's column. They have always shouted, long AND loud, that all Ted says about Jake is lies, lies and more lies. He doesn't have sources, and he's pandering only to the TBers wishes.

Ted painted a very positive picture of Jake tonight. Said he was grieving heavily and in isolation on set, had been in contact with Michelle, would be there for Matilda, and wanted to say exactly the right thing to honor his good friend, Heath.

So, to use Reeking logic, Jake isn't any of those things, and all those sightings of Jake smiling and holding hands and kissing and cracking jokes and generally walking all over Heath's memory must be true.

But, that means that Jake is a prick, and all the haters at there in cyberspace creaming for his head are justified.

But, Jake is perfect and never does anything wrong.

But, Ted the boozing liar said that very same thing.

    But...but...but...

Hear that sound? Reeking heads are exploding.

  123. Someone got a hold of Ted, read his column again. All the People talking points spun in tedspeak.

Basically: means that he was there on set but not all the time, fits in with the People time frame, giving him a free pass for hanging with Reese, snarky but still. The Matilda reference sounds like something that was picked off from a blog.

He was real nasty when Heath passed way and i'm sure he heard it. There is nothing he wrote tonight that Jake and Reese's PR wouldn't have signed off on except the show remark, other than that, it's almost like someone else wrote it. I didn't know that Cristina defected.

  129. He's certainly not. He's saying that it's a showmance, and not even contesting that.

    ReplyDelete
  130. SpecialK: There are far more interesting fauxmances in HW, the press could give a rats as about exposing those two, now Clooney on the other hand would be more interesting but that ain't happening either. Ted would never go there of course.

I still say Jake wasn't on set that week at all but if he was it was only Monday and Tuesday maybe and I suspect he hasn't been back since.

His column reads like a combination of PR Spin and blind fangirl spewing all cherry picked from the pages of People, Us and blogs like Popsugar, TMZ, x17online and flynet.

Believe it or not Lainey has got it right: she hasn't mentioned Heath's death at all, nothing. Just a mention of the "news yesterday" and linked to her BI on Heath. Nothing on Michele, Jake, etc. If you don't have anything nice to say....

    ReplyDelete
  131. His column reads like a combination of PR Spin and blind fangirl spewing all cherry picked from the pages of People, Us and blogs like Popsugar, TMZ, x17online and flynet.

Yeah, but . . . I thought Flynet, X17 and TMZ only print the truth? It's Flynet, for cryin' out loud! The repository for Reeke pics! So does this mean that they make up crap too? And what could fangirls possibly find to spew about in Ted's column tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  132. I hate to keep harping on this but way too much time has passed for Jake to not comment. His mom is a screenwriter and his dad is good with words as well.Surely they can help him come up with something to say. Especially if it turns out that he was at the memorial and was joking around.

I do think Ted has always had a soft spot for Jake and wants him to come out so he can live a happy life. Ted did not back down from calling it a showmance. Ted says "the show must go on". Both Reese and Jake are looking really bad in this situation.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  135. I don't believe that Jake would joke around at a memorial service for a second. There's no way he could have been at one of the memorial services without it being reported on either, I don't think. I also think that he's delaying making a statement for a reason, and that one is coming. He's certainly not obligated to make one, but there's no way he wouldn't, for Heath. Initially, I'm sure he was too distraught.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I have probably a "different" way of viewing these things. Other people I'm sure see it in their own way too. When a dear friend or loved one passes on, I see a funeral and saying a few words as giving that person a proper send-off for a journey. You can go with them to the airport, bus stop, or train station and see that they get there safely, but there's a point where you can go no further with them. I like to see that they get to where they're going safely.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Well, Rattler.

Some things just leave you speechless ;)

    1. Please do not tar Kathy Bates' good name by linking her with Reese Witherspoon's mother (Jeff). Call him/her by the character name if you must

    2. Although I prefer Hillary (and can't vote anyway) I say Yay for Austin for backing Obama

    3. Jake said around the time of Rendition interviews that he was stuck between Obama and Clinton.
3a. Jake probably has to support whomever Reese is supporting now anyway
3b. Reese could be supporting Huckabee for all we know

    4. The line 'Reese smiled at me' should have been the first clue that the sighting wasn't real.
Reese does not smile. She smirks. And she certainly wouldn't smile at a young female, particularly if they are pretty (not sure if blogger is).

    5. I watched some of your superbowl just to see Tom Brady in tights (heh). Boy does he look like our Austin

    6. I understand American football not at all but it was still fun to watch

    7. Why are Twicked in hiding? Or have they broken up?

Jake Rep 1: Okay so we finally got Jake's name out there as being at the memorial service

Jake Rep 2: Why is it on some obscure blog?

JR1: People mag wanted too much money to mention them. I think they are miffed that we give everything to Flynet first.

JR2: They are so arrogant. How dare they?

Lackey: Um, don't you think it's a problem that the 'blogger' said that Jake and Reese were snogging up a storm?

JR1: Oh my God. That is so like cute. They are such a dream couple

Lackey: Um, it was a memorial service.

JR1: Is that a cute name for a premiere?

Lackey (stunned): It's for when someone dies, you know to say goodbye

    JR1: Oh.

Lackëy: Yeah and he was cracking jokes too

    JR1: About the dead guy?

Lackey: Um I think it was a Brokeback Mountain joke

    JR2: Was it offensive?
JR1: Are PETA going to come after us?
Lackey: PETA? That's for the ethical treatment of animals (looks stunned for several minutes)

JR2: Alright let's get on with the important stuff. What's everyone saying on the internet?
Lackeÿ: Well Perez is sticking by Gyllenspoon with the occasional jokes about Gyllenho just to make it look like he's not on the payroll
JR1 (staring dreamily): Perez is so intelligent
Lackey: Just Jared is doing everything we ask him to and Lainey seems to have forgotten that Gyllenspoon exist
JR2: That bitch. Have we stopped paying her?

JR1: Come on. You know what I'm really asking. What's Casablanca saying?
Lackey: Well he said he thinks Jake has a really bright future as an actor
    JR1: Deny it
    Lackey: What?
JR1: Issue a denial right away. Get it out this afternoon
    Lackey: Um?
JR1: Better yet. Get US Weekly on the phone. Do a cover story. 'How did this guy ever get nominated for an Oscar?'
Lackey: He's our client. Are you sure?
JR1: If Ted said it, we must discredit it.
That way, if he was wrong about this, the fans will know he was wrong about everything.
Lackey: But he isn't wrong. He...
    JR1: You're fired

Have you not been to a memorial service? The whole point of the service is to remember the persons life and celebrate it. It wasn't a burial, it wasn't a wake, it was a memorial. Most memorials are BitterSweet, extreme saddness mixed with touching and funny stories about the memory of somebody close to you. It's a time to remember this person, to share stories and fond times.
I'm sure the person removed the story and the link because such a big deal was made of it, because of all the hits she got. I also would not doubt that she was approached by a tabloid. This was a private party and keeping the information out of the public is required by the host who hires you.
The last thing Wolfgang's company wants is for people they hire to start giving up private information on the internet.
