Watched Priscilla last night. I was a bit disappointed that the only special features on the DVD were the theatrical and teaser trailers. Bummer.
Checking with the Lawman, I agree with you that if Ted did out Jake, Jake would ignore it. I also think Jake would ratchet up the bearding even more. I don't think Ted would do would out him anyway, not because he's afraid of a lawsuit, but because it's a violation of the Hollywood rules. I think Ted would find himself frozen out of the business if he outed anybody, even if he had conclusive proof.
If Ted has pictures, he could easily sell them and not be the one to out Jake at all. I'm sure someone out there would be willing to post the pictures (if there are any) and out Jake. So Ted's threat is not completely empty.
Just to answer Wicked's question about Ted and lawsuits, here goes with my short primer on defamation.
First, the plaintiff, i.e, Jake, would have the burden of proving the following:
1. That what was said about him was defamatory, i.e., that it exposed him to public hatred, contempt, ridicule or disgrace.
2. That the statement at issue referred to the plaintiff.
3. That it was "published"--i.e., that the statement was conveyed to at least one other peson.
These first 3 elements only have to be proven by the preponderance of the evidence, that is, that the greater amount of the evidence supports those elements.
However, because Jake is a public figure, the next two elements below have to be proven by a "clear and convincing" standard, which means a high degree of probability. Think of the first as 51% of the evidence, while the latter is more like 75-80% certainty (not that courts ever put numbers on it like that). Those elements are:
4. Clear and convincing evidence that the statement was false.
5. Clear and convincing evidence that the person making the statement KNEW that the statement was false or made it with a reckless disregard as to the truth or falsity of the matter.
So, in short, Jake would have to prove that the statements were false (quite different that Ted having to prove they are true) and prove malice--i.e., that Ted knew it was false or was reckless (not just negligent) about the truth.
Finally, the plaintiff would have to prove that he was damaged as a result.
Bottom line? Suing would just bring more attention to the whole thing, and the burden would be on on Jake to prove it's false and that Ted knew it was false. And faking a relationship for the press is one thing, getting up on the witness stand and perjuring yourself is another.

Ted dissapeared during that time "traveling" according to his intern, a "bad back" according to him. When the dust had settled and the whole thing blew up in Jaxsons face, Ted returned and made some comment about TT about to be outed by some tadbloid(NE).
Nothing happened with that,JJ made another attempt with the baby tile crap and it was ignored.
IMO, ted already did that and look what happen and MK from d-list and Ent lawyer ain't going there, snide, homophobic remarks aside, they will not do wahtt JJ tried to do on behalf of Ted.
There's no connection between Ted and JJ. JJ on the other hand accused Perez of promising to help him with his blog and then not doing so, and accused Perez of posting a sex tape JJ gave him on YouTube. Perez is clearly on the PR payroll in one way or another, and JJ probably turned out to be too much of a loose cannon pointing straight back at Perez.
JJ claimed that someone told him that Perez had a pic of Jake and his BF leaving the hospital in L.A., supposedly the Mommy had just given birth, this was around October. He said that he called Perez and asked if he had the picture, and Perez said that it was a lie, he didn't. JJ posted the story anyway and when it didn't generate the interest like his previous story he declared that he heard that Jake used ti be at least BI and that he was a good looking actor and that he had it with this and wasn't going to post about him anymore.
He also bragged that he was going to move to Manhattan and I don't think he did and then he was going to close his blog, which I don't think he did.
The Perez/JJ feud came after that, regarding the leaked tape. I also think that Perez used JJ to help discredit a certain gossip columnist. The baby tile thing turned a lot of bloggers off finally, saying Ted was a joke and writing fan fic.
Just my speculation, but there was something weird about that and then silence, JJ may have done it for publicity but there was more there.
Perez was probably brought into the fold to discredit the Toothy saga. He fed JJ a load of bull, JJ published it, and the fact that it was totally false made many people doubt the TT BI entirely. Just look back at all the times this is brought up as evidence that the whole thing is BS.
Constantly there are posts berating The "Tedheads" who are the only ones who believe the TT saga which is complete fiction (insert Baby Tile argument here) blah blah blah.
Brilliant PR move IMO. Perez was the perfect insider to have do the deed and he'll continue to shill for Reeke, call Ryan and Abbie whores and everyone will assume that he is just expressing his own independant thoughts.
Did someone ask how these people get paid? "Ad space" is the answer you'll get if you ask but ad space doesn't get you real estate in LA. It would barely pay the rent their parents use to charge them to live in their basements.

It is been alleged that Jake Gyllenhaal and his long time secret partner Austin Nichols, allegedly, became parents of a baby boy last Wednesday night through a planned cesarean via a surrogate. The baby was born at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Hollywood, CA. While Jake is off jet setting promoting his current film, Austin is said to be at home with a nanny tending to the new born allegedly.... .... The 'source' and supposed 'friend' of Jake's sent me the email to continue by stating Perez Hilton had purchased a photo of them leaving the hospital but has yet to post it.
I wanted to let you know here first, before you read it in the press, that I have fired my attorney's in the case Mario Lavandeira has against me.
It was simply to costly and I couldn't afford it. So does this mean he wins? Possibly, but I will fight the best way I know on my own unless I am capable of retaining another attorney prior.
A recent story summed up the case the best and hopefully justice will be served in this silly thing. He has tons of money, but that shouldn't equal justice for wrong doing.

Hey "tr", If dumb JJ was fed a bunch of old recycled TT BI's back in Aug. as you and some think, then JJ lied when he said that someone that worked with Jake sent him that info. A gossip blogger that lies!! What next! And for the record it was all TT BI's, he only added the date of the birth of baby TT, and the hospital the baby was supposedly born. Also he added the name of the place where TT and his BF were "warned" about fooling around in a car, but the rest was all Ted, are you saying that all the TT BI's are made up?
"tr" you have been around the gossip blogs for awhile, you didn't think it strange that JJ didn't know that most think TT is Jake? Becasue that was what he claimed.
And for the record, Perez isn't the only blogger calling Ryan and Abbie whores.
No one needs to discredit Ted and TT, he did on his own. He still has his "readers" but the numbers have clearly diminished.
I am very sorry that I posted such a long post. If people could just be honest, it would be so much easier! If Jake is with Reese, why not just say so? I will always think that Jake has love in his heart for Austin. I just think this is such a mess! It is awesome that ent lawyer posted Ted's BI last night. I wish MK would pick it up. It seems that even when people are outed like Wentworth and Jake it doesn't ever make the mainstream unless the person makes it offical. Well clearly Jake is still concerned enough about Ted to rearrange his life. I have been around long enough to know which information sources are teamed up and which ones are floating and who has been bought outright.

Most of the time they were set up given what appear to be tips by credible sources who were actually trying to pull strings for a client and turn public opinion one way or the other. At the time I thought that it was a "fan" pretending to be an insider and fed him that "info" and Jaxson was just dumb, well Jaxson still is dumb but i now wonder if it was Ted that fed him that info? Not many blogs mention Ted and TT anymore, ent lawyer is rare so why wouldn't he have someone else do his dirty work?
Ted dissapeared during that time "traveling" according to his intern, a "bad back" according to him. When the dust had settled and the whole thing blew up in Jaxsons face, Ted returned and made some comment about TT about to be outed by some tadbloid(NE).
Nothing happened with that,JJ made another attempt with the baby tile crap and it was ignored.
IMO, ted already did that and look what happen and MK from d-list and Ent lawyer ain't going there, snide, homophobic remarks aside, they will not do wahtt JJ tried to do on behalf of Ted.

There's no connection between Ted and JJ. JJ on the other hand accused Perez of promising to help him with his blog and then not doing so, and accused Perez of posting a sex tape JJ gave him on YouTube. Perez is clearly on the PR payroll in one way or another, and JJ probably turned out to be too much of a loose cannon pointing straight back at Perez.
ReplyDeleteJJ claimed that someone told him that Perez had a pic of Jake and his BF leaving the hospital in L.A., supposedly the Mommy had just given birth, this was around October. He said that he called Perez and asked if he had the picture, and Perez said that it was a lie, he didn't. JJ posted the story anyway and when it didn't generate the interest like his previous story he declared that he heard that Jake used ti be at least BI and that he was a good looking actor and that he had it with this and wasn't going to post about him anymore.

The Perez/JJ feud came after that, regarding the leaked tape. I also think that Perez used JJ to help discredit a certain gossip columnist. The baby tile thing turned a lot of bloggers off finally, saying Ted was a joke and writing fan fic.
Just my speculation, but there was something weird about that and then silence, JJ may have done it for publicity but there was more there.
Perez was probably brought into the fold to discredit the Toothy saga. He fed JJ a load of bull, JJ published it, and the fact that it was totally false made many people doubt the TT BI entirely. Just look back at all the times this is brought up as evidence that the whole thing is BS.

Did someone ask how these people get paid? "Ad space" is the answer you'll get if you ask but ad space doesn't get you real estate in LA. It would barely pay the rent their parents use to charge them to live in their basements.

Hey "tr", If dumb JJ was fed a bunch of old recycled TT BI's back in Aug. as you and some think, then JJ lied when he said that someone that worked with Jake sent him that info. A gossip blogger that lies!! What next! And for the record it was all TT BI's, he only added the date of the birth of baby TT, and the hospital the baby was supposedly born. Also he added the name of the place where TT and his BF were "warned" about fooling around in a car, but the rest was all Ted, are you saying that all the TT BI's are made up?
"tr" you have been around the gossip blogs for awhile, you didn't think it strange that JJ didn't know that most think TT is Jake? Becasue that was what he claimed.
And for the record, Perez isn't the only blogger calling Ryan and Abbie whores.
No one needs to discredit Ted and TT, he did on his own. He still has his "readers" but the numbers have clearly diminished.
That should be two months later he still WAS pushing it (Oct. '07). He hasn't mentioned TT since.

ReplyDeleteIt is awesome that ent lawyer posted Ted's BI last night. I wish MK would pick it up. It seems that even when people are outed like Wentworth and Jake it doesn't ever make the mainstream unless the person makes it offical. I think Jake is feeling real cozy right now knowing that he has that 30 million in his pocket minus reese's share and that Disney will do everything tp protect him from being out. They made a big investment in him.

Most of the time they were set up given what appear to be tips by credible sources who were actually trying to pull strings for a client and turn public opinion one way or the other.
