The 411

In a stunning move, actor Austin Nichols has changed his name. In a statement release early this morning, Mr. Nichols has announced he will be now know as 512. Wanting to explore new avenues the name change represents overcoming challenges on and off screen for the Austin native he felt that his given name was holding him back.

"The crush of the Austin Nichols media has been played out. It's too saturated, too known. It's time for a change. I am more than what everyone has seen. I am 512."

With background influences include sports, music, and art, the opportunities are endless. Wanting represent his past with more urban feel to the Ralph Lauren All American look.

Insiders say that the change may come from his recent work with Xzibit on the Chris Carter semi autobiographical project Fencewalker. Others think he was influence by UK street artist Banksy. But some challenge that asking when has he seen Banksy's street art. Still some think it was from a hip hop fan only known as JG.

"Represent!" was the response to his goal with this new moniker. "I want to represent, the 512." "Yo Tooth." Asked what he meant, 512 flashed a grin and nodded, "ain't nuthing but a g' thang".

  1. Boy was already a playah had two tags from liquor, why go mess with that with something dumb like 512?

  2. Too close to the real thing. Spesh you should've thrown him hanging in Watts to boost his cred.

  4. I have real mixed feelings about the Olympics because of China and human rights issues. But I am very curious to see if and how the main stream media deals with the athletes that are out.

    I do as well. :(

  6. Just thought with all the collection of names Austin has collected over the years: Tall Texan, Smitten Kitten, Grey Goose, Nic, The Don, that 512 might be another.

Somehow can see that number being used at the end of certain txt messages too.

  7. China's environmental policies (or lack of) are horrendous, not to mention human rights issues. Stop-gap measures to clean the air for the Olympics won't compensate for coal plants being built at the rate of two per week. I have very mixed feelings about the Olympics this summer. China should never have gotten them, IMO. I can't support that.

  8. I love the fact that although Mitcham is out and proud hes more interested in doing well. I wish him all the best. Im not sure how I feel about the Olympics being in China either although I do love seeing the athletes compete. Its a catch 22 for me : (

  9. ^^I know - I usually enjoy them very much, but I can't watch this year - and know that the IOC and governments are glossing over China's censorship, pollution and violence in Tibet by attending. China as a growing world power is making all of the same mistakes that the West has made, and worse. What does that say to the world? I am happy otoh for athletes like Matthew Mitcham.

  11. ^^Sounds like a good choice - diving is a beautiful event as well, and I adored Greg Louganis. :)

  14. Well People couldn't end the week without some Reeke.

    Gyllenhaal's Co-star: I didn't Jake and Reese together"

Again - more while Jake's out of the country but this time hey they named the source. How Novel.

But I really don't know how the co-star knows that much besides being Reese's friend, because he plays a Major in Brothers so his scenes would have been with Tobey.
    Interesting huh.

360 is working for the weekend I guess.

  15. The key to this whole story: And Collins Jr., should know. "I've known her since she was 17 – we used to have the same agent."

  16. Wow PR has been very busy over the last few weeks (the big smiles in the paparazzi pictures out and about in LA, the big family vacation, Jake moving in stories, he's ready for kids stories, his family gives her kids gifts, plus little signs of love and devotion like waiting at the hotel and impromptu testimonials from other about how great they are together). Also check out the two page US Weekly spread on Reese's new young hip style makeover!!

It all makes me think we are going to hear about Ryan and Abbie's wedding very soon. I doubt they would ever announce an engagement. They would probably skip that and just make an announcement when they were married. So I'm going to bet on a wedding in Australia this month. Just a hunch.

Maybe then the Reeke-ing will settle down for a while.

  19. I see smiles too. But not for each other, just for those around them. Like the bodyguard, the trainer, passers by, the cell phone. And the I want you look was seen only for the cute blond guy in the park.

  20. I am also conflicted about China having the Games, but I love them way too much not to watch. It's the only time I can ever watch swimming. I was shocked when Beijing was awarded them. It will be interesting to see how the controversy over these Games plays out. Even some Olympic athletes have supported a boycott. Retired figure skater and 2-time Olympic silver medallist, Elvis Stojko, advocates for athletes to boycott the Games.

  21. Jake's best smile is the one he has for Austin. It lights him up.

  23. Watching "Bubble Boy" on Comedy Central right now.

Can't imagine the Jake of now - the dour, sullen, closed off, PR game playing A-List wanna be Jake - ever making a movie with such campy, silly fun ever again.

    And it breaks my heart.

  24. The recent Reeke overkill (especially in People) has already been noted.

    Is this the reason?

maybe there is a wedding in the offing

Reese really just needs to get over it, she's not the first woman to be eft by a shitty husband and certainly won't be the last.

  25. Is it just me or does anyone else see the irony that the ring Abby is wearing, that started the speculation of secret engagement is a big blue one? Even if it's speculation, it still makes me grin.

  26. That picture of them in that car is several weeks old, she has been seen in pics after that w/o out it. She has been seen wearing several rings including that one for a while, and none of them are "traditional" engagement rings.

It's like Reese wearing several type of rings over a period of time, the only difference is now she is wearing it on her left hand which means nothing.

BTW, the ring Abby is wearing is Jade.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I knew it was jade, you can tell that. Like I said I find the irony of them choosing a picture of her wearing a big blueish ring as the picture to set off the chatter.

Jake saves the campy, silly fun for on horseback or with a goose
