The early bird gets the .....

Beek?

There are conflicting reports out about James Van Der Beek on OTH. Former Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek, will be making a guest-appearance on an upcoming episode of One Tree Hill that's clear.

But some outlets are saying he's replacing Austin in the role as Julian Beckett, and others are saying he's playing a director interesting in Lucas' book. Austin plays an independent producer interested in making Lucas' book into a movie, but also has a past connection to Peyton. It is doubtful that Van Der Beek is replacing Austin since Austin has been seen on set and in production still for Episode 6.08. and 6.09.

The news on OTH boards is that Jame will return to Wilmington this month to shoot an episode of One Tree Hill that will air in late November.

But could there be a connection between Beek's character and Austin - is he the one who knows about Julian's past with Peyton? Could director Dawson Leary be looking for work? Would Dawson blab about Julian and Peyton much like he did about Joey and Pacey and Jen all those years on The Creek?

And why Van Der Beek? "Says OTH creator/executive producer Mark Schwahn, 'The specter of Dawson's Creek is always around us. We're about to [complete] 128 episodes, which is what Dawson's did. So I thought it would be cool to get James.' "

Upcoming One Tree Hill Episodes

Episode 6.08 “Our Life Is Not A Movie Or Maybe”

Air Date: October 27, 2008

Julian meets Lucas interested in making his book into a movie.

Episode 6.09 "Sympathy for the devil"

Air Date: November 3, 2008

In a flashback scene, Peyton meets Julian for the first time as soon as she leaves Lucas' book signing in LA.

  2. Yes, congrats to the Phillies! Great song today - and James Van Der Beek is kinda cute! ;)

  3. Good morning, all! Whew, what a night. That was some heavy talking that was.

Yeah, congratulations to the Phillies, Tom! I peeked at the game a couple of times to see how the score was going.

Hey, that is some picture of James Van Der Beek. He's matured into quite the, er, leading capable guy. Love a dark suit on a man. I always thought he was kind of a cutie on Dawson's Creek. I never watched the show, but I knew who he was. Heck, I didn't even know Katie Holmes & Michelle Williams were on it til after the show was no longer on.

Zoomout, ITA. No, I'm pretty sure you never would've seen a lingerie story about Heath. Nor a "Heath Moves In". That guy was his own man. The more interviews I read & watch on YouTube of him, the more he intrigues & fascinates me. There's a biography of his that I want to get that I've thumbed through & read parts of every time I go to Borders. He was no nonsense. He was no frills. He was old school. And he seemed genuinely humble. And there was a raw sexual energy about him because he could be as manly as Clint Eastwood or Charlton Heston but then he could also have a softness to his voice, an embarrassed tone to his laugh, and an unease in his body language that would belie all of that Bronsonish. It was the greatest mix of all.

Wow, don't get me started on that guy, lol!! I won't quit.

So what channel is this OTH on, anyway? It's not on HBO, is it? Is Austy boy going to be available to the viewing public?

Last note - I really like this song. It kind of has a 60's sound to it. Well, 3rd time around, I think I'm going to have to see if it's on ITunes.

  4. I agree, PG and ZoomOut - Heath was his own man and so anti-Hollywood, I guess I assumed Jake would be the same way. This song does have a Herman's Hermits feel about it. ;)

  5. One Tree Hill is on the CW network.

The song is from a SXSW (South X South West)sampler I downloaded. For those who don't know SXSW is an awesome film and music event every year in Austin TX.

Hysterics, are based out of Brooklyn, here's their web page and they've got a My Space as well.

  6. Geez Louise. I closed this window, scrolled up and looked again at that first picture, the one of Austin leaning in the doorway with that smirk and that lil buzzcut goin on.

Do you know. That our nightshift leadman is a deadringer for him? Criminetleys. And that guy is actually taller than Austin. I forget how tall he is, but he's like 6'5" or 6'7". When he has to get on the forklift, his long legs stick out of that thing like a praying mantis' legs. Always looks so uncomfortable.

I can't believe that. That gives me the creeps now.

Zoomout, you made another excellent point when you were talking about why we keep getting those pestering unwanted relatives' visits. Why else would you keep nagging like that? Unless there was some inkling of doubt pecking away in the back of your head, not letting go. It's called "talking out your fear".

The song is from a SXSW (South X South West)sampler I downloaded.

Uh oh. Sounds like it may not be on ITunes! I'm going to have to go check it out.

  8. The director character probably shows up after the producer--Austin--gets the book signed up. I wonder if we'll get some catfights between them over the direction of the film.

Another great post Special, you're on a roll.

  9. Chris, loved your post yesterday at 11:53.

To answer people's questions about the future of OMG, I think I speak for Spesh when I say that this blog will continue, no matter what happens, for quite some time. I have said many times that Jake and Austin are merely our excuse to talk to each other and create community and that is the real point of doing this blog, at least for me anyway.

Kacie, can I ask you what your job is? You said your job just laid off more sewers. Do you make clothes?

  10. Well you know me and my rose colored glasses. Still a big believer our twosome or is that the threesome, and maybe a moresome.

So I'm going be around for a long time. Besides I like to be that little cute pebble that pokes in them foot every time TPTB take a step. Like yeah - over here - yup still here. Not going anywhere, no matter how many times they try to shake it out.

  11. Okay, I started a real bad thing by adding some of the chopped black walnut pieces to my cereal. I bought that $5 tiny bag of black walnut pieces during my daytrip last Saturday to Blackwater & Arrow Rock, Missouri. Those things are stinkin expensive. They're supposed to be for Christmas baking; if I don't stuff them into the freezer, there's not going to be any for Christmas cookies, lol.

Funny shower radio listening this morning. The dj's were talking about their kids selling stuff and how it was all wrong, so wrong. And one of the male dj's, I guess, had always said he would never bring that stuff to work for his kid or let his kid become a pitchman for the schools. And what happens? His kid has to sell cookie dough for Scouts. You guys ever get roped into that stuff at work? We do. And the parents begrudgingly bring it to work and start out with "Now don't feel like you have to buy anything. But my daughter (son) wanted me to bring it to work, blah, blah, blah". Awww, it's about impossible to turn down the little ones. And my niece & nephew call with their orders and, well, there's no question. Just hand over the order form, let me find something, LOL!

But it is rotten of the schools to put this on the kids. And that stuff's not cheap. My last vacation, I went in one night to scone through my emails & in that visit, I ended up shelling out $ 9 for a tub of unpopped popcorn for the Scouts. I could pay $2.whatever at Wally World for the same thing. But I could never turn down that Super for anything. He brings up our copy paper, my boxes of bills of lading & empties our recycling tub without being asked. And he is the biggest sweetheart. He'll drink Mountain Dew like it was on intravenous feed and he has a real sweet tooth. When we have snack days, we just let him finish up the leftovers in the fridge. He's just a big ol' boy and I don't know where the calories go, but they don't go on him. I'd do about anything for him.

You know, one other thought on this latest go around of Reeke. How come we didn't have any other photo ops during her stay? I find it interesting that any other casual photo ops are getting few & far between. It was almost like a business trip. Fly in, have a few business lunches to discuss the next big move, hit the dressing room & arrange the hair, the makeup, the mufflers & the scarf, the nails, the Foster Grants, hit the runway, put on your Oscar winning totally-in-love smile, hit the lingerie boutique to plant another story, and then poooooff, it's done, get the heck out of town. Job completed.

Very well played. Too bad they're not fooling everybody like they'd like.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I love that you want to be that pesky lil pebble, Special. That's an excellent way of putting it.

And I love that you & Wicked both addressed the late night concerns & ramblings that took place. Appreciate that. That was kind of a dark time, last night was.
Phew, hope those don't happen too much anymore, loll!

And I've now played this song about 10 times now. Thanks alot, Spesh. I'm obssessed now. Just like that song Wicked introduced us to, among many, that song by the Fleet Foxes. What a find that was.

My cereal is just about digested now. I'm heading out for a walk and then I'm going to see what other mischief I can get into in my own little KS Boutiques! Don't think I'll be hitting up any lingerie stores for a photo op, but hey, you never know.

And Rhianna, if you're thinking of leaving Chris Brown, girl, you are NUTS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, that's good timing. My travel starts tomorrow with my nephew's wedding over the weekend, then I come home just long enough to repack and fly out for my business trip back east. But, I get home oct 27, just in time to catch Austin on TV. I just wish it were a better show. He is very talented and this show is a bit beneath him, I think. I've only ever seen one episode, maybe it gets better.

  14. hit the lingerie boutique to plant another story

Do we even know they ever were in that boutique? And Reese didn't just send one of those lowly assistants out to get the necessary props for todays photo-op?

The paparazzi got them drinking coffee with no bag, then something inbetween with absolutely no pics and suddenly two new coffees and the bag.

No pic of them entering or leaving the actual store and no pic of them actually inside it.

Those paparazzi really should learn not to always stop taking pictures everytime that all these "seductive" things happen!
People might start thinking that those candids are all pre-planned together with the paparazzi!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yeah, I imagine they have to give a name of the store clerk this time to make it look legit - friends, pals, eyewitnesses, and the guy down the street's accounts were wearing a bit thin. ;)

  16. "Do you know why babblers and reekers keep coming here? They keep asking all these questions, like "Do you have any evidence?", etc."

Firstly, I'm neither a babbler or a reeker. I know that this blog infects people with the near irresistible compulsion to label anyone who disagrees with them as a "babbler/reeker", but try to fight it.

    Secondly:

"They keep asking all these questions, like "Do you have any evidence?", etc."

Errrr, maybe they do that because they'd like to see the evidence? Because when you make a claim about something, especially when you make that claim repeatedly and mock those who don't agree with you, you should expect to be asked to back up your claim? Because that's what happens in the real world?

"because deep in their hearts they are not sure themselves what to think of the whole Jake and Reese situation. They ask and secretly hope for us to find the answer to all their fears that maybe, just maybe, Jake Gyllenhaal is not completely, 100% straight. Something is off with this relationship and everyone who has at least a bit of intuition and common sense can feel it."

Ahahahaha. Hey, look, I don't know what Jake's sexuality is. I don't know whether Jake and Reese are real of not. That isn't a fear that resides deep in my heart, it's a pretty simple logical position that resides in the frontal lobes of my brain. On the flip side however, it appears that you are claiming to know for a fact that Jake and Reese are fake, because to you anyone with "at least a bit of intuition and common sense can feel it.". You're so deep in your belief (like many others here) that you react with astonishment and hostility at the merest request for some evidence to back up your belief.

    Oh, and one other thing:

"Zoomout, ITA. No, I'm pretty sure you never would've seen a lingerie story about Heath. Nor a "Heath Moves In".

...is this some kind of joke? Being your own man, being anti Hollywood, hell, even hating the press with every fiber of your being doesn't prevent stories from being written about you, and there were PLENTY of those kinds of stories written about Heath. And that was just in America; in Australia Heath was a tabloid magnet, especially around the time of his relationship with Naomi Watts. There were roughly 700 billion* stories about their sex life, about him moving in with her, about him proposing, engagement rings, wedding rings, wanting to have children etc etc etc. And I bet that there were probably a group of fans bemoaning Heath for being such a sellout and that Heath and Naomi were obviously fake. And then they did the same thing with Heath and Michelle. The more things change, the more things stay the same.

*Slight exaggeration. But only slight. :D

  19. "Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal made an impromptu visit to a sex toy and underwear emporium during their recent trip to London. Yeah, I’m sure Jake’s never been in some place like that before. Star Magazine says

'While shopping in a Myla boutique on the West End, Reese beckoned [Jake] into the changing rooms… [with] various bra and panty sets.

Jake brought some items up to the cash register, then Reese paid with her credit card. On the way out of the store, the lovebirds stopped, giggling at a display of sex toys.'

I’m sure you noticed gaping hole in Star’s lingerie show timeline. What was Jake doing from the time Reese went into the dressing room with the panties until the moment he arrived at the register with her card? Use your deductive reasoning skills. Was it:

    A) Fetal position and lots of crying

    B) Feigned enthusiasm and barely-contained vomit, or

    C) Putting on the bra and panty set and belting out “I Feel Pretty” while twirling a parasol and high-stepping in peep-toe pumps

I think the only way the answer could be any more obvious is if it could physically bitch-slap you in the face and hiss, “Girlfriend please.”

  20. I'm with you, oh boy. Most of us have come to believe what we do about Jake or about Jake/Austin after 3 years of closely following the whole saga. It would be too complicated to explain why I believe what I do. Besides, I don't have the desire to explain it. I'm perfectly content to have people go along believing whatever they want about Jake - I don't need to know what evidence they have or why they don't see things my way. I just wish they would let me go on believing what I do without constantly harassing me. And that's my first and final word on this topic.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't need any concrete evidence either. I admit, I base a lot of why I follow this on Ted's reports, and I really don't think he'd carry on so long with it if there was something to it. He many not be 100% accurate, but he's on to something. I've been around to know that things are never what they seem at first glance, and am pretty familiar with human nature, and with the way things go in Hollywood, that just ups the ante. I could be wrong, but I just want to see where it all goes - and if the gossip mags are going to print all this stuff, and paps are hired to take photos, then noone can call foul.

PG I hear you on those walnuts, I have the same problem with the fancy french pecans I buy for my Thanksgiving pies. Except I like to just eat them straight out of the bag.

Interesting to see Guy Ritchie (via a friend) admit to having been faking it. Clearly they were carrying on until her tour hit the road and they had the premieres of her short film and his movie this past week. Madonna is always all about the marketing and being a control freak, but it's still a little sad to see yet another person who wanted to be seen as edgy and different turn out to be so conventional, in the HW sense of the word.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Popcornnnnnnn!!!!! ;)

How are ya. I didn't say that Heath Ledger wasn't ever a target of the paps. Of course he was. I'm well aware about the way the Australian press followed his every move & he did hate it. There isn't a celebrity around who doesn't get followed at some point or another. It's part of the package deal. And what celebrity doesn't get their love life trumpeted in the rags and all the other printed/television press? Of course they talked about him & Naomi. They apparently seemed to be for real. But Heath had no need to prove his heterosexuality. I didn't see the constant inuendo and the Toothy Tile stories following him around on the internet. This is neither here nor there. There's a world of difference between Heath and Jake. I can't even believe you're willing to try & argue this point. It's futile and it's without sense.

But I'm developing quite the fondness for you, Popcorn. You're spunky & you're persistant. Gotta admire that. I'm not sure what your agenda is - are you strictly a Jake fan? Jake & Reese fan? Doesn't matter - I think it's great. Maybe you're going to snarl at me that you're neither. That's okay, too. You're becoming quite the member of the community - so here's the welcome mat. Take up residence. I look forward to chatting with you. You're not going to change my mind & I'm not going to offer you any proof of anything, tho, just so you know heads up. After all, I'm a little computer challenged and I live in the Midwest, so my access to HW is limited. Maybe you live in the thick of it all and have some inside scoop. I invite you to share it - I'm always up for it because, heck, I've been wrong a kazillion times before.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I should have said in my post above that I don't require any concrete evidence - yet. Eventually I believe the truth will come out. I do require a little more to go on than what we've been reading about J&R, just come out and say it, make the leap, no coy answers. Still not convinced by the latest developments, there's gaps in info that you could drive a cement truck through.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Do we even know they ever were in that boutique? And Reese didn't just send one of those lowly assistants out to get the necessary props for todays photo-op?

Just a coincidence, I hear you. And no, we don't know it for sure. Sure, I agree that a little Joe or Jane Flunkie could've skidaddled into the store and supplied the bag. But man, that would really be masterplanning. I don't have any problem believing that they may have gone into the store. Heck, she could've been picking up a pair of trouser socks or a big oversized T shirt nightie and then calling it a set of K State colored bra & matching britches for all we know.

But that's where my belief stops. I don't buy that store clerk & burlesque strip tease show for a minute. Only Star magazine would print what is supposed to be a store clerk's name. It seems so obvious to print a name in order to lend credence. But I also wouldn't put it past some curious fans to be scoping that store out or calling that store, asking for her by name. After all, you know what happens when TV shows, movies or singers use phone numbers in their lyrics or episodes. Joe Q Public calls it.

867-5309, for the price of a dime I can always turn to you, 867-5309

Who could ever get those lyrics out of their head? There was a person with that actual phone number and they had to get it changed because people kept calling it. There's always going to be someone who is going to do stuff like that. And I wouldn't be surprised if that store hasn't gotten some people in there looking for that clerk by name. So they better have an employee by that name or someone's going to get caught making a bit of a mistake. And talk about setting a precedent. The next time Britney goes into a Target store, those store clerks are going to be waving their name badges at the paps, begging to be quoted so they, too, can get their 15 minutes of fame.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh crap! There I'm talking trouser socks & big oversized T shirt and the Myla boutique is a Priscilla's! LOLLLLL! Shows how some things just fly over my head, pffffffffttt!

Well, this puts an even more hilarious spin on it. And that article linked by I Feel Pretty is a guffawfest. Fetal position.

Man, when stuff like that is out there on the blogs, it really doesn't make Jake look good. Reeke is setting him up to look ridiculous. I can't believe Michael K hasn't had his time with it yet. This is right up his alley.

    ReplyDelete

  30. Oh my dog, you guys, there is a link between Myla's and Vogue. Doing a little internet scoping and it seems Vogue has featured this store's line in its publications in the past and apparently the present, including Myla's 2008-2009 autumn/winter campaign.

So what, was this just yet another business plug for Reese? A free plug for that store in the name of Vogue?

    ReplyDelete
  31. LOLLL, Special! Of course I know about Priscilla's. ;)

Speaking of which, tonight is my field trip to the crematorium. Should be interesting.

  35. Great catch on the Myla connection to Vogue.

I'm sure stores, restaurants, etc. are only all too happy to have their name plugged like this, even if they don't know anything about it before hand. However it's clear from articles I've read that sometimes it's the result of a formal arrangement, with the stars, magazines, etc., getting goodies or discounts in return. If Myla is in the same Vogue issue as Reese, then I'd say chances are good this was a formal arrangement.

I guess Maggie isn't the only one in the business of plugging racy lingerie. We know what Reese supposedly got, wonder what Jake they gave Jake. ;)

  52. Have a great dinner with your Dad, Special. We'll all be on our best behavior, won't we, everyone?

When you get back, can you say what you mean by Ted's timing? Do you mean the question coming right after the London cakewalk?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think Special meant the question coming right after Reese’s PR manufactured Vogue article where Reeke is a part of her new image and she talks about him as her “boyfriend” for the first time. It means Reeke is now officially a “couple”. They enter a new stage in the bearding.

  54. Hi Guys!

I'm still here - just lurking, but decided to de-lurk. Gotta say, I just looooove this song, it's wonderful.

Have a great dinner with your Pop, Spesh. And GO SOX!!! :)

  55. Ah, yes, I see.

And I suppose, the Vogue article could be viewed as the official "outing" of the happily blissful couple. Funny, though, does she even mention Jake by name in the actual article? I mean, I know, we all know who she's talking about, I'm not dumb. But she really does get away with actually verbally saying squat about Jake himself, other than that now famous line, "He's very supportive." That just fans the flames of passion, doesn't it? The author of the article actually has to verbalize and retell what all he/they did during their time in Paris. I mean, good gosh, Hayden P. & Milo took less time to come out as a couple. Obama or McCain will be firmly entrenched in office before these 2 actually plant their feet & officially commit to a "relationship" in the press. It's like watching Elmer's glue set, I swear.

It's still a case of them not really coming out yet and saying yes, we, he & I, she & I, have a great thing going. We are very happy together and things are going great right now, for us. Do you all see what I'm saying?

Now what I want to see next is when Jake's next indepth interview is, whether it be printed press or visual media. Let's hear him just come out and spit it out. None of this vague mumbo jumbo. No author re-telling stories. Direct quotes.

    Is that asking too much?

And what is this about buying a house in London? I thought it was renting a house. Now it's buying?

  56. Hey, netb!!! Great to see you. The waters are a little rough right now, that's for sure, aren't they? Geez.

Good luck to your Sox, too!

  57. Is that asking too much?

Why on Earth should we believe Jake or Reese after all this?

    ReplyDelete
  58. No reason, although I'm willing to give him a chance more so than her. I don't think I'd ever believe a word she said. But I'm just saying why can't they just cut through the chase and speak English instead of PR garbo.

  63. Jen Aniston Is a Masochist, but Could Do Worse

The John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston "back on" brigade is in full force, with the duo celebrating J.M.'s 31st B-day together in Hell-Ay. Doth we question Jen's decision-making skills when it comes to dating—but what the ef is this woman thinking? Once was irritating enough with this man-child, but twice? Is she really that desperate to steal some headlines back from Angie? (Just take a gander at the Changeling poster, Jen, it'll give you a good laugh like it gave us).

Then again, we guess it could be a whole lot worse...

Horrible Choices for a Boyfriend Jennifer Aniston Could Make That Are Worse Than Choosing to Date John Mayer Again (Vol. 1) :

    1. O.J. Simpson
    2. Joe Francis
    3. Brody Jenner, Spencer Pratt, Justin Bobby—pretty much any male on The Hills
    4. Carrot Top
    5. Michael Lohan
    6. Blake Incarcerated
    7. Bill Clinton
    8. Oscar the Grouch
    9. Ben from Lost
    10. Her hairdresser, Chris McMillan
    11. Flava Flav

  65. Hey guys - trying to remain hopeful for my Sox, but talk about tough down by 5 in the 5th.

Ok - now putting on my rose color glasses a moment for the first part of the analyzing Ted. Remember Ted writes things that can be read more than one way.

The way he wrote it, it confirms that they are still together - which some have wondered, because of the distance and the fauxmance, and it confirms Baby Tile as well.

Now the timing - 10/18/07 - Ted pretty much outed them with the walk in the village, but that was several days after it happened earlier in the week. Now for some - and from another source (cough cough Jonathan Jaxson) Baby T was born around this time last year. Then the bearding went global and in front of the camera in Rome. I think that is big reason for the time, even more than the Reese PR - because honestly I think Ted don't give a rip about Reese in the least.

Ted has mentioned before that Toothy wanted to come out BUT he wanted someone else to do the dirty work for him. Ted has said he wouldm't out anyone but he has done everything short of saying Toothy Tile is Jake Gyllenhaal and is gay and he and his partner have a child.

Now Ted's never been a fan of Reese that is well known. But he has continued to turn up the heat not just on Jake but on Reese. But he continues to keep pressing Jake.

Today he is expressing his opinion what he thinks Austin should do, but do you think Ted thinks he will do it? I don't think so, I think that's why he posted the question and answer. He knows that Goose will stay. He wants Jake to end this farce of a romance and be honest. Does that mean come out? Or does it mean doing and Anderson Cooper?

Ted knows that the only thing that is going to push Jake - is if Austin would leave him and take the baby. This is tough love Ted style. I think Ted thinks thinks there is nothing else short of losing Austin that would make Jake stand up to his management and Reese and say he's done with it.

Just my opinion. Taking cover for the incoming.

  67. Hey Special. How was dinner? You know I have to ask with my seemingly neverending interest in food.

2 things, Special: 1) I'm still struggling with the date thing. Are you talking about the timing of Ted's question from Myla? Or the timing of the bearding?

    2) You know, I was thinking/wondering the same thing about a veiled recommendation to Austin to say No More and up & leave. Would Ted even try to suggest at helping to set a rift between the two by all-but outing Jake, knowing how much Austin is supposedly not keen on being outed himself nor being publicity crazy at all. The more Ted turns up the heat, could it make Austin annoyed enough to start being unhappy about the whole situation? Icould see that happening. This whole thing has got to already be causing some tension & spats. Jake & Austin wouldn't be human if it wasn't.

But then I thought, naw, that's too crazy of an idea. Maybe not, huh?

  69. The timing is about everything - what happened last year, the baby, the bearding, the new round of pictures and stories

I thought it was interesting someone mention Ryan has something opening this weekend and how we've seen PR push harder when he has things happening.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Okay, I have now been inside the garage where the crematorium is and been inside the casket show-room. Saw a $10,000+ casket. Can you imagine? The whole process of cremating a body takes a total of about 4-5 hrs, most of that time because the unit needs to cool. It goes up to like about 1600+ degrees in there.

Now, our instructor told us in class that one really doesn't want to watch a cremation take place. He's seen them and he doesn't recommend it. The funeral director told us tonight that indeed people can watch if they want and the Buddhists definitely attend. Something about their religion requires that they escort the loved one's body to the event and stay with it til it is finished.

The whole thing was fantastically interesting and they were great about it. We were able to ask questions. I asked what how did they funnel the ashes into the urn from that big machine? And indeed there is a funnel in the final phase, lol! I won't go into any more detail as I know this causes discomfort probably for some. But I think everybody should go through a class like this and even hear what these people have to say because they have seen it all. They say that you wouldn't believe how beneficial pre-planning is because when people come to them, they are so often absolutely not in any shape to be making big money decisions.

Just really, really educational. Okay, I'm done finally with the class so no more on it!! :)

  71. Special, what does Ryan have opening?

Very sad news about Jake's parents.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Between Obama and Prop. 8 I've been on pins and needles about the election. I know the former is looking good, but I still worry. I still don't get why people with money are not forking over, like Ellen. Earlier this week someone asked Ted about that, but sadly he didn't really give an answer.

I think Ted's question is a reaction to the bearding taking it up a notch. I suspect that he is as appalled as some of us are about Jake doing this when there is a baby. And he's saying what some of us have been saying, and which anyone I know who has been a parent says--if you have kids, your kids come first. And Ted is saying that by bearding Jake is not putting his child first, and maybe hinting that he never will--after all, Jake seems to be digging himself in deeper and deeper.

You might be right Special about Ted suggesting that is one way to get Jake to do the right thing, and I've often wondered if that would work, or if Austin has ever tried it, or even wanted to. Or Ted could be saying that Jake is never doing to do the right thing, and that for the sake of Baby Tile Austin needs to realize that and make the sacrifice for his child.

I don't have any children, and have always had mixed feelings on that subject, One big reason is that I know I could never make the changes, or be happy making the changes, you need to make if you're going to do right by a child. I know I'm only speaking for myself, but I strongly believe that if you have children you need to be willing to make some sacrifices for the sake of your child.

  73. That sounds interesting PG. The different ways people approach death fascinates me. For example, Jews believe in burying people within 24 hours if at all possible, but don't allow either embalming (not necessary if you're buried right away) or cremation. Another thing is that someone is supposed to stay with the body at all times, so Jewish funeral homes can arrange to have someone who sits with the deceased and reads prayers all night.

  74. Forgot to add to my previous post that I agree with you Special as to the timing of all the Reeke news this week.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Boy, this opens up a whole new possible can of worms. Especially on the heels of the sad news about Jake & Maggie's parents.

On one of the comments after that story, there's a blogger who says they used to work at a cafe where Stephen & Naomi frequently came in and that they "fought" all the time. They weren't very complimentary at all. Of course, there's no verification that this account is true, but this whole story is still extremely sad. Especially when it's splashed on the lead page of TMZ the way it is.
It's always sad when a marriage doesn't work out when it starts out with such love (well, usually) and hope for a lifetime together. And when there's children involved, and I don't care how old the children are. Even if you're 30 or 40, you are still the son or daughter and they are still your Mom & Dad. Holiday celebrations change, family dinners change, conversations change. I feel bad for Jake and Maggie. I mean, I don't have any idea how their childhood was but giminy's there are just oodles of pictures of this family together, together, together at so many functions & taking walks together. It's sad.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Just want to say that my opinion is about what Ted is saying in his column. I'm not dipping into anything deep than trying to figure out Ted tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  77. PG, have you ever watched Moonlight Mile or listened to the commentary? Jakes parents did apparently fight a lot when he was young, and there's a scene in the movie where he overhears Susan Sarandon and Dustin Hoffman fighting. In the commentary Dustin talks about how in that scene Jake looks like he really is 12 in that scene and says? suggests? he was basing it on his own life experiences.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yeah, I have seen Moonlight Mile but I don't think I watched the commentary. I may have to check it out again just to watch that bit of commentary. Wow, that's sad. I never even like it when I hear my own folks have a crabby word for each other. Usually it's on my Dad's end. My mom doesn't have a harsh word for anybody. And now that they're much older, I don't hear any crabbing anymore, anyway. Just grousing by Dad when he doesn't feel like doing something, lol. Mom still wears the pants in the family.

    ReplyDelete
  79. One more thing about what Ted wrote - I think it could also mean this - that Jake did all of this for Austin and the baby, and they are the only reason he would stop.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Goodness, I just noticed the time. I was thinking it was like 8 o'clock or something; don't know what in the heck I was thinking.

I guess I'm going to need to hit the ol' hay. Tomorrow's Austin Friday, last day of my last full week of the big V for this year. The Big D is already set in, too.

And where in the heck did ol' Popcorn go? Geez, bring out the welcome mat and Popcorn goes AWOL.

Goodnight, Destiny. Sweet dreams to ya and have a great Friday tomorrow - TGIF & all that!

G'night to you, too, Special. Sweet dreams to ya. Your mind is still churning over Ted, isn't it, lol? You know I love to tease you. ;) How'd your Sox do tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Destiny, I immediately thought of that Moon Light Mile commentary too. Jake has said more than once that his parents fought a lot. I just assumed it was good natured debate, but to a child it probably read as fighting. Maybe it really was fighting.

I think we have discussed the names in Ted's letters before. I was never completely sure they were clues, but after today, no doubt at all. Myla could not be more obvious. Pretty clear that Ted thinks the child should come first. He said they were mixing up the sperm, but by now it would be pretty clear who daddy is. Blue eyes and moles or brown eyes and weird ears. Would Jake be acting the same if BabyTile had moles and Blue eyes?

    ReplyDelete
  82. I enjoyed the commentary on MM, Dustin Hoffman is fun and he clearly has real affection for Jake.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you Special about why Jake is bearding. He is doing it for his career, not for Baby Tile. I've always suspected that he got burned a bit in HW by flirting with coming out, and may've been having trouble getting the roles he wanted. So I understand not coming out.

But I don't believe there is any valid excuse bearding, especially the heavy bearding that Jake is engaged in, and not with a child. With the exception of married couples--most of whom have a good 10-20 years on Jake, so we're talking a real generational difference--nobody is taking it to the lengths Reeke has.

Lots of stars manage to keep their private lives private if that is what they want. Among other things, I seem to recall an interview with one of the tabloid editors said that they only run pictures of stars' children if they're okay with it.

And here's another big reason I don't think it is about privacy--we never see Jake with Ramona anymore. Except for the CSP poster, nobody thinks he is not seeing her. And you can bet the paps would love to get a picture of Jake with Ramona, you know the fangirls would love to see pictures like that, and the paps could probably make some good money on those shots. And yet we haven't seen Jake with Maggie and/or Ramona in over 1 1/2 years--he can obviously keep his life private when he wants to. No reason it couldn't be that way with Baby Tile.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Destiny I think the bearding is for both personal and professional reasons.

I also think Reeke made their entrance a long time ago when they shut themselves off from being photographed with anyone else but her kids.

But my disbelief in Reeke has nothing to do with sexuality or TT and GG.
My disbelief in Reeke stems from Reeke themselves. These are two people who don't look like they even like each other let alone love each other and there is no sexual chemistry there.
But the biggest decider is respect. Or lack of in Reeke's case.
These two don't respect each other at all. They make their 'love story' a publicity stunt and one of them walks a mile in front of their injured partner. There is no care factor about the other one, no mirroring, no sneaking looks at each other.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, If Reeke is real, then both of them can do a whole lot better than each other.

    ReplyDelete

ag ITA. I'll never forget when she was walking ahead of him when he was on crutches. What a bitch. she probably thought she was doing him a favor because she was carrying his coffee. Big Fucking Deal.

You're right about the sneaking looks. Lovers can't keep their eyes off each other even when walking next to each other. Its how they "read" each other, a type of connection and communication. Their hands too. There's always unconcsious touching of arms, heads, clothing. Remember the pics Wicked posted of Michael Phelps touching his teammates heads? Whether he's gay or not it was a nonsexual affectionate gesture of support (god I hate that word now) and respect towards his buddies. He probably doesn't even remember doing it as much as he does. He would probably be shocked to see all those pics LOL! Reeke doesn't show a fraction of those unconcsious affectionate gestures to each other platonically much less sexually.

Wicked I plan to remind the next rude Reeker they represent Reese.

PG good catch on the Myla-Vogue connection. Fashion mags are about selling "interviews" included. The cakewalk pics, Vogue cover, Myla lingerie bag, timing to be at Ryan's movie promo, vague bf support story was a package deal. I knew it when I saw the cakewalk pics. When in hell does Reese dress like that? You can bet her ensemble is designer and the designer is paying Vogue for the promotion.

My guess is Reese is at the bottom of the big HW pond right now and the Vogue big show is a gamble to raise her profile. She was lucky to get the Avon contract. Every movie she's gotten is worse and she gets shriller in every one. Her past has caught up to her and the Oscar joke on her is finally setting in.

Ted is like the Red Sox. A tenacious son of a bitch!

    ag,

Very well said. I think by now we could all take up the length of 150 comments on the negative body language of these 2. That whole cakewalk was such an orchestrated, thought out, professionally acted job that it makes me grin now to think that at first glance it struck such a nerve. It took 2 days for everything to fall into place in order to see how that thing came about.

And, chris, you're right. Since when has Reese looked that good in a photo op? And she did look good. She was ready for a Vogue photoshoot right then & there. There wasn't a hair out of place. Like I said, they both looked like they had made a pitstop at the dressing rooms complete with hair stylist, makeup, and personal motivation coach before the big event.
