Hat's off

There's the toothpick.

Then there's the hat

Pretty fancy for a run out to the Country Mart.

And then there's Austin sweater

You think Jake gonna get A tee from Santa?

Don't know but think he might be a Mr. T fan.

Too subtle? ; )

OMG Season of Sharing

Seacology

Seacology is the world's premier environmental organization with the sole purpose of preserving the highly endangered biodiversity of islands throughout the world. Indigenous people are all too often faced with the dilemma of choosing between protecting their precious natural resources, and economic development. Seacology searches for win-win situations where both the local environment is protected and islanders receive some tangible benefit for doing so. They work closely with islanders right from the beginning, their projects enjoy strong local support and consequently lead to long-term benefits. Their ever-expanding list of projects shows that they are truly making a difference in protecting threatened island biodiversity throughout the world.

  1. Tit for Tat courtsey of People

    • They're Down Under for the holidays – and Ryan Phillippe and Aussie girlfriend Abbie Cornish are busy blending in and running errands. The happy couple was spotted grocery shopping at an IGA supermarket at Lennox Head in Byron Bay, Australia. The pair have been relaxing in the northern vacation town before heading to Hunter Valley, in New South Wales, where Cornish's family lives.

    • Back from filming in London, Jake Gyllenhaal celebrated his 28th birthday with Reese Witherspoon and family. The actress and her 5-year-old son, Deacon, treated Gyllenhaal to a special breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien in Brentwood. According to an eyewitness, "Reese and Jake looked super-cute together." The happy trio sat at the restaurant's wooden community table to eat their omelets and coffee. "Reese was just glowing," the onlooker tells us. Gyllenhaal was also very attentive to Deacon, and "it was very obvious that Jake had fun."

    People-Couple's Watch

Funny - didn't they say they went Mozza Pizzeria for pizza together?

Then who was Jakey with there at Mozza then? Some one who likes to sit at the bar and order the pizza with asparagus, pancetta, and a fried egg and knows about the cool back room. LA Times

So who's get yelled out for messing this one up? Script supervisor - you know it would help with these pesky continuity problems you guys seem to have when you do a big blowout blitz.

Sounds like a big one is on, sure the schedule being ticked off - just like Santa's list.

  2. LOLLLL! Great post today. Love that A-Team T shirt.

That hat was so out there out of leftfield for him. I was like, what on earth? Now I see. Always takes me awhile!

Everyone have a great day - be careful out there! It's 1 degree here but the rest of you have to deal with the snow/ice. Take care.

  3. Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish: Back to LA

Prepping themselves for the ultra-long plane ride back to Los Angeles, Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish were spotted meandering through Sydney International Airport earlier today (December 22).

  4. The breakfast sighting was friday morning, the day of his birthday reading that blurb, the pizza/lunch was on a Saturday. They have been spotted at that place in Brentwood before.

That section of people online is for sightings, people suposedly send them in, the pizza lunch was not mentioned because I assume no one sent it in.

So according to that and the dinner in the evening, Jake spent his birthday with his "family".

And I thought Abby and Ryan were spending the holidays in OZ/Wales, now they are heading home?? LOL!! Talk about tit for tat, last week they were staying in OZ until the New Years, then the kids were going to join them with Reese, are you sure Jake, Reese,Abby and Ryan don't have the same PR??

PS: Reese has that same hat Jake is wearing , in black, i'm surprised she didn't pull her's out although the Red sox hat is a nice touch!

    ReplyDelete
  5. So no meeting the parents in OZ and spending Xmas with them, jsut there to escort her to that Klein gig?? He must have nothing to do. I though I read that they were going to Delaware where his folks are but I bet his people didn't like the idea that was out there that he wasn't going to be with his kids on x-mas. So the next story will be that Jake/Reese/Abby/Ryan will all get together for x-mas, a real life 4C's!!

  6. That section of people online is for sightings, people suposedly send them in...

People magazine makes sightings up, too - like that Reeke sushi restaurant "sighting".

  7. A high wire reference could be just subliminal.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I was pointing out that the "sighting" supposedly took place on his birthday, a Friday, the pizza/lunch thing was supposedly on a Saturday. SK didn't seem to read the blurb correctly and got the days mixed up, the breakfast wasn't on a Saturday .

Just saying they are on script: breakfast and dinner with his "family" on his birthday, mission accomplished.

And as far as the Mozza pizza lunch on Saturday, I doubt that either Jake, Reese nor Deacon had lunch there, most likely they were in the area around the same time and that place is owned by Maro Balali a friend of Jake's. It wouldn't be the first time a joint was pimped when a star's name is somehow attached to it. Never saw either of them entering it or leaving, just them going to their cars. It looked like Jake was doing errands that day.

I find it funny that Abby and Ryan have 101 x-mas plans just like Jake and Reese, and how lame to jsut go to OZ for that cheesey event. And I can understand him wanting to be in the States to see the kids for xmas, but someone was putting out the xmas in OZ/Wales with her family big time, then the kids and Reese flying over there and then them spending it in Delaware, now they are in L.A.

    Four Christmases indeed.

  9. It's beginning to look a lot like Four Christmases, that's for sure. Cute post today, the first thing I thought of when I saw the Fedora was Austin.

Love the Cajun Christmas song today. Take care everyone in the snowy, wintry areas - it's icy today! :)

  10. Everyone knows Brenda Lee doing Rockin' Round the Christmas Tree, but this is my favorite of hers. I have great memories of my niece and nephew when they were really little dancing around in their pj's Christmas morning to this.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The only thing People said was celebrating his birthday they didn't say what day R & D celebrated it with him. These are written vague enough they cover all the bases.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I really love this one too. Thanks Spesh! ;)

Hey PG, how did you hang your lights from your window? I have some icicle lights I want to hang from my bay window from the inside, and I want to hang them with as little damage to the woodwork as possible. Last minute, I know, but we have some icicles hanging from outside, and from inside it will look pretty lit up. Thanks! :)

  13. When reading that blurb one would assume that it was on his birthday, otherwise it would just have said they were spotted having breakfast maybe Saturday.

Also they made sure that Ava wasn't included becasuse she would have been in school Friday morning, Deacon I assume is in pre-k, and only has half a day.

Nothing vague about that blurb to me.

Thursday recital with Ava was in the afternoon and at scholl, they covered all the bases.

  14. Nothing vague about that blurb to me.

    They don't mention "sighting's" date/day. That's vague.

  15. Northeast, I use suction cups on the window glass. The ones I use are hard to find anymore because they're the ones that have a slit in them that you push the wire into. Just line them up allllll around the window. Piece of cake.

  16. PG thanks! That's what they told me at the hardware store this morning too. :)

  17. I'm sure that sighting was made up since we know reeke does not leave home without flynet. Someone is working overtime to make us think that jake does not have any ree time so heck, how could he possibly see Austin, and special breakfast, lol that place is a chain, everytime I turn around there is a new one on nyc, I think of them as the food equivalent of the Gap.

  18. E!online Big Picture.

Shoo, Beard! Whiskers might be as warm as Reese's cozy hat & scarf, but we'd rather see more of Jake's sexy mug

This was the caption on E's home page the picture but when you click it talks about who cute they are together. Sounds like E is getting a little Sybil, and here I thought that was just Ryan Seacrest who did that at E!.

  19. CDAN/Ent Lawyer has a entry today about Reekes Jake birthday dinner "They Held Hands!" with full commentary LOL. EL might be a OMG tb-er.

    ReplyDelete
  20. THEY HELD HANDS!!!
I can practically feel the collective orgasm over at US Weekly. They ran a story this morning about Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal celebrating Jake's birthday Friday night. All they could come up with was the pair ate some food and drank some wine and then they had this line.

"As for PDA? The couple held hands at the table!"

Holy F**k? Are you serious? Well that means they must be getting married. I mean no one holds hands at the dinner table unless they are getting married. I am giving you the link to the photo. It is from Flynet, and although they are wonderful people I don't really want to get into a lengthy discourse with them about Fair Use today, so I would just prefer, if you click, then look at the picture and come back.

OK, have you looked at it? Seriously. Go look. OK, I think you just have to love how they are both sitting next to each other so both can have their faces seen by cameras. Also, have you seen a couple sit next to each other and look more far apart? Ever? They also look thrilled with each other's company. Yes, it is one moment in time, but Reese looks absolutely bored out of her mind, while Jake seems enthralled with whatever has caught his eye. Reese is thinking about all the wrapping she has to do for Christmas still and Jake is checking out the ass on the busboy.

But they held hands!!! That has to be worth a few cover stories about engagement and weddings and baby plans and whatever else they can think of..

    ReplyDelete
  21. "But first I must turn, bow and wave to my boy, even if he is not watching, lost for years to the high wire act far above us."

Is it me or did Mr. G just out his son here. Jake and his father were close they were pictured together many times. Now Jake's father is saying that his son is lost. I may be wrong but I think this father is grieving because his son is living a lie. Most fathers would grieve if they knew their son was gay. This father grieves because is son is now lost. If I am correct this tells me a lot about Mr. G. Heartbreaking.......

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jersey Tom, I read it as grieving because his son is living a lie too. Love ent lawyers take on things. Jake is checking out the busboy's ass! Ent lawyer has been a long time jake is gay and then bearding proponent. Almost since the day Ted started on the gay issue. I just wish ent lawyer could find a pic of Jake for full frontal fridays.

I've got to stop coming here while at work but it's been very slow last few days so hard to resist.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Papa G is grieving because he can no longer use Jake's dwindling online fandom to sell his shitty poetry. Jake is lost and so is Maggie and his wife, all 3 for years and it's papa's fault.

So no he didn't out Jake Tom, he just posted about him on his blog because that's the only way he can get traffick on his blog. Who else looks at it except Jake's declining online fandom.

Papa has declared that his son is straight, did so around the time BBM csme out, ask longtiem DC forum folks so why would he be "grieving" because he is bearding?

Papa is nuts and an asshole to boot, bet Jake and Maggie haven't spoken to that creep in ages. Jake is "lost"because he probably hasn't returned his phone calls, the jerk.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Poetry is very open to different interpretations. I am not sure what Mr. G. is saying. I certainly think he is expressing love and respect for his son. It seems that him and Jake no longer have a relationship. The words lost for years is certianly the hardest to interpet.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I interpret it as looking up at his son, the star, who has chosen to pursue a career in HW, he's can't reach him anymore possibly, entertaining the crowds on the highwire of fame, a precarious place, trying to keep his balance - one day your're up, the next, who knows? You need a safety net in case you fall. It does sound like his Dad is concerned about him for whatever reason. Whatever is going on, he's still Jake's Dad and I'm sure he loves him very much and is concerned about him.

M, I meant to tell you, I have never been able to watch the tire iron scene in Brokeback either, at the theater or the many times I've watched it at home, and I've lost count of how many times. Just can't stand to look. :(

  26. As predicted I have took the first fall of the season and turned my ankle on a tiny patch of black ice and did an almost face plant with a rock salt slide down a little bit of a decline. Oh it was graceful - ha! But saved the face - it's just a bum ankle and nice big strawberry on my knee that I'm nursing.

It is officially winter for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh no, hope you're not hurt too badly, Spesh. I know you had injured your leg before? My deer and wild bunny rabbits have broken through the fencing and have started attacking my garden so that's how I know winter is here. Sigh. Oh well, at least they're still here. On the plus side, I went to a feed store today and their domesticated bunnies had babies, you wouldn't believe how cute and friendly, and tiny! I may have to get two, per Wicked's instructions. ;)

  28. (((Special))). Thank goodness we don't get too much ice in nyc, I would be down a couple times a season for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Special, I think you have a very good reason to have a lovely rest. Take care of yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I never visit Lainey, but Dlisted had a link with the reeke photoop so I decided to check it out. She calls this weekend Reese's effort to promo 4xmas one last time.

I'm glad to see Steven G is so concerned about his son. Does not strike me as any effort on his part to get hits on his site. He usually never says more than a few words most of the time anyway. Everyone has faults, but based on his work (poetry and direction) he seems to be a very sensitive, thoughtful and caring person. Maybe I am more forgiving since I've been divorced once. Marriages fall apart for lots of reasons. People change, things happen, feelings get hurt. It's just life. Does not make someone a bad person.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 10:39, I agree with you. And whatever happened between him and Jake's mom had nothing to do with Jake (or Maggie). Children, whether they're minors or adults, need to remember that when a divorce occurs.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Good evening! Special, how's your ankle doing? Did you ice it any this afternoon? Ooooh, just what one wants when it's single digits outside - ice on ! Apply directly to the forehead ---oops, no, that's something else.

Falls can be a dangerous thing. I'm sorry that had to happen today. I hate ice outside! We're supposed to get it tomorrow. Freezing rain/drizzle around lunchtime. Heavy sigh. No walk again. Walked today for the first time in a week. It was 17 degrees; I had the park to myself, lol. No other nut out there. My hands didn't warm up until I was 3/4 the way done.

Finishing wrapping up some gifts for my cubemates tomorrow. Making some of my almond bark cookie things for a guy out in the warehouse who thought they were really good. He called it cooking. "Man, nobody bakes anymore". Poor guy. So I'm making some @ 2200 tonight just for him.

Divorce, estrangement, whatever. He's still Jake's dad and Jake is still his son. Always has been, always will be. Families don't always have smooth roads; most have bumps along the way. But there's no denying that family looked close. Jake was photo'd with them so much and like m said, things happen. No family is perfect. He sounds like he is mourning some kind of loss. While we don't know for sure what it is. I really don't think Jake is seeing much of any of his family. I can't believe we don't see some Kodak sign of it.

Tomorrow's the last day of work !! Wooohooo! We're off the rest of the week. It's been a long haul this month.

Sweet dreams to everyone who's still up.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Special, so glad you were not seriously hurt. Walking on ice is no fun at all.

Turning in early again to read. Prairie Girl got me hooked on a slash fic and I only have a couple chapters to go to finish part 1.

They are showing a repeat of OTH right now with Austin. Probably too late except for those of you on PST.

    ReplyDelete
  34. (((Spesh))) sorry to hear you had a fall.

Love the post today, though the fedora is better on Austin IMO :)

I interpreted SG's line in exactly the same way as northeast.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Whoa Spesh stay on your feet girl. No Kristi Yamagucci I gather. Take care of that ankle.

    ReplyDelete
  36. No Kristi I am not indeed. Thanks everybody for all the good thoughts. A very stiff and tender ankle. But not too swollen which I'm happy for. It's a lovely 12F (-11C) so no melting, I think it will be "take a cab to work" day.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Good morning!! I wanted to comment a little further on interpretations & whatnot, but I'm running all kinds of late. We're supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow tonight - grrrrhhhh!! I know, that's kibbles n bits to you NE'ers, but that's too much for me.

    Everyone have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Have we ever seen Jake wearing a fedora before?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I may have to get two, per Wicked's instructions.

Remember to spay and neuter, NE. Otherwise you will have much more than two in no time!

I interpreted Stephen's poem as talking about what anybody has to do to make it in HW- it's a high wire act.
