We're asking hope you're telling

The beginning of the year everyone starts out organized, keeping organized well... for some oh yeah... for others.... don't ask.

But Day 3 of the year there's still a chance. So whip out your planner (and for some you back up planner) and OMG's got some organizing for January to do.

January 5- Bad boy Julian is back on OTH
What is that boy up to?

January 11 - Jake gets his gold on at the Golden Globes as a Presenter
Will there be more baskets involved?

January 22 - Informers Premieres at Sundance with two additional showings
But everyone else has to wait until May to see it.

January 26 - Prayers for Bobby debuts on Lifetime Television
Austin as big brother Eddie.

After taking a break for the holidays - the questions are OMG movie club and JFC discussions.

Second - If you want movie club - what kind of movie for January?

Polls will be open until Monday morning at 6:00am. You can vote once a day so come back and vote again.

Would people be interesting in a music chat once a month? Maybe talk about what they are listening to, what they like?

  2. I would like to pick up with the JC discussion, but with Austin in so many things this month maybe we should wait until February?

I would like to see Good Girl, I haven't seen that since it came out. And I'll once again throw out my Dying Gaul suggestion, ever the bridesmaid of movie choices.

  3. ^ The Good Girl is great.

I would love film club in January, and a music discussion.

  4. I love music and my tastes are all over the place. I think it would be fun just to see what other people are listening to in other places. Especially outside the US.

  6. You? You Wicked? Never would have known.

I would love to know what people's guilty pleasure songs are on their ipods etc. as part of that discussion. Cause you know there's some stuff you really don't want to admit you listen to or let alone love. : )

  7. Forgot to say I'd like a music discussion too.

  8. Lets talk music. A middle age gay mans dream: The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas, Smoky Robinson and the Miracles, The Isley Brothers. etc, etc, etc. Now that is good music. Me love Motown.

Aw, Destiny, I'll vote for Dying Gaul!!! lol. My first thought was Poor Destiny, still trying for Dying Gaul. I've voted for it in the past. It sounds good. Your comment cracked me up, tho.

It's also this suburbanite's dream, too, Tom. Oh man. The Supremes. Four Tops. Isley Bros. I love all those groups you mentioned. I also love some Philadelphia soul and 70s Disco, and 80's. How about The Spinners, O'Jays, Sam Cooke, Lionel Ritchie, KC & the Sunshine Band, Prince, Donna Summer, Kool & the Gang, Junior Walker & the All Stars, etc.

Guilty pleasures? ABBA, Def Leppard, Partridge Family, the Carpenters, Bread, Chicago, Madonna, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, The Outfield, Osmonds, old Jackson Five, hmmm, that's what comes to mind.

Okay, gotta run. Got company tonight; a little mini Christmas celebration. Got alot accomplished today, Christmas decorations put away and got the blue lights in the windows and my big lit Snowflake for the "winter theme". Lots of blues, silvers, & whites. Even have a little winter tree and then there's the big blue mitten throw rug. It's shaped like a big ol' mitten. lol.

Around the same time, Jake was flying high after his award winning performance in This Is Our Youth with Hayden Christensen as well as acting alongside Jennifer Aniston in The Good Girl. When asked to pick which gave the greater career high, Jake quipped 'I don't know... How about making out with Darth Vader?'

    Jake and Darth Vadar

  14. Of course I would love to have a movie discussion. Im voting for The Dying Gaul too.

"Would people be interesting in a music chat once a month? Maybe talk about what they are listening to, what they like?"

Yes, Yes, Yes. Bring it on!!

And Tom - dont even get me started with Motown. Best music ever : )

PG - I just love Heaths facial expressions. I own most of his movies and I love all of them. I'll have to watch BBM at some point again to remember which scene your talking about.

Havent said too much about Austin but trust me im looking. He looks happy and relaxed in the photos ive seen so far. I wish him the best for 2009.

Hayden and Jake. Now that is a real possibility.

Hayden and Jake's characters are both straight in the Youth play and they don't kiss. Hayden played DV in 2002, its also an open secret in HW Hayden is gay. So what is Jake saying? He covers himself by saying Darth Vader not Hayden's name, there was making out in Good Girl with Jen Aniston, but no onstage making out in Youth but when asked he says the kissing in Youth was better. He made out with Hayden, he forgot in that interview it just wasn't onstage.

  17. Good find about This is Our Youth. Jake has always dropped little breadcrumbs throughout the years. It is just keeping your eyes open to find them.

  18. Jake like most people was an open book and spoke teasingly but honest until about after 27-28 yrs old. Not that people lie all the time after they get older/wiser, they just start being more careful about what truths they say.

    That's a good one.

Dang, small holiday get together ran a little late. I can't believe it's about midnight.

So excited - received Alf: Season 1 on dvd tonight. Yeaaaaa- I love Alf. The Ocmonicks (sp?). I love that name. The Ocmonicks were their neighbors. And I loved Alf's big laugh. It killed me. Hey, Special, guess what? I received a Ruby Tuesday gift card. Everytime I drive by there now, I think of our dinner there. I was telling my friend tonight about getting to meet you. She thought it was pretty cool. I told them that we didn't even make it to the salad bar before our entrees were brought to the table. lol. Too much yakking.

Oh geez, we were at Target tonight (had to squeeze in some post-Christmas sale shopping to check out what crumbs were left) and at the checkout counter, saw on the cover of US Weekly, a small secondary story on "Reese & Jake - Birthday Dinner pics". Didn't look at it though; we were on a mission & no time. I can just imagine what the article says. Notice how her name is always first whenever they're mentioned? With Brangelina, it's always "Brad & Angelina". With Reeke, it's always Reese & Jake. What is up with that.

The calendar search is over!! Half Price Books came through. Irish Pubs and an Eco-Calendar that is really cool. Oh, they had some good ones. English Cottages & Castles. Sailboats. Venice. Monet.

Clarity, so you've seen The Brothers Grimm? I love that movie. I could just watch it over & over. His facial expressions in that one are priceless. Have you ever noticed in that one how his character, Jacob, is always pushing up on the bridge of his glasses with his ring finger? It's hilarious and yet one of the most endearing gestures. His nerdy concentration when he would write in his notebook and the swooning, lost-in-his-own-world expressions he had on his face to reflect the dreamer that Jacob was, were great touches that he stamped on his character. I have some great pictures downloaded from that movie. I loved Lords of the Dogtown and I loved him in The Patriot except I was shocked & saddened that his character died in that one. He was beautiful in The Patriot. And that scene I'm talking about? When Jack Twist is sitting there in his brown coat and Ennis is laying on his back, looking at him and Jack is trying to tell him that they could make a go of it. And Ennis turns and looks at him. Same look. It's a sort of sleepy, concentrated look.

Oh, before I turn in, I've got to tell you guys that we hit 66 degrees today. I was walking in shorts & a tank top. And at the park, there was a couple riding in a convertible with the top down. Then early this evening at some point, the wind changed and when we were out & about, it was 20 some degrees with a windchill in the upper teens. How's that for a change?
Every year, they have a Christmas tree drop at my park. That's where people who have live trees can go drop them off. Then the park people mulch them up and I don't know what they do with that stuff. But everytime I get out of my car, I get a big ol' Whiff of evergreen and right now, the aroma is just out of this world. There's a big stack of poor, discarded, dying Christmas trees piled there, near where I always park. No longer loved & on display. Soon to be mulch and probably dropped in the middle of the lake or something. Kind of sad.

Well, gotta get to bed - early church tomorrow. I'm going to be hurtin'.

That's Austin's hat Daddy's wearing and it smelled really good on Daddy and I stood up to get closer to sniff it I couldn't get enough of it because Daddy and Austin smell really good together and Daddy knew what I was after so he kept laughing and kissing me. It was a fun day. January 1, 2009 9:38 PM

  22. I voted for Good Girl too and any
kind of music would be fine with
me. This may sound odd but what
    about a really good roundtable
discussion of BB sometime? I had
    better rest today because tomorrow
it is back to working 3 days a
week for me! Believe it or not, I
am sort of glad to be going back!
I just wish some people could be a
little kinder. But that's life I
guess! I hope all of you have a
    good week ahead!!

  23. Yes PG, I loved Heath in Brothers Grimm. He made Jacob so sweet and charming. I watch it every time it comes on tv just for Heath. Im going to start watching Roar on Netflix even though im not really into that type of show. But Man - talk about HOTT. He was beyond sexy even then. I think the only one I havent seen fully is Dogtown. Thanks for reminding me about that. Ill put it on my Netflix list.

    Good luck at work Kacie.

Have a good sunday everybody. Im going to a b-day party after work so I wont be back til later on tonight.

  24. Hi All,

A little late to the party as usual, lots to talk about for the month of January I see! I picked both Movie Discussion/JFC Discussion because both are cool, and as far as movies, whatever anyone agrees on is fine, because I love most anything. Same for music discussion. I'm going to see Milk today (finally!) so I'm sure it's going to be great because the previews were. Previews are part of my movie experience.

Wow, love the Rosebuds; sorta remind me of the Smashing Pumpkins.

I have not seen Brothers Grimm and I have no idea why, because I know I would love it. Too many good movies to keep up with. I was in the same calendar boat as you, PG, because I wanted another BBM Calendar. This year I got India because I love it and because of Slumdog Millionaire. Cute quip from Jake about Darth Vader. Well, that's all the rambling and free associating I have for now. See y'all later -

  25. ^^I should say a x between The Smashing Pumpkins and The Stone Roses. Like it a lot. ;)

  26. Oh, Northeast, I really want to recommend Brothers Grimm to you. I didn't get the story quite at first, but gotta remember I'm a little slow when it comes to plots & whatnot. It's a fun movie. It's an escape movie. And it was a totally different kind of role for Heath because he plays a dreamer, a kind of nerdy guy. I don't know who the girl is in the movie, but she reminded me alot of Keira Knightley. I don't know if they really wanted Keira and couldn't get her, because the girl they did get is alot like her.
Have you seen Bend It Like Beckham? I know it's kind of a softie type movie, but it really is very good. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is great looking in it; he plays her soccer coach. Anyway, it reveals alot about Indian customs and plays quite a bit of Indian music. The colors are bright & beautiful and it really enlightened me on that religion. I learned alot and at the same time, got a sigh little romance.

  27. NOOOO!!! Bend it Like Beckham is another one that I desperately wanted to see but missed, PG. I'll definitely check that one out too. Dreamer Heath sounds dreamy. :)
