Happy 29th Birthday! From Austin Nichols Journal and Oh My Godot
Spooky and I have been wanting to do something together, what's more perfect than something for Austin's birthday. Lots of email, many hours, and lots of fun, together we created joint post with a fanmix to share with all of you to celebrate, complete with our own twist on the visual interpretation for each track. So check out both Austin Nichols Journal's and OMG's birthday post and help us send him best wishes for the coming year.
The Player is loaded with all the songs on the fanmix, click through and you can listen to one or all. The links below are there for you to download at make your own copy.
Happy Birthday Austin! May you have a year of filled with family, friends, love, happiness and success. Here's hoping you spend it with those who you love, your family and friends.
And hey - hope you get another super awesome cake. ; )
Happy Birthday Austin, you've proven to be such a good friend to Jake and now a very special one for us as well. May you always have your heart's desire and the good health to enjoy it.
A major shout-out to Spooky and Special for this tune-full tribute. This is all fun and filled with hopefulness. Enjoy a great Austin Friday everyone.
Not sure if it was clear in the post. Want a song, just click on the Track Title for each picture, and its yours. Austin's birthday and you get the gift.
Happy Birthday Austin! I hope that as you finish your third decade you will have the wisdom to remember and/or recognize what matters in life, and the courage to act on that knowledge.
Special and Spooky, this post today is amazing, truly a work of art. Thank you.
Happy Birthday Austin. I hope you and Jake spend the entire day enjoying each others company, followed by a few leaked photos for our pleasure.
A review of The Informers in today's SF Chronicle gave it a "very good". No mention of Austin though. The Sacramento Bee gives it 1 star out of 4. Mixed reviews will be the norm for this one I'm sure.
The NYT did not give it a good review, but it did start the review with the following paragraph, which kind of cracked me up:
Graham (Jon Foster) and Martin (Austin Nichols) are sitting in a Porsche parked in the hills overlooking Los Angeles. Graham is doing a lot of coke. Martin has been doing Graham’s mom, and also Graham’s girlfriend, Christie (Amber Heard), and also — as he points out just in case we were having trouble identifying the naked blond bodies piling up in various beds — Graham. But such doings are not on Graham’s mind. He is in a moral crisis: “I want someone to tell me what’s good. And I want someone to tell me what’s bad.” He goes on to ask what happens if there’s no one around to tell you what’s good and what’s bad.xx
***Austin Nichols as male hustler Martin (who, naked and perched over a prostrate Basinger, looks like Rubens's cherub as hallucinated by Elton John).***
Have you seen the short clip of that scene Spooky has up Wicked? It left me wanting to see more.
I was looking at Rotten Tomatoes last night, but I see the number has dropped. Yikes!
Well, I'm just going for the pretty people, especially Austin. Apparently one of the problems is a lack of humor, which I guess means I can't expect it to at last be another Showgirls. I also have to remember that Bubble Boy has a "Bomb" rating from Leonard Maltin which kept me from seeing that one for way too long. Plus there have been a few good reviews, the one M pointed out, and Time Out liked it.
Happy birthday dear Austin, my best wishes for you in your proffessional life and private life! I hope today is a wonderful day , full of surprises with people you love.
"Austin Nichols as male hustler Martin (who, naked and perched over a prostrate Basinger, looks like Rubens's cherub as hallucinated by Elton John)."
Despite solid performances all around, particularly with the suitably scumbaggy Rourke and the oddly charismatic-yet-devious Nichols (who gets to do something in this role besides look blank and speak incomprehensibly as the alien in the infuriating "John From Cincinnati"), the film is never quite able to make a case for itself.link /
Glad everybody is enjoying the music and the post. Spooky and I had a lot of fun working together.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Austin was promoted to series regular on OTH.
"Jane Lynch has been upped to a regular on Fox's new series "Glee," Austin Nichols has been promoted to regular on the CW's veteran drama "One Tree Hill," and Eddie Jemison has been made a regular on HBO's upcoming comedy "Hung." All have filled recurring roles."

Good to hear the despite the mixed review, Austin is getting good mentions for his work - the comments over on New Yorker are people want to see it, and there have other places wonder if the Informers will achieve cult like status despite/or because of the reviews.
They have been running the commercial more here, seen it a couple times just this afternoon.
Great Austin Friday, Austin's Birthday, the player worked!, Informers opens, Spring has really come to New England (and Summer tomorrow) and it's the first game of the Red Sox and Yankees of the season tonight. All is good.
OK people I told you the pictures have to occur on different days so it looks like he's in town and he's busy doing things so no one thinks he's with the boyfriend. Fuck.
Sorry if people can't get the player to work right now. We've exceeded our daily limit. But not to worry we will have the player available for you to click and play tomorrow too.
The player is no longer working. You know why? Because all of yiz (as we say in Philly) used up all of our daily bandwidth. Dunno, guess you must have liked it or sumthin'! :)
Tomorrow we will have renewed bandwidth and the player will be working again.
So, Jake was allowed out, to be seen out and about, establishing him there in LA, in Santa Monica, in Austin's Santa Monica on his b'day, while Reese was out of town? Shouldn't he be with her and all, I mean since she hearts him and all, he should want to be there for the scheduled photo ops, uh, I mean her.
Could he have been actually caught unawares this time?
I don't think Jakey was caught unawares. If he was, the photos would never have seen the light of day. Nor do I think he's on such a tight leash. Maybe he got bonus points for Coachella.
Ok all you Austin N. fans, so what did you think of the movie? I have not seen it yet, but the Washington Post tore it apart. Seems like most of the critics are taking jabs at it.
Good Morning you all, I am surely the first to be wake up here LOL
I love the new pics of Jake , specially the Lunch pics cause our boy looks in better mood than in the first breakfast pics : don't want to speculate but can't help to wonder if there is new on the professionnal side, a futur project! It would be fantastic! I had no idea who was this scriptwriter but "Traffic" and "Syriana" were interesting although very serious and dramatic: it's rather a good sign.
"Ok all you Austin N. fans, so what did you think of the movie? I have not seen it yet, but the Washington Post tore it apart. Seems like most of the critics are taking jabs at it.
How was it?"
Like you I am looking forward the reactions!! I am sure we are going to have all the details soon , I trust our OMG experts !!!!

ReplyDelete(LOL) Reese is tired of the constant speculation about her love life, and is considering tying the knot to put a stop to it.
ReplyDelete^ That's Life & Style rag story.

X17 pics Jake had lunch with some director guy.
ReplyDeleteIt's Steve Gaghan who wrote Traffic, Havoc, and Syriana
ReplyDelete4/24 Caffe Luxxe Jake pics. X17: Jake in jeans and gray T. IHJ: White shorts and gray hoodie. Someone in PR fucked up.
ReplyDeleteOK people I told you the pictures have to occur on different days so it looks like he's in town and he's busy doing things so no one thinks he's with the boyfriend. Fuck.
ReplyDeleteA Toyota SUV in the picture, I know I know it might not be his but - it always makes me think of one person, like some one who's birthday it is.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Caffe Luxxe might have been a morning breakfast and clearly to go.
I don't know I just get the feeling it wasn't a just Jake there.
Notice how he doesn't have his keys out and in his hand ready to open the car.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Austin
