While there seems to be something about that first week of April that is special to Jake and Austin. You know that TDAT has to be special too.
From interviews with Austin talking about how Jake tried to make him break up during filming, to cooking adventures and snowballs at the premiere. Hard to believe it has been 5 years since TDAT came out and almost 7 years since meeting each other.
Jake was a charmer with a lot of goofiness during his press for the big blockbuster. Some of you might have already seen this one, but it is too funny not post.
And it answers all those burning questions.
You thinks the Red Penguin that makes the man but Jake confesses you need the power of computers to make the man look good.
Jake's abnormal head size (now you think about all the new hats - you know no one can borrow them, well unless they are kind of tall and large, nothing tiny do not try) and it runs in the family.
Uncle Anders - once lived in Mineaopolis - but now Jake's gotta learn to say Hello Miami!!
A Tsunami did really roll through New York and Roland captured it.
And of course Jake watches Maury.
I can't imagine who that is at the top of the stairs, and looks like he's watching Jake too. ;)
ReplyDeleteSpecialllll!! I'm dying to see this whole post, but I had to go out @ lunch & get my sister in law a b-day card & also mail it today so it'd make it to the big W by Thursday so pfffft! there went my lunch hour. And I have to get buzzing so I can get out on time today. I'm dying to get a good look at that GQ cover; man, that looks great, lol. really. great.
ReplyDeleteSpecial, I thought it was just me. Daphne is beautiful & you can tell she barely has any make up on. I wonder if it's because she still looks really good and they need to make her look quite a bit older than Sophia. That's what I'm thinking.
Okay, gotta go, gotta go, to the ugly bug show, gotta go...
have a great afternoon, everyone!
And hey, at heart I am a Cubbie fan!!!Would I get clobbered if I wear a Cubbie shirt walking around the ballpark, do you think?
;D
The weird thing about the TDAT premiere is that Austin had pictures with everyone but Jake and Jake had pictures with everyone but Austin. Or did they? Will we ever know?
ReplyDeleteYet is obvious the both of them were watching each other. Austin from the stairs, and Jake throwing snowballs at Austin.
PG - The Cubs are even more long suffering than Sox fans. So I think you would be ok. : )
I really like that umbrella.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.

I looked at the larger version of that picture at the TDAT premiere: Jake shows no interest in the people beside him!
ReplyDelete^^for Jake I mean Austin!!
ReplyDeleteThose people Austin wasn't interested in was Jake's friend (and Austin's too) Matt Frost, and Austin's then fiancee Claire.
ReplyDeleteDear Ted:
ReplyDeleteHypothetically, when a well-known female acts as a beard for a well-known man, should we assume that she's also gay, even though she's been married and has children? I just can't think of any other reason she'd agree to do it.

Bitch Back
From the last post:
ReplyDelete. In comments, someone says this knocks out Jake as TT but then someone else says no, Ted is using Jake's real name. We all know Ted has meant Jake as TT over the years but it's curious what he says. Why mention TT not being in the poll at all, then?
Ted: and even our beloved Toothy's been outed—from the poll, that is, not from his closeted daily existence. Got excited there for a sec, didn't ya?.
Ted's comments were in round 3 of Awful Truth's Most Awful Celebrity.
Toothy was up against Judas Jackoff in the first round and got knocked out, but Ted puts a mention in the third round because he has Jake in the this round's voting, again linking TT and Jake.
Toothy's been outed—from the poll, that is, not from his closeted daily existence.
ReplyDeletecloseted daily existence = Jake Gyllenhaal
The trailer for Sherlock Holmes looks great!
ReplyDeleteWell, I can't believe we got back at a pretty decent time. We left in the 8th and we missed the 9th, when the Royals scored about 4 or 5 runs to win the game! Can't believe it. We had a good time and it was pretty cool to see how they have redone the entire stadium. I may have to email them, though, about that safety hazard they've created at the front of the ballpark. They took out the statues of Ewing & Muriel Kauffman, original team owners, and put in these big stone benches. They're huge and they block nearly one entire side of the entrance. If they have to have a mass exit from that ballpark, people would run right up into those things and it would really impede things. Not only that, but if someone ever trips and falls & hits their head or anything else on those stone benches, it might not be a good situation. I don't know what someone was thinking when they designed that. Sometimes, landscaping & appearance is put ahead of safety.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, a good time was had by all. Special, what did you say they sing at Fenway? They sing Garth Brooks' "I Got Friends in Low Places" at the K. Garth gets up there on the big scoreboard screen with his guitar and says a few words, then the fancam (lol) zooms around and shoots everyone singing to the song.
I got a kick out of that video. I've never seen that. I know there's alot I've never seen before so it was pretty cool to see this. That guy who's interviewing sure looks & sounds alot like that Mike guy from Fox News, who does that show with Jillian. A very young version of him. But that's not what Jake is calling him. Jake's so darn goofy in this. I didn't get to finish it but it was pretty entertaining.
Loved the first picture; I'm going to have to hang onto that one. Really liked the GQ cover.
Where is this guy, huh? Where'd he go? looks under every rock & stone there is. Did the fog sweep him away? Did he get lost on the luggage carousel during that Cabo trip and is still going 'round & 'round to this day?
Still waiting. Hopefully not Waiting in Vain, like that song that Annie Lennox sings. Hopefully, some glimpses will yet come. That song is soooo melancholy and beautiful the way she sings it. I never get tired of listening to it. It's got to be one of the most listened to songs on my Ipod & music player at work. Boy, that lady can sing.
Well, I need to hit the hay. Gotta get up @ 4 in the morning because I had to leave work on time and left alot undone. Whew, gonna be rough.
Where is everyone???? flf? netb? I remember last year when I'd get up in the morning and see that the night owls had kept things hoppin' on here. No night owls anymore. Shoot, not even any daytime sparrows today, lol.
I guess it'll take the next Reeking to get people out of the woodwork.
Ahhh, but we'll always have Paris. Fill in the blank.
Ahhhhh, but we'll always have________ .I could put The Lakers Game in there, but that's been kinda ruined now.
Hmmmm, let's see. Ah, but we'll always have....that parking lot garage.
lol!
Ah, but we'll always have the Jar.....
Ah, but we'll always have....the back of that SUV.
Oh, I got it!
Ah, but we'll always have the trailer....
lollll, oh, I kill myself sometimes. Well, getting a little loopy now. Time to make one futile check on LJ and then...now, there's yet another Jakefandom that's suffering a severe case of disinterest. That's LJ.
I'm afraid there are only a few stories being updated there. After Cockroachella, it really started to die a slow death. Shoot, alot of the posts there on people's journals aren't even about Jake anymore or Brokeback. They're about other hot celebrities or fandoms.
Ah, but we'll always have Paris. Wonder what movie that's from, anyway? It is from a movie, isn't it? Well, nite to all. I think I'm talking to myself anyhow, so I'll wish myself sweet dreams and sign off. lol
I love the picture of Jake and Austin during the TDAT premiere.
ReplyDeleteIn every single one that you can see Austin in the background, he's watching Jake. And there are quite a few where you can see him at the top of the stairs.
I also find it interesting that not only did both have their picture taken with the other co-stars and not each other, but also that appearantly Jake was flinging snowballs at Austin and we got no pictures of that either.
Probably if we had pics of them at the premiere together it would have been the same as in the movie: everybody would have just assumes it was a lovestory between the two guys...
Those people Austin wasn't interested in was Jake's friend (and Austin's too) Matt Frost, and Austin's then fiancee Claire.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. The fiancee. Wonder what her version of the story is??
Ah, but we'll always have Paris. /
ReplyDeleteRick: Last night we said a great many things. You said I was to do the thinking for both of us. Well, I've done a lot of it since then, and it all adds up to one thing: you're getting on that plane with Victor where you belong.
Ilsa: But, Richard, no, I... I...
Rick Blaine: Now, you've got to listen to me! You have any idea what you'd have to look forward to if you stayed here? Nine chances out of ten, we'd both wind up in a concentration camp. Isn't that true, Louie?
Captain Renault (Claude Rains): I'm afraid Major Strasser would insist.
Ilsa: You're saying this only to make me go.
Rick: I'm saying it because it's true. Inside of us, we both know you belong with Victor. You're part of his work, the thing that keeps him going. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.
Ilsa: But what about us?
Rick: We'll always have Paris. We didn't have, we, we lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.
Ilsa: When I said I would never leave you--
Rick: And you never will. But I've got a job to do, too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. [she begins to cry] Now, now...Here's looking at you kid.
Something else I didn't have time to write this morning:
ReplyDeleteI always found it very interesting that Roland Emmerich decided to expand Austins character to the point of having a completely new set of his hotel built in the middle of already shooting.
I can't help but think Roland also saw something there and wanted to use the chemistry between Jake and Austin in a few more scenes.
And from that little brush-up Austin gives to Jake in the one scene in the hotel room, it looks like the boys not only appreciated, but also took advantage of it :)
