They've gone to plaid

What happens when you mix Austin Friday and The Day After Tomorrow/Star Trek Movie Club later today? Well you get this:

You think somebody was practicing their best Sear Toughskins suit poses ? (Wonder if that suit is Toughskins tough? ; ) )

Hey have a great Austin Friday and stop back by tonight at 5:00pm EST for the start of our Movie Club of The Day After Tomorrow and a comparative discussion of TDAT and the newly released Star Trek.

We will keep this post open during all day today and Saturday for all non Movie Club discussion.

  2. Red Sox Swept the Yankees AGAIN!!!

That's 8-0 against the Yankees this season. Be afraid Philly. Be afraid.

  3. The Phils just went 7 and 3 on the road against the Yanks, Dodgers and the Mets. Actually they have the best road record in baseball. Not so great at home. The park has been rocking though. I think the Red Sox have the edge in the pitching matchups especially since they dont have to face Cole Hamels.
    We will see. Go Phils.

  4. I been prety tame lately. I just feel sad that Jake and now Austin have made such fools of themselves. I guess thats the nature of the business.

Seems like Natalie and Toby are getting Top Ten buzz for their performances for Brothers. No Top Ten for Jake. He might be between 15 and 20 right now. Abbie Cornish is also getting a lot of buzz. I have seen her in some Top Five Lists for Best Actress which could get her an Oscar nom.

I cant imagine how Jake will feel if PoP does not do so well. If that is what reeke has been about he will be devastated. So much time invested over the last couple of years. I feel guilty when I say he will have gotten what he deserves if it does not do well though.

  6. Just dropped Tink off at the vet. She has a lump on her back by her shoulder that is getting bigger and turning purple. They are going to remove it and do a biopsy. Tink was not too happy this morning. I think she was about to call the Humane Society because we had to withhold her breakfast!

  7. It's a good thing I'm not a Yankees fan.

I think there ought to be a law against men wearing plaid suits, and a law against Austin wearing turtlenecks.

  8. Special,

Where do you come up with all this amazing stuff? SpaceBalls, Ludicrous Speed, Gone Plaid, what's next...

John Candy was a comic genius and he is sadly missed but Rick Moranis (Lord Dark Helmet) is still around. Hope you aren't tripping over any of my Canadian Cultural references.

I'm hoping everyone is going to have a great Austin Friday... May the farce be with you.

  10. Here's hoping Tink has an easy time of it at the Vets and a good result from the surgery and the tests.

Sending good thoughts and vibes your way Wicked.

  11. Wicked, I hope that the results of
the tests are okay and that Tink
will really be okay. She is so full of life and joyful. I also
    hope Potter, Carina, and Peabunny

  15. This is an awful look for Austin. He should stay away from buzz cuts, alien hairdos and turtlenecks. But interesting ring. Does it have a dark stone and is this the same one he had around his neck?

  17. I can't make out enough of the ring to see what it really looks like, other than a gold band.

I cannot access that austin-nichols.net site; everything is kind of gray-looking, and none of the links work for me. I've tried several different browsers too.

  18. So Cantera is getting the audience she probably always wanted. I love how it comes right after a story on "Toothy Sienna"; I'm sure it's intentional.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Destiny must have missed that one. What was the story on "Toothy Sienna"?

This is one angry woman. Hard to believe she would not spill the beans on Jake if she really knew. Just shows that she has no clue and wasnt that close to the G clan.
    She basically said nothing new.

  21. The story was just about her "toothy grin" being on the cover of some magazine.

If Ava and Reese are going to wear matching outfits, I think Deacon and Jake should do the same. I suggest those suits with the shorts you see on little boys. In powder blue. After all, Reeke already has that mommy and child vibe going on, and Jake would look adorable dressed up like Deacon.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi guys, still on my road trip but finally had some uninterrupted free time to catch up on the news. Web surfed frantically so just had time to skim, not read carefully. The Cantera blowup is interesting. I always thought that was an accident waiting to happen. She seemed to be crazy about papa, but I don't think he reciprocated. A recipe for disaster. The part about wanting to kill Naomi is really bad. I hope Jake does not hear that.

As for OTH, saw a new guy selected, not BAG. Cant recall his name now, but he is gorgeous with a great body. Jake better keep an eye on Austin during filing.

I'll be back to normal Sunday. See you all then.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maybe Reeke could get Rufus to sing for them at the wedding. Nothing would validate a sham marriage like inviting a few "gays" to make it legit.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The ring Austin is wearing is Big Blue. One thing to note about Larimar that more exposure to light, the lighter the stone becomes.

Seaweed - the way my mind works frigthens many. : ) And Toughskins - anyone remember them, with their reinforced knees? ; )

Funny about the In Touch Weekly - out today just got back and in Borders - saw the In Touch cover and you know what was missing on it? The Reese wedding dress story. It might be in the mag, but it was in the teasers on the cover, at least the run of the ones up here.

And wow what do you say of the whole Cantara Gyllenspiel.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hey guys! I am still without a laptop and hopefully I hear from the guys before they close tonight, if not it will be tomorrow. Boy, I went last night to pick it up and then he was testing it one more time, and nada! It wouldn't come up. So I am still without. What. A. Drag.

That's kind of funny, Special, about that wedding dress story not being on the cover. I just figured that link was showing the cover as it was going to come out. That's how People & Us Reekly do it. hmmm.

Okay, well, I have one comment to make over on the movie line and then I don't know if I'll be on anymore tonight or not. It's kinda looking like "not".

Wicked, I have been thinking about you & the family all day. Praying for good results and I hope Tink is recuperating alright this weekend.

Have to say that I think its hilarious that Reese (and Jake by association) are now reduced to flogging perfume for Avon. Not to be a snob, but could you get any tackier.

  29. Best wishes to Tink for a speedy recovery : )

  30. Tink is home and is trashed from the anesthesia. She keeps bringing me the ball but her body is going from side to side, her head's bobbing up and down, and her feet keep sliding out from under her. She has some stitches that will need to come out. The vet said what she had was an enormous zit! Only Tink, I swear.

I saw the In Touch article. The main thing they talked about was how Ava and Reese would be wearing matching dresses for the wedding and that they already have 50+ matching mother/daughter outfits. Funny, I don't think I've ever seen them photographed wearing matching outfits.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Poor stoned Tinky. Zit aint bad. We can live with that.

Tink and Wicked also have 50 matching outfits.

Good game so far Spesh. Lester is sure cute.

  34. Ted's column today.

    Dear Ted:
I have to comment about this Adam Lambert semi-bashing you've been doing lately. Although I can understand your frustration, let's put things into perspective. Idol just ended less than a month ago and Adam has already been seen out and about with his partner and has admitted he'll answer all of our questions in Rolling Stone. That doesn't seem at all like someone who is in the closet or hiding his sexuality. It tells me he's looking for the right opportunity to tell us what we wanna know. As far as I'm concerned, he's eons away from closet cases like Toothy Tile, who have gone so shamefully far as to employ a beard with children and parade around just to get papped and prove he's straight. Who is the true coward, Ted? Go a bit easier on Adam. He'll let his freak flag fly soon enough.

Does anyone think Jake is not Toothy?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Even if Jake is the straightest man in the world the multiple proposals and rejection/delays has to be the most pathetic behavior going, on the part of both parties. Is the PR so tone deaf to believe this is helping both their public images? Is Reese really so delusional that she thinks that this improves her image? Is this all that they can think of to promote this relationship?

    I just seems sad...

  36. Good Lord - The Sox are going to kill me one of these days. But they prevailed. 5-2, it only took 6 pitchers and 13 innings. And I didn't yell too much

I know the feeling. My dog was throwing up for 2 days straight and I was frantic. 2,000 bucks later I was told it was just a bad case of acid reflux..aaaggg. But hey, he's still here so i'm grateful.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Good to hear it was zit for Ms. Tink and nothing more serious. Last night on the news was a store of family dog who swalloed 8 golf balls and they didn't know it, talk about a vet bill.

Cantara thing - you know she made a fatal flaw in her wackness of writing. She decided to piece it out. Stupid move and you can tell she is doing more for attention. (Is she the scorned women or just crazy is the question) If she really wanted to blow the doors off she would have dropped everything at once. Now that she has announced that she is going to write up pieces all 4 G's can slap injunctions on her.

I don't know if anyone has seen The Bee Season (Richard Gere and Juliet Binoche) very good movie - Naomi wrote it. But watching it I kept catching glimpse of her own family in it. Write what you know, like Running on Empty. And it gives a really interesting perspective now looking at it with different eyes. The parents relationship, Gere's relationship with his daughter, and Binoche's resentment, the secrecy of the son not wanting to have know anything, the closeness of the two kids.

  46. Oh, I am so relieved to hear about Tink, Wicked. What an ordeal, though. And the waiting. Isn't that terrible? But a deliriously happy outcome and I am so thankful for you all. There's joy in Wickedville, that is for sure. I bet even Potter was doing a happy dance, wasn't he?

I am coming to you via my sister's new Mac notebook. She's let me on it before although she doesn't know I'm on it right now, lol. Aw, I can't be bothering her while she's in NYC. I didn't even think I could get on it. I'll have to tell her I was able to just crash into it. I think because I was on it last, it let me right into my email, since we share the same provider account. Thank goodness, though.

Because it is very sad news on my STUPID LAPTOP!! Can you believe I'm not even positive what happened? The young Swedish type blond guy thought it came from my unplugging my camera wrong. But the head guy, John, he isn't sure but it definitely is my hard drive. He says alot of times all it takes is a drop or jolt or something and that can cause a crash. For crying out loud, it is enough to make you afraid to take it anywhere except leave it on your desk, don't it?

I know one thing, I am buying a much better laptop case. The one I have was a gift from a friend & I was elated to have it, but John said you can buy really good laptop cases that would provide better protection than others.

What's taking so long is they're trying to recover the info on my hard drive and that's the sad part. Luckily, I just saw all my email contacts & stuff just now when I signed on here. That is a humongous phew. That would've been just disastrous because I have so many on there for my church work. It would've just been horrible.
And thank goodness most of my I Tunes music is saved on my external hard drive, thanks to the other comp. gurus that I usually go to. And I have receipts on all my music so I can ask for the latest downloads I didn't get on my external hd.

But my Word documents. If I don't get those, you will hear me wail like never before!! Special, my story was on there & I never printed it out!!!!
    Oh dog.

LOLL, like anyone is reading this. I think I am venting for myself. Pay no mind to me. I've been computerless for over 24 hrs. I think I got on last night before I left, but I'm not sure.

Oh, and my pictures. Not my camera pics. I still have those. But all the pictures I have saved for my desktop. Oh, and my bookmarks. Oh, woe is meeeee!!!!!

He said they have recovered a little and that's why he wants to keep it because if they can get anymore, he knows that 's what I would want.

So, anyway, least I have ol' sis's!! Oh well, it'll be alright. I've cried a little bit but well, it could be alot worse. It's still gonna cost. I might just get a new laptop. That thing has sure cost me some money. I could've bought another one so far with the $$ spent and they make them with so much more memory now.

Sorry to go on. I just had to get all that out. Just let this be yet another 1-point lesson for everyone. Be very, very careful with your laptop!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well, it appears to be yet another quiet weekend. I was at my local Price Chopper this morning after having that MRI done, cha ching! there goes more $$$, and saw that In Touch Weekly at the checkout. It does still have Reese down there in the bottom right corner. What a sorrowful article. The couple of quotes they have are from someone new, though!! "A pal" of Reese's. Hey, at least not that often quoted "inside source". And once again, it quotes this "pal" as saying how much Jake adores Reese's 2 kids and they're all just such a good fit.

    uh......Whut?

For those who seem to almost be begging for a wedding, come on. I know I'm not going to work myself up worrying over something until it actually happens. And not that it can't. But I'm still waiting for Star Mag's article to come true. You know, the one I re-quoted last year, the one that had a full 2 page spread with Reese visiting that hotel in California, speaking to the wedding planner or whatever they were. What happened with that? Or the wedding on Martha's Vineyard that was also supposed to take place last summer? Where is that person who was dropping all those little hints & "just wait & see, it's going to happen" comments.

If anyone ever wants to get into the ol' chatroom, I'd love to have a pow wow over the why you think there's going to be one versus why not. Really, I'm serious.

I may have to call ol' sis on her cell, though, and find out where the AC plug for this thing is. Now that I am on here, LOL, I have once again reclaimed connection to the cyber world.

I know Mac's are supposed to be the most secure, but this touch pad drives me absolutely insane. You have to press down everytime. It's not a scrolling, wheely-type touchpad. What the heck. And there's no right click button. And I can't even tell how to open another browser.

Well, I'm off to LJ and check some stories, see if I've missed anything.

  49. lol, thanks, Smiley. Boy, one minute you're on it just pecking away and the next, your laptop is dying on the operating table.

Usually, I'm not one to repeat "droppings" of info. I just got off WFT2 and someone has "dropped" a heads up that Jake is in Tennessee, I presume to meet Reese's family. Hmmm.

Now, if that were to prove true, funny how that request was made right here on OMG back in May.

And, you know what? I am really getting pretty tired of these anonymous "tipsters". Yes, Jake & Reese were in NY. It was bill paying time, tho. You know, 2 weeks and all.

And now someone's dropping us a "tip" that Jake is in Tennessee. Which leads me to believe that this person is in PR with these 2. Because they know that this kind of news will get all kinds of wonderings and comments just like mine.

Which would also just go to show how much PR monitors these 2 sites. And why would they? Why would they be so concerned? Why are they so tempted to raise the blood pressure here? Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

So, we'll see. This oughta be good. I want to see how well Jake knows Reese's rarely seen family.

  51. But, oh, wait. I guess I ought to issue a disclaimer so as to spare you all from another big cuss-word rant.

I, pg, make no claim to know of the identity of said bird "droppings" made on WFT2 and gossiped about now on OMG. I make no "assumption" of secure knowledge that it is PR. Only a conjecture. I also am not asking for any further disclosures via twitter links. If someone wishes to publish a twitter link recording such a Tennessee sighting, I wish no harm upon such said person and they may twitter link to their heart's content. I also clarify that I am not responsible for such twitter link publishing, that it would be the sole desire of the said link-er, and not issued due to any request by this party. I also refuse any ownership of gratefulness or indebtedness for any twitter linkages

I love my Mac laptop, I know the pad is strange at first but at least for me I quickly fell in love with having a pad instead of those little buttons or whatever else they use on PCs.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yes, Rags, there was, and it talked about how the whole family together 'played' outside in the Fall air. Lainey even picked up the story.

Except that it rained all day that year. I know 'cause I lived there.

    ReplyDelete
  58. "Lainey even picked up the story."

No, Lainey didn't repeat that crap.

Lainey: A source tells me she spent Thanksgiving yesterday at her uncle’s in Brentwood, TN– at one point seen running through the leaves outside with her children. Cute! And no Jakey in sight.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh, it's bad alright. Really, really bad. This thing is now officially a piece of crap. Pardon my language, but I am pretty downhearted.

I don't have anything. I don't even have my wireless internet or wireless printing. No pictures. No Word documents. No nothing. He said they managed to save a little, but I don't know what it was that they saved, lol. No bookmarks. It is ground zero.

I guess I'll re-download everything. I don't know. I'm really tempted to just get a new one. I don't trust this thing now.

Just like my Saturns. I had things go out on both my Saturns just before the warranty went out. The second time was on my sharp looking 3-door coupe. That one was a blown gasket before it was barely about 1 1/2 yrs old and was going to cost $500 to fix. I said forget it; I've lost my faith in Saturn, they've burned me twice on my cars & never again. And I didn't fix it. I got my present car within a day & got rid of that thing.

Boy, at least I have most of my I-tunes on my external hard drive. And I have the majority of my church people addresses & phones printed out. I suppose the pictures aren't a huge deal; can go back & get the ones I want, hopefully, thanks to IHJ.

Ah well. Could be worse. Gives me something to do, lol!

Hey, wait! I have everything on my Ipod. I wonder if I can transfer from my Ipod back to Itunes? I'll have to ask them.

Do you guys think I should reload my stuff back on here? I wonder if it's worth it. They put a new hard drive in here but I wonder if I can trust it. I think I should just buy a whole new laptop. I think I should go ask my other gurus, the ones I should've gone to first, who are near where I work.

Oh lookit. I even lost my blogger picture. I wonder if I lost my Prairie Girl blog then, cause where's my picture at?

Well, don't need to go on about this. Guess what's on the agenda for tonight while I make my salad to take for a funeral meal tomorrow. It's a new recipe, a big 9 x 13 salad. I hope it turns out alright.

    ReplyDelete
  60. "He said they managed to save a little, but I don't know what it was that they saved, lol."

Happened to me once. Hard disk data recovery was costly, but I got almost everything back.

    ReplyDelete
  61. You're so fortunate, smiley. I'm glad you didn't lose much. I didn't really have a ton of stuff, but gee whiz, all those pictures. I'll just have to go back & find them; could be worse things to happen. And at least my camera still has all the pictures on it that I want. What gets me is it didn't seem that serious at first. It was just kind of in ICU. But then, kabluey! And all of a sudden it was Code Blue and DOA.

I'm really thinking about just getting a new one. This is a Dell and it would be easier to go with Dell but I'm just not sure.
I need to throw this one out there - What kind of opinion do you have of Dell? Aren't they good? I thought they were. But gee whiz, my screen went out last year and that was like about, I forget how much it was; it was terrible. Wouldn't you think your screen should good for a good while?

Here I had all day to make my salad and now it's going on 8 o'clock and as usual, last minute.

Hey, there's a couple of hot air balloons outside. They are so pretty up there - it's been awhile since I've seen some. Has anyone ever ridden in one of those? It seems like it'd be fun. But oh, those power lines. And would have to take Dramamine. I dunno. Dramamine might not even help with those things.

  62. Pretty much every sighting in the last few months has been true. I would not be surprised at all to see the Clampetts down yonder in Tennessee very soon. I doubt you will see any of reeses family but the photos will place reeke in Tennessee. It will be unbelieavble if we get them PG. Everything we ask for anymore we pretty much get.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Of course, Tom, let it be known that, ahem, I'm not asking for anything anymore, lol! Not only at someone else's request to stop, but how much more proof do we need that Reese's gang reads this thing like a daily horoscope?

My one & only request still stands, tho, and that's one of her in the courtyard and they know what courtyard I'm talking about. I want a big ol' 5 x 7, glossy or matte finished (doesn't matter), framed picture. Standing right there with Jake & his folks.

    That's it. All I want.

After that, I'm done with the wish list. They need to come up with their own stinkin ideas. Why should we give her ammo for all her twisted feelings inside?

Every sighting has not been true, either. The New York City, yes.

    Egypt? no.

Martha's Vineyard (of both her & him together, now, not just her)?
    no

The 2009 family spring break vacay as mentioned by I can't remember which one now, US Reekly or Star.
    Any there? no.

Thanksgiving 2007 with Jake, Reese, Maggie, Peter? no

Reese actually at the wedding? no

The big birthday bash 2009 with family et all present? no

The big lingerie store exit?? uh, no.

Not every one. Not the "big ones". There's still a few other things I'm waiting to see that we've been told about so many times. But I'm not mentioning them on here. Let 'em figure it out.

Come on, Tom, chin up! Do I need to call you tomorrow & try the ol' pep talk? lol

Okay, well, check out the time. Whew, it's late. I've spent time trying to find some of my pictures that I had. What a mess.

And now to finish the salad! Everyone have a terrific evening of sleep. I was out the door at 5 this morning to go walk at my park. Haven't been there in, gosh, can't even recall the last time. It was wonderful. Actually felt like singing out loud once again.

You know. I just had an idea. Instead of asking for all these stupid things. If the genie in the bottle is working that well, we ought to change our requests.
We need to change the stragegy.

Like wishing for a new man for Reese.

Like wishing for a new Austin/Jake sighting, sans post-Reekefest.

huh? Do I need to dodge the sandbags for that last wish? Can I just throw that one out there?

And one last thing. Where is our Austinpoo. Funny we've not heard from him for awhile. So, let it be said that even if there's an unsightly surprise tomorrow morning, just remember. Austin is not to be heard from either for awhile. So, just something to ponder.

Okay, boys & girls, cats & jammers!! There is alot to be thankful for & happy about.

Especially if you have a laptop/desktop in working order. Do me a favor. Hug your computer tonight, k? Give it a big ol' wet kiss & tell it that you love it and don't ever wish any harm to it. That you'll guard it with all your might.

You can tell it's getting late cause I'm gettin' chatty & making no sense whatsoever. Loopy.

Sweet dreams & now to finish the salad.

  64. Slight addendum.

That Thanksgiving 2007 was to take place in Hawaii, of all places. This was reported by some Chicago paper, if I do recall right.

  65. Man, even I'm tired of hearing from me. LOLLL! But I have to share this because I am going to bed with a lightened heart.

I just checked my email and I had an email from a good LJ friend. I had sent her a couple of documents that I was working on and she still had them!!!!
She sent them to me. Is that awesome or what? I am absolutely just beside myself with happiness.

Hey, avatar's back. Alright, I have just got to head to bed. Salad turned out great! When the bowl licks absolutely delicious, you know you have a good thing. I wish I could taste the whole thing - will just have to try it for another event or meal, I guess.

Tomorrow starts our summer of church services outside, as long as it doesn't rain. We take our lawn chairs and can dress casual. The church has an area where we all sit besides a meditation area and a labrynth. They bring a portable keyboard out there and it's really quite nice.

    Sweet dreams once again!!!

  66. Sorry to hear about your PC troubles PG. Please remember to back up everything that you want to ever see again to a disk or backup drive. A computer can go down at anytime for any reason. Trust me I know what im talking about.

  68. PG I feel so bad about your computer. Oh how heartbreaking. The good things are that someone on LJ had some of your chapters, your Itunes were saved being on the external and some things were recoverable. But it still rots. Big Time. Know you have done a good thing sharing your tragedy, because everyone on OMG is making sure they've backed up their hard drives this weekend.

I like your idea about a change in strategy too. Remember back a few summers ago, we all liked coffee pictures, since one popped up with a tall Texan and very engaging gentleman? Don't worry you will see Austin in about 2-3 weeks since OTH starts filming in July. And those OTH fans will be out cameras ready. Think right now he's just enjoying his summer break with his family and friends.

Tom - I will let you have your own moment alone about your Phils. But remember it doesn't count in the NL standings , there's your silver lining today.

  69. Good morning!!!! How is everyone today????

Oh boy. What a deal. Boy, yeah, did I learn a lesson the hard way. Who would think that something like this can happen? ooh, there goes a policeman patroling the grounds. Who's he looking for?

Oh, I almost forgot. In perusing the internet last night, dare I say it? Don't want to upset anyone. But it is kinda funny, you have to admit.

There's pictures on JJ (I think it was JJ) of that Zachary Squinto out & about with a gal pal. And they're doing what?? They shopping!! What is it with these guys and their shopping.
Yup, a big ol' One Point Lesson. I think I am just going to get a new laptop. I don't like this one anymore. lol.
It is in my doghouse. Well, I guess it still works fine. It's like a brand new one, actually, because it hardly has anything on it, LOLL! Except now I have Word 2007 and I had heard that the new Word stinks and boy, does it ever.

You know, reading up on computers last night online and it's good to read other people's reviews on current ones. Boy, some people have had their computers crash several times. Once was enough for me, thanks. We'll have to just take a looksee at what is in the ads today and who has the best Interest Free Deals!!

Well, everyone have a good Sunday. I am back to the Web to reclaim some pictures and bookmarks.
