Government Approved

Yeah I know. But sometimes Twitter can be inspiring.

Like this one:
Two hours into the conference and one thing is clear, people working for the US government love Jake Gyllenhaal- Funkier
Reasons the US Government Loves Jake Gyllenhaal

Made Santa a hot Marine. Hooah!
Al Gore might have brought the Powerpoint but Jake brought the sexy back to global warming.
He's the pin up boy in the CIA analyst offices
He's the face of the new "Protect Yourself against H1N1" campaign.
We all wanted to make out with Jen Aniston too.
He's the Mahmoud Ahmadinejad we can reason with.
Getting a little more governmental:

And it looks like other countries' government might get a chance to fall for him too. The G20 Summit is meeting in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh? G20? What the heck? Well President Obama said Pittsburgh because it has transformed itself from the city of steel to a center for high-tech innovation – including green technology, education and training, and research and development. But still thinking it's "the government just love Jake."

Having that many world leaders in one place means security. And in a city that has 3 rivers, 59 river bridges (of the 2000 bridges in Allegheny Co) and 6 major tunnels that cut through surrounding mountains, it means no one is getting anywhere anytime soon, and that's even before the protesters. There was mention that production of LaOD was moving 3o miles out of Pittsburgh to shoot the next couple of days.

It may also mean that Jake finds a bike or puts on the kicks and takes transportation matters into his own hands. Talk about a work out. Although looking like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on a bike might not be the best idea.

  1. Sounds like Jake is filming in Squirrel Hill today. And from tweets it sounds like he's living in Shadyside. (Both are Pittsburgh neighborhoods) Shadyside's and had a blend of artists, academia, musicians, families and gay couples. It's a blend of the creative and affluent, with boutiques galleries and restaurants. It's a great neighborhood.

  2. Jake has tons of free time. Bearding is PR work and an investment in his career.

Reese Witherspoon is desperate for publicity and she-has-it-all public image, and unfortunately she is in position to make PR demands - but she is just a marketing tool, like any other beard.

  3. Jake Gyllenhaal's Hard Body Captured in Lego Form

Dozens of celebrities have been immortalized with wax replicas at Madame Tussauds, but how many people can boast a Lego miniature action figure? Well, Jake Gyllenhaal for one.

In honor of Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Lego is releasing a set – including a mini-Jake figurine! – next year. The film will hit theaters May 28, 2010.

  4. Another great post - fun to hear about the neighborhoods Jake is filming in. :)

  5. Dear Ted:
I have such a love-hate thing going on with your Blind Vices. I'm obsessed with finding out who they are, and at the same time, I'm disgusted with myself for even wanting to know. I know you can't reveal most Vices, but will you help me get a little closer to overcoming my obsession by telling me if Toothy Tile is featured in your Blind Vice Superstars gallery? And is Rob Pattinson's B.V. Twilight related?

    Dear Pushing It:
On the first part, I'll give you this: probably. No comment on the second.

  6. "Actors, Authors, Others," a gallery exhibit of the work of Don Florence that benefits the Playwrights Realm Theater Company, opens in New York Sept. 24.

Florence is known for his celebrity portraits, including those of Joel Grey, Anne Hathaway, Jude Law, Daniel Craig, Woody Allen, Tennessee Williams, Ethel Merman, Liz Taylor, Terrence McNally, Nathan Lane, The Marx Brothers, Dorothy Parker, Sir Ian McKellen, Edward Albee, Paul Newman, Marilyn Monroe, Neil Simon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger, Gloria Vanderbilt, Barbara Hutton, Babe Paley, Rock Hudson, James Dean, David Sedaris, Meryl Streep and Marlon Brando.

  7. Probably? What kind of lame answer is that.

  8. By this point everyone has dreamt about bringing Jake Gyllenhaal back to their apartment. Well, now you kinda can play house with the actor. Lego has created a line of "Prince of Persia" figurines and this is what Mr. G's looks like.

The arms are a little less impressive, but the plastic guy's hair looks a million times better than the dead cat Jake sported on his head for the May 28 release. Looks like I know what I'm asking Santa for this Christmas!

  9. Until the era of tweets or whatever the hell they are is over. I will no longer participate ib this blog.

  10. Sorry to hear that Tom since I don't think twitter is going away.

I'm also a bit puzzled as I have not seen any Reeke tweets posted on here in ages. But more importantly, I also don't see why it is any different than any other kind of sightings, tabloid mentions, etc.

  11. Trying to stop twitters is like trying to stop Niagra Falls. Aint gonna happen. The best thing to do is to treat them like comments - that is all they are really, just someone's comment.

  12. I look for inspiration in everything. It helps boost my creativity, I never know what will inspire me and that's what makes things exciting doing the posts. Sorry Tom if you aren't a fan of twitter, but agree with Dest. Don't think it will be going away for awhile or until the next new communication tech trend gets created.

Don't think there have been any Reeke tweets, because there hasn't been Reeke. Reese is getting stuff about being out being photographed and Jake has tweets about filming and being seen around Pittsburgh. The X17 is the first Reeke thing that has been tweeted since the sigthings in NYC.

  13. Oops I forgot to put this in today's post.

JFC Discussion reminder: The rescheduled discussion is this Friday at 5pm EST through Saturday. The discussion is on Episode 6: His Visit Day 5. This was one of the best episode of the series and really showed Austin's craft as an actor. Hope you can join us to discuss.

I really liked this episode of JFC and hope there are some who want to talk about it.

  15. Now check out the title of this story and it tells you who's turn it is at the media spinner. Hollywood's Beloved Blonde?

See what happens if you go shopping, one photo agency says something, it leads to a bigger media outlet using it. And you get publicity, don't have to deal with a less than enthusiastic "bf", or do a movie, and all you did was just popped on one of freebies you got from Avon.

  16. Tom, you do realize that PR is hoping people at OMG and WFT will be run off by all the twittering about Reeke. You're giving them what they want by leaving for that reason.

Sadly for Jake Reeke has run off a lot of other fans as well. Jake will never get that A-list status he wants.

  18. He's the face of the new "Protect Yourself against H1N1" campaign.

I LOL'd about this line with the Jimmy in his bubble pic. Very cute. :)

And speaking of SNL - Jake as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on SNL - I Ran was very sharp and cleverly done. Andy Samburg is very sharp. And D**k in a Box, so funny. lol

  19. I found this site called the Surrealist. You can just type in a name and they'll generate you some random trivia.
I thought they're pretty funny, especially Nr 5 for Jake and Nr 2 and Nr 4 for Austin.

  20. Oh now, Tom, come on. Come on, buddy. If I can scroll, you can too. actually I don't scroll; I read, then I pause & decide if I want to reflect or ponder, then I scroll!!

^^^ man, where is my beta. She would mark that first paragraph of mine all up with red markings. It's got all kinds of mess ups in it but hey, I don't care.
This week has just gone by so fast it's been incredible. One minute it was Monday, now it's Thurs night.

We had a guy at work attend an afterwork retirement dinner/drink thing and I guess he got real loaded. And they said alot of people offered to give him a ride home but he said he was fine. And he had a wreck on the way home and a post or something went through his arm/shoulder. They had to leave it in and life flight him to the hospital.

Man, what a wild party. I hope those people all learned something from that. I don't know the fellow - he works the night shift.

I am dogsitting tomorrow night but hopefully I should have an internet connection. This is the wiener dog house. I just love my room at their house. It's upstairs and it has a sloped ceiling, the walls are painted periwinkle and there's windows alongside the bed that let me look down over the hearthroom where the dogs sleep. It's like a fairytale room and I just love it. The wonderful benefits of dogsitting.

And I am still thinking about Austin in his black boxer briefs.
Those screencaps of Spooky's are just unbelievable. Buckin. I am buckin' for a Buckin. Those OTH writers need to get those 2 guys in an episode together.

  21. And I've also been writing. Alot. It's going to be another slam of chapters, guys. There's heartache and heartbreak and then there's going to be a little run in with the Moose Fire Dept. That's all I'm going to say. Don't worry, there's no fire, tho.

It'll be a little while yet, tho. There's still upcoming surgeries I'm certain of it, lol.

  22. PG, so happy to hear you are writing. There seems to be a big lull in slash lately. Too many authors have moved on. Heath's death had a big impact. Too many stories update so slowly, I've forgotten the story until I read the new chapter. For some reason, I just can not get into any other characters.

  23. Hi PG, glad to hear you've been putting your time away from us to good use. But I still haven't even begun to catch up, and now you tell me there's going to be another slam of chapters. I could really use a week off at home just to catch up on all my reading (you should see my magazine piles).

Thanks Let's Duel, I really got a kick out of reading those. I like the one about Austin keeping away the vampires.

New "old" pictures of Jake like that just make me feel very sad for the Jake that we don't seem to see anymore.

  24. I can't either, m. Jack & Ennis forever, as they say. There's alot of cradam action out there and that Jared/Jsomething or other from that TV show, Supernatural. I just can't get into any of that.

Now. The ONE exception would be Buckin. lol. I'm not kidding. But I need some inspiration from OTH. So far, they're not helping.

I am very excited about Ellen being in AI this year. I am going to watch just to see her. One of my cubemates said that Ryan Seacrest is very close to Ellen, that he's on her show all the time and that he goes to her house for Thanksgiving and other holidays. I had no idea they were so close.

Back to Word now. Short evening. Got 2 loads of laundry in and now it's one more day to the workweek.
Everyone have a nice evening and sweet dreams.

  26. There's cradam action out there? Never thought to look for that, going to have to check it out.

I would also love to see some Buckin stories.
