Sister Sister

Jake and Austin have co-starred with some of the same people, Jake's worked with his own sister, but did know you they've co-starred with sisters?

The Deschanel Sisters.

Most will remember Zooey in Good Girl as the Cheryl who worked at the Rodeo Round Up, and her overhead announcements , make over tips, and her unique way of saying thank you to the customers.

And then of course the musical routine she and Jake did for Sundance.

But did you know that Emily Deschanel was in Glory Road with Austin? She played Mary Haskins, Coach Don Haskin's (Josh Lucas) wife.

We know that Austin loved Zooey's latest movie 500 Days of Summer from his recent . Wonder if he's a fan of former co-star Emily's show Bones?

Musical Mystery Tour Day 2

Fran Healy and Andy Dunlap from the band Travis performed at an event "billed as 'An Evening with Fran Healy and Andy Dunlop from Travis: A Chronological Acoustic Journey Through the Travis Back Catalogue- Laugh Out Loud Stories, Scottish Accents, Handsome Scottish Men, Naked Torsos.' "

During the course of the show they gave the back story to their music. And in the course the evening Jake was mentioned as inspiration.

The question is which Travis song was inspired by Jake? (I'm trying to figure this one out too.)

Check out this review and see if there are any clues to the answer.

Fran Healy & Andy Dunlop from Travis at The Swedish American Hall, 10/8/09

  1. Great song today - love Travis too. I'll have to think about which of their songs was inspired by Jake! Best wishes to everyone in DC today! :)

  2. I loved Zooey in Good Girl but not so much in 500 Days of Summer. Maybe something to do with the characters! I have a softer spot for Emily, love her in Bones and love her smile for Austin/Jerry at the end of Glory Road.

  3. Loved Zooey in Elf, and that's the first time I had heard her sing.

I like the way Emily plays off of David Boreanaz in Bones. Thanks London for reminding me of the scene of her smiling for Austin/Jerry.

  4. About the Matthew Sheppard Bill. The House passed it, it goes to the Senate next week and then it hits Pres. Obama's desk who said before he was ready to sign it into law.

  5. yeah for the matthew sheppard bill. before you know it, gay people are going to be almost as important as regular people. it might even happen in our lifetime. *Sigh*

at work the other night, there was a conversation going on between two of my CHRISTIAN coworkers about how they might react if their children grew up to be either: gay or involved in an interracial relationship. one said he wouldn't like it, but he wasn't going to hate his kid regardless of what he did. the other didn' really say how he felt, and i'm glad, because these are people i like (for other reasons) and i hate it when folks air shit about themselves that makes me unable to like them anymore.

it always takes me back to religion, tho. why does the Bible and the church condone bigotry? the only reason good Christian people can hold their heads up high and spout that crap is because they haven't been taught that it's wrong in their churches.

as usual, i didn't say anything. my only excuse is: it was late and almost time to go home, and they already know how i feel and it wouldn't have changed their minds at all anyway. they think i'm a freak, and wtfe - maybe i am. :(

  6. Just want to pass along my best wishes to Tom, Wicked, PG, and Destiny and all their friends as they take part in the National Equality March in DC. We'll look forward to hearing from you after the event.

Also, as this is our Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada just want to say that we have so much to be thankful for in both Canada and the US, in spite of the challenges we face.

Safe travels for everyone on the road this weekend.

  8. There have been a couple tweets about Reeke in NYC

    ReplyDelete
  9. You know what's weird about those tweets is that Jake's name is misspelled in all of them of course Reeses's isn't.

    Tweet 1

    Tweet 2

    Tweet 3

It is me or do you find it weird Tweet 1 and 2 have the same way to misspell Jake's name, usually if you are misspelling Gyllenhaal you misspell it Gyllenhall, not Gyllenhal. And what is up with the in brackets (at Prune) thing. It just seems odd.

Don't know it all just seems kind of hinky. Why would Reese fly to Pittsburgh for one day and then fly up to NYC the next?

Always think of no news of Jake and Austin falling off the radar and then a Reeke sighting popping up means that Jake and Austin are somewhere together, or were just together.

  10. Sienna -

Your mention of Bible and bigotry. I always remind people of this verse :

Come unto me all who are weary and burdened, I shall give you rest (Matthew: 11:28)

It was all - period - there wasn't a list of exceptions after it. It meant EVERYONE. Christ's love was inclusive not exclusive, and that's the example to be followed.

  11. Ive seen it spelled Gylenhaal, Gyllenhall and Jillenhall!

  13. Today and Sunday is the NYC Avon Walk. Perfect excuse for Jake not being able to be at the Equality March while he's not filming. Idk if Reeke/Jake will show up at the Walk Sunday for the finish but I'm guessing they will. It's perfect PR for them: a charity cause, athletic activity, the Beard's perfume launch, the het image they're trying to project, all with national (and international) coverage in rags, gossip sites, magazine article fodder, news and Avon promos.

  14. Not much to add today. I was glad to see some actors I really like on that SAG list supporting the march. Franco and McGregor for sure. Looking forward to first hand news about the March.

  15. Those in the US can watch the March Live on C-SPAN tomorrow starting at 2:00 EST. Before the rally CSPAN will be highlight President Obama's keynote speech at tonight's Human Rights Campaign dinner.

  16. Hi everyone! Thanks smiley, lyrical & Seaweed for your good wishes. We are having just the best time.

Wicked drove the mrs. to the airport very early this morning and I didn't even hear tink barking at 4:30 this morning; I can't believe that. And then Wicked made a great pasta salad. Then her & I collaborated on a cheesecake. (not the fast one with cream cheese/whip cream) but a baked one. I made the crust and she made the filling. It had cottage cheese in it! It was very good although the middle didnt quite finish, lol. But it was still good.

Then her, Tom, & I took the Metro down to DuPont Circle where we met up with Destiny & her gf. We had lunch at a place I can't remember the name of. It was good and we were there for awhile. Then we walked around a bit and returned home.

Hmm, I'm saying "then" alot, aren't I? And then...and then...and then...LOL, I just saw Dude, Where's My Car and that guy at the drive thru window says that a 1000 times, LOLLLLLL! and then...snicker!

Having a blast. Cannot wait till tomorrow.

  18. We went to a great dinner party/BBQ at a friend of Wicked's. He cooked ribs on the grill and veggie burgers for the vegetarians. Everything was so good and we had fun conversations, met new people.

We are all looking forward to the march tomorrow and will give an account of happenings.
