Here's to a sweet lazy morning, a day of smiles and giggles, laughter and love. A celebration that might not be anything flashy, or public but just a homey one with candles cake and song. With those who love you most and you love too.
May this year be the best to come. And as a wise man* once said, Every year on your birthday, you get a chance to start new."
Happy 29th Birthday Jake!
Wishing you the best birthday in ages,
one with filled with friends and family,
and most of all filled with love.
Today there is much to celebrate. Join us in leaving the best of birthday wishes for our favorite bird loving boy.
Free as a bird,
like the next best thing to be.
Free as a bird.
Home, home and dry,
like a homing bird I'll fly
as a bird on wings.
The very idea of a bird is a symbol and a suggestion to the poet. A bird seems to be at the top of the scale, so vehement and intense his life. . . . The beautiful vagabonds, endowed with every grace, masters of all climes, and knowing no bounds
-- how many human aspirations are realised in their free, holiday-lives -- and how many suggestions to the poet in their flight and song!
John Burroughs, Birds and Poets, 1887

Happy Birthday Jake. Hope you get something to tie one on, ; ) the best bourbon blend of some Southern Comfort from a Wild Turkey.
ReplyDeleteHey NE! Good to see you. Off to do errands too before the snow comes. Looks like we're in the Blizzard zone. Woo Hoo.
Word from Washington, who's expected to get 1 to 2 feet of snow, "It's official. DC is going ape shitly nuts!" (It started snowing at 9pm last night there and it's still snowing 12 hours later.)
Just wanted to say again, Happy Birthday, Jake! :*
ReplyDeleteWhat a great birthday song Spesh. Beautiful. :')
Have a good day, take care all of you in the snow belt! It is kinda Woohoo! tho. :)
Nice post Jackie!
ReplyDeleteWho's Jackie?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post today, Special, I loved every inch of it.
ReplyDeleteVery well said. Perfect pictures. Love the furniture store smile. I love that picture. And the blowing out the candles picture. Love that one, too.
Happy Birthday (again!) to Mr. Jake. Hope it's an easy, laid back day with some great lovin', some good food, family & furry man's best friend who loves you very much.
That's a great lookin' chocolate cake, too.
Love today's song. Perfect.

Man, Wicked must be ecstatic. I may have to call her today just to see how the Wicked household is doing in that snow.
ReplyDeleteYou all take care up there!
I about froze my tail off out there. 29 degrees and missing one thing on my walk - the biker shorts for that extra layer. It was bitter out there and that north wind!
Saw a really nice thing this morning. As I was approaching this turnaround, noticed some people pushing a car up a short incline. It was short but any incline is too steep when you're pushing behind a stalled car in 29 degrees.
Anyway, they got him/her down into the parking lot and two of the guys shook the hand of the 3rd pusher, who then got into his own car.
A good samaritan.
A handshake of thanks to a stranger who helped in the bitter cold. It was a beautiful, heartswelling picture.
And a lovely hello to Northeast!! Have fun out there & bundle up!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and love the bedhead picture.
And love the Grandpa sweater!!
It's a montage of some of our favorite pictures, a real joy today.
I don't know if can but click on the pictures and you can see some quotes I added to them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Jake!
ReplyDeleteHope you get to spend it with the people who love you and in exactly the way you want to, be it at home or out at a restaurant.
Happy Birthday Jake. My wish for u is that u find a way to be true to urself and happy.
ReplyDeleteWow we are getting hammered in Philly. 15 to 20 inches expected.
Happy Birthday Toothy:-)
Dear Ted:
ReplyDeleteCan someone snag and burn that awful, gray stocking cap thing that Jake Gyllenhall persists in wearing? How do any of his people let him out in public wearing that? He will never up his significant-other quality quotient with that on his head!
—Bicho
Dear Bad Looks:
Hate the hat, but Jake's still cute and doable in it. I think he won't have a problem finding a suitor who agrees.
Dear Ted:
Was Toothy Tile more famous when his vice came out a few years back and he is less popular while his vice is growing? Or is he still high up in fame in Hollywood land?
—Mollie
Dear Famous BV:
Toothy is pretty well known, as all celebs are at one point or another.
Dear Ted:
Hope you're feeling better and if not you're taking good care of yourself. Bronchitis is nothing to fool with and can develop into something much nastier if not treated properly. Now I'm hoping you will answer a question for me. Is Dashed Dingle Dream an actor, too, like Judas Jack-Off or if not is he still in some way involved professionally in the film industry?
—Curious
Dear Motherly Love:
Thanks for the doc advice, and DDD is still in the Industry!
Bitch Back!
The powder blue dove shirt was always my favorite. So much nicer that the Lumbarjack look. So much nicer.
ReplyDeletethat = then
ReplyDelete"he has one of the fiercest reputations on the field, and a row of missing front teeth to prove it."
ReplyDeleteNewly single gay man with money, a great body and no front teeth? He won't be lonely for long.

Happy Birthday Jake. May your 29tj year bring you the wisdom and courage to be yourself.
ReplyDeleteHi NETB, nice to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Ted going on about the cap now, after all this time? I suspect, and hope, that we will see less of it now.
That last picture of Jake is nice.
First and foremost, happy birthday to Jake. I hope this coming year brings him all the happiness he deserves and that he is able to be true to himself.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I watched the boyfriend video this AM. It's adorable. I see what you mean about the coveralls now. Austin's ass looks great in them. Now what about that t-shirt he is wearing underneath in many scenes. The letters say CLINT, but that cowboy picture sure looks like Jack Twist. Even if it is not him, the similarity to the BBM pose is remarkable and I am sure not a coincidence. Not the first time either Jake or Austin spoke through their clothing.
Happy Birthday Jake
ReplyDeleteFAND said...
ReplyDeleteSigh. What a beautiful post. Song of Songs is the most beautiful love poetry evah. :)
(((((Tom))))) Patience! :)
Patience is not my best virtue FAND. I have been so dissapponted. But I will try to do better and be more patient.
((((Tom)))), you know we love you. We've all had our ups and downs waiting, gotten fed up, etc. But I think recent events are telling. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Jake!
ReplyDeleteHey Joker! Great to see you again.
ReplyDeleteM - great observation about Austin's T-shirt in the TToBFGF, it does look like Jack Twist. And I agree that they do speak through their clothing.
One more thing that stuck out to me was the description of Girlfriend "an acey-deucey sort of man from the pumpkins". I'm not sure what Nick was implying about about Girlfriend, but ironically Acey-deucey is a variation of backgammon.
Oh yeah the coveralls, you think Austin kept 'em and channels a mechanic when Jake comes home. ; )
I love this song today, Special. That was great.
ReplyDeletem, I know it's been awhile coming but I daresay 35b will be going up tonight. My beta is snowed in today; they really got it with the snow. And we've been able to get together the last couple of days and finally put the finishing touches on the goings on in Cabin No. 6.
I must say, I'm a little excited over the unveiling of it. I know a few people have been waiting & waiting patiently for this moment, lol. I hope it does not disappoint!
But, but, but!! I must do some more power shopping and then I will come home & do it. The west coasters always see my new chapters because I always seem to do this thing late at night.
I wonder if NYC is getting it? The snow, I mean. The snow, I mean. lol.
I am so ecstatic to have seen netb. I feel like hanging off of the rafters a bit.
And now, I better get going so I can get back.
I am going to need to download that movie I guess just so I can see these coveralls. And see this little movie. I hope it's easy to understand? Is it really a silent movie?
Hey, if anyone wants to hear an awesome Christmas song - check out Vic Damone's "Winter Wonderland". That thing absolutely rocks. I'll have to see if it's on YouTube. I could put up the link. maybe, lol. I'm bad at those things.
LOLLLLL! I didn't preview my comment.
ReplyDeletethe snow, I mean. the snow, I mean. LOLLL! Sorry for the repeat. Sounded like a stuck record there.
I have to work some tomorrow. I'm really hacked about that. Well, not hacked, just very bummed. At least I'll be the only one in the office so I can blast my music all to heaven.
I love this song too. The whole album is great.
ReplyDeleteYes NYC is getting snow now, heard from friends and can see it in all our radar as the weathermen are eating this up getting us ready for the first big snow of the season to hit here sometime around midnight. The snowplows are lined up and parked in the parking lot down the main street. Snow emergency is already been called so that they can deal with the on street parking.
Thank heavens for the street crews. Love those guys.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to have to download this song. Maybe check out the rest of the cd, too.
Well, we're off! I need to pull myself away from this laptop, lol.
Jake has plenty of time to find the right wife for himself.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Woke up to 24 inches of snow in Philly. Biggest storm ever in the month of December. I sure hope this is not a sign of things to come.
ReplyDeleteYeah sporkles maybe he will hook up with Britney or Lindsay. His tatse in women seems a little shaky. I much prefer his taste in men.
Good morning,
ReplyDeleteHi PG, Hi Destiny, Hi Tom! Hi Joker! Hi All! Nice to see all of you too.
We've got 15 inches of snow so far, and the storm's not over yet! It's beautiful, glad I got most of my holiday stuff done yesterday. Still a few little things left to do. I'm going to make Special's chocolate pecan pie today, I did a taste test of the Wild Turkey and the Jim Beam, and I think I like the Jim Beam better for the pie, it seems sweeter? I'll have to taste again!, but I can always make one with the Wild Turkey to compare. ;) lol
I really love this song too, everything about it - lyrics, melody is great. Who knows your birthday, who knows your number, who knows your color. My fave pic is the grandpa sweater and plaid shirt with the German proverb. :)
I did a taste test of the Wild Turkey and the Jim Beam, and I think I like the Jim Beam better for the pie, it seems sweeter? I'll have to taste again!,
ReplyDeleteLOL, northeast, er--enjoy that tasting. Now if we don't see you today, we're going to know that you may have enjoyed that tastetesting a whole lot!
Yuck! You guys did get it, didn't you?? Where did that system come from? I was asking my sister last night and she thought it was a Canadian front that came down.
24 inches - that's awful!!! Oh man. That gives me the heebiejeebies.
Well, I overslept and need to get going so I won't be late. Today's ushering today at my old church and then I need to haul myself straight over to work to go take this online class that I need to get done before the end of the year. We're loading today so at least I'll have company. yippeee, can't wait.
lol.
I love that grandpa sweater as well, Northeast. What a crack up. I, too, think he pulls it off pretty fine, always has.
Jake has plenty of time to find the right wife for himself.
ReplyDeleteHuh? Why would I want a wife?!?
It is snowing. Beautiful light fluffy glistening snow. White skies. White ground. So quiet, only sound the wind.No one out. My front windows covered with snow from thewinds. Heavy band of snow for the next few hours. It is a day for lots really good homemade cocoa.
ReplyDeleteRan out to take some pictures of the snow. (Will try to upload some later into today's post) Snow up to just below my knees and we have about 3 more hours to go.
ReplyDeleteGreat day for FOOTBALL!!!
ReplyDeleteGO EAGLES...........
Almost time to dig out. All the neighbors are outside already. I swear the cars are buried out there. I would be nice to head down to Florida. I know most of the airports in the East have been closed.
ReplyDeletePG the storm came from the South. They had tons of rain down there. Some places flooding. I hear New England is still getting the blast.
NETB so cool to have you back. Would love to see you hang around. Maybe you will be our good luck charm and we will get some Jaustin picks to help us through the winter.
ReplyDeleteI am in Colorado and it is supposed to be 50 today. I am sorry I am missing the snow, and with it on the weekend when I could have gone to the park to play in it. Glad I will not have to get to work in it tomorrow though.
