Out Spotlight CVXXVI

Today's Out Spotlight is chef, author, restaurateur, and activist Art Smith.

Art Smith was born and raised in Jasper Florida. He attended Florida State University and while there he started his culinary career with internships at The Greenbrier Resort (an amazing place, go if you ever get the chance) and was then selected to attend the prestigious Walt Disney Magic Kingdom College Program. Following graduation, he took a position working at the Florida Governor’s Mansion where he worked as executive chef for Governor now Senator Bob Graham.

He traveled throughout Europe and Africa as a personal chef, and later taking a position as chef on the American European Express Train. He came back to States and then settled in Chicago,IL. After returning to the US he began teaching at Williams Sonoma. He wowed them, and was so good he caught the eye of the domestic diva, and was asked to serve as a special event chef for Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Then from 1997-2007 he was the personal chef to Oprah Winfrey. He still serves as chef for her special events.

After leaving Oprah, he wanted to get back to the meaning and symbolism of the word “table” and uniting families and friends through the sharing of a meal. To do that he launched a fine dining restaurant in Chicago called “Table Fifty-two." Table Fifty-two serves handmade, organic foods gathered from some of the best farms in the Midwest in his best homey comfort culinary creations. He opened a second restaurant Art & Soul in Washington, DC. Fellow Chicagoans President and Mrs. Obama are fans of Smith's Southern cooking at both restaurants.

In 2002 he received his first James Beard Foundation Award for “Best Cookbook” for his first cookbook, Back to the Table: The Reunion of Food and Family. His second cookbook, Kitchen Life: Real Food for Real Families, received the 2001 Gourmand World Cookbook Award for “Best Family and Children’s Cookbook.”

Smith met his partner Jesus Salgueiro, a Venezuelan artist when he was working in Florida for Oprah. "I was looking for a florist and Maria Shriver Schwarzenegger expressed to Oprah that the best place in town was called "Pistils & Petals." I started buying flowers there. I saw this really adorable man with blue eyes that smiled at me and I smiled back. One time I was feeling sorry for myself and saying there was no love in my life. A dear friend of mine said, 'Jesus loves you.' I said, 'Tell me something I don't know. Of course Jesus loves me!' But he was talking about Jesus the florist and I called him up and made a date."

Smith has a "passionate belief that families (whether a family by blood or a family of friends) all share an innate desire to care for each other, regardless of culture, race or geographic location."

In 2001, Art and Jesus went to New York after 9/11. Smith was asked to cookfor a mother and her three school age children who lost their husband and father in one of towers. The day after they went to a memorial for the international victims. Moved by what happened in New York, when they returned home, Jesus returning to work through the emotions by painting, and Art by writing. He wrote, "For our world is a quilt, its people the fabric, all joined together by common threads."

Working from that Art and Jesus founded Common Threads. The program's purpose is to foster a "familial environment where children can learn to value each other and discover universal understanding and mutual acceptance." Part of that is teaching children about different cultures through art and food and how to cook healthy ethnically diverse foods and traditions. It is now in more than 20 afterschool programs all over the US. This past summer, Smith raised $10,000 for their program competing on Bravo TV's Top Chef Masters.

In 2006 Art & Jesus were the first openly gay couple to be named “Chicagoans of the Year” for Common Threads. Smith received a second James Beard Foundation Award for humanitarian work in 2007. And in 2008, they were inducted into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame for their work.

Smith also participates in the Chicago GLBT community, including in participating in Gender PAC–sponsored celebrity cook-off, for the Center on Halsted and overseeing the donation of the center’s kitchen.

For his 50th birthday, tomorrow March 1, his former employer Oprah asked him was he wanted for a birthday gift. First thinking treadmill, she told him to aim higher, then he asked for a donation for Common Threads to help First Lady Michelle Obama's cause fighting childhood obesity in the US. Lady O gave him a gift in the amount of $250, 000 to help spread the message of his program. The announcement of her gift and check will be presented Monday night during a party at The South Beach Food & Wine Festival.

"I'd like to take this money to create healthy programs for children that mirror the first lady's program. What an amazing birthday present that I can share with so many friends," Smith said.

For those who know of Art Smith, you might be seeing less of him now. Smith recently lost 90 pounds practicing what he has been preaching about healthy eating.

Art and Jesus live in Chicago, with their three dogs, five cats and 15 fish.

  1. Austin arrived in LA on Wednesday.

TMZ video is from Thursday. Austin went back to NYC on Friday? Doesn't make sense.

  2. Austin arrived in LA on Wednesday. We don't know where he was this weekend. Maybe he was in NYC for the weekend.

TMZ got Austin coming to LAX THIS PaST WEEK. (Feb 24)

The Crazy Heart party was THE PRIOR WEEK. (Feb 15)

So could have come in that Monday (2/15)and flown back to Wilmy Thursday/Friday.(2/18-2/19)

  3. Austin arrived on Wednesday. TMZ released the video on Thursday. Sophia was spotted at Intelligentsia cafe Thursday morning (sighting). Maybe Austin was in LA Thursday and Friday and then went to NYC. We can't say either way. We just don't know where he is this weekend. Both Jake and Austin travel all the time so he can be anywhere from one day to another.

  4. Sophia was spotted at Intelligentsia cafe Thursday morning (sighting).

Thursday afternoon. TMZ had no reason to wait a day with video relase. Jake was in NYC (or MV) on Friday.

  5. Go back and look at that picture from Vibrato again. The reason the guy next to Jake looks "taller" is because Jake is crouching between him and Maggie. You can tell by where Jake's left arm and hand is positioned in relation to Peter's. Also it looks like Maggie is sharing Peter's seat. I think mystery man cropped out of pic is nothing more than some stray agent or publicist connected to the film.

  6. Special, I was talking about Wednesday 24 that Austin and Sophia arrived at LAX, and that we don't know where Austin is now. He could be in NYC. We don't know.

I believe it was Austin with Jake in the pic the previous week Monday 15.

  7. "TMZ had no reason to wait a day with video relase."

It's not the most interesting video in the world. It's just a filler, so waiting a day won't make a difference.

Austin could be in LA or he could be in NYC. We just don't know. As I said, they travel all the time. They are in one city one day and in another the next day. There is no way to know.

Maybe Austin had meetings in LA (he must be doing castings if OTH is cancelled) and then went to NYC for the weekend, or maybe he stayed with BT in LA during the weekend that Jake had to work in NYC (GQ photoshoot). There is no way to know, but you can't say it's impossible. It's possible either way.

    ReplyDelete
  8. OTH cast and crew are heading to Utah starting this week, for a two week shoot. LA is a hell of a lot close to Utah, than Wilmington. And it takes time to get things set up for a location shoot. So where would you want to stay for a couple days. Wilmington or LA waiting until you have to report on set in Utah. You just saw Jake the last couple of weekend, hello Texas, and LA think you can go home to LA. Besides you have to bring all the stuff you brought with you to work for the past season home anyway. It's doubtful that anyone from OTH will go back to Wilmy until or unless they start filming Season 8.

  9. Wonderful post. I don't know how you guys manage to outdo yourself from week to week, but you always do. This was a great Spotlight! Thanks! :*

  10. How many bloggers have actually gotten ahold of this People issue and seen the picture? It's one thing to see it in the scan and then to see it in the magazine itself. Although just in observance of alot of comments, it's not all that bad of a scan with some of the details people are noticing. I would suggest heading out to Walgreens, CVS, your local Hen House, Wal Mart, Quik Trip, Casey's, Blockbuster, your neighbor who subscribes, your doctor's office tomorrow, or your dogsitting customer as I did, and check it out a little closer. It does help.

Much as I hate to, I'm going to leave alone the "crouching" debate because it's absolutely asinine to argue over crouching or not crouching.

I guess that will just have to be up for debate. The whole picture is up for debate I reckon. Everyone can spin it however they want to see it, nothing wrong with that.

I just find it amusing and terribly entertaining to have a discussion going on here and hmmmmm just keeps coming back repeatedly to come up with some reason why someone's opinion just cannot be.

The fact that someone just keeps trying to explain away things makes me think there must be some cause for them to be concerned.

And Special, it's a shame your comment earlier this morning was at the end of that thread because it was excellent, excellent, excellent.

I may have to re-post that.

  11. On a light note, I passed a snowman in an affluent area and it had on a king's crown and a big royalty robe with a fake white spotted fur trim and everything. I'm surprised it was still pretty much intact - it was crouch-er, I mean leaning over a bit, though.

  12. Stubborn I meant to say that Jake didnt go to the game with just one other guy like it was a date but went with three guys. Looking all macho with the leg spread. LOL!

Still dont think that was Austin. I dont believe Jake is out like that in the industry. I see no sign of that. He may be out to close friends and relatives but not to others in the industry. I am not suire who the person was or why he was cut out but I cant believe that was Austin. I would love to be wrong though.

  14. hmmmmm just keeps coming back repeatedly to come up with some reason why someone's opinion just cannot be

If I were Austin, I would wait for Jake in New York or meet him in Montreal, spend a weekend in New York and then go back to LA. I know, Austin might have business or BT obligations in LA, but from what we know there is no reason to believe Austin was with Jake this weekend.

  15. ... Jake says he was chosen for the part because he tried to kill the film’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Asked how he convinced Bruckheimer he could handle the coveted role, Jake laughed: “I broke into his office and threatened him with a sword. No, the film’s director Mike Newell always championed me and said he’d always thought of me for the part.”

  16. LOL am I missing something or are other posters?! Why are people talking about Austin in LA this w/e (Feb 26th-28th) when the People pic with the mystery blue dot arm was taken in LA Monday Feb 15th?!

  17. We are discussing two things - Feb 15 pic and Jake in NY/Austin in LA? this weekend.

  18. Austin arrived on Wednesday. TMZ released the video on Thursday.

Even that's debatable. IIRC there wasn't any date visible in the vid or stated by TMZ. It wasn't a main story (it didn't even make it to the 1 hour weekend recap episode). It could have been filmed weeks ago. In fact IIRC TMZ didn't say which airport it was. I like TMZ but I started wondering recently how they can have "Tomorrow on TMZ" vid clips, Harvey in the next day's shirt, previewing during the current running episode...?? Lol. Which means the "office" show is filmed and the features are planned, in advance. Not daily as they would like everyone to believe.

  19. Dear Ted:
Don't you think it's funny that longtime friends and One Tree Hill costars Austin Nichols and Sophia Bush are upping their showmance and staging photo ops with PDAs right as the show is in decline and at risk of being cancelled? I thought Austin would have learned from his good friend Jake Gyllenhaal that being part of a fauxmance doesn't exactly translate into career opportunities. They should focus on the quality of work and not being a joke in sugary photo ops. Are the CW and the producers of the show pushing them to do these tacky publicity tricks, or is it their own initiative for personal promo reasons?
    —Natalie

    Dear Too Sweet:
Whether Austin and Sophia's people urged them to up their exposure or not, the duo knows a little PDA can go a long way. Especially with the show on the chopping board; A.N. and S.B. need to stay in the limelight for post-Tree acting opportunities.

    Dear Ted:
A little while ago you told some of things that Toothy Tile and Judas have in common. So how about some of the things Dashed and Grey Goose have in common?
    —Chaz

    Dear Closeted Connection:
They're both pseudo-normal dudes who have to put up with crazy closet case stars who have a greater amount of H'wood clout. Sounds like DDD and Mr. Goose could be good friends—they definitely have a lot in common.

Ok, does anybody else notice that Jake is rocking the knit tie and a tie bar?

Who does that? Ohhhh yeahhhh I know who does.

Jake you might ask Austin how he got those dark rosy lips for the premiere of JFC. I'm sure he'd share it with you.

  30. Such a sweet Spotlight today, full of "awww" moments.

Makes sense that Austin would come back to LA if OTH is done for the season. And of course he was going to do it with Sophia because paps do hang out at LAX, so they could try to get themselves some more publicity without it looking too phony.

I doubt Austin would have been in NYC this weekend either, looks like Jake was just here to do the GQ shoot, and what with filming starting Monday, I doubt he was looking to do more than get that done and return to Montreal.

Don't know why Jake would need a private plane, unless indeed it was a whirlwind trip. Jake's character in the movie is supposed to be a helicopter pilot, is it possible it has something to do with that--like seeing what it is really like?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Don't know why Jake would need a private plane, unless indeed it was a whirlwind trip.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is Austin wearing Jake's pants at Fashion Week? They are a wee bit snug.

  43. LOL how do you explain Jake's leather jacket?!

    ReplyDelete
  44. ties are a dime a dozenFebruary 28, 2010 at 4:23 PM

At first glance Jake's tie appears to be more textured, the knit pattern looks different.

Both black and wool, but jak'e looks more exspensive.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Owned, do you have a link where Jake is wearing that same leather jacket in candids? I never saw him where it. The leather jacket he has on in the NY times pic is different than this one and was most likely worn for the shoot like this one.

The he wore at the hockey game and he one he wore at the BB game are different as well. He owned those 2, this one and the one in the NY Times photos are not.

  46. Sorry, this time, I'm hoping our Canadian brothers will get the gold. Go Canada! Plus, I'll get to hear my fave national anthem, O Canada. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Crap, I think you were toyed with there. lol.

Congratulations to the Canadians on their hockey gold. And one of the most beautiful national anthems out there, too. I love their anthem.

I'm glad Canada won because let's face it. At hockey? And for Canada not to win in their home stadium at the Olympics? That would not have been good.

Good winter games - plenty of stories in this one and I saw on Fox News that Canada did get a rail system in preparation for them. That's a great thing and something that will long benefit after the Games are gone.

The paranoia about Austin has really gotten ridiculous this weekend. I think alot of this talk is a few having a little fun at others' expense and stirring things up, lol. It has to be.

    ReplyDelete
  48. ^^ thanks bb!!! Sid the Kid come through in the clutch!!!!! OH CANADA!!!!! We are all going nuts here!

Have two new Olympic records and we just love it. Love having the countries here to compete.

Looking forward to the closing ceremonies!

USA played a very good game. We just can't give it up :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well I cant say I am glad that Canada won. I will always root for the USA. It was a great game and the underdog Americans gave it a hell of a fight. I def would have preferred to hear the Star Spangled Banner.

Seawood is very happy. I got a call from him after the game. It was tough but I did give my congratulations. It was the best Winter Games ever. British Columbia and Vancouver is beautiful. Seaweed said that there will be plenty of places for Jake to party tonight.

  53. Yes, I've always wanted to visit Vancouver. It's gorgeous and so naturally beautiful. It was a great Olympics. :)

  54. I didnt want to come off as a sore loser. I do Congratulate Canada on winning the Gold medal In Hockey. If America has to lose then I am glad Canada could win. We are neighbors. But again my heart was with the USA. The USA has much to be proud of in these Olympic games as does Canada, Norway, and Germany and all the countries and athletes competing.

  59. Settled in for the closing ceremonies in the sunroom with the wieners. All 3 of them clustered together in front of the space heater, lol.

You know, the last time I was in this area and went to that Whole Foods, I was elated to see that they carried chilled Virgil's root beer by the single bottle and the guy who checked me out mentioned that their orange soda was awesome. So I took him up on that today and I am telling you, Virgil's Orange Cream Soda is out of this world. Unbelievable. Not normally an orange soda fan but man. this thing is worth touting.

Great to see the Canadian Mounties. Back to writing now.

  60. The Olympics were especially good this year; and if the US had to lose in hockey, well, I don't mind them losing to Canada, being the home team and all.

No way of knowing the deal with the ties; some photo shoots they pick out all the clothes, others it is a mix of personal items and new items--after all, GQ is selling clothes. Could be what's in fashion, or Jake was offered several things to wear and picked that one because it was familiar.

One thing I did go hmmmm over is that they both wore the tie in NY, if it really is the tie maybe it's hanging in a closet somewhere in NY.

    ReplyDelete
  61. it was SO random. i didnt even know he was in the city. haha. well he came up to my friends and i went over to them and we got pics. and then his manager made us sign release forms cause we might be in a magazine. and he walked away when we were signing. and then we followed him and he started taking pics with other people. and i snuck back into the middle. and i got next to him. and the paparazzi was taking pics and his arm was around me the whole time. hahaha. i love him<3 it was amazing.

    Kelly

    ReplyDelete
  62. Stylists for the shoots pull together several looks for each shot they do and the person photographed has input in what they want to wear for certain types of articles. They may do some stuff that he wanted to wear for the interview/profile, and then do some fashion shots with the clothes that the editors want to use. And he may or may not get to take those clothes with him.

Remember the last time he did a shoot for GQ, the grey trousers ended up on someone else at a Lakers game a little while later.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Q. Did you get to feel him up? You were pretty close in some of those pics!

    A. hahaha. i was definatly close enough. i didnt purpously, but i probably did. :D hahahaha.

    Q. What did Jake smell like? Cologne, candy, minty, soapy?

    A. he smelled really good! like cologne!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Uh oh, that Jared Padalecki from Supernatural did get hitched this weekend, JJ has a wedding photo. That's liable to hurt that writing fandom; think I can hear the sound of wailing now.

Check out that big puffy coat. LOLLLL! What was the temperature in NYC, Destiny? That coat looks like he's in Antarctica, lol.

I'm exhausted just seeing all the twit pics and everything. Good grief.

While it sounds pretty exciting; the thing is, it's all so manufactured. Kind of like when at the K baseball Stadium, they put up a sign on the big scoreboard "Let's Make Some Noise!" and so it's all fake. Release forms, cameras, political handshakes.

Really not appealing to me to know all the script-like tactics that go behind something like this.

    ReplyDelete
  65. PG Think Jake did go outside where there were crowds to sign autographs and take pictures. But GQ and his management were CYA's with releases if they saw a shot that looked good enough to include in the story. IT would have been more manufactured if they had them sign releases before they even met him, or they only let Jake take pictures of signed with pre approved people.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Q. What did Jake smell like? Cologne, candy, minty, soapy?

    A. he smelled really good! like cologne!

Mmmmm . . . thank you for enlightening me about this, it's something I have wondered about for years. lol

I enjoye the Winter Olympics so much this time - they were great, loved the closing ceremonies. The team Canada sweaters and hats were just awesome. Can't wait for Sochi in 2014 - it looks like it's going to be a winter and ice fantasy location.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh, I suppose, Special. Still manufactured to me.

But interesting, all the same. I think some of these girls' twitters were hilarious. Reminiscent of those 2 girls outside of that restaurant. People can be really goofy. Did you feel him up. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Even though the Olympics are on West coast Pacific time we in California had to wait 3-4 hours until primetime to see them. WTF? I already knew who won by the time it was televised 3 hours later. And we're in the same time zone. NBC televised them 8pm-12midnight, then repeated the same episode at 1am-5am. Instead of televising it live at 4pm and doing the repeat during primetime.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Did you feel him up.

    I would have!

    ReplyDelete
  70. That is just sad about Jared P. I can't believe in this day and age people are still doing that shit. :-(

It was around 40 yesterday, warm for New Yorkers, but probably cold for an LA boy. My gf grew up in a warm place, and after all these years in NY she still wears her big puffy coat on days I think are warm.

    ReplyDelete
  71. 40 in LA is freezing! tbh I don't think it's ever gotten that low. It gets down to the mid-50s and severe weather alerts are issued. I'm not kidding!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I think the puffy coat was for the the shoot. It could be they had him in just shirtsleeves for the one shot and threw the puffy coat on before he got into Katz's. You know this GQ story maybe for PoP, but it could also be for something later in the year when LaOD comes out.

    Just some thoughts.

  73. 40? Yeah, we hit 40 today, too, I think. I ditched my coat when I was out even this morning. Upper 30's feel balmy after a winter like we've had. I can't be bothered with a coat. 40 degrees and lookit that coat. LOL.
Reminds me of one of my college roommates who was from Jamaica. She was always freezing in the "winter months" there in Florida and it really wasn't all that cold there, lol.

Boy, and talk about irritating, We Got Screwed. Now stupid NBC interrupted the closing ceremonies, of all things to show that Marriage show that they've been endlessly plugging all night long. I turned the TV off. Who interrupts the closing ceremonies for crying out loud??? I won't be forcefed to watch that thing.

    TV networks are so irritating.

And the ceremonies were going so well, too.

  74. They better not make us miss Nickelback, that's all I have to say. They're probably going to have the local stations show the news at 10 CT and then bring back the closing cremonies on a tape delay.

Yeah, I didn't know that Jared Padalecki guy was supposed to be getting married already. I thought they were just engaged for right now. JJ says they got married last night.

  75. Sorry for the triple post but I was just reading on JJ that Jensen Ackles was one of the groomsmen.

Now one of the comments says it was a fake wedding??? Looks like a real wedding photo to me.

  76. You can have a wedding and not be married. You can get married and not have a wedding. Those pesky legal details!

  77. Also remember California has confidential marriages. So if a marriage certificate can't be found in public records (because a couple never got married) they can always say "We have a confidential marriage." The only time a confidential marriage becomes public (outside of a court order for documents) is if they get a divorce. Divorces are on public record and since you can't get a divorce without a marriage first (lol), that's really the only time people will know you were married.

  78. ^ good example of the confidential marriage thing is Jake and Austin's TDAT co-star Emmy Rossum. No one knew she had been married until she and her husband divorced.

  79. Good to know ^^. So who knows? It was an interesting comment to say the least.

Well, as I was afraid. The 10 o'clock news is on so that means the cc's won't be on again until after the news. I can't believe they did that.

  80. Or they could just be referring to the fact that it is a sham wedding. Yeah, I knew it was supposed to be this weekend, so I'd kind of been on the lookout for it. Hadn't been on JJ in awhile though, until you mentioned it PG.

I heard Gossip Boy got the first picture (wonder if JJ stole it).

I guess we should thank our lucky stars Jake wasn't dumb enough to marry Reese.

  81. I have question about the The Day after Tomorrow and I don't mean Tuesday.

Where the hell did they go the bathroom if they were trapped in the room of half ice half fire? Talk about Icy Hot.

  82. I watched the last half hour of the hockey game. I'm glad Canada won. If they can't hold on to a gold for their national sport, no one should. The US team looked so disappointed though. And it seemed like every other player was named Ryan. I did not realize how popular that name was.

Despite being dressed by handlers for a photo shoot, Jake has demonstrated that he acknowledges those close to him via what he wears. Remember SNL? We've seen lots of examples of him sharing attire over the years so even it if was not Austin's tie, he most likely chose one just like it.

I can't recall Ted posting on a Sunday before. Saturdays, but not Sunday.

  83. LOL Special, I never thought about that. Well, we know what they were using for toilet paper--please, no screams from book lovers. :-D

  84. One side of the room you could get some serious freezer burn and the other too close and it could get cooked to a crisp.

  85. And in the middle you get an audience. ;-D

  86. At least there's lots of reading material available!

  87. Special are you doing voodoo? You had Kurt Cobain movie next day you play Shelley Duvall today this in People.

  88. After looking at those pics on IHJ, I see the Big Puffy Coat isn't the same. And disappointingly enough, the coat Jake has on isn't even puffy. LOL.
    Darnit!

I would've died laughing to see him in a big Gortex puffy coat, a la George Castanza.

That's a really, really nice looking coat he does have on, though.

  89. And now my music player doesn't play here at work either.

Had the ol' rice and black beans for lunch today. Old El Paso makes some seasoned black beans in a pouch; you just tear the top off and nuke them for about 1 1/2-2 min. My wild rice was from Minute Rice and it only took one minute to nuke. Voila!! Instant, rubbery lunch. No, really, not too bad.

This morning was really hectic. 3 wiener dogs are much, much more high maintenance than Curley was. And one of them wears a little doggie diaper at night and while I'm at work. Trying to get her long tail through the little hole is one thing; then trying to get it snug around her little body, the tapes at each end practically meet together. My first attempt was not good. I came back later to find her outside of her diaper and the diaper sitting in the middle of the floor still all put together. LOLLLLL. Poor little thing. Aunt pg did a haphazard job there.

  90. Diapers!! LOL PG. I can't even imagine trying to get one on a dog.

I never play the music at work, but lately I've noticed it doesn't work here either.

  91. That's so funny about Grohl and Duvall. She would be perfect too; too bad she's way too old.

  92. Fate is cruel. Jake is here in my city, doing a photo spread, on Times Square no less, and I have the trots. :lol I know, I know TMI.
TY for the up close and personal profile of this wonderful talented generous humanitarian and Top Chef Art Smith:)
The Jesus comment is priceless...I have to remember it.
He looked so good when he was on TV last week...I didn't recognize him with 90 lbs gone.
I'm still in shock...what I learned these past few months about PR had made me forever shut my mouth...:lol
I can say here how glad I am to no longer read magazine and newspapers lines about how Jake isn't ready for family life etc etc etc. Made me wanna *barf*.
Be back soon to read again,
I love the articles here, I should post more when I read...so today I did. :)

  94. Dear Ted:
Just curious when we're gonna hear you weigh in on the fact that Reese is so desperate to look desired she's now hired her agent to be her boyfriend? I mean, isn't this a bit much? Though maybe he needs her too, so it might be a mutually beneficial arrangement, non?
    —Caroline

    Dear Business and Pleasure:
When has R.W.'s love life—at least recently—been anything but pathetic? I'm not saying she's paying the dude to be her BF, but Reesey sure does have back luck at picking guys, huh?

    Dear Ted:
Could you please tell us, based on your information and belief, which of the following coupling will last the longest and which will expire first? Brangelina, Toothy and Grey Goose, Bradley and Renée or TomKat?
    —Lilian

    Dear Couples Counseling:
Brad and Renée will be over before you know it (if it isn't already) and with the constant rumors about trouble in both Brangelina and TomKat's relationships, something big is going to happen in at least one of them soon. As for T.T. and G.G.? I guess we'll have to see what happens if Toothy decides to come out.

    Dear Ted:
In recent days you've been implying that our beloved Toothy Tile may see the light ("You may even hear from our pal Toothy soon."), be true to himself (and Grey Goose) and finally come out. But with his recent breakup so fresh, wouldn't his coming out be too embarrassing and potentially damaging for his ex-beard? She certainly has a career and image she needs to protect.
    —Melina

    Dear Know It All:
Well, if you're so confident you know who T.T. is, then why does he even have to come out in the first place?

    Dear Ted:
Love you, Ted! And love seeing your cuddly pooches! A question: Has Shafterella Shoshstein met Baby Tile? Perhaps babysat for Toothy? Taken Baby Tile on walks in the park?
    —Kelly

    Dear Baby Business:
H'wood is a small town—plenty of connections between random people.

    Bitch-Back!
