Bad Boys

Let's talk about the real bad guys.

Here's yet another clip from Prince of Persia and this time it's about the Hassassins.

Best suggestion expand to full screen to catch all the cool stuff.

These guys are total bad asses, ruthless and no remorse. And their weapons are cool, each has an individual weapon, from snakes out their arms, to spikes out of their wrist, or blades on whips. There will be fans who will come out of the movie taking about Hassassins scenes.

And in all those guys there was Gemma. Talk about being in a real boys club, she was the only female in all the principles. Looks like the princess fit right in. She and Jake have a great chemistry on screen, and she said she couldn't help but slip, so to speak, in the kissing scenes, now you can see behind the scenes how well the got along.

Jake is the cover guy for SFX magazine this month with a special look at PoP. But just as he did at WonderCon, he also mentioned working on Source Code. And from the sounds of it he is having a great time working with Duncan. And agree with him, from just reading the Source Code script online, and imagining what Duncan can do, it will be a mindblower.

Jake's been on a lot of magazine covers but he hasn't gotten this one.

Yet.

But Jake does admit he's a big fan of Indy and thinks that Lego was too, and seem like they just buffed up their Indy figure and gave him a mullet.

It does look like Dastan is sporting the business up front party in the back/hockey hair. Jake said that was it was his during filming, but had to don faux follicles on earlier this year when he put the big prince pants back on for promotion stuff. (Man can you imagine how big that wig must be to cover all that noggin, an even more, how many heads had to be cut to make that wig?)

While it really wasn't a true mullet, when he tucked it behind his ear he could could give Billy Ray an Achy Breaky Heart.

One more thing, you know maybe there was a little Indy going on with the guys and those chapeaus last year. Maybe something to rev those engines? Wait what Indy and what engines are we talking?

Well last we haven't heard nothings been confirmed about the one with the cars. But those guys do know how to put all the way into fifth.

  1. Maybe his epiphany in Brothers came from realizing that no matter what happens in life, nothing is more important than doing photo ops with his beard of the day and making sure the PR plan is stuck to.

Funny and sad at the same time. Got to say I kind of agree that with Brothers he buckled down with work and a pr campaign.

And no, none of us "know" why Jake bearded. But look at how many other closeted gay men without children are out there doing it, clearly for career and publicity reasons. Ted has repeatedly said Jake was doing it to "keep releveant" and get attention. Now I think Ted doesn't know much about what is actually going on with Jake, but he absolutely knows how HW works and why people in HW do the things they do.

But the biggest elephant in the room is the fact that Ricky and Clay came out when they had children, and they both talked about how they did it in part for their children, that they looked at their children and saw how wrong it would be to hide and lie. Ricky in particular was very eloquent on that point.

I also think it is a factor in Bomer's being in a glass closet.

I don't see how anyone could think that being in the closet and pretending for all the world to see that you are with a woman while hiding your male lover is a positive thing for a child, especially after reading what Clay and Ricky had to say on the topic.

I know I'm just another person speculating here, but you have the words of two gay fathers working in entertainment saying the same thing I've been saying. I think you have to give their words a lot of weight on this one.

  3. I'm not crazy about the GQ cover. He looks a lot older than he is, and the colors seem wrong for him. Hopefully the real thing will look better.

  4. Who knew how fashion forward Austin was with the knitted tie and tie bar that he's sporting for a while, and now its on the cover on the front of GQ. ; )

I like Jake in stronger colors, but I get what the photo concept is. It's sands, a modern fashion interpretation of sand.

Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures and read the article.

  5. Dear Ted:
Good for Anna Paquin for coming out of the closet! She truly is a courageous young woman! My question is, why don't gay celebrities like Toothy Tile and Grey Goose just come out of the closet as bisexual instead of gay? They could still be the subject of teen girls' fantasies, but they could also date who they actually want to while occasionally fitting in a beard or two. Does that make sense?
    —CEA

    Dear One Way:
For nonhating people like you and me, sure it makes sense. But you're forgetting there are a helluva lot of folks that so are not OK with the bisexuality—as if anybody asked their permission in the first place. Even if it's a hot babe like Anna or Megan or Angie.

  7. You are correct Destiney, but the difference is that we have got pictures of Ricky M./Clay A. childrens form the beginning and it was clear that they will come out at one point.

And I don´t have seen any pictures of "Baby Tile" and I don´t believe that BT even exists.

  8. It wasn't clear they would come out just because they showed their children from the beginning. They could have kept on playing the "I wanted kids but couldn't find the right woman and didn't want to wait anymore" card and then after a respectable amount of time carried on with the bearding.

  12. Duncan has some great tweets. The ones about the set have really peaked my curiosity. Can wait to see it on film.

Especially love the tweet about Jake and Russell Peters. Russell is hysterical and can only imagine what Jake was doing for Russell to keep up with him. Jake's got a great comedic sense and timing. We seen bits of it before and get to see a little of it in PoP too. Wish that Nailed one day will be distributed.

Jake's said that he wants to do more comedy, hope he does. I'm sure that hanging out with Russell added more fuel to that fire.

  16. Sorry, You're Wrong Special K

I'm EastCoastFan, I've posted as JakeFan and more recently as to post back as Been There - Done That and Okay.

This just goes to show you that other posters who are also fans of Jake's don't necessarily agree with the regular named posters here all the time.

After leaving this blog and checking back time and again, I did decide to change my name, it was no big deal. Didn't think about it twice.
Special, my style of posting is no secret and I did not try to change it: Exm: the use of parentheses, (YOU), Using But and Again at the beginning of sentences. The ! Exclamation point. etc.
Blogs are liberal and should be. Formal and business letters are correct.

First of all I was too busy to post why I did what I did 3 days ago as if refers to my comments towards Destiny. My comments were to the point for her. There was no beating around the bush.

Destiny makes good points at times just like others here do. Most of the times when I'm around if I don't agree with her assessment of a situation, I scroll past it. At times Destiny can be overbearing in her statements, especially when they lack proven facts. I will give her respect, but she seems to be the type that will talk loud, will be heard and will challenge any situation to the end and stick to her convictions.
These types of people had better be ready for someone like they are or someone who can go toe to toe with them.
I spoke my mind and I knew I was on the border of rudeness, but, I don't feel that I was rude. I was to the point about what I considered to be her prejudices and narrow vision of human sexuality. Especially when it relates to the male species. I find It quite strange coming from someone as complex and supposed diverse as she claims to be. This is how I see her. The comments could be preceived as too harsh for some ears, but It was to the point.

Some of the reason for my indepth commenting on that day.

    1. I am male who has lived a straight life. A long term bisexual life, and now a gay or homosexual life with respect and dignity.

    2. I know or friends who are close frinends who are living secret bisexual lives. These men are in the closet with who they are, but I believe them when they say they are bisexual because most of their dating is with females.
Some of these men are married. Some divorced, got married to a female agian, but at times deal with men on the side. Most of them have children and most want to have children with a woman. I can go on and On about the variations of these friends, former friends, aquaintences but each one of them have a different take on their situation. I am not here to judge them or their actions. I've been there. They have to deal with their lives, not me! The thing they all agree upon is that they all like sex with women and men. They are just not open to the public about their interest in men. Most of these guys do not identify with gay men or the whole gay lifestyle for whatever reason, and I don't try to force anything on them.
The last time I jokingly asked a very good friend about who and what the hell are you he replied "Im just a sexy ass sexual being, I love everybody".

My point was and still is, I am a man who relates to this subject matter from a (gay/bisexual) male knowledge, not a straight womans view of these things, not a bisexual/gay womans veiw of these things, not a male who has never had an interest in women and always knew he was gay view of things, and not a gay romantic love story view on this subject.

  18. So, when someone begins to shout loudly, or assumes the attitude that they have all the truths and facts about men or certain men sexual behaviors and idiosyncrasis when they are not male and have not lived the life of a male in these situations, I just have to step back and say, how do you know this and what's your basis? I would never take the attitude that I know the all ends of the complex female sexual situations, especially dealing with lesbians or bi women. I can assume, but most of my dealing and knowledge comes from being a male who have been in and live these situations.
Not by hope, wishes, an agenda to promote anything gay, or a love story. What I do know about the female aspect or gay-bi, is that the female is more open and take more chances and they do get a pass from all of society. And from my take on things the bi male are afraid of the backlash from both the straight public and open gays.

There is no mistake that I do thing their is a large possibilty of Jake being bi. No secret there either. I don't understand the reason for anyone to get upset by this notion unless the person is working with some inner situations that they may not have come to terms with on this situation.
No secret I think Ted is now a Joke and stringing his TT fans on.
I don't think he knows anything about Jake personally, but I have not ridicule anyone for thinking otherwise.

Special as you know I don't agree with a number of things you believe in as it pretains to Jake, Austin, etc., But I do have respect for you and don't see how you continue to hold on, but you do it like a trooper and very seldom get riled up about anything. Keep up the good work.
As JerseyTom has done, I had to leave this site months on end on several occasions to take a step back and because things are busy and this takes up too much time.
I'll do it again and may check back later.

  21. Jake's GQ cover may be overshadowed by the True Blood crowd who are on Details. Smokin hot, especially Alex Skarsgard. See dlisted if you are interested.

It sounds like Jake is having a ball making Source Code. I'm looking forward to that film more than POP.

Ted mentioned Jake again today. Poohpoohing the McAdams rumor, which I dont think anyone is taking seriously anyway. His bit seemed half-hearted to boot. I would not be surprised if Disney is not pressuring E to keep Jake's name out there.

Tot, do you not understand what being closeted means? We are not going to see Jake and Austin together as they are hiding their relationship.

  22. There is no possibility of hiding a relationship especially including children these days in the long run.

    T. Woods and J. James are the best examples lately.

And no, I don´t believe the fairytale that no magazine or gossip blog would post pics or sightings in fear of Disney or Jakes "evil" PR.

Sorry, but if Jake and Austin have a relationship (and children), they are not "keeping it qiet", they are clearly hiding it. Like Woods and James are hiding their cheating.

And "hiding" something is not possible in the long run. Thats all I am saying.

  34. Dear Ted:
OK, explain this to me. Why is it OK for the media to "out" people like Tiger and Jesse for their behavior but Toothy Tile is immune to this? Seems like a bad double standard to me.
    —T

    Dear Interesting Point:
Well, basically, it is. But I guess cheating is the lesser of two evils—in puritanical America's eyes. A lot of guys like Toothy and the rest of Hollywood's closeted gang would be professionally destroyed if their true sexuality was revealed—and they know it. Look at Tiger, he's already back at the Masters and doing just fine. What kind of crap is that?

    Dear Ted:
While playing six degrees of separation with the CW (again!), I remembered that Jared Padalecki got his start on Gilmore Girls where he and Chad Michael Murray first acted together. I remember reading once upon a time that these two were close. Is this still the case? I only ever hear about him being buddy buddy with Jensen Ackles these days. If not, was there a falling out. Love your column, by the way.
    —Nikki

    Dear Too Bad Chad:
Jared and Jensen's bromance was fate, need I say more?

    Dear Ted:
I keep wondering, who has more to hide, based on their Blind Vices, Jake G. or Angie? Angie seems more sneaky. Sending hugs to your furry friends.
    –Sandy

    Dear Vice is a Vice:
They're both sneaky. But I would say Saint Jolie has more to lose. Much.

  35. Tiger lost all of his endorsements, which is where he made the big money, so for Ted to imply nothing has changed is not entirely correct.

Plus there was a time when it was assumed scandals like this would kill your career, and then when they started being revealed, maybe there were bumps for some, but usually not, and now it is just business as usual.

Look at Mel Gibson. An anti-Semitic womanizing drunk. Not to mention huge hypocrite, with his own version of Catholicism and morality, then he turns around and cheats on his wife.

NPH has shown that there is life in HW after coming out. I'm not convinced that if some mega-star came out they'd never work again.

Ted has just turned into another apologist for all the homophobes in HW.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't think sexuality is a matter of who you are partnered with, and it is certainly not a matter of whether you want children or not. Marrying a woman just so you can have kids does not make you straight or even bisexual. JMO based on my own observations and the tons of things I have read on sexuality over the years.

I think that what really are tells as to a person's sexuality is who they look at/lust after, who they fantasize about, and who they fall in love with--and by love I mean the kind of love that is wrapped up with an intense physical desire to be with that person. Not love as in "you're my best friend and mother of my child and I feel affection for you and can bring myself to have sex if I just fantasize I'm with someone of the sex I really prefer" kind of love.

As for myself, I've always pretty much been attracted to and look at both men and women. The fact that I have settled into a relationship with one person doesn't change that. Personally I think anyone in a relationship who says they never look at other people or fantasize about other people are either lying or sexually dead.

And after all, isn't that what HW is supposedly all about--fantasies?

I can go to a movie like BBM and finding Jake and Heath hot, and I can go to a movie like The Runaways and find Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett one of hottest lesbian performances I've ever seen in a movie.

I do believe bisexuality is not a 50-50 proposition. I personally feel I fall pretty much around a 5 on the Kinsey scale, but as we know that scale runs from 0 to 10.

ECF you and your friends are of course free to think whatever you like, and free to identify yourselves how you see fit. But personally I am never going to consider what you described as bisexuality.

I said this on wft2 and I'll say it again since you've very conveniently ignored it ECF even though you say you post and read there too.

I've never seen Jake look at a woman the way he's looked at Austin, Heath, and Paris Fountain Boy. I've never seen Jake have the same body language he had in the Borders pictures with Austin with any woman.

He never looked at Kiki that way, and he certainly never looked at Reese that way.

Jake telegraphs his emotions for all to see, he just can't help it.
That's one of the biggest reasons why I think Jake is gay, and not bisexual.

I do think he probably slept with Kiki. But I think he did it because he loved her as friend, thought he could convince himself he was bisexual and could have a relationship with a woman, in part because he thought it would be the thing to do for his career and to have children. I think he realized how wrong he was--and luckily for him, at a young age, and before he totally destroyed some woman's life by marrying her and having children with her.
