Everything's Jake

"Everything's Jake" - def. 1.everything is okay, good, 2.The plan is working. 3.the next 7 days before PoP opens.

It does seem like it is "everything's Jake" and Jake's been making sure of it. Gyllenhaaling everywhere promoting. Screenings that turned out to be not only a (Pop)Sugar but a little Spicy. (You are the realSex and the City? So what do you have a Chrysler or Empire State Building? Or it's a Statue of Liberty? The crown, the torch,....)

But it's not just about wooing the lady (fans) he's got 3 more quadrants of movie goers to reached and he's up for such a challenge.

Showing up in interviews on a third MTV show today PoP is going for the teen box office. And it's only 3/4th complete, next week MTV having their show Ultimate Parkour Challege next week to be a PoP challenge, getting more of those teen guy movie goers out to check out Parkour on the big screen. And just flashing shirtless Jake some more have girls having no argument in seeing an action blockbuster. (Can we just call it now that Jake and PoP will be included in MTV's movie awards in 2011?)

But Jake and Co. aren't just stopping there they are going even younger, and not just with the toys, no no, Mr. Gooberballs took over Radio Disney for 2 hours this week. Not only will parents be cursing his name for getting their kids begging to see the movie, and buying the dagger of time and all the Legos, but also when they are sitting in the emergency room next weekend waiting for x-rays to come because "Sunday Morning Living Room Parkour" went wrong while they were sleeping in and now they are spending the rest of the day getting the kids patched up.

And for the adults that up before 10am or after 11:30opm Jake's got that covered too with being scheduled for all the morning news shows and pretaping for Jimmy Kimmel and then hitting up Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel next week in a late night trifecta. Sorry now Jon Stewart this time, Jon on vaca and it's rerun city for two weeks. And Jay ? Don't know if its Jake on Team Coco, or seeing a big chin would cause Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

He's got almost everyone covered, princesses, free runners, kids, teenagers, parents, gamers, guys, ladies, leather lovers. The only place the Disney train hasn't stopped at is AARPville on their whistle stop campaign.

But that could be taken care of in one fell swoop just have Jake and white hot Betty White do PoP: Golden Girls Spectacular.

He's a "Golden hall" with a thing for golden guys [Au(stin)] and she's a Golden Girl trying to slow down the sands of time, together it's alchemy and adventure wrapped up in glittery giggles. And let's not forget both have done some naughty cooking. Now that's saucy.

"Now who doesn't love pie?"

And then everything would be Jake.

All ready for the fly over Mr. Bruckheimer.
"Excellent"

Excuse me Jerry? Tom's not flying the plane right?

  1. Ten on Top will be repeating Tomorrow morning at 8:00 am

There a interviews with Jake and Gemma as part of the list of the Top Ten things talked and tweeted about this week. Another thing that made the list. The OTH finale. No Austin but Robert chatted about Clay, and it sounds like he survives.

  2. Good post today. You're right. There's not a market untouched except for the AARP group, lol.

The Disney Radio stint has to be my favorite.

Just saw him & Gemma on MTV Top 10 or whatever that was. Jake truly having fun promoting this movie.

I don't know that I'd be pushing the Abs/Body/Beefed up aspect of it as strongly as they are, though. I mean, I know it's supposed to just be a fun film and all. But that seems to be a good way to be known as a beauty/no brains type deal. The Fabio effect I guess is what I mean.

Because when I watch things like this MTV 10 and google Prince of Persia or Jake, and mostly what is seen is: "beefs up", "the hair", "proud of his body", "promises more nudity", "goes shirtless", "pumped up", it's like that is the main focus of the movie is his body, his looks and Gemma's looks. Even one of the first things Bruckheimer keeps getting quoted as saying is how handsome Jake is.

And when he goes to the hotel pool, what's the headline? Jake takes off his shirt. Same thing at the PopSugar movie party something about trying to take off his shirt or something.

    lol. Which is great but...

I think it can also backfire a little bit to where no one takes you seriously. Which is what he said he wanted to do, though, was not take himself so seriously. So I hope it all works out, I guess.

I know I did like it alot better when he wasn't bragging on his body so much. We all know he's drop dead beautiful. What I don't need is for him to tell me that. I thought humility was always part of his draw.

  3. There was some kind of CW party last Thursday night, I keep reading. I know Roberto was there because I've seen pictures. No signs of Austin at that function.

  4. Did you catch Jake imitate Gemma? (She introduced herself as Jake, and Jake got a chance to introduce himself as Gemma) Must be the princess in him.

Ben was on Craig Ferguson last night promoting the movie.

  5. Dear Ted:
Now that we all know that Austin Nichols has a Blind Vice (and you said it's very juicy), I was wondering if Sophia Bush knows anything about it? And if she doesn't know then I feel bad for her 'cause she needs a real man, the girl is beautiful.
    —Mike

    Dear in the Know:
Sophia is definitely aware of Austin's Vices. There's really no hiding this one—and she's cool with it too, which makes her perfect for him (at least for now).

  6. LOL. I stll can't believe he said some might consider him a princess. That line is priceless.

Still nursing a few precious remains of the ol' Easter candy stash. Is there anything better than a Russell Stover's marshmallow egg? Or a Dove egg. Russell Stover's marshmallow eggs are the best. There are plenty of imitators but none better than R.S.

In those pool pictures you can see the silver/green tennis shoes that Jake had on.

Someone should've tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Excuse me, sir, but are you a guest of the hotel?"

    LOL.

  14. Jake has this to say about his accent.

"I worked very hard at it and was worried because I can't tell you how much I respect the British accent, and how much I know the British respect the accent.

"I recognise it for all the wonderful qualities and politeness that is the British culture. I know they can be touchy on that, too, and it was a challenge.

"It was something that had stopped me from doing other roles in the past because I didn't know if I could pull it off.

"My sister [Maggie] always did a great British accent, and I always would try and it would sound really bad, like some mix between German and Texan."

    musicrooms.net

Do you think he was thinking about a Texan in Germany when he gave that interview? And you know there's a wiener schnitzel joke in there waiting to happen. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm sure Jake is going light on the double entendres these days because his supposed to be Mr. Family Friendly, but I have little doubt that the boy loves him some rowdy Texan foreplay. Oops, I meant, wordplay. Particularly, since we all know everything's bigger in Texas!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well Jake looked like he truly had a good time at the radio show. Giggling, smiling, man on man touching and hugs. Is that DJ gay? He pings a bit for me. If Jake had behaved like this for the last 2 years, he would have a huge fan base already in place. Too bad he drove them off during Reeke.

Ted's confirmation re Sophia being an informed beard is interesting. My sixth sense tells me he is sitting on some juicy gossip until after POP.

I'm going to watch the radio bits a few more times. It's lovely to see Jake looking so delightfully happy.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Go Flyboys. 1 game from the Stanley Cup finals. I cant believe it.

SK I hope that rains holds off tomorrow. I am ready got some Fightins vs Red Sox. The Doctor will be in the house. Mr Roy Halladay. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Jake looks a bit pudgy. I like it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I didn't mean him making a wiener schnitzel joke, I meant that I was tempted to make the joke and had to behave.

Jake really showed his daddy vibe on Radio Disney, just like he did on Sesame Street. Same kind of inflection in his voice, and approach, and he never did do that before.

You know he wanted to tell Sam not to try parkour home, but just kept tell him that he had to train really really long and all the people it takes to do that.

And The Wiggles are definitely for the preschool set. "The Wiggles have been called 'the world's biggest preschool band' and 'your child's first rock band'."

And Jake really lit up and recognize them when he saw that name on play list. Bet he can see all their songs.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I didn't mean him making a wiener schnitzel joke, I meant that I was tempted to make the joke and had to behave.

LOL. I knew that, Special. But, I had to figure out some way to work in my "Everything's Bigger in Texas" comment. You gave me the perfect opportunity to be naughty. Thank you! *angelic expression*

    ReplyDelete
  20. You bet he instantly recognized The Wiggles. The Wiggles! pointing at the screen. lol.

That's what I meant last night when I was talking about my niece & nephew when they started watching TV. I knew absolutely nothing about Dora, Blues Clue's, Oswald, Little Baby Einstein's, etc. But with the kids loving all of those shows, I couldn't help noticing them elsewhere I would go. Now they have Boomerang and my brother is re-living his childhood showing the kids all those old classic cartoons, LOL.

Boy, it got downright hot today. My Gerbera Daisies already are looking a little sickly. I had to transplant them twice and that second time, I kinda dropped them on the patio floor. The leaves are still green but there's only sort of dead looking blooms. But - won't give up on them yet! They could recover.

  21. Hey, cool, is that Chris he's with at the Celtic game? It kind of looks like him only he looks a bit older or something. Hard to tell for sure.

Man, check him out. Front row seats at the Celtic game??? That's pretty awesome. Those have got to be some really pricey seats.

I figured he'd have to be heading over for the east coast to do alot of those shows.

And cleanshaven. Great to see him doing these things again with his friends. We're liable to be seeing him alot on the internet from here on out with this being The Big Week.

And you know what? We'll see him with anyone and everyone.

    Except Austin. **sigh**.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes Jake in the Garden!

No problem knowing who Jake is rooting for during this blow out of the game. They have one more quarter and the Celts are up by 28. And you can see Jake and Chris sitting courtside when they show the show the wide shot of the court. I swear the Celts hooked up with courtside seats after hearing saying he's a Celtics fan too on Sports Center. Looks like he came East to get ready for the whirlwind non stop PR machine this coming week. Great that he got catch a Celts game too.

And yes Dice K having an incredible game against the Phillies.

  25. "I'm just hoping for a Celtics and Lakers matchup. I will say that there's nothing like Boston fans!" -Jake

    Damn Right Jake. Damn Right.

ESPN's Doris Burke interviewed Jake during the game.

Well played Disney, PoP commercials, ESPN interviewing Jake, got get that sports fan contingent. But hey he gets to catch the Celts with Chris.

Have to say I did have to laugh they were playing "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" as the game was winding up. Who clapped? Jake. But Chris was too cool to do that one. Wait which one is the big star again?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Nice to see Chris again. He looks a little rough around the edges though. Look at Jake smiling at the ball player. Sorry, I don't know any of the player names as I seldom watch basketball. Flirting comes naturally to Jake. He can't help himself.

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL. If you're happy and you know it.

Oh, I don't know, Special. I'd have to hang with Chris on that one. There are just some things that aren't cool to do at the ballgames, whichever sport.

#1 uncool to do is the wave. I'm a staunch Wave Rebel.

It's great to see Jake looking so happy.

    lol.

Gotta hit the hay. My Postcard Trilogy is nearly completed and I've got a start going for my Christmas Mini-Sequel. Got titles for them both, too.

The Postcard Trilogy will be titled, "With the Lick of a Stamp" and the Mini is "Cowboy Up".

  29. ‘I guess I’ve gotten buff” was how Jake Gyllenhaal put it on “Entertainment Tonight.”

Yeah, just like Jennifer Hudson’s dropped a pound or two.

In the time-honored Hollywood tradition of beautiful people being paid gobs of money to get in even better shape, Gyllenhaal is sporting a ridiculously ripped bod for his role in “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” the Disney adventure flick out Friday.

But Gyllenhaal, who’s better known for his acting than his abs, seems a slightly awkward fit for the role of a big-budget swashbuckling hero. And as “P of P” is supposedly the successor to the wildly successful “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, Jake’s carrying a lot of weight on those newly chiseled shoulders. Question is, will his fans go for the new look?

“I was a bit skeptical at first, but now that I’ve seen photos and footage from the movie, I definitely think he pulls it off,” says Stephanie, who runs the fan site IHeartJake.com. “He looks hot. I don’t mind the muscles and the long hair at all. I actually prefer the ‘Prince of Persia’ look over his look in a lot of his older films.”

Comedian Sara Benincasa, who hosts a sex-chat show on Sirius XM, concurs: “As a die-hard Jake Gyllenhaal fan, I completely approve of any role that requires him to do sit-ups and take off his shirt.

“We are dating, in my mind,” she adds, “so I’m down with his choice to look hot.”

But to some of his fans — “Gyllenhaalics,” as they’re known — Jake will always be the scrawny, troubled teenager of “Donnie Darko,” “The Good Girl,” maybe even “Bubble Boy.”

To others, his iconic role is Jack Twist, the wiry gay cowboy in “Brokeback Mountain.” “Jake is not meant to be a macho hotshot star,” says script supervisor and Gyllenhaalic Roxana Moussavian, 25. “One of the reasons I love him is precisely because he does not embody that hulky, alpha-male attitude, and because he has that quirky, unassuming, slightly dorky lovableness.”

  30. -Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time star Jake Gyllenhaal dropped by Radio Disney this week to talk about his new action flick.

In his takeover, Jake responded to a question from a Radio Disney listener about what his ideal weekend would include. He shared, “I love hanging out with my friends. I love playing sports, being active, being outside. And my ideal weekend would be going for really long bike rides, I love going out into nature, maybe going for a hike. And eating really good food, because I like eating food that I grow.” The star added jokingly, “…and also jumping from building to building!” in reference to the action-packed “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”

Jake also revealed his favorite meal to cook is “Any fresh vegetable with pasta in it…with a lot of cheese. The more cheese the better!”

  33. “Prince of Persia” Jake Gyllenhaal, sitting courtside at the Celtics [team stats]’ Magical 94-71 win in Game 3 over Orlando at the TD Garden last night, told ESPN’s Doris Burke that he has his fingers crossed for a Celtics-Lakers match up in the NBA Finals. But he refused to name the team he would root for in that classic match-up!

“I will say that there are no fans like the Boston fans,” the Vineyard homeboy told the courtside yakker.

Jake wasn't the only star at the game. Patriot players Kevin Faulk, Vince Faulk, and back after knee surgery Wes Walker had everyone cheering. And Jet's QB Erik Ainge was there. Hmmm maybe to see his uncle Danny Ainge's team.

And yup Mark Wahlberg was there too.

  34. I wonder what the significance of the black jacket is? He sure has a special attachment to it, doesn't he? ReplyDelete
  43. Now, whose the realist?

Not you, that much is certain.

Jake loves biking and it is reasonable to asume that he had a good time with people who share that love.

BTW, Jake doesn't like clubbing because you say so?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Jake loves biking. So what? He's had far more recent photos with Austin (2009)to prove that. If Jake enjoys clubbing, I would love to see the photos. Because believe me, they would be posted all over the Internet by now. His PR folks would love that.

Jake has fun, just being Jake. So it's reasonable to assume enjoying life is not a difficult "exercise" for him, whether he's on two wheels, or not. Please continue to enjoy whatever point you are trying to make. I'm a pragmatist as well as a realist so I know when someone is arguing just to be obstinate. Have fun!
