New York(er) State of Mind

We don't know if they are in a New York, or Michigan, or visitors to the Vineyard.

We don't where either are for that matter. But it does look that Austin is not in NC, and Jake is not in LA. What do you want to bet they are somewhere together.

Now both Jake and Austin have said that New York is one of their favorite places.

But what's the New Yorker's take on them?

Well from these it looks a whole lot like Surf and Turf.

When my baby smiles at me....

...I go to Rio?.....Detroit? LA? MV?

saw 200 brazilians boarding a jet to rio. I tried to gatecrash and get on the flight. "No mr. Nichols. I'm sorry, you're going to detroit

Austin's still trying to get to Rio, but is he really headed to Detroit Rock City? Is it if final destination? A layover? Or some good misdirection.

Now if you want to see Austin, and don't have a map or 200 Brazilians. Look for him on screen. Both the big and small in September

Austin will be heading to the Great White North in September, when Beautiful Boy premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival Sept 12th.

Austin plays a writer who is chronicling the story of student who murdered his fellow students and took his own life, leaving his soon to be divorced parents trying to deal with the tragedy not only in their own lives, but the far reaching effects as well.

Wonder if this Austin' first trip to Canada in 2010? ; )

On the small screen OTH comes back for Season 8, on September 14th. And from comments from The CW's president after the networks executive session at the TCA Summer Press Tour, it looks like 22 is the magic number. Season 8 will be a full season. Wow 22 ways for them to make it even more crazy.

Why not throw in an around the world race, a shipwreck, a smoke monster, a former Idol judge and some vampires, in the Crazy Tree Shaker aka the writers room and VOILA! OMG!!!The Best Season Ever!

Now for seeing more of Austin right now?

Well he's doing that himself, putting up some new pics on his Crowdrise page to raise money for Gulf Relief for Global Green and for Protect our Salty Waters for Surfrider.

Which is a leg and which is a branch?

No paddle, No wave, no problem, just need a boat.

Seems like Austin is still not worried about not having enough.

I saw a woman at the gym yesterday with abs bigger than my tits

Thinking about those implants again there Mr.Nichols?

Now you know those aren't biodegradable.

When you say no to plastic bags, it's a no to plastic boobs.

Next project on Crowdrise? Research for Alternative Implants aka EcoMan Mammose the Bio-Boobs for Boys.

It does go with Brazilians.

Thought it was over

....think again.

So Janet Charleton came out with this today as the real reason for the break up:
At last the truth comes out. An acquaintance of Reese and Jake acknowledges that they were very smitten with each other for quite awhile and seemed perfectly matched. Unfortunately, Jake had a habit that Reese could not live with, and he wouldn’t give it up. He smoked way too much. And we’re not talking nicotine here. Not only did it rub Reese the wrong way, but she worried about her children being exposed to his bad habits. So, regretfully, she moved on. Note: those of you who insist that Jake is gay are NUTS.

Seriously?

Now what does it sound like to you?

Because it really sounds like Reese is upset that the JIG rumors persist and she is not coming out ahead in this one, just a whisker or more like a beard behind.

And saying that she dumped him because he "wasn't low" makes her look like she is the better of the two and so morally upstanding.

But in the end it doesn't matter what she has them say he did, she just needs to shake those gay rumors off of him, because it is affecting her future plans and that is not acceptable.

Sourced Out (But Not Yet)

Jake might be laying low during the warm weather but he will be heating things up during the cold weather months this year and next. With LaOD drugs opening in November, it looks like Source Code will be out early next year. 4 Films out in less than a year and a half? What is this 2005?

In an exclusive on Man Made Movie, Duncan talked about SC's progress. "Well, I think it is safe to say that the film will be out early next year." He is currently in the process of editing with Paul Hirsch. But there hasn't been one peek, trailer, or official picture to come out yet, and it sound like Duncan is playing this time will be a bit different than it was with Moon.

[SC] "is a little bigger, and I think we can afford to hold our cards a little closer to our chest. I feel much more comfortable with that, because it means that when we DO release stuff, we will have had a chance to really work on it, think it through and make sure it really gives everyone a good sense of what we are trying to make. Source Code is very different than Moon… its quite a bit different from a lot of films, to be honest, and Im hoping when we are ready to show people, the patience will pay off."

Duncan was asked what is was like working on SC and with Jake.

"It has been a seismic shift on how I would normally work, but I think I have adjusted ok. It all makes complete sense, when you think about it. With more money, there is more caution, more advice, more suggestion, and over the course of making the film, I had to keep reminding myself that I was asked to direct the film because the people in charge trusted my choices. I think that was the real turning point. At first it was a little over whelming, being second-guessed so much, but I educated myself fast, and fortunately I was supported by the incredibly gracious and talented Jake G, who really got behind me and trusted my instincts. It would have been easy to lose my perspective, with so many others being offered."
And we know what Jake thinks about Duncan and SC

Duncan is so awesome and he is an extraordinary director – working with him has been that exactly and I think this movie that we are making is mind boggling.”
Not that we mind getting all of this of Jake at once, but we wouldn't complain having a film a year, after year after year.

Who's the two in the picture? (Easy right?) But here's your challenge. How are they connected to Jake?

Breathless Biking

Why look for material when the tweets just bring it to you for free.

"...leaves me breathless"

Seizing the opportunity (aka one more way to fund the show and get free PR) The CW and OTH announces a next OTH Music Sensation.

Not able to afford the classic Breathless by The Killer Jerry Lee Lewis, they went for the next best thing: Rex Smith's Take My Breath Away (hey it was cheap and OTH has no cash)

Which will probably spawn the Sophin Seventies Soft Rock Collection. Basically Austin doing a whole lot of covering( this is new? ) and The CW can get the song rights cheap make some quick cash defraying some production costs.

With songs like :

Your Love is like Oxygen - Sweet

Dream Weaver - Gary Wright

Sailing - Christopher Cross

Make It with You (The Show?) - Bread

Afternoon Delight - Starland Vocal Band/ Ron Burgandy (thinking about SpongeBob and Patrick aren't you Absorbent Man?)

And of course Making Love Out of Nothing At All - Air Supply

and

Having My Baby - Oops wrong album! That's an underground tape to be released a later date.

how can you go wrong!

And they can also throw in as a package deal.

Throwback collectible 45 picture disc cover of Styx's classic Lady!
with Aerosmith's Dude Looks like a Lady on the B side.

It's ToothyTuesday oops TwoWheelTuesday

Austin encouraging everyone one to do some two wheeling to work school around town. (Hey it's one more day and way not spending time in the car together, works more than enough)

Hmmm wonder who got him in to cycling and wearing those fancy bike kicks?

Same one he saves the spandex for?

All this riding, it there could be some real fun in a two man peleton off the course.

He's got some talent there to take a picture and bike at the same time. (Makes you wonder if he hasn't taken pictures of himself doing other things before... HEY! I mean like skateboarding, canoeing, hanging out in trailers, out to dinner.... and those with the impure thoughts ....well....you need to think about what you've thought)

A little music to get into the mood... for TwoWheeling

Brow Beat This

Another accolade for Jake, more specifically his brows. Another Top 10 list.

The Best Week ever has put together the Top 20 Luscious Celebrity Eyebrows and coming in at number 10, behind such brows as Martin Scorcese, Noel Gallagher, Susan Boyle and Peter Gallagher. Must agree with many commenters who asked where was Andy Rooney and his enchanted unicorn brows. (Oops almost forgot RPat's did come in ahead of Jakey's too)

Even illustrators make them a feature.
Eyebrows can be used to convey emotion, and also frame and highlight the eyes, and these brows have some beautiful eyes to frame.

Now the au natural masculine "they just grow this way" brows of lusciousness you see today, weren't all ways that way have taken years of careful pruning waxing primping crafting. Take a look.

Baby Brows

Brows Au Nautural

They started as Scorcese.

Then someone found the tweezers.

No one will notice I've over plucked.

Were these to bond with the all female cast?

Jake's 80's Brooke Shields brows doing their best tilde

Mommy Dearest! Check out those arches.
Girrrllll.... You've got McDonald's beat.

Like two little whales playing chicken

Who has time to pluck when your hot thang is being eaten by wolves?

Is this a Marine Faye Marx? or Bad Victor/Victoria?

Zen balance of brows and 'burns.

Out Spotlight

Today's Out Spotlight is a Nigerian born civil rights activist, and was the first gay Nigerian man to be interviewed on national TV in Nigeria.

Bisi Alimi was born in Nigeria in 1975, grew up and went on to attend the University of Lagos (Nigeria) pursuing a degree in Theater. While as a student in 2003, he was outed by the University's student newspaper during student government elections.

Homosexual activity is illegal in Nigeria, the conservative influences of the Muslim faith in the north and a large Christian presence in the south. It is punishable by death by stoning in all 12 states, or being sentenced up to 14 years of imprisonment. There is no legal protection against discrimination for LGBT Nigerians. Very few are out, and violence against those in the LGBT community is frequent. Legislation is pending to criminalize same-sex marriage throughout Nigeria.

Alimi was expelled from university in 2004, before he was able to receive his degree.

Later that year, he was selected to be the Nigerian face of homosexuality at the 4th National Conference on HIV/AIDS in Abuja. Also that year, he was brought onto Funmi Iyanda's New Dawn talk show on the Nigerian Television Authority and it was here that he publicly came out before the nation and asked for acceptance from the public.

Almost immediately, there were repercussions for both Alimi and the interviewer. Almini received both love letters and death threats, and lost his home and his job. The New Dawn talk show's Friday edition was canceled and further interviewees on the showere were screened by the NTA in a country where censorship against homosexuality is already tight.

Not deterred, in July 2005, Almini helped found the Independent Project for Equal Rights-Nigeria, serving as Executive Director of the organization's Nigerian LGBT Youth Group. He also worked as director of the Alliance Rights, Nigeria's youth programs.

In December 2007, he lost his partner to a chest infection, and which led to severe mental health issues dealing with his grief. His family and friends, came to his aide, supporting him and getting back on his feet and helping to take life one day at a time.

In 2008, Alimi was granted asylum by the United Kingdom, where he currently resides. He has become a spokesperson for African gay men in the UK working with several organizations in the LGTB community and help set up a project for newly arrived African gay immigrants. He was also elected a member of the IAS youth organizing member for the Mexico 2008 meeting and was a member of AMFAR review panel for the international grants for African MSM AIDS initiatives.

Almini also is a sexual health activist and works for Naz Project London which is provides sexual health and HIV prevention and support services to targeted Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in London. "NPL aims to educate and empower communities to face up to the challenges of sexual health and the AIDS pandemic, and to mobilize the support networks that exist for people living with HIV/AIDS."

At this time he working on his Masters Degree in Film Making with concentration on documentaries and is hoping to change views of Africans about homosexuality through movies and short films.

Hard Day's Life

You have the same shot as Jake or Austin to be in a Ridley Scott movie but you have to do it quick. (half a day left) Right now producer Scott and Acadamy Award winning director Kevin McDonald are asking for people to capture whatever they are doing today July 24th on video and submit to be a part in Life in a Day a user-generated documentary film. It is an experiment to capture a single day on Earth. Check out Life in a Day Channel on YouTube, and their FAQ.

It makes you wonder what they would capture for Life in Day.

Now would Austin's most recent co-star would film themselves on a Saturday dumpster dive mission?
Just a tip there some tough angles. You know 'cause does anybody look good with their head in the trash and the butt to the camera even if it is wrapped in Herve Leger? Well some may have that self confidence. Most Little Voices wouldn't, but then they're are just little voices aren't they.

Back to feature films.

IndieWire was suggesting movies for the upcoming Toronto and Venice film festivals is suggested LaOD for Toronto. So could we Jake back in the Great White North in September?

Jake has enjoyed his times at TIFF, well except for the whole hotel room mix up thing that one year. He's gone to support his family's, his friend's, and his own films there. And Toronto has given him a great reception too.

And since IHJ has been taking a trip in the way back machine with some of the pictures its been adding here's the way back via Toronto.

The word of the day is separate.

It may be a little bittersweet for he and Annie to go back this time.

Interesting is that even back in Sept 07 at Toronto,
Jake's now often seen bodyguard was on the red carpet with him.
