Bit Brokeback?

Robbie Williams has reunited with former Take That bandmate Gary Barlow after their long feud.

Kind of has a familiar feel to it, doesn't it?

  1. Austin has tweeted more about his movie Beautiful Boy

Here are the first images of BEAUTIFUL BOY. I am very proud to be a part of this film. Michael Sheen and Maria... http://fb.me/Ffwsr7Q3

He also retweeted about the Surfrider event on Sept 11, in Malibu where he is scheduled to surf. So would take that, that for now is planning to be in CA and at the event.

Austin also retweet this which benefits Surfrider's efforts for coastal preservation each time the video gets viewed.

RT:Surfrider http://allatonce.org/explore $1 for Gaviota Coast Preservation with every view of this video! pls rt!

  2. In reading about the Surfrider Event that Austin is participating in I noticed that Eric Balfour is also taking part. He must be finishing up filming the first season of the series "Haven" up here in Nova Scotia along with Emily Rose. And we all remember Emily from her performance in JFC. I've only seen a couple of episodes of this HBO production but it looks really good.

I'm curious to know if Emily still maintains a connection with Austin, even if it's through this event and the fact the Eric B is known to be participating at same.

  3. Hey Seaweed

That's cool that Eric will be a part of the the Surfrider event too.

A few days ago Austin tweeted about people shoul follow Luis Guzman who was also on JFC.

You gotta follow @IamLuisGuzman. Trust me. It will be one of the best decisions you've ever made.

  5. This is very interesting.

What do you think of this?

AUS10NICHOLS: I may give up acting for cinematography. I am getting very interested in the camera and its world of possibilities.

Very nicely done video - I sure can see reminders of BBM, especially the dancing scenes. :)

Nice about Austin's love of cinematography. :)

  9. Former Republic National Committee Ken Mehlman comes out.

Mehlman came out publicly in an interview with The Atlantic(magazine)

"Mehlman is the most powerful Republican in history to identify as gay."

Publicly he lead the Republican party in the fight against Same Sex Marriage, behind the scenes he say he tried to strop the GOP from attacking:

Privately, in off-the-record conversations with this reporter over the years, Mehlman voiced support for civil unions and told of how, in private discussion with senior Republican officials, he beat back efforts to attack same-sex marriage."

Mehlman has also comes out in support of same sex marriage and is co-chairing a major fundraiser against Prop 8 with the American Foundation for Equal Rights.

Deja vu- The first thing I noticed was the blue and the tan they were wearing. It made me think of Jack and Ennis.

Found the song stuck in my head for a little while.

  11. Hmmm, maybe it's me ... apparently the video isn't going over that well with Brokeback fans.

I know I march to my own drummer a lot of the time, but I thought this video was very subtle - there's a nod to certain scenes from Brokeback, and the colors, and a resemblance, sort of, to our guys, but to me, it's a story about two men who may have meant more to each other than either of them are willing to admit, I don't see it as a parody/spoof at all. JMO.

  12. I love hearing talk about Jake and Austin working on the other side of the camera. It would sure change their lives and maybe then they could finally live normal lives.

Well, maybe Austin should just follow his heart... of course if he did that then I wish he and Jake would also follow their hearts and just be their true selves, open and out there, doing it their own way and perhaps blazing a new trail.

And by the way, one academy award nominated cinematographer played the role of an uncredited young mexican in Brokeback Mountain and walked off into the darkness with Jack Twist.

Yea, I know I'm clutching at straws, but it's late and I like these little things where it's possible to draw weak linkages or degrees of separation.... so shoot me!

    G'night, that's it for me.

  15. Think that Austin's comment about going behind the camera is really big statement. And not just about his career.

And it's interesting that he says it after talk about Jake possibly stepping behind the camera for the movie adaptation of Born to Run (Leadville). Maybe Jake's production company Nine Stories is ready to do it's first project.

Can see Austin working in translating words into a visual. It sounds like he does "see" the story in his head. Thinking about how he tells a story and writes, it's him painting a picture.

And moving behind the camera could be the game changer for them. That it leads to them to a place where they can have the life they want and openly.

    Love it Seaweed!

Speaking of links. Totally noticed how Austin said he rode motorcycles. He has never said that before. Hmmmmm.

And did you notice the name J-Bone? Do you really think that was about Julian? LOL

  17. It really shows how iconic Brokeback Mountain has become in our culture and emotional psyche when a video about self-reproach and the prospect of a second chance reunion inspire such a touching, albeit tongue and cheek homage. Wow, we get the blue and brown coloration, Ennis’ plaid shirt, the laundry mat the return to sender line, the dance hall, the bar, the fishing trip, the going to take the leap together metaphor and the suggestion that the silences between them carry more emotion and meaning than any words or lyric can convey. Robbie Williams also said in a recent interview that he almost didn’t show up the night he reunited with Gary Barlow because he was worried about “nasty” comments he had made about Barlow in the past. I immediately thought of Jack Nasty. LOL! Thank you for posting this Special. I loved the still photography from BbM as well. Never enough time. Never enough.

By the way I thought it was interesting that the Tory Party in England is very uneasy about Prime Minister David Cameron’s alliance with the Liberal Democrats. Evidently, the partnership has been referred to as the “Brokeback Coalition.”

  18. As head of the Republican party, Mehlman was very involved in the strategy to put anti-gay initiaves in the ballot in 2004 in order to get right wing voters out who would vote for Republican candidates. So not buying his talk about civil unions.

About as surprising as Ricky Martin, but in this case he did an incredible amount of damage, which he has yet to acknowledge.

Austin seems much more expressive about his personal thoughts these days, doesn't he? I definitely think J & A have always had a short and long range plan for their future together. Mr. Nichols has many natural gifts that I believe would easily transfer to the artistry of photographic composition and design. Behind the cameras instead of bound by all the restrictions of acting sounds sensible and challenging. I remember back on January 4, 2010 there were stories about Jake going back to school too.

Hmmm. Jake in Leadville with a flip cam. Supposedly filming. J-Bone, Motocycles. Austin's obsession with sex, yoga, time out, healthy meals. Yep, nothing interesting is going on here at all. *grin*

  22. Dear Ted:
Do you talk about the following B.V. subjects much under their real names: Crescent Kumquat, Judas Jack-Off, Dashed Dingle-Dream, Crotch Uh-Lastic and Grey Goose?
    —Chaz

    Dear Recent Appearances:
Hmmm...Crescent's been mentioned on and off lately. Not much from Judas or Dashed. Crotchy's recently been featured, but then again, he's always been here and there, lurking around. And I think that's all I'll tell you for no.

    Dear Ted:
If you knew for sure that an actor was straight, but it was a common belief or rumored that they were gay, would you set the record straight?
    —Jo

    Dear No Dice:
Why? Isn't it just as unfair for a gay actor to be wrongly rumored to be straight? I try to stay mum on it all.

    Dear Ted:
I'd love to know if Baby Tile is ready to be called Tile Tot and if it's a girl or a boy?
    —Pitter Patter

    Dear Tile Offspring:
What's with this huge interest in Baby Tile—who didn't ask to be brought into this PR web, mind you.

I'm reserving judgment for now as well; when politicians misuse their considerable influence, it's dismaying.

I really liked the Robbie and Gary video too - one of the nicer tributes I have seen, and believe me, nobody messes with Brokeback Mountain on my watch. Nice that they are friends again, that's worth celebrating. :)
