Austin might wear it on his finger.
But Jake wears it in his hair.
Jake has said he worked with costumer designer Penny Rose on Dastan's look. And recently Jake said in an interview about PoP that he is a perfectionist. So paying attention to those tiny details, especiall to have something that represents someone special to him is not so far fetched.
I noticed that bit of blue as well. Another shout out to his man.
ReplyDeletePoor troll cant handle the truth. Those legs are undeniable.
I loved Dastan's turquoise and silver hair beads. Great song today too.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what happened to cause such a stir last night!
Hurricane Julian is on the way tho. ;)
More about Surfrider. Again Austin is just such a nice guy.
ReplyDeleteThe first to arrive to the event were Austin Nichols and Brian Geraghty. Nichols found this Surfrider event especially close to his heart this year with the current events in America.
“I’m thrilled to be here for the Surfrider Foundation for this Celebrity Expression Session. I recently got really, really angry about the oil spill in the Gulf and that is what got me going on this,” Nichols said, who recently began an active Twitter account to raise awareness and funds for the country’s oceans, @Aus10Nichols. “I’m really happy to be a part of Surfrider and try to raise money for you guys.”
After the event, he tweeted: “I just surfed with Flea and Anthony Keidis. Thanks @Surfrider for a great day!!!”

Holy crap! Jake's workout for PoP.

Larimar: "A strikingly radiant blue stone lies conspicuously among the pebbles at a beach on the south coast of the Island La Hispaniola in the Caribbean. Is this beautiful gem from the sea? Or is it from this island of which some believe to be where Atlantis fell? Could it be that this is "the Blue Stone of Atlantis", the mysterious "Dolphin Stone"?
ReplyDeleteLover of the Sea
Yep, I sure can see Jake wearing a bit of Larimar in his hair to remind him of his man and proudly display the stone as a talisman... captured on film forever. How appropriate for him to give our
Surfrider a stone so indelibly connected to the sea.

Beautifully put M&M.
If you look at PoP you can see the evolution of Dastan's look.
Two interesting posts about the costuming in PoP and Dastan. Check it out here.

If you look closely can also see some of the charms stones and talismans Jake wears change during the movie.
I loved the costumes by Penny Rose too. ITA, nicely put, M and M.

Check out Austin doing a headstand on his board!
The headstand is awesome, although that surfboard probably had the surface area of a barn floor. That board was huge! I think Austin was trying to show that he's still a very young 30, lol.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great pics on that site.
Well, let's see if I can get some writing done tonight. I've got real quiet and that is what I need for the utmost concentration!
It is interesting the color of that little bead in Jake's hair.
I love the surfboard headstand! Very nice, Mr. Nichols. Reminds me of the headstand photo Jake shared with everyone on the Ellen DeGeneres show. The one taken from the Earth Day event he attended in the Arctic Circle on April 22, 2005. Those boys sure are amazingly talented when it comes to linear realignments, aren't they?!
ReplyDeleteHey, I wonder if Rachel Bilson's people have sent her on to go sniff up another trail since Jake's seems to have vaporized. On JustJared today, there's a post about her & Chace Crawford being together somewhere and looking very flirty.
ReplyDeleteYou're the turkey dinner!
ReplyDeleteYou're the Nile
Oh, no! And, here I thought the Rake (Rachel + Jake) romance was destined for eternity. I'm so disappointed. :-(

ReplyDeleteWow, more great photos of Austin. He needs to do more things like this Surf event.
ReplyDeletePG thanks for the link to Frank and Ethel doing You're the Top. I've heard the song before, but not that version. I love music like that.
You're welcome, Dest!! Cool - someone actually watched it! And enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI linked the wrong one, too. There's another one that includes Frank & Ethel's "playful banter" before they actually go into the song. It's such a happy little song. I just loved it. You're the Nile. Have you seen Pal Joey, Destiny? It has a young Frank Sinatra & Kim Novak. I LOVE that movie.
Well, I'm having some "Grace's Best" Sunflower Seed Petite Cookies. They are excellent. I got them at my local Hy Vee and five cookies is only 130 cal. - not bad! Plus, they have only 8 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein, plus a tiny bit of Vit A, Calcium, Vit C and 6% RDA of iron! In a cookie.
The problem is they are kind of small. So I've already had 7, I think. LOLLLLL!!! I knew I couldn't stop at 5. Heck, one cookie is like one bite for me. lol.
8.
lol.

Even though I love to watch musicals, I've never gotten around to seeing Pal Joey. I'll have to add it to my que.
ReplyDeletePoor Jake indeed. But then again don't think he really cares about Rachel's dinner dates.
ReplyDeleteRemember Jake talking about going to the Arctic and doing a head stand. What I remember more is Jake and Ellen doing that Inuit song. Ok, well attempting to do it.
Agree Austin should do more surf events, he's totally in his element. - Just Add Water.
Anne Hathaway & Jake Gyllenhaal’s on-screen chemistry: icky or hot?

ReplyDeleteCUT A REDBAND TRAILER
ReplyDeleteI walked out of the advanced screening I attended of this movie excited for the first time in awhile about a movie. I always have an opinion about a film going in and am rarely surprised. I was floored by this one but wondered how the film makers would cut a trailer for it. I understand the difficulty involved with trying to categorize this movie into brackets. The film makers decided to cut 2 trailers, 1 being a typical rom-com style preview and the 2nd a slightly funnier but still not provocative trailer. After the trailer, the boards around here rightfully went crazy about how the oscar buzzed about movie was just another typical rom-com. I don't blame you IMDBers. If I didn't already see the movie, I wouldn't be slightly interested in seeing it. Ed Zwick would have been a redeeming favtor though. All I can say is give this movie a shot. Its way, way, way, way, way, more Knocked Up than the trailer makes it look. They are going for the female audience when in reality they were already going to come to this movie.
This is a call to whoever is marketing this movie. TRUST ME. Cut a redband trailer and put it online and get some guys really talking about this film. Save the image of this movie! I know you are disappointed with our reactions to the trailer. Show what the movie is really all about without giving away too much of course. Show the cussing and dirty jokes. The debauchery and nudity. The corporate scheming and the sexual encounters. Thats what was appealing about the movie. It is utterly provocative and the trailer makes it look like a cookie cutter, happy couple story. PLEASE SAVE THIS FILM AND CUT A REDBAND TRAILER!!!
IMDb
Poster is out for "Love and Other Drugs," Edward Zwick's romance between a free spirit (Anne Hathaway) and a Viagra salesman (Jake Gyllenhaal). It's a serious Oscar contender in all top categories Gold Derby

The book is a slightly wacky look on Hinduism and its principles like yoga and meditation.
Sounds like Jake - who seems to have discovered yoga for himself a few years ago and who has also talked about trying to follow far eastern religions (in his case Buddhism) - has inspired Austin again just like with the Leadville marathon.
Of course, Austin gotta go with the quirky version or it just wouldn't be he of the head-scratching fashion decisions.
Lol, I have not called the DMV lately.

ReplyDeleteYou're right Stubborn again it is another example of influencing each other, and something you see in couples. Being interested in what interests their partner.
You know what else the premise of the book reminds me of, his comments from the Everything Austin interview you posted here a few days ago. About what he would want Julian to do, the quest of discovery and meeting interesting people.
Of course, Austin gotta go with the quirky version or it just wouldn't be he of the head-scratching fashion decisions.
LOL. So True!
