He created the Gill Foundation, in 1994, and was one of the first major foundations to benefit the GLBT community.

Gill Foundation has been an advocate for LGBT equality. They are committed to securing equal opportunity for all Americans, including sexual orientation and gender expression.

The foundation is also dedicated to advancing equality by supporting nonprofit organizations that serve lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied individuals, as well as people with HIV/AIDS. Since its inception, the Gill Foundation has invested more than $178 million in nonprofit organizations throughout the country.

Their work is split into three primary areas. Advocating for equality by partnering with LGBT nonprofits – both state and national organizations – that work every day to bring about equality. Commitment to build a better Colorado by partnering with hundreds of organizations that share their commitment to improving the quality of life for people across the state. Educating and energizing the public and donors about the wide variety of LGBT nonprofits that further equality every day. One of its projects is the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado. The Fund has provided financial support to numerous organizations which serve the general public, including nearly $1 million to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina disaster relief.

A major donor to the Democratic party and to various political causes, such as the failed effort to pass Referendum I, which would have established legal domestic partnerships for same-sex couples in Colorado, his political endeavors, are directed through the Gill Action Fund. He has created Connexion.org as a vehicle for engaging the GLBT community in political activities.

In addition to funding the gay and lesbian movement for equal rights, Gill is also a strong supporter of social justice organizations and educational institutions. He was one of the first major contributors to the Colorado AIDS Project and has long supported local public radio and television through program underwriting.

Gill married Scott Miller, 31, UBS wealth adviser, in an intimate ceremony at Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Massachusetts, in April 2009. They live in Denver, Colorado.

  2. Hey, well, ask and you shall be given.

LOLLLLL!!!! That's awesome. Do they read or what? There's the date stamp. There's the location. There's the bodies.

Well, now wait a minute. Is that really Austin? I need to see his left big toe in a flip flop or else his right thigh clad in denim crossed over the left so I can really be sure.

    Until I see that, I really can't say 100%.

  3. LOL, lookit the way Austin wears his backpack. That always cracks me up.

As usual, Austin surrounded by the ladies. Is that guy not fortunate or what?

Hey, and isn't that something that they tell us who all those other people are? That's really considerate. I'd like to thank Sonia, Martita, Lauri, Jess & Lydia for revealing themselves so willingly.

If this isn't the answer for the demand, I don't know what is.

    Okay, Reese, you're up, lady!

If Sophia can snap her fingers at everyone like this on command, then surely you can still post a pic of you inside that courtyard.

  4. Very nice pictures of the couple. I especially like the one where they are holding hands.

First time I've seen a bunny that looks like a Dalmatian. Cute.

I've been watching Tom Hardy films lately. No, he is not replacing Jake for me, but I do think he is a great actor coming into his own having broken through in Inception. I recently watched Bronson. Terrific performance. A take no prisoners, afraid of nothing one where he is on screen almost continually. Comparable to Heath as the Joker. Tough film to watch for the subject matter so I cant reccomend it for everyone. Oh, and Tom is naked for about 1/4 of the film. Not sexy naked, but crazy naked. He is not afraid of full frontal nudity for a part.

  5. Just want to clarify that I was referring to the couple in the post when I said I liked the picture, not to the bearding couple, in my comment.

    Oh, you better believe it.

  7. PrairieGirl, you are certifiable.

Austin's trousers seem especially long in that twitpic. Do you suppose those are Jake's trousers he's wearing?? Oh, no, it doesn't go like that does it. It's supposed to be the other way around because 30 year old men don't wear jeans and trousers that are that long, isn't that right OMG knowitalls?

    ReplyDelete
  8. isn't that right OMG knowitalls?

So Sophia and Austin are trying to make fools of people by waiting to the last minute to post a photo of them supposedly at the Barcelona Airport? Kinda of shows you what type of jerks they are, doesn't it? Still, all the manipulations in the world do not change the facts. Austin is gay and Sophia is his beard. And, by the way, why post a photo from the airport? Why nothing from the beautiful countryside and museums. Oh, that's right. They want to be quiet about there relationship. I don't see any Spanish signs or any proof the photo is from Barcelona. Sorry, but even the airport photo is so generic, it could have been taken anywhere.

  10. Congratulations M & M on the Giants win.

    Sorry Tom about the Phillies.

So Sophia and Austin are trying to make fools of people by waiting to the last minute to post a photo of them supposedly at the Barcelona Airport?

They're already making fools of their fans with their fauxmance, so why not pile it on. It also supports homophobia, and does nothing for their careers.

I just read an interesting interview with Zachary Quinto in the NYT this morning, and among other things he talked about his refusal to play the celebrity tabloid game. The article also mentions the gay rumors, and like Bomer he talks about keeping his life private and doesn't answer the question.

  15. The trip to Spain must have been OTH or charity business. The pic is suspicious to me. Look at the other older photos on that site. Why be at Wilmington airport back in August.

Hey PG, I answer and use my phone on speaker all the time. My husband heard the call and yelled out I recognize that voice. He says hello.

Took a break to watch the Steelers win. Good game, right down to the wire.

I agree, the whole thing makes no sense.

Austin says nothing the entire trip.
Sophia puts up a picture pose that lends no support that she's with Austin over there.
And upon demand, they provide a picture with a date on it.

But no newspaper! And nothing there that says it's Spain.

LOL! I mean, I hate to get technical, but.... Anyone can slap a date on that picture. That was done on the computer, that's not from the camera itself.

  19. Another wedding???? Yeah, right, Jack.

Oh yeah, let's fly all the way to Spain for a wedding for 5 days, 2 of which are spent traveling. That leaves 3 days. 3 days in Spain. Alllll for nuts and mints in a paper cup.

    Right, Jack.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sophia tweted that they were there for a wedding, her freinds lives in Spain and she obviously wanted Sophia there. What's the big deal PG? People travel to attend their freinds wedding, and yes even overseas.

They probably have to film tomorrow that's why they are back.

What you should be asking yourself is why Austin tweeted about going to Spain which turned out to e a wedding a private affair, notice she didn't tweet about flying there, yes she did post a pic yesterday but she didn't mention anything about the wedding until it as over.

Austin had no business tweeting that since it appears that it was her freind and he was tagging along.

He is really an attention whore isn't he?

Remember that "hot" romance between Taylor Swift and Taylor Launter? Looks like we might have another young bimbo in the running for beard of the year. Can't wait to see how she integrates homophobia into her lyrics since she writes about all her "boyfriends" Jake could be a great inspiration.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well, well, well.

So Austin & Sophia think they have manipulated us just the way they wanted, have they?

Sorry, you two, but nothing changes as far as your fauxmance being as phony as the color of Kenny Rogers' hair. Or either of your own's for that matter.

That is Austin Don Nichols in Leadville CO in August of 2010 with Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal. I'm sorry to break it to some people. That's him. PR tried to make it sound like Jake was only with Peter S & some Joe Bloe filmers. Austin tried to make it sound like he was in California or in NC. But he wasn't.

The two guys were in Leadville CO. Together. We have the photo to prove it.

So, I'm sorry. But nothing can change that and the cat is out of the bag.

And no amount of twitter and fanpop manipulations and shenanigans will ever change my mind. And it's not going to change a few other minds.

You guys thought that it would go by unnoticed. Well, Austin-poo, you can thank your own latrine photo for the discovery and now for your own present jet lag.

  34. And I just spent 1/2 hr earlier today on the phone with someone defending Austin. Hey, when I have egg on my face, I have no problem admitting it.

But I'm going to tell you something.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I won't be manipulated and I won't be made a fool of again. And no "pacifying" or "secret message" twitter is going to salvage this one.

But hey, since that last request was so easy, let me put one more out there.

In 2 1/2 years, there has been not one single smooch between Sophin. Zilch. Nada. Zero. None.

No, wait!!! In four years, there has not been one single papped civilian bussing.

Now, talk about odd and suspect.

See what you can do about that, Soapy, can ya? Now, I don't think any of your "girl posse" can help out with that particular one; you're going to have to figure out how fast you can accomplish that one on your own.

  40. Thanks for sharing that Quinto video, Destiny. A powerful example of how every voice makes a difference.

"In a sign that the traditional media is continuing to move away from the idea that asking celebrities about their sexual orientation is somehow offlimits, the New York Times published an interview today with Zachary Quinto that broached the topic. About Quinto, who is starring in the upcoming revival of Tony Kushner's Angels in America, the Times notes that ..."the blogosphere is rife with speculation about his sexuality, no doubt fueled by his support for gay rights and organizations like the Trevor Project. He prefers not to feed that rumor mill with either substantiation or dismissal. He speaks passionately about gay marriage, about “don’t ask, don’t tell” and about the recent wave of gay bullying and suicides."

  46. Ok I was just talking to PG. Now I understand the travel mystery of the flight from Wilmington to NYC. First there are no flights from Wilmington that go to NYC from either airport and connect to Barcelona. You can go to Charlotte and get a direct flight to Barcelona or NYC but why would you connect from Charlotte to NYC when you can go directly to Barcelona. So there is def something a little off when Austin was explaining his travel route. PG says she checked it out prove her wronng if you can. My guess now is that there was a reason for them going to NYC first. They must have paid somebody a visit. Good catch PG.

  50. There are flights from Wilmington to Barcelona but they are all stop overs, sometimes 2. So if you want a non-stop flight to Spain then NY is the best route.

There are non-stop flights from NC to LGA that gets you there under 2 hours, I checked for the flights from NC to JFK and they seem to be stop overs like to ATL, which would add a few more hours to your flight.

The LGA to Spain flights are mostly stop overs , JFK ro Spain, there are non-stop flights.

NC to Spain: 12 -20 hours based on the # of stop overs.

NC to LGA under 2 hours, don't know how long it is to drive to LGA to JFK but the non stop flight to Spain is about 8 hours.

NC to JFK: again I checked just picked a day in the week, Tuesday and chose anytine and the flights from NC to JFK seem to be stop overs adding sevral hours to the trip.

I assume they booked this flight themselves since it was for her friend wedding, this way they would land in Spain the same day, 10.20 since they had to leave on sunday for I assume filming tomorrow.

So yes Tom therer are flights from NC that connect to both LGA and JFK, one has stop overs and one doesn't.

The NC to Spain flights have the same stop overs. If you plan on being somewhere for 3 days then thiw was probably the best route, most people hate stop overs.

He sounds really happy that OTH was picked up for the full season!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Delat or you talking about Wilmington, NC or Wilmington, NC?

If you are talking about Charlotte why would you go to NY. They have direct flight from Charlotte to NY. You would think that is the way That would have been the most convenient to go.

  54. Does it really matter. Austin was there.

Funny how there were tons of specifics about Jake being with Peter Sarsgaard and Christopher McDougall during that Leadville trip, and even frequenting his natural habitat of coffee shops and an outdoor clothing and equipment store "with Peter last night, where they bought 'some camping stuff'." Apparently reports even indicated how much Jake and Peter really liked the Sawatch Backcountry Shop. All those details, yet not a single word about Austin anywhere. No doubt, just an innocent oversight. After all, we all know how hard it is to see Austin with that nearly 6'4" frame.

Speaking of Fantasy team M and M my football fantasy went crazy today. I won big. I was league Champ last year.

That's impressive, Tom. Congrats! You must be a gifted strategist and a big picture thinker. Fantasy football is not an easy sport.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oooh, nice picture, Tom! Wish I was there now!

Let me clear one thing up.

I know there are flights from Wilmy to NYC, alright? I know that.

What I am saying is that if you want to fly from Wilmy to Barcelona Spain, there are no flights with stopovers in NYC.

You can stop over at Charlotte. You can stop over through Atlanta. Or you can stop over at Philadelphia Airport.

But there are no Wilmy to Barcelona flights that have stopovers in NYC!!!!!

You would have to make two separate flight reservations. One for Wilmy to Kennedy (as I was just informed by someone that Intnl flights do not fly out of LGA) or maybe JFK. And then you're going to have to make another entirely different flight reservation for the rest of the distance from NYC to Barcelona.

So why would you do that when they have flights from Wilmy to Barcelona? You get taxed once on that fare. Why would you make two flight reservations?

Because your husband happens to be in NYC, that's why. And you can both hook up there.

    ReplyDelete
  56. And the "Barcelona 2010" stamp on the airport picture doesn't prove anything.

That is not a camera date stamp. That was done by the girl who put the picture up on her blog. She did that.

There is nothing in that picture that tells us it's the Barcelona Airport or that it was taken this weekend. Sorry. It's a piss poor amateur job.

And so the flights take that long, huh? Basically an entire work day at the barest minimum. Add to that your check in time. Waiting to board. Waiting to take off. Waiting for everyone to pull & tug at their bulging, overstuffed carry-on's from out of the overhead bins. Transferring flights. Security checkpoints again. Waiting for everyone to push and cram their overstuffed carry-on's again into the overhead bins. Landing. Catching cabs. Checking into hotels or driving to someone's house. So, 2 of the days are spent entirely on travel alone.

That leaves 2 - 2 1/2 days for this wedding. I think Sophia's had about 55 girlfriends getting married this year alone. Then it's time to board the plane and do it all over again. Sooner or later, she's going to run out of horses.

    ReplyDelete

  66. Dear Ted:
I have been out and proud for 20 years now and with all of the recent suicides and assaults in the news I have been batting around an idea in my head. Here goes: What if 10-20 major news outlets got together and outed all gay and bisexual public figures (celebs, athletes, politicians etc) at the same time during a huge news conference? The number of people outed would be so stunningly large that the effects could be positive for all involved. The celebrities would be free to live their lives, suicidal gay children and adults everywhere would have this group to identify with and the rest of the population who have idolized these public figures their entire lives might just gain a new perspective on the issue. Litigation would be tricky, if not impossible. I realize that this is a radical idea but this could be just what the world needs to finally wake up and starting treating each other with compassion and understanding. My pup and I thank you for all that you do.
    —Seattle Fan

    Dear Good Luck:
It's so extreme and against everything I stand for, I say...go for it!

    Dear Ted:
Have you heard rumors of any of your closeted Blind Vicers contemplating coming out in support against bullying? Kisses and licks from all my shelter dogs!

First of all, frankly, the comment was made at an early time in the morning where it’s usually just me that is up blogging. If there’s anyone else, it’s always Jack. Second, we’ve now had several virus-laden links posted on the blog. Third, I’m just not used to friendly commenters anymore.

For the most part, it’s just us regulars commenting now on here. Roma’s been about the only new friendly commenter for quite awhile. Not that there aren’t alot of friendly lurkers but they don’t comment.

Still, not valid enough reasons to have not paid close enough attention. Nor does it excuse any rudeness on my part so I sure do apologize – that was totally wrong of me. Hope you forgive; if not, it’s my loss.
