Jake's not the only one who has custom made suits.
Austin's suit for tonight's OTH was made to measure. You can't go with off the rack for something with a fit like this, look how it fits those long long arms with out having to roll them up at the paws. And notice the fine details, like the dog shaped bow tie, and how his hat rest perfectly covering just 3 of his fivehead, but with a little lift over the eyes to open up his face. Wonder if they had to use CAD to design it. "Give him some forehead but not too much!" "Too much, Too much!"
Tonight on the Spooky Crazy Tree.
“Not Afraid” better name would be "Mama and the Misses"
Halloween rolls into Tree Hill, as does Julian's mama Sylvia who pops up. Should BrookeDavis(TM) be afraid? Or more afraid of the fact that mother and son are going as a couple costume and she is getting the squeeze going as an orange? (BTW What do you make of the show that takes a Rose Bowl Queen and turns into King Orange of the Orange Bowl? Hmmmmm) She thought the MamaDrama was all wrapped up sitting in the pokey, but it's back and she's the one in the orange suit this time.
Nathan begins a new career as junior Jerry McGuire. (How long before someone yells "Show me the money"?) Meanwhile, The Real Housewife of Tree Hill admits she's coulrophobic. Feats of Clay and Bikini Quinn struggle with life back at the beach house and zombies, but sadly it's not Sean of the Dead which would be much more fun to watch. And it's open mic night at Tric. Now that's really something to afraid about.
Jake was all kinds of dashing at the 17th Annual ELLE Women In Hollywood Celebration at The Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, last night.
WonderwallMSN tweeted "Jake Gyllenhaal sprinted down the red carpet ... giggling."
Looking all cleaned and suited up in Burberry, that Jake charm was back in business during the festivities. It appears he introduced friend and former co-star Gywenth who was being honored along with Hilary Swank, Diane Keaton, Jodie Foster and Sofia Coppola.
Ad Age L.A. bureau chief, tweeted this during the event "Jake Gyllenhaal: 'Gwyneth as a boiy in Shakespeare in Love made me sign up for Brokeback Mountain. Or was it Shallow Hal?' "
And afterward with the night being so young? One tweet had him at Mumford & Son's sold out show, and other had him at The Piano Bar on Wilcox. Well he was already suited up and ready to go.
Giggling on the red carpet? LOL.
ReplyDeleteAgree M &M and PG about today's movies. I find myself going to fewer and fewer movies as a result. In dependent films are not necessarily better either, a lot of them have a sameness to them too.
A morning of planes, trains and automobiles, with plenty of time to think. And what came into my head, more words for Austin's 10 dollar bang for your buck words.

JAKE Gyllenhaal praised Gwyneth Paltrow as being more than “a mere mortal” at ELLE magazine’s 17th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons hotel Monday night.
ReplyDelete"Bottom line, she is not a mere mortal like the rest of us,” he said. “She is an internet savvy, award-winning lifestyle guru, making all of us look lazy. She doesn’t just find a nice guy to settle down with — she marries a rock star and then domesticates him. She doesn’t just cook — she goes to Spain with Mario Batali and then domesticates him!
“She is not just a lifestyle guru, but she invents a whole new fitness movement and then convinces me to try it, and I do it, and I am, therefore, domesticated … sweating my a*s off in spandex, which is humbling and embarrassing.”
[Gwyneth] returned the compliment later in the evening and praised Jake for being such a good friend.
Upon accepting her honour from the publication, she said, “Jake is gorgeous and hilarious and when we worked together in Proof, I was pregnant and I was a f***ing nightmare hormonal mess, but we managed to stay friends through it anyways.”

Jake Gyllenhaal confirms Cross-Dressing Fetish
ReplyDeleteWhat made Jake Gyllenhaal go gay in Brokeback Mountain?
A cross-dressing Gwyneth Paltrow...
When the hunkster introduced Paltrow last night at Elle's Women in Hollywood fete, he talked about how beautiful the Oscar winner looked in Shakespeare In Love but also pointed out she was "very convincing as a fine-featured young boy."
So much so, he cracked, "It was the experience of watching Gwyneth dressed as a young boy that immediately lead me to sign onto Brokeback Mountain." (If there is any truth to Jakey's story, we must take this moment to bow down and say, "Thank you, Gwyneth Paltrow.")
just want to say i`ve seen "i love you phillip morris". as the movie has been available in europe for some months but not in the USA, there won`t be many spoilers.
ReplyDeletewe saw the film with our kids because we thought it was strictly a comedy....we shouldn`t have done that!
my first impression was a little disappointment because i didn`t laugh much, but it was an ok film.
we saw the film three days later without kids, and it is a touching one. it touched me the first time too, just didn`t expect it to be what it was, so needed time.
it will never be "brokeback", never supposed to be anywhere like it either. but, i still think about the movie, so i think it`s touching, or i wouldn`t have. i think it`s more a drama-comedy than a comedy. hug norwegian girl
NG I can't believe we still have not been able to see I love you Phillip Morris in the US yet. I have heard that Jim Carrey is very good.
ReplyDeletetom<3, i fell in love with jim( the last thing i thought) and even much more ewan. it`s a comedy, but i forgot it was:)
ReplyDeleteOuch my Phils are in trouble real m and M and M. The SF Giants are playing well. A must win for the Phils tomorrow
ReplyDeleteMarc Malkin's sighting are usually press release kind of stuff, so what the heck is going on over at E! that he does the Jake cross dressing headline.
ReplyDeletehe talked about how beautiful the Oscar winner looked in Shakespeare In Love but also pointed out she was "very convincing as a fine-featured young boy."
Shakespeare in Love came out in 1998, when Jake was 18, interesting him pointing out fine-featured young boy. A long time before people think the gossip began about who Jake likes to date.
I believe I heard Jake say he read the short story Brokeback Mountain at a very young age and knew he wanted to be a part of the movie right away.
ReplyDeleteI also believe that Jake knew very well at 18 that he was Gay.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Brokeback Mountain is still Austin Nichols all time favorite movie. Of course he did say that.
I think both guys knew they were Gay at a very young age.
I loved Aus10 tweet saying that he was traveling to Spain. He still hasn't been able to get over those hot Soccer players:-)
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear what you thought on that "I Love You, Phillip Morris" movie, ng! I want to see that one. I like Ewan McGregor and I love Jim Carey, although I've not seen him in a serious role. But I look forward to seeing this whenever it does come out here in the behind-the-times U.S.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing, ng?? Well, I hope.
:)
Giggling. LOL. Awwwww. Love that giggle of his.
ReplyDeleteAnd another awww...

That line is from Office Space, a cubicle dweller "CLASSIC". LOLLLLL!!! Now, there's a great movie.
Uh.....yeeeeeeaaaah.
LOLLLL!!! I love Gary Cole in that.
And Milton!!!! "You have my stapler"
LOLLLLLLLL!!!!
It looks like we're going to need for you to come in on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLOLLLLL!!
I downloaded an ap on my phone that is full of Office Space lines. You can use them as ringtones if you want.
It's awesome. I told my big buddy about them yesterday and he has seen that movie, too. It's just classic.
I believe I heard Jake say he read the short story Brokeback Mountain at a very young age and knew he wanted to be a part of the movie right away.
ReplyDeleteI believe Jake said he was 16, on the Jay Leno show (1/2006), when he was approached about Brokeback Mountain. I smiled when he said that because Annie Proulx published the short story in October, 1997 in The New Yorker when Jake would have turned 17 that December. I thought it was telling that someone would feel comfortable enough to approach a 16 young man about possibly playing a gay role. Let's face it, it's unlikely someone would have approached a 16 year straight adolescent. He told Leno at the time that he said he wouldn't be interested and sort of laughed it off like no way would he do a role like that, but someone close to him sure thought he would. Maybe someone who knew him all too well.
Ouch my Phils are in trouble real m and M and M. The SF Giants are playing well. A must win for the Phils tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI know, Tom. I can't believe it either. Cody Ross came through, again. The Giants do have an excellent pitching staff, but they sure better start hitting. Lincecum should be scheduled for a Thursday start and I'm really looking forward to watching him do his thing again. He really wasn't throwing his best stuff the other night. You should see him when he's really on.
I hear ya M and M. I am hoping that the Phils go back to their best and pitch Halladay tomorrow. They can't go down 3 to 1. Halladay didnt have his best came either when he pitched against Lincecum that first game. Of course it is pretty hard to match the no hitter he had the game before that. I ain't ready to give up yet though. The Giants have a rookie pitcher going tomorrow. All I am hoping is that the series does go back to Philly for game 6 and 7. Looks like the Yankees have their hands full too. Cliff Lee is amazing. Could be Texas vs San Fran when everyone thought it would be a Yanks vs. Phils rematch.
ReplyDeleteBut it ain't ain't over till the last out. Got my fingers crossed. Let the best team win.
Everyone is saying they want to HIGH-FIVE me. Is this sexual???
ReplyDeletehalf a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®
Julian's high five tonight is classic. That's all I'm saying. :D
ReplyDeleteYou bet it is Mr. Nichols. By the way you looked in that wetsuit I sure do. Don't go to Spain come to NJ. Wooooooooooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteLots to do getting ready for my business trip so a quick check in. I am so not in the mood for travel. I had OTH on in the background. That was some outfit Austin wore. The gal who did the song at the piano was fantastic. I had never heard her before.
ReplyDeleteThere are also tweets putting Jake on a plane. Not sure which ones to believe, but it did look like a short trip based on his luggage. We'll find out soon enough. He looks good at the event. He smiled more often than he has lately, but he still seems to be over the whole fame thing.
Interesting about the Brokeback history. Loose ends add up sooner or later.

Let's face it, it's unlikely someone would have approached a 16 year straight adolescent.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, you have no idea what you're talking about. You sound as clueless as the JiS crowd who claim the only reason people believe Jake is gay is because of Brokeback, which is nonsense too.
How about those Yankees SK.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, you have no idea what you're talking about. You sound as clueless as the JiS crowd who claim the only reason people believe Jake is gay is because of Brokeback, which is nonsense too.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, you are an idiot. There was no mention, in that statement, that Brokeback Mtn is the reason people think Jake is gay. There's 1000s of reasons and this is just one more example. It's pretty apparent that's what the poster was talking about. Jake's the one who volunteered the information about the subject. Far from being nonsense, it's just one more example about Jake's true orientation. The truth hurts. Particularly, when Jake is the one revealing it.
The truth hurts. Particularly, when Jake is the one revealing it.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Maybe you should spend some time learning how to read instead of foaming at the mouth immediately. What truth? I do believe Jake is gay which is clear from my post. But his being gay has nothing to do with Brokeback and by continuing to connect the two things you only give more ammunition to Adam Levine and others who claim that he is being unfairly targeted because he played Jack Twist. Besides, M&M has absolutely no knowledge of why anyone approached Jake about the role, she's just pretending to be all-knowing in her usual pretentious way and you guys gobble it up as gospel.
I thought the story was that Jake was the one who was doing the approaching and desperately wanted the part of Jack Twist.
ReplyDeleteI thought the story was that Jake was the one who was doing the approaching and desperately wanted the part of Jack Twist.
ReplyDeleteHey, Tom. You know how Jake is. He often misspeaks, catches himself then tries to recover. When Leno asked him about when he had first read the script, Jake said he was told about it [presumably the story, not the script] "when I was 16, and I was like, "Ahhhh, thank you, but no." When Leno asked him if he was imitating Jay (because Jake gave an exaggerated nervous response that sounded a bit like Leno), Jake laughed and said, "That's what happens when your told there's a movie about a gay cowboy out there."
In other words, he admitted someone approached him about Brokeback Mountain at 16 but, of course, he knew how that sounded so he added the weak attempt at humor. Old trolly evidently thinks facts are pretentious.
Later on, when the script actually existed, which it did not in 1997, Jake admitted that he desperately wanted the part of Jack Twist and sought out the role. Of course, that's when he was 22 (not 16) because Variety announced that he and Heath Ledger had been cast for Brokeback Mountain in January 2004.
Thanks for the explanation M and M. There is a huge difference in the way a boy views sexuality at the age of 16yo compared to a 22yo.
ReplyDeleteBut let’s not beat around the bush: Sharon Lawrence as Julian’s (Austin Nichols) mother, and Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) monster-in-law, belongs on this show. And while I hope she still finds time to make incredibly emotional PSAs about saving polar bears, I also hope she sticks around in Tree Hill for a long, long time. On top giving Brooke someone (other than mother) to butt heads with, Sharon’s Sylvia also finally told that fool Chase (Stephen Colletti) what a bad bartender he is: “Oh, God. That’s bad. That is a bad drink. That is just terrible.”
ReplyDeleteHollywood Life
Makes perfect sense how Jake reacted to the question of a Gay Cowboy at 16 compared to the way a 22yo would act with a script in his hands that he may consider the role of a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteHow about those Yankees SK.
ReplyDeleteAll I'm going to say is GOD BLESS TEXAS. : )
Thanks for the movie review NG, and good to see you. From some of the things I have read about the movie, you must have been throwing coats over the kids.
ReplyDeleteGus Van Zant was the first director associated with BBM. He clearly has a thing for pretty young boys, and I think he would have "ruined" BBM if he did it.
I thought OTH was actually entertaining last night. Kudos to Mouth for his script, and Sophia did a good job directing. Even my girlfriend liked parts of it.
In other words, he admitted someone approached him about Brokeback Mountain at 16 but, of course, he knew how that sounded so he added the weak attempt at humor. Old trolly evidently thinks facts are pretentious.
ReplyDeleteLOL. How am I a trolly, M&M? Because I don't buy what you're selling? What "facts" are you speaking of? There are no "facts" as to who, if anyone, "approached" him and WHY they approached him, if they did. According to you he only said that someone told him about the story. There are no "facts" as to why Jake was joking around, that's just your spin. It's hilarious how you try to blame it on how Jake "misspeaks." Your entire posts are nothing but your pretentious spin to make yourself sound like an authority on Jake.
Ted
ReplyDeleteDear Ted:
After hours of thinking, I figured out why people have a problem with your gay Vices. Reading the archives, most of your Vices are not only gay but have multiple partners, "enforcing" the notion that gays cannot have committed relationships. I honestly don't believe this (then again I'm gay...), but there is that stereotype that we just go around and hump anything we want. Well that's mostly for men, but for women like me, we are only "experimenting," such as the case for one of your Vices, but in most instances, we lezzies are actually seeking a relationship. Maybe if you found a Vice who was on the down low, but in a committed relationship with their same sex partner it wouldn't be as bad? I mean Ricky Martin and Neil Patrick Harris can only do so much.

Dear Humping Ph. D:
Men are dogs, gay and straight. I really think that's the taint that's going on here, and not a sexual-orientation one, specifically. Sorry, really do think it's that simple.
