If It was Tuesday it must be ...

...Julian being supportive a LaOD premiere.

Jake and Anne were at the DGA Theater in NYC last night for the NY Premiere of the movie, and Three's Company (for sure with this movie's promotion) .... so Ed joined them again.

Move over Zoolander's "Blue Steel." This is "Little Blue Makes You Hard as Steel Look". Fierce!
(a little thicker chain too)

I know I had a coat that would go perfect with this.

Ed, listen, we know we're all here,
but don't let the cameras seduce you,
you have to keep your clothes on.

While LaOD promotion is running like a pharmaceutical promotion, test groups and free samples (of the movie, not the little blue pill) and Jake really knows how to sell the goods (now talking about little blue pill), it was the pharmaceutical industry that got the real Hollywood treatment.

Monday night's screening

"It’s surreal on so many levels--watching Jake Gyllenhaal as me, respond to being called Jamie, behaving the way I did, having the same conversations I had back in 1997," says Reidy, 40. "I was so distracted by those things, I had to see it again, just to catch everything I missed."

"The book is the jumping off point for the movie, which captures the book’s lighthearted, self-deprecating spirit," Reidy says. "But the slacker stuff is gone, and Jake’s character has more depth than I have. He starts out where I was--selfish--and begins to change after he meets someone he really cares about."

The movie deal was less of a surprise to Reidy. "You already had Viagra. Now just throw in a love interest and that’s a movie."

UPDATE: Jake is included in People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2010
"I think a true leading man has both strength and vulnerability" - Jake

35 comments:

  1. Entering the market during the battle between Pfizer-backed Zoloft and its competitor Prozac, Jamie struggles to find his footing in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. After finding his inner marketing hound, he quickly learns how to bribe and sleep his way to first place. Just as he is about to taste the spoils of success, he falls for 26-year-old Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway), a self-proclaimed "drug slut" who suffers from early onset Parkinson's disease.

Gyllenhaal and Hathaway play the roles of hot and heavy lovers perfectly. Their chemistry is profound and they make their characters as layered and dynamic as characters in a Woody Allen movie. Hathaway's vulnerability, angst and strength propel the story just as much as Gyllenhaal's boyish charm and playfulness.

The core of this film may lay in the depth and complexity of Maggie and Jamie's relationship, but the underlying subtext is the darker side of the pharmaceutical world, and by default, our country's fledgling health care system. Maggie's dependency on prescription drugs speaks volumes about the emotional and financial hold pharmaceutical companies have on people in this country.

  3. Jake's suit is nice, but yikes, Anne's dress is hideous. I usually like what she wears.

  4. So at last night's premiere, Oliver Platt was there as well. The after party was at Rouge Tomate, who "balanced cuisine, well-being, and social and environmental consciousness". Sounds like a Jake kind of place.

Not the biggest fan of this dress that much either. Not sure if it's the shape, the bow or the fringe that is not working for me.

Jake in a warm chocolate brown suit is a very good thing. The suit has a great cut for him. He really looked good last night.

Anne is doing rehearsals for SNL in addition to all the press for LaOD this week. Still wonder if Jake might pop in in even a digital short for the show.

Jake and Dave have had some great interviews, who can forget Gooberballs. You think Jake will do drunk lady again? Or just lady voices?

  5. Interesting this morning that Ted mention Taylor as a mini Reese. Wow that is saying something and more than just saying another beard.

  6. Jake really does look cute. I love seeing him in an open button dress shirt and jacket.. The scarf stuff just doesn't work for me.

Ryan Reynolds is cute but not the sexiest man alive for sure. Sorry my pick this year would have been James Franco.

  7. Does anyone have the feeling that Jake and Taylor are going to have a big coming out scene ala reeke after LAOD premiere week is over?
God I hope not. I so don't want him to beard anymore. Rumors and apple picking with ur liitle sister is ok but I hate to see him make a fool of himself again.

  9. Jake's Interview with Ben Lyons
    (Whole Interview)

    And it's alot of fun.

E!Online Jake Interview with Ben Lyons

Jake said he did not attend the Potter premiere in London.

Talks about love in your twenties.

Advice for taking it all off on screen -- Balls Up.

Shout out to Maggie for her birthday

    And takes over the mike.

  10. Must say that People photo of Jake is one of his best yet. I am not crazy about Ryan Reynolds. Too mainstream looking for my taste, but whatever. At least Jake was in the mix. His bearding (the real beard, not the women) may have cost him a higher spot as he looked pretty unsexy during that time. Do we know how the selection is made. Editor pick or a popular vote?

Eon line has the interview of Jake by Ben Lyons posted on their site. Is he gay? He and Jake had some major vibes going. Smiles, smiles, smiles. And Jake was very relaxed and flirty with him. Ben's reputation as a critic is not that good, so I don't see Jake sucking up to him for that reason. More like there is some sexual attraction at root.

Woooohoooo! Shouldn't you give a pulse rating or something before you link people to pics like these, Special? Oh my. My, my, my. Jake looks exquisite. I have to say it was very interesting how Jake made sure to set the record straight that he was not at the Harry Potter premiere in London on November 11th. Maybe trying to let us know that all this Swyll nonsense is not coming from his PR camp and he was nowhere near England this past weekend? Most importantly, Jake looks utterly, massively (profoundly) happy in this Lyons' interview and Austin appears to be looking forward to...let's just say the upcoming holiday celebration. A celebration that represents family and thankfulness and what it means to understand the true meaning of what's real.

  15. It does make you wonder why Jake was so adamant on saying he did not attend the premiere. What would be so wrong about going to see the movie? Or is it to say he was not even in London at that point?

E! called it the best Jake interview ever and have to say - it is one of the best.

Something or should we say someone has gotten his confidence sky high and his grin a mile wide. Would wager to bet it's about some Texas Hold'em.

That's nice, but, I think I'm more interested in Jake emphatically setting the record "straight" that he was NOT at that Harry Potter premiere last Thursday. Very interesting, indeed.

  17. What Jake didn't get a chance to say in that interview was that yes he was in London on 11/11, he was at a screening earlier and he and Annie attended another screening and Q&A that evening at the same theater that HP had their premiere, that's why they both went through the back entrance, there are pics if them going.

The Paps just thought that they were attending the premeire and were trying to sneak in.

We won't see any of their UK stuff untill its released over there in december.

So no, it's not the person with breasts and a vagina PR team spreading Swil, it's lazy "journalists".

Huh? What a ridiculous attempt at clean up. Oh, Jake not only had plenty of chances to "correct" the record but he actually volunteered the information that he was not at the premiere and never mentioned other "screenings". Not once. Even though he easily could have. In other words, Jake wanted to make sure that everyone knew he was not at that premiere for a reason.

The Paps just thought that they were attending the premeire and were trying to sneak in.

Funny, how suddenly we are hearing your "detailed" account which no doubt will suddenly appear on some "official" site or social networking medium soon. Or, maybe it might be backdated to give the impression that the "truth" was there all along, but everyone just missed it. Another quick fix, alternative universe that appears only after someone points out Jake's obvious distancing from the HP premiere. Hmmm. I smell something, and it ain't pretty. Although, the technique is very predictable.

  23. Uh-oh, misspellings and vulgar accusations. I wonder who that could be?

Jake didn't bother to explain further because Lyons is a major geek....

Gee, that's a really persuasive argument. Let me rethink my analysis for a moment. Hmmmm. Interesting rant. But, you know, now that I've had some extra time to rethink my point of view, I think I stay with my original observation. Thanks for the fantastical possibility, though. I truly had fun imagining the scenario. Would make a great fanfic.

  24. you are sounding more and more like a teabagger!November 18, 2010 at 12:09 AM

Did you even bother to read the link posted "M&M/SK"? It blows your paranoid tinhat theory out the water, he was in London on the evening of the 11th, who knows why Jake didn't explain further, the point is he was there along with Anne, their Q&A will be released in Dec. as it states on that site.

Jake and Anne did a press junket that day, Kate from WDW was there, so he was in London on the 11th, HA!

There was no sightings of him on Friday or Saturday but he arrived in NY at JFK on Sunday the 14th or I guess in your paranoid mind, those evil fangirls on IHJ changed the dates on those pics and he really arrived in NY on Friday!

  25. Edited post for 11:37

    lazy said...

Here ya go M&M and no it wasn't post-dated, I found it when it was originally posted, on the 12th along with some others.

As you can read, this person was at the screening and Q&A on the evening of the 11th in London, the screening was at a theater next to the premeire.

IMO Jake didn't bother to explain further because Lyons is a major geek and would find any excuse to talk about HP and Jake knows it so he didn't go into it further, that's all he need is for the interview be about HP, you know that Lyons probably doesn't give 2 shits about LAOD.

  26. It's a running theme on OMG that when they are given proof that contradicts their well thought out rumination on conspiracies and cover ups they either go into attack mode (see: M&M) or they completely gloss over it (see: SpecialK). Shame they can't be mature enough and say "I made a mistake. Thank you for taking the time to correct that for me."

  27. Harry Potter is trending off the charts with 26 million in presold tickets. They are adding theaters and show times to meet the demand. Jake does not want to mention Potter since his film will be in competition with LAOD. They do not open the same day, but there will be carryover demand for Potter.

  33. Jake and Anne had a interview on the Today show this morning, was trying to post when I saw it happening, but of course the computer crashes and it to 20 minutes to get back and get to the blog. (BTW have I said how much I hate this computer)

Great interview Meredith slipped and called them both actresses, which prompt Anne to say "Scratch an actor, find an actress" which made Jake say Whaaaaaaa?

But it was a good morning for Jake to be there. There were puppies and Martha Stewart, and if you remember when Maggie was on her show, Maggie told Martha about how Jake would love cooking with Martha.

Jake is now on with with Regis and Kelly! And he's on with with Anderson Cooper and quarterback Mark Sanchez.
