Wow, great theatrical poster for Source Code! A lot of mystery in it. I knew something about it looked familiar for some reason, I was going to say the poster for "The American", but you got it Special. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't say that I am a fan of that poster. Jake is barely visible and the stance looks off.
ReplyDeleteFrom Ted today. "Dear Ted:
I am sure nothing shocks you since you have seen or heard it all in this town of freaks, but can you tell me, in this last year has there been one Blind Vicer with behavior so shocking or bad that it has caused a physical or emotional reaction for you? Tell me who--I want to know if mine is the same:) XOXO
—Bie
Dear Shocked:
Like, all of the above Blind Vicers, obviously. There is, however, a special hole in my heart that dies over and over again every time Toothy decided to make a dumb-ass decision." I am sure that Ted's sentiment is shared by many of us. This is also confirmation that Ted admires Jake and wishes the best for him despite the snarkiness he sometimes throws at Toothy.
Interesting comment DL about gay rights and race. I'm not sure I entirely buy it though.
ReplyDeleteI do think it is somewhat true of the organization of a lot of the high-profile gay rights organizations and fundraisers.
In a society that unfortunately tends to elevate white rich men to the top power spot, being accepted as part of that group is, in it's own way, progress. I do think it is unfortunate when members of an oppressed group turn around and do the same to others. And don't even get me started on the Log Cabin types.
There is plenty of progress among other groups. There was just a story in the New York Times last week stating that Jacksonville Florida has the highest number of gay couples with children of any area in the country. Most of these couples and their children are black (and most of the children come from heterosexual relationships). It talked about all the black churches that have sprung up that welcome these families.
One more thing, most of those couples were lesbian couples. It doesn't help that so many black men are on the down low.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the cover, although got to wonder about the decision to not make Jake so prominent. There is a comment posted on wft2 from a movie blog that doesn't have very good things to say about Jake and why they seem to be kind of hiding who it is in the poster.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear about Jacksonville, FL, Destiny.
ReplyDeleteI'm not wild about the movie poster but then those movies are not my kind of movies. Don't like action films!!! lol
I've never seen that Cary Grant movie - don't like covering my eyes and crouching down in my seat kind of stuff. At all. Nope.
What is this Jake "reformed womanizer" bonus feature? Good grief, what didn't we hear about Jake & Anne during their entire press junket for that movie? Enough already.
I will say this though. Is there any actor in HW who has a better chest than Jake? Best chest and legs in the business. Hands down.
LOL - that last bit sounded like I was ordering from the Colonel or something. LOLLLLL!!!
Church's Fried Chicken, anyone?
Popeye's?
Or how about Stroud's? Eh, Special???? You know about that place, don't you?
Come on, people! Where do you go for great fried chicken? And I'm talking crispy. Crispy fried chicken!!
Legs, Wings and Thighs!!! That is what this Kansas girl is talking about!!
can you tell it's getting close to dinner time? LOLLL!!
Oh man, Popeye's cajun mashed potatoes.
ReplyDeleteStroud's cinnamon rolls and green beans.
I've yet to really find a place that has good, really good mashed potatoes. Lumps included. Gotta have the lumps. And I don't mind some potato skin in there either. And garlic.
Nobody really has any good, good mashed taters. **sigh**.
My dad used to grill some of THE best chicken outside. He had this hibachi (an egg) thing my uncle brought over from Korea. That thing cooked the best chicken.
Then after he passed away, my mom gave it away to a guy before asking my brother and I swear, my brother was just sick. He about keeled over, lol. Don't know how he thought he was going to get it home, though. I don't know what it was about that hibachi egg thing but it grilled chicken unlike any charcoal or gas grill.
Isn't it funny how everyone has their favorite piece of the chicken, too? Why is that, I wonder.
What does this have to do with anything? What started this. Jake! It's his fault. lol

I am really interested in seeing what Jake and Duncan do with Source Code. I think there is a lot of potential for success. I like the influence that Duncan has mention for the movie, and am really interested in how they play into his vision.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of influences, I'm getting more excited about what Austin is going to put together as a director. Have a feeling it will be a Easter Egg hunt from little golden eggs from the Goose.

ReplyDeleteOh my God the snow keeps coming and coming and coming. I cannot take it. Yep you were right PG buddy. I was out early and a 1hr and 15 min ride turned into a 2 hr an 45 min ride. Of course the ride home was even worse. But now for the good news. I am off tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the poster. It is my kind of movie. If it at least gets decent reviews I may see it unless Jake is doing something totally dumb ass like Ted says.
Oh man, I'm sorry to hear, Tom!!! No mas to snow!
ReplyDeleteThis morning at work when I arrived, there was a big 53' backing in to Door #1 and blocking a possible dry pavement path into my door to work. You have melting during the day and then it refreezes so I was looking ahead at nothing but shining cement - ICE.
And do you know the driver who just finished backing into Door #1 got out and offered me the crook of his arm (a Jake photo op move! lol) and walked me to the door because of my boot.
Preview of senior citizen days, LOL!
Wasn't that nice? That was sooooo nice - I couldn't believe it.
Tom - I feel for you, buddy!
I've never seen that Cary Grant movie - don't like covering my eyes and crouching down in my seat kind of stuff. At all. Nope.
ReplyDeleteI don't like those kind of movies either, PG, but North by Northwest isn't really like that. It's SO good. And Cary Grant is SO hot. Not as hot as Montgomery Clift, but super hot, nonetheless.
I know this is heresy, but I've never been a big fan of Hitchcock.
ReplyDeleteTired of the snow too Tom. It's been a bad winter for walking.
totally OT, Just watched this week's episode of White Collar. Oh my, Bomer was soooo gorgeous, and great episdoe. Shirtless, tasteful sex scenes and chemistry for days with his female co-stars, and in a cop's uniform to boot. Oh, and all those scenes drinking with Tim Dekay on the dark balcony of his apartment, also full of chemistry. Sigh, everything I could want.......
Just saw Jake Gyllenhaal at the Sundance Film Festival! about 3 hours ago via Twitter for Android from Park City, UT

A source told People that Reese is “truly enjoying her life right now.”
ReplyDeleteHer fiance Jim Toth is “a grown-up who’s really ready to take the next step. He’s a family-oriented guy, and that’s all she ever wanted,” the source added. The friend also said that Jim loves making Reese laugh!
from Just Jared.
There's a word for women like Ice Maiden. Guess which one it is. Just guess.
She is a joke.
Reese, Jake's more of a family man than you have ever or will know.
Amazing how she just keeps jabbing and jabbing and jabbing.
ReplyDeleteTalk about having no life. She has none if she just keeps jabbing at Jake that way.
Something tells me she's the one bent out of shape over the partnership with Austin and the family that Jake has. Otherwise she'd be able to let go, move on and leave him be.
There is absolutely no earthly reason for her to focus on bashing Jake when she should be excited about her own.
None.
Jake's people are still trying to figure out how to cover that second day he was supposed to be in Nashville, roaming around alone. They're so desperate they even placed Swifty at home that second night when she already was long gone. Now, why would Jake have a hotel room and stay at Tay Tay's on the second night when she wasn't even there! How lame is this?
ReplyDeleteIn Touch Magazine:
Jake Gyllenhaal flew to Nashville to beg for Taylor Swift's forgiveness, and when his connecting flight was delayed, he rented a car and drove 200 miles so as not to stand her up. They went to dinner, and even though he had a hotel, he spent two nights with Taylor in her apartment. Break-up sex?!
What BS. It is truly digusting.
ReplyDeleteHoly smoke 19 inches of snow. More to come tomorrow and Saturday. We have already set a record for the month of January in Philly.
They're so desperate they even placed Swifty at home that second night when she already was long gone.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know she was "long gone"?

And no pictures from the big extended rendezvous? I do not see that being possible. At all.
