Twist Off

Scott, he had previously done this with as a 2 and 1/2 and but this time he's doing it with a Twist. Let's see what happens.

That's right Dick, the Twist makes all the difference. This is going to be something totally different.

We are looking a degree of difficulty of 5.8

What Would Brian Boitano Do? Brian?

Well I would go for it.

Here they go! It's all about their form, keeping their edges and sticking the landing.

AND HE DOESSSSSSSS!!!!

Unbelievable!!!!!! With the Twist he goes for it! A quad! Who would have thought it was possible.

I did.

You always do Dick.

I'd say you just saw your first Texas Twister.

What a performance, what you have seen here is history in the making. The sheer stamina! The lifts! And the counterclockwise spin at the end.

This is what is called a real partnership. You don't get this very often, this is a one in a million.

Blades of Glory
doesn't even come close. Chazz Michael Michaels/Jimmy MacElroy pack your bags and go home.

There is only one word for what we've seen today, Scott.

AMAZING!!!!

Happy Austin Friday!

Moo is in need of the "smack down" IMHO

  13. LOL Tom.

And LOL--and I guess it's progress in it's own way:

"Jesse (Tyler Ferguson) and Justin were inseparable all night," an onlooker told Us Weekly. "Every time [Justin] looked at Jesse, he seemed to melt." Us reported that Justin plans to attend the SAG Awards Sunday night as Jesse's date.

  15. This is one of those freaky kind of things you get in an email at work:

This year we will experience 4 unusual dates.... 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 .... NOW figure this out.... take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year and it WILL EQUAL TO 111. This won't ever happen again in your lifetime...

  16. Somebody shared this video clip with me and if you have a couple of minutes, you might want to check it out and see if you've seen it before.

This is an interview Jake did for TDAT in a BIG COAT. It must have been cold because you can see his breath and there's something in his hair (LOL!!! What is that white thing in his hair?! lol) snow? What is that?

He is so young here. And he's totally natural, funny, animated, undeniably sexy, very clear in how he talks, no runaround, no dead-ends, no U-turns, no roundabouts. This thing is CUTE!!!!

This is the Jake that brought a lot of people to these blogs. This is the Jake that I bet is still there; we just don't get to see him anymore.

This guy knocked it out of the ballpark and would still leave so many of today's young male stars in the dust. There just isn't anyone like Jake was back in this day. Courtesy of the walking File Cabinet & Vault, M&M.

I'd never seen this but then I've never seen a lot of his Day After Tomorrow stuff. Man, check this out and check out his "Yeah, yeah" at 01:44. What a crack up.

    Remember this guy?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hey PG, thanks for sharing that one with us and for M&M providing the archival linkages. I hadn't seen that either, and it demonstrates very clearly the way Jake used to speak about his projects and how he used to illucidate on his movies and what they meant to him.

A great find and well enjoyed.

  18. PG, thanks for posting that clip. What a difference between Jake then and Jake now. It almost makes you wonder if he is suffering from some illness now. His thoughts are so unfocused and all over the place lately. Yes it could be evasiveness - he did not even want to pick a side at a ball game for fear of offending fans, but I am starting to wonder. The stress he was under while bearding with Reese really did a number on him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi Seaweed!!! Cool that you had not seen it either. There's so much I haven't seen - don't have a lot of patience for videos. Short attention span, lol. I'm glad you liked it - thanks to M&M!!!

Hi m!! I feel like we're always ships passing in the night, m. lol. You know, I think Jake is fine. I think he's good. Think he's clear headed - just think he's very involved in his own personal life now.

Seems like somebody on WFT2 put it very well in a comment not too long ago and nailed it. The thing is, Jake is so deep in the closet and his life has changed so much in just a matter of about 3 years, that all which is relevant in his life right now (the kids and Austin) he cannot talk about it.

He can't talk about what he normally would be bubbling up about. So he has to talk about an extended family - M&P's. He has to look like he has hardly no friends, i.e. dining alone.

Jake Gyllenhaal? Dining alone in Nashville? Please.

Traveling can be tiring. Lying can be very tiring - it's energy draining.

But actively raising a family, let's see, BT1 would be 3 now and BT2 would be 2. I know some don't believe there's a second one, but I firmly believe there is. That would be 2 little ones who are walking and one either still in Pampers or time to toilet train. Jake doesn't strike me as someone who's going to leave something like toilet training to the nannies. He's a hands on kind of guy; if he loves to cook so much, if he has talked so much about wanting a family (something a lot of guys just don't go on about like he has), loves to raise his own produce so he can use it in his cooking, this is someone who is hands on. Likes to get their fingers in the dirt.

He's going to want to do it all. Feed. Change. Read to. Play with. Toilet train.

  20. And with Austin working right now, this is one of those times the two guys just aren't together which is probably why they hooked up in NC last week.

That's why it's going to be interesting once OTH is done. After Source Code is out, who knows if we'll even see Jake much? Don't know. But right now, it seems like Jake is not working on purpose. Austin is the one working right now.

I think Jake is primarily handling the kids right now while Daddy-O is working. Not to say Austin couldn't have had them maybe while Jake had to do the Golden Globes thing. I don't know, though, because Jake disappeared pretty much even during that week so he could have had them. Or as someone else brainstormed to me, maybe the NC thing last week was about a kiddie "hand-off", heck maybe even Austin could've had or has them. Now there's something to envision. LOLLLL!! Austin burning up the cell phone line with 1001 questions for Jake. What do I do now? How do you do this?

I believe that Jake is the one right now sacrificing his career. He's intentionally not working. Because you know he could get work if he really wanted - even if it was a really crappy or cheesy film. Or a low budget indie film. But he's not working. Why?

Jake is taking it on the chin in the tabloids in order to have these kids. Why would any man put up with the trash that is being put on the likes of In Touch Weekly and US Weekly?

And yeah, he's done his fair share of contributing to some of the tabloid mess. But I think that Tay thing last week was also a good cover so that he could have family time in NC. Unfortunately, a by-product is you get all of that tabloid crap.

Someday, this stuff will all get revealed. Perhaps that was what Austin was referring to in that Larry King tweet he did that Tom mentioned the other day. Because what an incredible story it is. It is worthy of a movie.

I say all of this because I think Jake is getting mud flung at him for a reason that is not true. And he's just taking it. He's the one sacrificing so he can have his family. He's the one sacrificing so that Austin can work right now. And I think that is about as selfless as you can get.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sorry PG, I see things very differently. I don't think hiding your own child or going through contorted motions to spend a day with your partner because you want to stay deep in the closet from some perceived harm to your career is selfless. I think it is the action of a very selfish, immature, insecure, ego-driven I want everyone to love me and think I'm great and I want to be on the A-list star young man.

Jake doesn't need to go through all that tabloid shit if he wants to travel somewhere. After all, how many sightings do we have him in NC, or with Austin? Zero. I'm not convinced he was there, but if he was, nobody saw him.

Meanwhile things are really changing. Do you know how revolutionary it is to read about an actor "melting" over his new boyfriend in a mainstream tabloid? Wasn't it not too long ago we were all lead to believe that women would be turned off hearing about things like that?

  23. You believe what you need to, Destiny.

I stand by what I say. It's what I believe.

I get mad at things he does but I will not beat him down to a pulp like what he's getting right now. He's still a guy with feelings. And I believe he loves his kids and he would do anything for them.

No, what he's doing right now is not good for the gay community or for the hetero for that matter. Not good for his or Austin’s mental health or physical health. But I don't know what those guys have planned for the next 3 months. Not even today. So I'm waiting. I'm not throwing in the towel on him.

    He's not a bad person.

  24. I’m glad folks enjoyed the TDAT video. Articulate, thoughtful and refreshingly honest, Jake has a confident enthusiasm about his craft, and an unembellished excitement about being in his first action film. “We have the opportunity to create hope and destroy it.” That approach to life says a lot about Jake. He knows contentment is not merely about ability or circumstance, but about seizing opportunities. At 23, that’s a pretty darn impressive orientation toward the world. We may not see that Jake much anymore as he continues to hide his true self, while his real views and heart are often edited for public consumption---some significant and scattered elements of truth slipping through now and then thanks to Jake’s ingenuity and rebelliousness. But, I have no doubt that the Jake Gyllenhaal in that video is still there. More than likely, deeper and more interesting than ever before given the personal and intimate opportunities he has refused to missed or deny himself. I agree PG, Jake can work if he wants. He’s choosing to live his actual life quietly, instead. And, that life has no place for old Tay Tay.

As I’ve said before, why Jake continues to go through contorted gyrations and allow his name and image to be preposterously splashed across supermarket tabloids, may still have something to do with contractual commitments that he cannot extricate himself from… yet. Remember, Ted still expresses a visceral anger towards Reesey-poo and has even hinted that her ghost continues to haunt Jake. Somehow, I don’t think it was a coincidence that Reeke was unveiled on October 23, 2007 in Rome (the day Jake officially slipped into that closet and slammed the door shut), and the roll out of Swyll on October 23, 2010. Until that SNL “sighting,” Jake was unattached, for the most part, from December 2009-October 23, 2010. Yes, there were a few lame attempts to place him with Olivia Munn, Isabel "Who?", Rachel Bilson, et al., but you could tell the PR efforts were not seriously pursued. Then Jake disappeared for the summer. Not concerned one bit by the lack of publicity or having his name in the news. If Jake is playing a waiting game, I have the stamina and affection for him and Austin to wait right along with them.

Maybe, it’s just stupid ass hope, but recent interviews and tweets have suggested that these two guys might be transitioning to reinvent their careers in a way that will stop all this nonsense. Jake has destroyed a lot of good will in the course of his actions these past 3 years, but as he informed us in that video, he also knows he has the ability to recreate a positive and supportive vibe once again. Here’s hoping he and Austin can find a healthier way to face the world, in the future. For their sakes and for ours, because I believe that Jake and Austin have a lot to offer beyond just their tight-knit closed circle of family and friends.

  25. I say all of this because I think Jake is getting mud flung at him for a reason that is not true. And he's just taking it.

It was his choice to beard. He did it for PR reasons (eg phoney US Fakely pics), and to project a hetero/macho image. Just because the reaction was bad, doesn't mean he is "sacrificing". It's the result of a silly, short-sighted decision to enter into that fauxmance.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hey, I'm not disagreeing that the bearding is wrong.

Yup, and I agree that he made his choices. He's certainly reaping the "benefits" of it, too.

The difference is the reason why I believe he did it.

I don't think he did it for "publicity" or his career.

He did it so he could have his kids.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I know that's a volatile statement. And alot of people don't believe it. In fact, I'd be willing to bet I'm in a tiny corner with few supporters.

    **tiny lol**

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks PG for the video. And I agree that part we see in that interview is intrinsically Jake. We see small glimmers still, but think we will see more and more of that come back.

I agree that Jake has shifted focus in his life. He's even talked about acting not being everything in his life. This is more than just acting. And from all the interviews and even co-stars it's all about family.

Again Jake and Austin seem to switch off when one works and one's not. Jake is not working by choice. It is also interesting that he brought the Source Code project to Duncan. While he has opportunities to work (he is a lot of short lists for casting agents and directors) he is creating his own projects with people, going after parts even cutting his own price. That's not because he can't get work but he is wanting work that works within his life now.

Austin has the opportunity for steady work and Jake is working with that, living on the East Coast as much possible for the family to be close. The schedule of their project etc.

That's not to say Austin is all about business. Just because he doesn't talk about it, doesn't mean he is closely involved. With a large ensemble cast he doesn't have to film everyday, and with family on the east coast and easy trip to spend days off middle of the week all together.

I can see Jake doing anything for sake of Austin and his children.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I see no evidence of any transitioning by Jake and Austin.

Jake isn't working because he isn't getting any offers. When was the last time his name was even mentioned as being considered for a role?

And all over the internet movie bloggers are making fun of the SC poster and marketing campaign and it's need to hide the fact Jake is in it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well, I certainly am not saying his career is going peachy-keen right now. In fact, I think him taking the role of Jamie in LAOD was all about pushing a straight image for Jake. For that reason, I can't stand what that movie stands for.

Doesn't stop me from loving the screencaps, though.

LOLLLLL!!! Shallow PG. Nothing wrong with a little nekky jakey.

Hey, gotta keep some humor in this, you know.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't know about Source Code.

I know that PoP should've been better than it was. It could've been better. Script isn't Jake's fault. The inferior fighting sequences aren't Jake's fault. The decision to grease down Jake's hair and not flash more chest wasn't Jake's fault.

I don't know about Rendition either. I never have seen that one - I don't need to hear Ice Maiden screeching. I still say war themes are a kiss of death if you want to make big $$.

I think Jake could be limited in his choices due to where the films are shooting. Who is directing. Who he'd be acting with. And that would be because of his private life and that he chooses to hide it.

Movie careers I can't inject much on because I just am not into that part of it. You guys are a whole lot smarter on that kind of thing than I am.

  32. Man alive, I finally, finally have found Ennis' guest bedroom. That took all morning. I've seen more guest bedrooms than you can shake a stick at.

Now I can continue writing. LOL.

    Geez.

  33. I don't think Jake has done much that is shortsighted or frivolously conceived, over these past three years. More like goal-oriented, purposeful and utterly irrevocably (i.e. Babies Tile). He and Austin wanted to have a family together away from the prying eyes of the public. Granted their decision-making was clouded by career, the desire for privacy, and a coercive power structure in Hollywood. At only 26, neither man perhaps quite comprehending the slippery slope existence that bearding engenders. One lie begets another one and cause and effect quickly morph into a chaotic jumble of unintended consequences. All things change eventually, though. And, these guys seem pretty creative and resilient to me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nothing wrong with a little nekky jakey.

Couldn't agree with you more, PG.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ha, we're not the only ones enjoying nekky jakey screencaps.

I was looking through Twitter last night and man alive, you should see all the people (I think overseas) who are seeing LAOD and going nuts over the er...more aesthetic aspects of the film.
