Close enough for government work.....

As we celebrate President's Day here in the US, thought about all the ways Jake's government connections and patriotism on screen.

October Sky - National Science Winner and future NASA employee

Moonlight Mile - Lending a helping hand at the Post Office

TDAT - Inspirational story for Presidential speech

Jarhead - Marine

Brokeback - Sheepherder - Forestry Service

Rendition - CIA Analyst

Source Code - Soldier/Experimental Government Program

And of course Bubble Boy.

Bubble Boy?!?!?!? How?

  1. A Retweet going around in Twitter:

RT @CnservativePunk Who is your favorite Disney Princess? Mine is Jake Gyllenhaal.

  2. Mayfield Park

Curious that of all the pictures Austin could post to place him in his hometown, he chooses the Historic Mayfield Park which is rented for small/medium sized events such as social gatherings, business conferences, workshops and retreats. It is not recommended for theater events, large concerts, or events that require temporary installation of hardware and structures within the gardens and cottage.

What did Austin do? When he was asked by PR to post something that would suggest he was in Austin Texas, he puts up a picture postcard of a peacock. Man, he’s almost as lazy as his good lookin’ boyfriend.

Ha! That's hilarious, PG. Given Austin's pic today, maybe Jake is actually a peahen.

  4. Jake has said that some people "call me a princess".

Interesting that Austin also picks a bird for a picture don't think he's advertising for NBC.

  5. Great investigation work, M&M. Yes, I googled that park and that is exactly that shelter house at the Mayfield Park in Austin TX.

    Pretty bird, pretty bird!

Yes, I do think it was clever that Grey Goose picked a peacock for his post. Pretty bird, indeed!

  7. Doesn't Jake wear lots of clothing with bird logos on them. Seen in many earlier photos.

  8. Speaking of princesses, have you all seen the funnyordie spoof Swyllenhaal break-up song?

  9. Hey Charybdis good to see you. Yeah I saw it. What did you think?

  10. Hey there Special. Well, on the one hand I thought it was hilarious -- whoever wrote and directed this is pretty smart (and has followed the fauxmance enough to make fun of coffee dates and so on). And it's a reminder that it's not just a few tiny corners of the internet where they think Jake was bearding. On the other hand, it's sort of sad that Jake's bearding has gone so badly that it makes an easy joke.

  11. Yeah they seemed to get most the details into the song, so someone did their homework. And yes it does really show that "it's not just a few tiny corners of the internet where they think Jake was bearding".

  12. Hi charybdis!!

Wonderful to see you! Thanks for the videolink - I'll have to check that out.
Well said on your comment. It is funny but it's too bad that Jake's public life has become cartoonish.
