Triple A

Congrats to Austin who is not only an international ambassador for Just a Drop , an organization combating child mortality by providing clean safe drinking water but he's also been named Grand Marshal for the 11th Annual Los Angeles River Ride.

TwoWheel Tuesday is going to be a “Two Wheel Sunday” June 5th, starting and finish at Griffith Park.

Austin's familiar with the area.

Over 2,000 riders will participate in the 11th annual Los Angeles River Ride in several different rides: A Century (100 miles), 70 Miles, Half Century(50 miles) 36 Miles, Family (15 miles) rides; as well as a kids ride and safety rodeo.

You think being Grand Marshall would get him some nifty streamers on his bike handles, but it will be more like him getting a new bike jersey.

Think he can get an extra to take home for someone who rides too?

For a guy who wears a blazer to bike in, maybe he can talk him into something extra for this ride, a bell for ? Grand Marshall sash? Cool helmet cover, maybe the Jive Turkey ?

Just a word of advice Mr. Nichols. Don't get distracted doing the elbow elbow wrist wrist (or wash the window, wash the windows touch the pearls) wave to the crowd and take a tumble off the bike. This is a two hand operation.

.....

A little Tree as we get ready for Austin's directorial debut, courtesy of an interview with EW.com

What did Austin have the most fun with when directing?
“I can’t tell you much about that adoption and that new baby, but it was one of the most important things in my episode that I directed and [what] I had the most fun with,” he says. “You know, I got to cast a ton of babies. We had to have twins, because some babies can only work for a short period of time. So I got to go in a room with all these babies and look at all these cute babies and go, Yes, I want that baby, I want that baby [laughs]. It gets complicated when you’re casting babies. I think at one time we had triplets. We’ve had rubber babies and all this stuff, and it’s been interesting.” Check out the rest at EW.com

For most guys a room full of babies would send them running faster than all get-out right out the door.

  6. Oooh, great avatar, Tom. That's gorgeous.

Boy, as I get over run and inundated with posts and reports of ol' Reesey-poo everywhere doing everything with everyone everyday, one can sure tell she has a movie coming up. I hope our little Soapy rah-rah fan will be relieved that right now I focus on an 'ex of Jake's. Why?

    1) The commencing of the ol' Cockroachella. Ahhh, it just gets ya all sentimental and gooey inside, doesn't it? I know it does me. All the celeb sightings so far, it just makes you recall that wonderful weekend a couple of years ago. I don't know about you, but I get a sudden urge to pick my pants just thinking about it. Kind of a little Saluuuuuute!, a little Carol Burnett tug-on-the-ear kind of shout-out, except in this case, this Jake case, it's a little tug on those ol' underpants.

c'mon everybody! You know you want to do it. Let's raise the hand, I mean the glass, and toast that fond memory...

  7. LOLLLLL!!!! snicker. Oh man.

And 2) Ted's BB this morning about Robsten and Reese brought up something that I had already been pondering. And that is that Water for Elephants is going to be having a red carpet premiere in NYC and everyone is wondering if Kristen Stewart is going to show up to walk with Rob. You know, true OMG'ers and WFT2'ers know exactly where I'm going with this one.

Can you see/hear it? The flashing, blinding camerabulbs! The shouting! Thrusting papers and pens! Flapping arms!! "Robert!! Kirsten!! Robsten! Robert! Kirsten! Robsten! Over here!"

Oh man. I look forward to finding out if Kirsten goes. That's the bitchy woman in me, I suppose. And Ted sounded like he had some bitchy woman running through his veins too when he said he couldn't wait to see if Kirsten shows up. lol!

And look at this great quote from Reesey on filming an "intimate" scene with Robert:

“He had a very runny nose. It wasn’t appealing. It wasn’t pleasant,” Reese said.

Yeah, thanks, Reese!! Love you, too.

  8. Congratulations to Austin on being named a Grand Marshall. That's cool.

I was wondering out loud to someone if he would be riding in an open convertible for the event and it was gently pointed out to me that well, since this was a biking event, probably not. LOLLLL!!

Isn't that embarrassing. Brain mis-fire!! lol.

It's pretty cool to be named a Grand Marshall of a parade. I love that helmet hair, Special, don't know where you found that pic but that is awesome.

  10. It's great to see all the different ways Austin (and Jake)help to raise awareness about the causes they care about.

There are a lot of cool helmet covers out there. But somehow I could see Austin rocking the hair on a ride.

Did anyone else find it interesting what Austin had the most fun with when he was directing?

The old adage never work with kids or animals must not apply to him. Because it's not easy to work with babies, let alone the first time directing. That's kind of crazy if you don't know what you are in for.

It sounds like all those things babies do, crying, fussing, etc didn't phase him in the least.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Cool that Austin will be Grand Marshal. I bet he is very excited. Almost as good a job as being a director.

Funny the things you miss - Jake whispering so the wolves don't hear. I have not watched that movie in a long time and don't plan to, but if I see its on TV I'll try to watch that part.

  12. Source Code has staying power. Despite the two big releases this weekend (Rio and Scream 4) Source Code is predicted to slip only one spot from 7 to 8 in the Top Ten in the box office.

Domestic Total as of yesterday: $32,520,000(Estimate)

    Foreign Box Office: $13,242,777

for an estimated Worldwide Box office total: $45,762,777

  13. An interesting interview with Duncan Jones that reveals the pivotal decision-making/creative role Jake played in bringing Source Code to the screen.

    Jake the Executive Producer

    ReplyDelete
  14. It does seem like Jake was acting like a executive producer for Source Code without the official title. It was definitely more than just having the say on the who was going to direct. Source Code was floated around as the best screenplay not produced for a few years, but now you wonder, because it seems like Jake was attached to it just as long. Kind of like a movie in his pocket he could pull out when he was ready and knew what he wanted for it.

Savannah is a wild place but doubtful the band would getting off the stage at 6am on a Sunday morning and not just any Sunday morning - Palm Sunday morning. It's still is a Southern city with Southern ways.

Now if he tweeted from the West Coast it would have been after 3am which you could see since it's just after last call or an after hours or even after festival.

And also saying he's not in the band, could have a double meaning. Not in the band = not there.

And it could also mean he was out to seeing a band which would work with the West Coast timeline, and what a band says at the end of their set.

This is terrible what happened yesterday in the southeast. Poor North Carolina. They were hit hard and had multiple deaths - I read nine on cnn.com but I guess it's still unclear. That is terrible. Heck, even in Kansas you don't normally see that many deaths from tornados and tornadic activity. Those were probably the same warm and cold fronts that went through here a couple of nights ago.

I wonder if they have basements in North Carolina? I know Oklahoma doesn't but I'm just wondering why the number of so many fatalities. Maybe flash flooding was an issue; several people were swept away it was reported.

About a week ago, we had this big hail storm go through and where I live, we lucked out. It was only pea sized. But I heard of golfball size hail not too far from here and an acquaintance had 2 cars damaged, one of them totaled.

And he had on his deck, one of those Rubbermaid type containers that you put your chaise lounge cushions in? And I guess it blew holes into that. Do you know how darn hard those things are? They're not just like a cheap plastic watering can. That is hard, thick plastic. So can you imagine the force of that hail to be able to do that? I've been outside in downpours and sometimes rain comes down so hard it blows horizontal and it can actually hurt when it hits you. Imagine a hail ball hitting with that kind of force.

Nature is incredible and is to be respected, that is for sure.

tornados are a rare occurrence in NC and VA. they don't have the same storm warning system that states like Kansas, OK and others have.

  21. Time will tell what Source Code will do for Jake's career. It certainly didn't hurt it. The movie and his acting got good reviews. I don't think it has elevated him to stardom. The movie was not an overwhelming success at the box office but it wasn't a disastor like Rendition or POP.

Cruise danced in his underwear and shouted "show me the money". Leo had Titanic. Depp had Jack Spparrow. Pitt took off his shirt in Thelma and Louise. Jake came pretty close with "I can't quit you" but of course most heterosexuals wouldn't agree. Either did jake's PR. Again time will tell if he will ever have another opportunity to play a character like Jack Twist that will catch the mainstream's eye.

  34. First of all, posted over on WFT2 by myself:

It should be obvious to the OTH girls that Austin & Sophia had ceased to use twitter to advance their "romance". It was even "revealed" on the Forum that the duo's plans were to keep things low key and more private. And the fans were admiring this new trend of theirs to not use twitter in this fashion. Indeed Sophin had ceased to tweet at each other.

But now that the show is over, all of a sudden these 2 are resuming the usage of twitter to place their whereabouts and to insinuate that they are together. For us on OMG and WFT2 who at the least realize Austin is gay and Sophia is his beard, leaving Jake out of the equation totally, it's extremely obvious what they're doing. Why the OTH girls don't even recognize this or wonder out loud about this change in behavior is unbelievable.

    ReplyDelete
  36. There are several holes in this supposed trip to Savannah GA.

For one thing, one has to question how one person knows that a wedding is the reason why Sophia supposedly went to Savannah. A blog moderator is the one who knew this. How does a blog moderator, especially one who lives overseas, know Soap's personal itinerary when nothing has been said thus far on twitter by even the Soap herself.

Supposedly, Soapy went to a wedding this past Saturday so Austin suddenly tweets about the movie, The Princess Bride. Not exactly lying, but not exactly telling the truth either. He tweeted early this morning:

Thank you Savannah, Georgia!! What a great audience. I love you and I will be back... Wait, I'm not in a band. 3 minutes ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

That means - it was just after 3 a.m. in Los Angesles (6 a.m. Savannah time) when he tweeted this statement, and it's from his BlackBerry. As someone reminded me, it is what a band would say when they say good night. Coachella, anyone?

4 hours ago Favorite Retweet Reply

The ESPN mag headquarters moved from NYC to Bristol CT in 2010, although they probably have smaller offices elsewhere.

But the fact of the matter is he's going from Birmingham AL to the northeast. Soap would be going from LA to Savannah GA.

Flights from LA to Savannah do not have stopovers in Birmingham. Flights from Birmingham to either NYC or CT do not go through Savannah. They can go through Atlanta. But there's 250 miles between Atlanta to Savannah.

How are these flights going to cross is what I'm saying? They're going in two totally different paths on flights with generally only one stopover.

Not only that, but how come he nor the other passengers recognize Austin? If they recognize Soap, they should know who Austin is. But no one tweets about Austin being on this flight. No one recognizes Austin and he just mentions Sophia.

And Austin's a big boy - he's got to be hard to miss on a flight.

  42. And lastly, the weather in the Southeast yesterday was precarious and dangerous. On Wake Up with Al on Friday morning, Stephanie Abrams was already saying it was looking bad for the southeast states.

Ryan McGee mentions the bad weather. But Soap doesn't. All she does is go on about how lovely her little historic strolls were and doesn't even mention the weather. Whether she flew in on Friday or Saturday, you would think the extremely turbulent weather conditions might be mentioned, especially when you've got a flight scheduled going through the said areas.

Nor does Austin mention the weather and/or the storms. In fact, on Friday nor Saturday, Austin tweets (oh excuse me, twacts) nothing about airports, flying, leaving L.A., goodbye everyone, etc. That's kind of a veer from the norm, isn't it?
