OMG is here to help ya big guy.

10. “I love tuna. Those little cans you’ve got here — tuna fish. No bones!”
9. [On the name St. Hubbins]
"He was the patron saint of quality footwear. "
8. "It's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black."
7. "Certainly, in the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is often useful."6. "I believe virtually everything I read, and I think that is what makes me more of a selective human than someone who doesn't believe anything."
5. "I'm getting a little shaggy myself. I'd better not stand too close to you, people might think I'm part of the band."
4. Nigel Tufnel: I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really. It's sort of...
Marty DiBergi: What do you call this?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump."
3. "Quite exciting, this computer magic!"
2. “What’s wrong with being sexy?”
And being from Texas, and fond of using the word trousers, we're guessing Austin's the number one Spinal Tap Quote for 11-11-11 is:
"They see us on stage with tight trousers. We’ve got, you know, armadillos in our trousers.”
And we can't forget Jake today, since he was so hip he was there before the world knew about Spinal Tap.
While we celebrate the fun of the day, we pause for something truly important.
We honor those who currently serve, those who have served, and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Thank you.
Love today's song selection, Very relaxing for a Friday. Also loved the image of "armadillos in our trousers.”
ReplyDeleteI plan to kick back this weekend. I have another round of business entertainment coming up next week with dinner obligations every night. At least they traveled to me this time so I get to sleep in my own bed.
Sorry M, I haven't change the song for today's Spinal Tap inspired post. It might not be as relaxing as this one.
ReplyDeleteThe latest Page Six nonsense about Jake:
ReplyDeleteI thought Jake indicated that the party was too loud?
Jared said Jake hightailed it out of the party.
ReplyDeleteHow do you have a conversation if was too loud ? And have a conversation for 30 minutes no less. And when has Jake worn a wool hat once this whole time in NYC?
It sounds like, to use some Spinal Tap vernacular, it can be summed up with two words: "S#!^ sandwich."
Oh noes, Jake was within an inch of an icky girl, touching the small of her neck no less. Oh the horror.
ReplyDeleteI better make up some excuses so I ca put that picture out of my head.
LOLLLLL, I've never seen so many mentions of closeted gay men with hot women in one gossip column.
ReplyDeleteExcuse the french, but what a fucking joke.
Regarding all the tweets, there are plenty of guys in NYC that look vaguely like Jake, which is one reason why I think he goes with the beard. I'm willing to bet some of the sightings are not really him, and there are probably a few people making it up because they know he's here. Of course a lot of them are legit, and there's the walking/subway factor vs. LA.
Good point about Jake and his mom out without Ramona.

Great workout with @meganbirmingham AND we were sitting two bikes away from Jake Gyllenhaal #soulcycle

DiCarprio couldn't take his eyes off model Karlie Kloss. Gyllenhaal, meanwhile, couldn't take his eyes off DiCaprio. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGood point about Jake and his mom out without Ramona.
ReplyDeleteHow is that a good point? Don't you think Ramona has a nanny? If BTs have one...

Enjoying having a second day of this song, I didn't realize she did any standards like this. Will have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I keep expecting to be blasted out of my seat with some Spinal Tap, and keep thinking of that classic scene with the 11s, lol.
Oops I must not have fixed the music today. Thanks for the heads up Dest.
ReplyDeleteAnd now for your Spinal Tap.
ReplyDeleteAnd Tom, looks like the Phils are getting a Red Sox Reliever. I don't know, those Phils are starting to sound like the National League version of the Yankees. :D
ReplyDeleteDon't wanna talk mabout the Phils yet SK. My heart is still broken. Yep they are spending a lot of money but still just 1 championship.
ReplyDeleteYou know what I think is funny is that the NY Post spins Jake chatting up a Brazilian model, when we all know that Austin is the long time fan of Brazilians.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I was thinking the exact same thing about Austin. Regarding, Page Six in the NY Post, doesn't it seem that their write-ups about known closeted gays have a bite to them? Maybe they don't like the hypocrisy of certain gay privileged actors.
ReplyDeleteJake's at Fat Radish.

It looks like The Fat Radish located close to Chinatown. I wonder if Jake stopped by there this morning about coming in tonight.
More about Jake in talks for The Way Way Back.

Wait wait ...now someone is sitting next to Jake at the Colonie in Brooklyn.

Is he having some progressive dinner, hopping for place to place? Or it is all just a wild goose chase?
Or it is all just a wild goose chase?
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily. Was he leaving Fat Radish as that tweeter was arriving? Had he arrived the same time? Did he arrive after tweeter was already seated? That tweet was two hours ago. Colonie an hour ago. Is he having dinner a Colonie? Drinks? Dessert?
Tom, the Phillies are spending money like a drunken sailor in this off season. $50 million for Papelbon. He's going to be a lot of fun for you in Philly.
ReplyDeleteWell that's why I said it could be a progressive dinner.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else ever done that?
I haven't it done it in ages, but it was fun to go one place for cocktails and appetizers then somewhere for main course and then some where else for coffee and dessert.
We use to do it among friends too, each person/house has one course, with five or six places to go.

D listed's comment about Jake and the model "Meanwhile, a source says that Jakey Gyllenhaal was at the same party and spent 30 minutes talking to Brazilian model Izabel Goulart. Yes, talking. That's what we're calling "a beard fitting" these days." Also, notice the article about DeCaprio mentioned that Lucas Haas was with him. He is always in the vicinity of Leo.

Im sure Papeibon is great SK. We need somebody who can hit in the clutch though and not choke come playoff time. I know the Giants had very good pitching but the Cardinals??????
Very mixed emotions watching the College Football team I have rooted for my whole life. Prayers for the victims. PSU players had nothing to do with the horriffic sins of men out of control.
ReplyDeleteI'm very disturbed by the Penn State events too, having gone to college there. Paterno was there of course even in my day and already a strictly by the book rule setter so I don't understand his casual reaction to what the witness saw. And why the asst coach did not immediately call the police is beyond me. Rumor has it that even more info is to be revealed soon that just makes it look even worse. The players and students are innocent in all this. But if I were on the team, I'd be wondering about the hypocrisy demonstrated by those in charge, Paterno included.

ReplyDeleteJust sat down to eat at a "daycare-like" cafe w/ a bunch of kiddos running around and Jake Gyllenhaal walked in. Very random day. Lol

I just don't get the Penn State business; how can you witness something so brutal and not call the police.
ReplyDeleteJust saw Melancholia with Rosemary. Stunningly beautiful film, and the performances are all good, especially Kirsten Dunst. It's not something I'd recommend to everyone, it's more of a mood piece than a plot driven movie, but if you enjoy films for the visuals, mood and acting you might like it.
I knew the name sounded familiar.
ReplyDeleteThe Ali who tweeted seeing Jake was on the Bachelor and was the Bachelorette for Season 6 of the show.
Dest, I have heard good reviews for Melancholia and for Kirsten's performance. The Oscar buzz is starting for both.
