Austin tweeted this earlier, as his day was beginning.
This is what life is all about. The journey. What's around the next corner?-AUS10
Could he be talking about much more than his itinerary for the day?
Thursday was another full day for the group.
They spent it exploring Jerusalem’s old and new city. Got to see both Jewish and Christian sites and spent time as well in the Muslim quarter. At Mt Zion, they joined (for us non celebs it would be called crashing) a Bar Mitzvah. And walked the rooftops of the old city.
In the evening they enjoyed a wine tasting seminar, hit the bakeries and enjoyed some waffles.
And fans? Sounds like they found fans everywhere they went.
Today the group went underground. That is, in the tunnels and excavation under the Western Wall.Austin with a piece of clay that is over 2,500 years old.
For those who don't know, the Western Wall is at the foot of the western side of the Temple Mount. "It is a remnant of the ancient wall that surrounded the Jewish Temple's courtyard, and is one of the most sacred sites in Judaism outside of the Temple Mount itself."" Just over half the wall, including its 17 courses located below street level, and dates from the end of the Second Temple period."
It is a very sacred, spiritual and holy place, and many come to read, pray and leave prayers and requests on slips of paper placed in the crevices in the wall.
Austin later tweeted a picture from the Shuk in Jerusalem.
What a day. Lunch in the Shuk. Best market on Earth.-AUS10
Jake would be so jealous. Wonder if they have kale?

This trip of Austin's is fascinating. That's what's so amazing about Jerusalem, the holy site for three of the world's major religions that have so much in common, religious texts, holy figures, sites. Everyone, get along, please.
ReplyDeleteJerusalem is truly the world center of the birth of monotheism, complex and steeped in historical, archaeological and spiritual meaning, whether one is a believer or not. It’s great to see this kind of cultural exchange and to have Austin share the openness of the city with us.
ReplyDeleteI hope the road Austin finds himself on in the future leads to bountiful vistas and maybe not so many serpentine and meandrous circles. Self discovery can be a slow process, but incredibly rewarding once one has arrived at a place that in not so hermetically sealed off from the rest of the world. Privacy is one thing, sequestration is another.
Doubt can only be removed through action - Goethe
It looks like Austin is having an amazing experience in Israel.
ReplyDeleteBack to his first tweet today.
It seems a little out of place to the other stuff he has been tweeting. And when a non sequitur tweet comes from Austin it tells more than the obvious.
Sounds like another heads up to keep those eyes and ears open to what's to come.
Selling off the Crazy Tree.
ReplyDeleteHere is the first day of selling off the furniture and decorations from the set.
One described it as a yard sale that blew up.

Bumped into Jake Gyllenhaal in SoHo this morning.. Tapped his back and he said hi.. Just letting you all know HAHA

Dear Ted:
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for always (almost) answering my Q's! So tell me this, what is Reese's next move going to be? Finding genuine romance or sticking to good old fauxmance? P.S.: Do some of your E! colleagues ever actually read this section? Some of them said Gyllenspoon's split came as a "shock!" Puh-leeze!
—D
Dear Looking Forward:
If I know Reese (and I do), she'll be back in the red-carpet-ready romance saddle in no time. R.W.'s still clinging to that America's Sweetheart image and she needs a somewhat innocent-looking stud by her side to make it work. As for the Gyllenspoon shock? Everyone's got their own opinions, but I was about as shocked as when Adam Lambert came out of the not-so-deep closet.

ReplyDeleteAnother big day for Austin via the update from America's Voices in Israel's blog:
ReplyDeleteDecember 9, 2011
What a day. They just keep getting better and better. We started the day with a VIP tour of the Western Wall Tunnels. Words cannot describe the experience we had as we explored the excavations underneath the Western Wall. Hidden layers of the Wall are revealed underground. The walls tell the story of ancient Jerusalem and of generations of longing for it.
We all spent a few special private moments praying at the Western Wall and then spent time visiting the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.
We then went to the City of David. When we thought we had seen it all, the history, the archaeology, the excavations and the site once again blew us away. The tour of the City of David began with a breathtaking observation point overlooking Biblical Jerusalem that sends visitors 3,800 years back in time to the days of Abraham, when the first foundations of the city were laid. As one moves through the site, one comes in contact with archaeological excavations and thrilling biblical finds that span thousands of years of history including both First and Second Temple Jerusalem.
We will now go to the Western Wall to greet the Sabbath and then have a Sabbath dinner at the hotel.
Each day just keeps getting better!!

Wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't Austin take the little one or one(s) with him on vacation to Isreal? Jake's back in NYC, well, who's taking care of the child(ren)??
ReplyDeleteWhat a good guy Jake! How sweet is that!
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't Austin take the little one or one(s) with him on vacation to Israel?
ReplyDelete#1, the kids are as deep in the closet as their parents. Yeah right, Austin is going to have the brood right at his side in full view of all these cameras and hundreds of on-lookers.
#2, this is a business trip with a side of pleasure.
#3, Austin would have to have the nannies with him. He can't keep an eye on a brood of nursery-age kids while trying to network and do all of this walking. He would need multiple strollers, diapers, pull-ups, Cheerio snacks and ear-plugs in order to handle 4 kids (no way a month 1/2 yr old baby is going to make this trip) on his own. And when are they going to get their naps in?
Those kids are too young to appreciate and get anything out of a trip like this. This is an incredible opportunity for Austin to network and have a cultural experience at the same time.
Jake isn't there because duh. They are in the closet.
I think Jake is hiding out from the press and Personal Manager Solicitors after his announcement of letting Evelyn go. Just my opinion on that one.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean he's "hiding out"?
ReplyDeleteAfter going through twitter, two things:
ReplyDelete1) I've never seen Austin get as much Twitter action as he is getting right now. There are so many people tweeting at him, retweeting him and shouting out to him during this trip. I'm amazed at the number of fans in Israel who are so excited to hear he is in their country, giving him travel tips and wanting to meet him. It's a real jolt to me and just shows me how ignorant I can be in my Kansas hole.
2) The OTH fans are getting desperate to see Austin & Sophia become engaged. They're spreading false tweets and rumors and tried to get something started today on Twitter that they were engaged. Either that or they're trying to set the stage for their "break-up", not sure what all of this is about.
All I know is it's hard to feel sorry for either Austin or Soapy on this matter simply because they have never let word "leak" that Sophin is kaput. If they would own up to the truth, they would not have to deal with all the silly tweets and nonsense on the OTH forums; instead Sophin is dying this excruciatingly slow-motion kind of death. It's so bad, they're on oxygen at this point.

ReplyDeleteHe is not everywhere. He's been seen on the street and at the reliable Soul Cycle getting a workout.
ReplyDeleteI'd hardly call that "everywhere".
I'll gladly offer a correction when I see a lot more tweets like we saw in November.
See ya, Jack. I'm off to bed. Go find a scratching post somewhere else.

ReplyDeleteI'll gladly offer a correction when I see a lot more tweets like we saw in November.
ReplyDeleteExactly, PG. November 11 was my favorite day of all so far. Jake tweets started at approximately 7 a.m. and didn't end until practically midnight. And, as if that wasn't enough, the following week, on November 16th, another tweet came out of the blue and placed Jake somewhere else on November 11. Talk about wanting us to think Jake was everywhere that day.
LOL who is desperate enough to keep track of how many tweets per day!
ReplyDeleteThe profusion of tweets on 11/11/11were pretty hard to miss, even to a casual observer. I saw them too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like someone is getting desperately nervous about why it was so necessary to shove that many tweets at people within a 24-hour period.
why it was so necessary to shove that many tweets at people within a 24-hour period.
ReplyDeleteLOL so they were all fake? Or they were all in on the conspiracy to tweet that day. Gawd, too stupid for words.
^Why are you still here?
ReplyDeleteTrolls just can't get enough of this site. I love it! They just can't stand that after all these years, Jake is with Austin and raising a family. Maybe him leaving Evelyn worries them too. In fact, I'm sure it does.
ReplyDeleteMalawi is reconsidering their anti-gay criminal statute as a result of Hilary's speech (they get over $250 million a year in money and aid from the U.S.)
ReplyDeleteIt was a great speech, no doubt about it. But it's atrocious that hate that is going on in Puerto Rico - isn't there anything that can be done?
The troll is nervous that Ted is going to drop a bombshell tomorrow. Jake's PR must have got wind of something big, given the recent news about Evelyn. Ted's interns have leaked things before.
ReplyDeleteYou have to ask yourself why Jake would drop his manager after his last movie Source Code was pretty successful.
ReplyDeleteTrolls are nervous yes, it is fairly obvious to everyone but themselves. If they were confident in what they believed in, they would not be hanging onto every word spoken here.
And yes, you do have to study and archive tweets. Why? Because that's how you catch inconsistencies and question marks.
M&M caught two tweeters in a LIE, placing Jake in two different places at the same time. Now somebody was lying. The overabundance of tweets placing Jake everywhere in NYC on November 11 was a direct clue that something was going either on that day or very close to it. That has been an MO before on something big going on in Jake's life in the past. Big Distractions and Look-Over-Here's to get attention drawn away from what is either really going on or what has very recently happened.
Prime example: Reeke coming out in Rome came directly on the heels of BT 1 being born.
Jake has been seen all about NYC. That's not hiding out. Tweets everywhere. Sorry Prairie Girl, your theory does not make much sense. Jake is seen everywhere in the big apple, stayed in LA no time, what, a day or 2 to fire what's her name, Austin half way around the world in Isreal. If they do have (1) child, they should let the nanny adopt her/him. LOL The two of them sure don't spend time with the child.
ReplyDeleteNo bearding or hiding fantasy children is most likely the truth.
Want to see what Jake's next move is though just as you do.

Just saw a bearded Jake Gyllenhaal walking down 12th street with his iPod.

For fantasy children you sure do cling to every word that is written around here. Most well- adjusted people don't habitually hover around those with whom they vehemently disagree. You may protest and make believe that what is presented is looney, but your ubiquitous presence/actions contradict what you want us to believe is a dismissive attitude.
ReplyDeleteTrolly wants us to believe that all Jake does throughout the day is eat a late breakfast, then lunch, go to SoulCycle class, walk around with his iPod, take public transit then magically go home to the same place that no one ever sees him enter or leave. Right. That's believable.
ReplyDeleteOops! I forgot in the middle of all those meals, Jake also goes shopping at Whole Foods, if Mommy lets him. **Slaps Forehead** What was I thinking?

ReplyDeleteUntrue. Jake pretty much disappeared around Thanksgiving. There might have been an isolated tweet here or there, but for days there were none, until he was spotted in Silver Lake by a tweeter. A picture didn't appear until the weekend. In fact, Jake took off for S.F. the same day Austin left for Jerusalem.
