There's a new trailer out for EoW, with a slightly different feel.
Check it out.
And just a couple of days ago we saw a tweet about seeing Jake and Michael at ComicCon and weren't sure if it was legit or not.
End Of Watch panel Hall H at 12:45 p.m 7/14 Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Peña
But now it looks like it is official Jake and his co-star will be ComicCon in San Diego Saturday, July 14th

Now Jake has done these before but it never hurts to brush up, now who is doing a Con before his?
Well this trip to SD Jake will have to get out of the trailer.
And with EoW co-start Cody Horn in this weekend's opener Magic Mike they are getting in a few questions about Jake and EoW.
Fandango: We heard about a “full circle moment” with you and Jake Gyllenhaal. What was that all about?
Horn: It was really a pleasure to work with Jake. We actually went to the same high school. Although, I didn’t cross paths with him, we missed each other by a couple of years, I had heard about him in film study classes through teachers that helped start his career. It was just great to work with him because he was like an entity that I had seen growing up and all of a sudden we’re making a movie together. (source)
Cody and America play partners, with Cody's character, a former Marine has something to prove, that she didn't get the job, because her dad is the Chief of Police.
Before you sign off on it remember there's more evidence to come....
Not great vibes on EOW. Might be entertaining but not great. Do have good vibes on An Enemy though. I think it may be a really good chance for Jake to show us what he has got. Looking at some of the photos recently it sure looks like he is really putting hs heart and soul into this part.
ReplyDeleteThere is a story in the Daily Mail of placing Jake in NY with a mystery woman.
ReplyDeleteDaily Mail
1) She looks like of the girls that works on his team.
2) A big splash about where he is, is his classic misdirection move.
Paris anyone?
New York City anyone? I was having a drink earlier with a friend who had seen Jake and I assume the mystery woman around Lex & 86th.
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is all about Paris.
ReplyDeleteAnd it all started with that fake @Jake_Gyllenhaal twitter account who suddenly started tweeting frantically on Thursday the 28th after a long absence from tweeting. The prejudiced person who tweets from that account rattled off a good handful of angry comments regarding President Obama's health care bill, enough to get a bunch of replies and flood a Jake Gyllenhaal tweet search.
Robot tweets and the fake Jake account - that's the MO of PR trying to bury that damaging dandelion that happens to pop up out of the grass.
This also coupled with Austin's dropping the ball on his own personal Comic Con countdown to Paris. He left everyone hanging at Day 7 and hasn't been heard from since.
Jake probably hung around NYC enough to get some tweet sightings out and get fingers and tongues to wagging while he escapes out the back door, so to speak.
Lame, lame, lame, lame. It's like really lousy foreplay without the sex, Jake. You just can't see the whole deed through anymore. #PerformanceMalfunction
If Jake was being papped while on a date I doubt he would be all smiles and happy.
ReplyDeletePhelps beats Lochte again. The fish is peaking at the right time. Next stop London.
ReplyDeleteAUSTIN NICHOLS @AUS10NICHOLS
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna strap @GoPro camera to my head for all my auditions. Extreme Acting.

Hope you're feeling better Special. It's awful to miss something like that because you're sick.
ReplyDeleteIsn't jake still filming? If so, I don't see what he would be covering up, because he is probably not free to travel somewhere like Paris.
Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian friends!!!
ReplyDeleteNational Holiday for Canada.
Austin's tweet is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt talks about strapping a camera to him, which is what Jake does in EoW.
And the timing of the tweet, it comes out AFTER the story of Jake in NY with the mystery lady.
It looks like Austin is saying in his own way, I am still with Jake, and he could be saying Jake is with me.
And that picture on Sat. in NY? She had long sleeves on. And it was hot as blazes on the East Coast. No long sleeves. Looks like another stock picture and another story to create cover.
And does Jake have time off to go with Austin, well PG's latest comment reminded me, it is Canada Day, so tomorrow is celebrated as the holiday. No Work. Jake left Canada on Thurs. Plenty of time for someone like him to have a day or two with his hubs.

ReplyDeletebecause he is probably not free to travel somewhere like Paris.
ReplyDeleteJake has been free since Wednesday the 27th if one has been observing outside resources of information and not just using OMG as a go-to.
Yep, the MO is pure Jake. Off to Paris and here comes the hetero alibi. Just like clockwork.
ReplyDeleteSo now Minka is on the list as one of Jake's exes. Thats so funny. Gotta say though that Minka is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteNearly 50 pics of someone no one recognizes, and therefore cares anything about. Talk about overkill and obvious. We get no pics of Jake with Minka Kelly, yet tons of photos with a so-called civilian, "mystery date". Helloooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteAt least the mystery woman got Jake to change his pants. I dont recall seeing those. Most likely a friend or relative as usual. Smiles, but no touching.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I will be seeing Magic Mike with a lady friend, though I will have to wait until Saturday to see it.
Tom, I agree with you re End of Watch. The trailer leaves me cold. I'll wait for the reviews to decide if I will see it in the theater or on DVD. As for Magic Mike, I am ready to preorder that DVD now, sight unseen just from the trailer.
Espana vs. Italia. Two of my favorite countries. Who will be champion?

ReplyDeleteIn regard to EOW the new trailer isn't all that great. In fact it's just a shorter version of the original. But the film may surprise everyone. At least in terms of box office. EOW may turn out to be the first "Jake Gyllenhaal above the film credit title" to come in at number one in it's first weekend opening and that is something Jake has yet to achieve base solely on his star power.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at the other films opening the weekend of Sept. 28, 2012 and they make an interesting lot. We have Won't Back Down starring Viola Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Of course that's the chick flick film of the bunch. Then we have Trouble with the Curve the first film in which film heavyweight Clint Eastwood will be starring in which he won't be directing the film as well. Personally I don't think either film has a chance at beating EOW at the box office that first weekend. It's the third film opening that weekend that could be a major challenge to EOW.
Looper is a sci-fi thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. It's the story of hired killers who are able to kill people in the future, while still remaining in the present. Joseph is a successful hit man. The problem comes when he's assigned to kill the Bruce Willis's character, who just happens to be the Gordon-Levitt's character in the future. I've seen the trailer. It's fantastic, and like EOW, Looper is definitely aimed towards the male audience.
I think it's going to depend on how many theaters will be showing both EOW and Looper during that weekend to see which one will come out on top. The cop drama or sci-fi thriller.
