By Hair on Your Chinny Chin Chin

There is a new study shows that facial hair says a lot about a man and that attractiveness peaks at the "heavy stubble" phase.

Researchers published their finding in  the May issue of Evolution and Human Behaviors.

The Researchers photographed 10 men at four stages of beard growth: clean shaven, 5-day "light" stubble, 10-day "heavy" stubble (shown), and fully bearded.

Three hundred and fifty-one women and 177 heterosexual men viewed the photos and rated each face for attractiveness, masculinity, health, and parenting ability.

Women ranked heavily stubbled faces as the most attractive. Participants said that the clean-shaven men looked about as healthy and attractive as those with a full beard, but rated the bearded men higher for perceived parenting skills.

Light stubble got the short end of the stick, garnering low scores across the board from both men and women.

Does this mean multi - parenting?

Jake's team's now trying not to hurt themselves as they run to grab razors, clippers and lifetime passes to the Art of Shaving.

Speaking of beard busting.

These two picture were tagged the same day.  Notice anything?

  1. Excellent, Special. Jake can grow the hair but even he isn't going to 'densify' his beard within hours.

I think what they have are their own set of file photos. Then when they need for Jake to be in NYC, they toss out a photo set, slap a current date on it, and voila! He's 2000 miles away from Austin.

Is it any coincidence that after the day long discussion on the blog yesterday, here came the Just Jared post placing Jake meandering around Union whatever from Friday the 26th and people from the set of Ray Donovan are all suddenly compulsed to tweet at Austin about the day on set as well. What I found funny was that no one was compulsed to do so after Austin's first episode of filming, why not? But last night, you had several people feeling the need.

It's all in the timing and last night's online EKG was going bonkers for several people who were discussed in depth on OMG. Totally predictable and expected.

    Great observation once again, Special.

  2. You know, I keep remembering Jake's words to that person in the audience at The Hollywood Reporter, that this was the profession he has chosen in which to support his family, meaning Austin and the kids. And that is all right and good. That is a human right, I think, to be able to work and support your family.

But this is what we would never be able to get across to these two boneheads, Jake and Austin, because like alot of young people, they think they know it all and are smarter than anyone else. The sad thing is, they don't even fall into the category of 'young people' anymore, meaning teenager or 25 year old. They're approaching their mid 30's yet they act like they're 18 with years and years ahead of them.

But what I bet they're not thinking about is how their kids are going to feel about the way their fathers are going about supporting them. Not in ten years, not even in 20 probably. It'll be when their kids hit 30 and 40, that's when the kids will read and they're going to see the lying and the bent over backwards displays of denial.

Or maybe not. Maybe the guys will have alot of this scrubbed from the Internet. Maybe there will be nothing lying around the house which could incriminate. Maybe Jake and Austin are planning on keeping all of this to themselves, never let the kids know what they did.

And how would these kids feel if they knew? Would they want one of their dads intentionally trying to scrub out all evidence of them and the partner just so the parents could continue bringing home the bacon, so to speak? Is that what a child would want to know their parent did "for them"? Was it the honorable thing to do?

It's not like this is WW2 or the Civil War and Jake and Austin have to disguise themselves just to survive to live. Yet that's what they act like.

I cannot believe the shenanigans which happened this past week just because of a simple thing like a birthday. Since when did a birthday become such a complicated cause in need of a "mastermind plan"?

Just for cake and ice cream. Some Hallmark cards. A big smooch. And some little kids who by now are discovering how fun birthdays are. If those little ones only knew how hard their dads have made birthdays out to be.
