I did a podcast with some great friends. Guys much smarter than me. Creative Confidants. Check this out.
The Creative Confidants are Mick Thyer and Jason Joel who host a weekly podcast to explore two things:
How do creative minds go about doing their best work? How can we encourage each other to do the same?
"This uplifting, fun and positive podcast follows these two confidants on their quest to create something every day and inspire others to do the same."
"Believing that everyone has a song to sing, a novel to write, a role to play, we just want to offer some help in getting those things out."
The hour and 27 minute chat with Austy covers all kind of things from how he got started as an actor, how he got to USC, working with David Milch, his influences as an actor and as a director, waterskiing, the physicality of his approach to acting, the favorite character he's played, his Bob Ross love, JFC, his love of 80's music, how Julian was basically Austin every day and he talks about honesty when he approaches the acting process and the role that plays as well as along with self and curiosity in creativity. Does Austin mention Jake? Yup, he does.
You can hear the enthusiasm and passion he has for actor.
And if you think Jake can swear like a sailor - Austin gives that a run for the money and then some.

Austin's going to have to watch his language at this one:
ReplyDeleteActor and director Austin Nichols will be the first guest in California Lutheran University’s 2014-2015 “Conversations With …” series on the craft of acting.
The former “One Tree Hill” actor will answer questions starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Preus-Brandt Forum on the Thousand Oaks campus. Actor, writer and director Markus Flanagan, who teaches at Cal Lutheran, will moderate the informal one-hour discussion followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.
Cal Lutheran - "Conversations With"
Well, good for Austin for getting his butt out of the house, lol.
ReplyDeleteoh, I killed myself on that one.
I might have to give that podcast a bit of a listen to, if just to hear if he really does say "Jake Gyllenhaal". I won't believe it until I actually hear the two words uttered from his very mouth.
Is he trying to give OMGers a coronary?
Dallas Con this weekend, woohooo!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove these Con weekends.
Happy Birthday M & M. Hope it was a good one!!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, everyone. I've had a lovely day. Beautiful prezzies. Beautiful friends. Even a Brokeback Squirrel Birthday card. Nothing too racy just a red cowboy hat with a rifle wielding rodent! :-)
