Beautiful Summer

Austin is working on another movie this week.

I just started a really cool film today. I LOVE MOVIES - AUS10

Could it be the Sandler movie, "I Hate You Dad" (gold star to M&M for tracking down that title) or another movie ?

But while he's doing that Austin still has two movie to come out.

Well the wait is not that much longer for one.

Beautiful Boy opens on Friday June 3 in New York or Los Angeles and selected cities. It comes out bringing with it strong reviews. Beautiful Boy was a winner at the Toronto Film Festival and has been getting high praise since, especially the performance of Mario Bello.

It was a small project made for about $1 million but brings a big punch and new perspective to unfortunately a scene that has played out several times in the past few year.

The story finds middle class couple Bill and Kate Carroll, on the verge of separating, having to face "grief, guilt, rage, and blame" after their 18-year-old son’s shooting rampage on his college campus and his subsequent suicide. And through it the question is will be what ends their marriage or what rebuilds it?

Meatloaf is the hotel manager who is saying everything the public wants to say. Surrounding them are family, friends and neighbors do what they think is best, or helpful, or what they feel they need to do.

An unconventional love story, one person who saw the movie in Toronto called the experience heartbreaking but well worth it.

Austin plays Cooper Stearns a writer who's following the aftermath of the story.

Austin's other movie LOL: The Movie is slated to come out during the holiday season before the end of the year.

And if it's Tuesday it must be Two Wheels.

Get out and ride.

  2. I don't know if I will make it through such an emotionally wrenching movie as Beautiful Boy, but I do want to see it. Everyone says that Mario Bello does incredible job.

Once again it shows that small films can make it big.

  5. Hello from tornado zone! We've had tornado watches and warnings all week, it seems.

Oh my dog, I just had a terrible thought. I hope there aren't any mini earthquakes or anything like that while I'm in the big Califor-NI-A!!! That would be terrible!!

Lord willing, 48 hrs from now I will have met M&M for the first time in person!! Won't that be something? We'll see if she survives!

I'll see if I can coerce real m into a Slash discussion and the 3 of us will then run amuk.

Actually have put a few things together sort of in the ol' suitcase. THE most important items, without fail, are........not money.....not socks........but........CHARGERS!!!!

    lol

  6. Wow, I can't believe Mark Ballas & Chelsea came in 3rd! I thought they were the favorites.

Oh oh, hope that's not a spoiler for anyone. Aw, no one here is watching DWTS - I'm the only one.

Well, better sign off so I can hit the ol' hay. Gotta go in early tomorrow and put in my last 8 hrs before the big V starts.

  7. One last thing, though.

You know, someone needs to stop yapping on JustJared & Twitter, namely Sophia Bush.

She who is helping to beard by lying and deceiving her fans and the public, putting on the most fake of hetero relationships with a gay actor. She's a real piece of work.

This comes from a post tonight on JJ where Soap attended yet another bridge club luncheon.

  8. PG, I have had lots of calls out to KC checking on family with all this tornado stuff going on.

Oh those memories of a kid growing up and practicing all those drills. At school, at camp, at Girl Scouts. And how many times we were sent down to the basement when we were home, to wait out a warning.

The scariest one I ever had was when we were performing for some kids who were at KNI (Kansas Neurological Institute) which was back in the day where parents of severely intellectually and physical disabled children were told would be the best place for their kids. In the midst of the performance, the sirens went off and we had to go to a centralized safe location on the campus. It was pitch black and the had to evacuate hundreds and hundreds of kids. I was 10 but I still can remember what it was like, the urgency, the fear, and sounds of the storm and the kids crying and screaming as everyone was trying to get to the emergency shelters.

  11. Dylan is 70? I cant tell you how old that makes me feel. I spent many an hour mesmerized by his lyrics at one time.

Austin's new film sounds really good. I'll have to see that one. So glad he is in something that is getting critical acclaim. A film that is, not TV.

PG, you won't have to ask twice about discussing slash. We can talk about and compare our favorite stories. My current favorite has not updated in several months. Bummer.

  13. How does it feel?
    How does it feel?
To have ya’ on your own?
    With no direction home?
    Like a complete unknown?
    Like a rolling stone?

Love the song selection, Special. A groundbreaking song from a iconoclastic wayfarer. A little over 24 hours before the great PG arrives to shake things up in California. Wonder what the number will be on the Richter Scale?

  14. And I'm not packed!!!!!! lol
And lunch time today means a trip to Wally World. It's not right if things aren't done until the last minute when it comes to traveling.

I'm going to have to see if we 3 can't come up with some kind of a photo op for Special to put up. I don't know, what do you think ladies?

    Yoga? Karate? Surfing? Biking? Borders!!!!!

There's always the good old standby - the ever reliable coffee run.

I know!! Farmers Market! NAH, Busy Phillips probably isn't available.

  15. We could do one going into M&M's place for a bridge club luncheon.

  17. Bridge luncheon, lol.

You know what really gets me is Soapy carrying on about gay rights. I used to like her for doing that, but now that she's bearding it just makes her a hypocrite. It's all kind of wrong to beard, and it just furthers the status quo of straight relationships as the only valid ones. What a tool.

  18. Jared will probably take it down but look at a comment on the new post about Sophia.

    D. @ 05/25/2011 at 9:33 am

    Thumb up Thumb down 0

Maybe if starlets like Sophia and their gay co-stars didn’t beard and lie it would help the LGBT community gain their rights. When phonies like Austin Nichols hide in the closet and beard they’re telling the world that there is something wrong with being gay.

    You’re a fraud Sophia.

    Of course somebody responded.

    @D.:
Oh just do yourself a favor and shut the f*ck up! Unless anyone has SOLID proof that a certain actor is gay, I suggest you zip up your fat mouths and refrain from spreading lies. Because if you really wanna go down this boat, then you’d know that practically every actor in Hollywood from Brad Pitt to George Clooney to Will Smith to Bruce Willis to Ryan Gosling to Leonardo Decaprio to Jensen Ackles to Matt Damon(and the lists goes ON and ON) have all been said as being gay. I can sit here behind my computer just like you and make up a whole story about how so and so is not straight but in fact gay but unless I back it up with hard proof, it means jack sh*t. So try not to sound so dumb next time and try making comments that actually make sense. This is the internet after all and its full of lies and rumors from people who have NO lives. So get on with it.

Exactly; that's why I said what I did. She needs to quit it.

Wow, thanks for saving that, 12:43. Boy, that person got really peeved, didn't they?

    They know Sophin is fake.

  20. My dad just called to tell me they were ok. They had to take cover as a funnel was coming up from South of them and predicted to touch down a third time two blocks from their place. They took cover and got in the bathroom. The funnel went right over them but didn't touch down.

  21. Thanks goodness Special. It's so awful what's happening in Kansas, one storm after another. It must be so scary watching and worrying from such a distance.

  22. Wow, more photos of Quinto and Groff together on JJ, this time for the premiere of Hangover II in NYC. Also read on DL that they were at a play together the other night. Being seen together like that in photos, first in LA and now NY, makes a pretty strong statement.
