Marshal (&) Law

Austin had a great day yesterday leading those thousands of cyclists out onto the streets and bike paths in LA and hanging with the mayor too boot from all the pictures he posted.

Austin was a great Grand Marshal and help spreading the mission of the LACBC and the River Ride to millions of Angelenos.

Want to see what one of the rides was like? Check it out as they marked the course.

It takes many many people to put this on an event like this, include these volunteers who got up and went to mark one course early Sunday morning.

We know the important to Austin, not just for all the promoting and work he did to get the word out before the ride but seeing he got dressed up for the occasion. Bike shorts were not good enough, he went for the long dress shorts over his bike shorts (Check out the ensemble here - second row middle picture). Either he wanted to look good for the camera, just wanted to show off that sharp looking belt, or he didn't want anyone checking out his own "tight fitting clothing".

Speaking looking nice in LA, Jake was looking oh so nice when he attended the LAPD Medal of Valor ceremony several weeks ago.
Despite the sunglasses Jake can't go incognito with that big official name tag.

And it doesn't work when he tries harder either. Ditching the name tag, probably wearing the shades, and even laying low this weekend and out of long lens of the camera looks like Jake was still was spotted in LA Saturday and Sunday.

  2. So Jake was attached to Doug Liman's moon project since 2007 and it was stuck in a production holding pattern for 4 years. This past March Variety said Linman was auditioning new actors, and today they say that Paramount is now putting the finishing touches on it to fast-track it.

Makes you wonder why was it held so long and why it's fast tracked now. Was the Studio not really feeling it as Jake as the lead? Or was Jake the one who held it up because of his personal and professional schedules?

  3. But, I know you’ve all got some great and worthy picks out there, too. Is it the urgent kiss between Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain that tugs at your heart, or do you get swept up with Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in Gone With The Wind? Do you get revved up by watching Naomi Watts and Laura Harring in Mulholland Dr.? Or, like as it so often is at the MTV Movie Awards themselves, will it be Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Twilight who stand the test of time as the greatest movie kiss ever? Pucker up and us know in the comments section below!

  5. Mikhail Gershman is the best cabbie in LA. Talk on the phone in Russian, text, eat baskin robbins and drive all at the same time. Gifted.

  6. It's sort of odd that Jake was so low profile this weekend. It seemed like all the other hot actors were at various awards shows. I supppose someone had to stay home with the kids. I'm glad Austin got to enjoy his weekend event without distractions or competition. It would have been nice to see Jake at the ride with him, but if he had been there he would have stolen the attention and it would have been all about Jake and Austin and not the ride.

I can understand Jake frowning when strangers ask for a picture on the street, but that picture with the policeman was at an event he agreed to attend. A smile would have gone a long way towards making that photo memorable for the policeman being honored.

Wouldn't you know its Bradley Cooper who is now the frontrunner for the moon pic.

Yeah, I realize that now, m. Good point.

    Exactly.

  9. I don't get the unhappy faces in pictures like that either. I wonder if his lack of attendance at events is because he doesn't get invited, or because he just doesn't want to go.

BC for the Moon project? Got to wonder if Jake's being attached to it wasn't why they were having trouble getting it produced, and that maybe he dropped out so as to not keep it from getting made.
