Treasure Chest

Last Monday it was all about Austin wanting to be a pirate.

Then OMG mentioned Jake talked like one on Conan.
But who remembered Jake was Pirate?

And this past spring was back to his Pirate ways? (Well at least with the hat)

Wonder if he likes to walk the plank?
Ahoy Matey!

  1. It makes you wonder if the NY Post piece is a way of announcing Jake's departure from the city after all these weeks.

  2. He was still in the city as of yesterday. So...

  3. That was an odd write up in the NY Post about Jake. A head scratcher for sure. So much about this guy nowadays is positively mystifying.

@loveforeverblog it was definitely crazy on the second floor segment. Thought of you because my cousin took me to ABC Carpet.

  5. What I don't get about that brief article on Page Six is that one person says he's always there. Then the NY Post writer states that Jake was unable to make his usual Friday afternoon class on 11/4. Given that Jake was first seen at Soul Cycle in the middle of October, that means he only had 3 appointments, but for some reason the writer wants us to know that he missed last week's session. Curious for sure.

  8. Sounds like the NY Post needed to fill some space. Jake did not make his spin class is about as uninteresting as it gets.

For those still reading, A Way with Words finally updated after a very long wait.

  9. Dear Ted:
I finally caught Love & Other Drugs, and the chemistry between Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway was steamy! Yes, I know they're pals and actors, but I don't think passion can be totally faked (see: any movie where Hugh Jackman has had to kiss a woman). What's the deal there? Just comfort and connection between two friends or could there be even a hint of more, even if just fleeting?

    Dear Hugh Hater:
Uh, why so hard on Jackman? I think Jake's had just as many babe misses as has hottie Hugh (if not more—Rendition and Prince of Persia, anyone?). But yes, there genuinely was something extra between Hathaway and Gyllenhaal in Love. Like, Anne, was as gaga for nudie Jakey as the whole rest of the world, and who can blame the girl?

  10. Aww, Buddy has a little pengey boy toy. LOL!

Still it's sad about Buddy and Pedro because if penguins live an average of 20-25 years in captivity that's pretty cruel to split them up now since Buddy is already 20 years old. Although it does appear like the zookeepers intend their separation to only be temporary:

Pedro and Buddy’s separation will only last as long as they can inseminate their respective female partners. While incubating eggs, the two may well be back “side by side.” Once breeding season is up, Pedro and Buddy will “probably” ditch their female partners and reunite, said Bill Rapley, executive director for conservation, education and wildlife at the Toronto Zoo.

  11. "When Nat Faxon and Jim Rash's hot screenplay "The Way, Way Back" came due a year ago, Walsh pounced. The coming-of-age dramedy, which was set up at Mandate Pictures with Principato-Young and Shawn Levy's 21 Laps producing, attracted a number of big-name actors and directors including Levy, Tom Bezucha and Alexander Payne. Walsh persuaded Groundlings alums Faxon and Rash, who also penned Payne's "The Descendants," to direct. The producer is now in talks with Jake Gyllenhaal to star."

    Jake in Kevin Walsh film?

  13. Now, we know why Jake attended the premiere of The Descendants a few weeks back and talked about George Clooney earlier in the year. Nat Faxon and Jim Rash wrote the film's screenplay.

  14. ^I was just going to say that M&M.

The Descendants is already getting good buzz and reviews.

But what kind of role would Jake play in a coming of age movie?

  16. Jake in a coming of age movie? I think that ship has sailed. He certainly would not be the lead in that type of picture. Does not sound like a good fit at all.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Would he play a parent? Some type of authority figure?

It is a dramedy, could he be the adult that is either the antagonist or the figure that the protagonist has some bonds with?

  18. Sounds like the film is supposed to be in the same mold as "Little Miss Sunshine."

I hear that Rash and Faxon like to write about family dysfunction. Closeted Jake should be an expert on that topic by now!

  21. I guess Jake would be the adult he befriends, not the right age for the other roles described in that blurb.
