New steps from old ones.

Good to see Jake at enjoying Rufus' Luminato concert last night in Toronto.  And  good to see little traces of a Jake we know has always been there despite the cloak of misdirection.

And while it seems like such a small thing, it is sometimes those little things that are signs to something bigger.

Jake's been a fan of Rufus for a long time.   From belting out Cigarettes & Chocolate Milk with Kiki and friends at an early show to catching Rufus doing Judy twice, he took a break for a while but now he's back.

It's good to see him starting to retrace some steps he took before, maybe they will lead  closer to the destination.

And maybe instead of trying to hide  away so much,  just go with it Jake have fun and enjoy all you've got going and how much more you can have.

It was almost exactly 5 years ago  (June 8, 2007) - Jake  was helping Rufus out

In Berlin the joke was Jake was obsessed with the number 5.  Could be very good things happen in 5's for Jake.  ; )   And 5's in years is sign to good things to come.

  1. Yes very sweet to see Jake back at a Rufus concert. I hope there are better things to come for Jake. I would love to see him get his freedom back and to see that real awesome smile again.

  2. Totally agree with you, Tom.

    Here's to 5.

And many happy congratulations to Austin on his new television gig. Good for him!

When I referred to same old, same old, I was not referring to Jake and Austin themselves. I am referring to the pr games and the troll arguments that are brought over here.

But first and foremost in my heart will always be Jake and Austin. Always, always, always. No one will ever replace their top of the rung status for me. I have seen some small glimmers of cause for hope down the line and while I really tread cautiously now when it comes to these two, I echo Tom's wish for a break of the chains. I don't know when (who does?) but I think we're going to see the day.

  3. In the meantime, nothing wrong with some Larry lovin', though!!! I look at it like how one waits for their food at Cracker Barrel or Red Lobster. You know how tasty those garlic biscuits are at Red Lobster or the buttermilk biscuits are at Cracker Barrel.

Just a little something to enjoy while you wait for the Grand Poobah main entree.

  5. Sorry it took so long today. You love family but it can really throw off your game. All will be restored to normal soon.

  6. I certainly understand the excitement for One Direction. Fresh and fun. They are given so many the joy we have waited for so long to see in J and A. It is too be enjoyed.

  7. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who appreciates the photo in my new avatar PG. Such a hot photo that it inspired me to finally change my avatar (and happy to see it got a lot of attention around the internet, more than other photos released at the same time from the movie).

I know Matt just has a small role in the film, but I can't wait for Magic Mike to open in a couple of weeks.

  10. I read a post from someone who claimed to have read the Ray Donovan script and if it’s true what this person said, Austin’s role in Ray Donovan is really interesting.

    *****WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD********
    .

He’s an A-list Hollywood actor who is in trouble for getting caught picking up a male prostitute (a tranny) days before the release of his multi-million dollar action Blockbuster and needs urgent damage control to hide his sexual orientation from the public.

  11. Thanks Ray Donovan.

And what a choice of a role for Austy. That's one way to change directions.

  12. Thank you, Ray Donovan! Great to have so many eyes and ears out there to help out.

That sounds verrrrry interesting indeed. Can't wait to see this show.

A change in phone service has reaped, ahem, a sudden perk from the dropped carrier and I now have alllll these movie channels, including Showtime.

Funny how you tell your carrier you're dropping a facet of your package and all of a sudden, you get some kind of "incentive" to remain on the other facets.

Anyway, interesting news and hopefully we'll learn more. What I can't tell now is if Austin is in the pilot only or if he'll be in additional episodes. That part is puzzling me.

Either way, well off to the ol' ballgame tonight.

It is T Shirt Tuesday and tonight's shirt is awesome!!! But I'm taking my own water and ol' PG will count her $ very carefully because Royals Stadium loves to ream its customers and they're not getting anymore from me than is necessary. ;D

Don't even know who we're playing. All I know is I'm having the Chicago dog. LOLLLLLLL

  13. this is the description of Austin's role from the Casting call without spoilers:

["Tommy Jenkins"], any ethnicity, 18 - Mid 20s. Tommy is a charismatic, irreverent, Cocky, and intelligent movie star who loves to break the rules and take chances. He is mostly known for starring in action movies, though he is trying to break into other parts. Tommy is athletic and loves to work out. He is normally quite skilled at talking other people into doing almost anything. But Tommy finds himself in hot water with the press when he is caught with a prostitute, and he now must turn to Ray for help. CO-STARRING ROLE

  14. Thanks again Ray Donovan.

It looks like he will be regularly stirring up trouble that Ray will need to fix.

  18. Beware the Minka shipperJune 12, 2012 at 9:03 AM

See how this works? Homophobia so alive and well in our world.

Someone doesn't like to see OMGers develop optimism.

    Sad, sad, sad.

  20. I don't want to see any tweet brought over except for the one I asked for, have been asking for.

It all starts with that tweet and the Troll knows which one I'm talking about. When it comes over, then I can look forward to a skeet shoot. Until then, I'm going to enjoy what we've had for the last few days for once.

    ReplyDelete
  21. And guess why that would be. Because you know you have nothing. I can shoot that tweet full of holes. Ready and waiting.

And if it doesn't come, then I'm going to bring it on here myself and we're going to have a little PowerPoint presentation on how tweets are planted by civilians.

That is wonderful news for Austin. A chance for the big guy to show what he's got in a mature and layered performance. Love the provocative theme. There are definitely great signs in the wind. Jake showing up for a Rufus concert another one indeed.

And, yes 1D is a lot of fun. They are fresh, energic, cheeky, and pushing the edge of that envelope when it comes to expressing feelings that boy bands in particular had to squash completely. Their supporters are media savvy and amazingly supportive. But, I agree Tom. Jake and Austin will always be first in my heart. I am so thrilled to see some liberating changes on the way. It's been a long road, with many bends and curves, but they seem to be headed in the right one direction that they've been traveling toward since their deep and abiding love story began ten years ago.

  24. in a mature and layered performance

You got all that in a brief synopsis? Wow.

  25. I love you M&M. Ha! Good answer. The concise description I read about Austin's role in Ray Donovan looks pretty challenging to me. Certainly, a mature role and definitely an opportunity for Austin to tackle some provocative issues instead of being a pussy hound or being cast as some shallow arm candy.

...Cocky, and intelligent movie star who loves to break the rules and take chances....But Tommy finds himself in hot water with the press when he is caught with a prostitute, and he now must turn to Ray for help.

  26. Best news I've heard in a while. Austin landing a series role and on Showtime to boot. They are not afraid to show sex and skin so we may get to see a lot of Austin literally.
