Strong or Stronger?

A few years ago the talk was about Jake and Matt Damon competing to play Lance Armstrong in a biopic.  After all the of the recent events there was a Whew... Jake missed that bullet.

But  would he consider going for a second round?

Paramount Pictures and JJ Abrams'  Bad Robot partners JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk are planning to make a movie about Lance's epic rise and fall.   They’ve secured the screen rights to Cycle Of Lies: The Fall Of Lance Armstrong, a proposal for a book that will be written by Juliet Macur for HarperCollins. "

"Macur is a sports reporter for The New York Times, and she has covered Armstrong for over a decade, through the cyclist’s recovery from deadly cancer to his capturing seven Tour de France title."  She's covered the doping  allegations long before Lance's confession to Oprah.

While the movie Jake was in the running for was a heroic story of triumphant over adversity,  Abram's picture will be a fall of grace story which in fact would be a more compelling story.  The complexity of the deception and the complicated layered character study of a man deceiving the world and himself that he's doing anything wrong.  Talk about Oscar bait.

So WWJGD?

Would he throw his hat in the ring for the new picture about the fallen hero and use what he knows about Lance?

Or does he walk about and say "whew.....that was a close one"?

  1. I think Jake or anyone would love the part. Thank God the first plan never happened.

  2. Agree Tom about the movies.

I also agree Obama gave a great speach, and I really liked the inaugural poem, it was very touching.

Interesting photos of Jake on the set, being himself.

  5. Hmm, must be kind of hard to let the lights shine from your house when the residents from within keep turning them off, though. Right? Who keeps flicking those darn switches anyway?

You know, I look at that second picture from the top and you can see how the bare legs around Austin's neck in that B/W photo can definitely be Jake's. Sometimes Jake's calves seem more muscular than at other times. But in that particular photo at that period of time, they are very slender and his thigh is as well. Very much so. On the hinge of shapely, if you ask me.

Much like the legs in the Matt Frost B/W photo.

Another side note, something just struck me that it's interesting that of all the photos Austin's lady fans posted during his OTH days, i can't recall ever seeing the Frost B/W photo posted online, lol. Even if it was one of Spooky's "do not post elsewhere" photos, that never stopped cross-publishing before.

  6. Imo, I really don't care about it. I wont see it unless Jake was in it. Will this movie challenged him? Push him? He stated he wanted to go in that direction. To surprise his fans. He might not take on the project if he is still his friend.

  7. Much like the legs in the Matt Frost B/W photo.

Wasn't that a Davis Factor photo?

  8. Thank you, probably was! I'm not as good at remembering specific names all the time. You are most likely right, thanks again!

  9. Thank you, I was very unsure of the photographer so you are probably right.

  11. PG you were correct, the picture was taken by friend to both Jake and Austin, Matthew Frost.

Davis Factor has done three photo series with Austin but the picture of Austin with legs wrapped around him were not part of any of those photo sessions.

  12. What do I win?

    lol.

Man, let me tell you guys something.

Santa brought me a cool, cool toy this year. The Bose Soundlink speaker. Can you hear it????

Oh yeahhhhhhhh....man, that is rich. Geez, I love Bose. I have a set of their computer speakers but they don't sound as good as this little gem. It's not that much bigger than a paperback and it operates via bluetooth so I can sync it to my phone, IPad and no wires. It can run on batteries or AC. And you can pair it with up to 6 devices. The cover folds underneath to serve as a stand. Completely and wonderfully portable.

    It sounds absolutely incredible.

  13. Aimee Mann never sounded so good.

Nervous about tomorrow. Cannot be late. Must be on absolute best behavior. And I hope I don't get called on for anything. lol. Please don't come over to me. So proud of my co-workers. We really work together so well as a big team when it comes down to it. I just want to do my work tho. Yeah, I can totally be a bleacher watcher.

  14. Great to see you, jfaulkin.

Can you believe it's been 5 years? Like Princess Diana's death, I will never forget where I was when I first heard Heath had died. I was in my bedroom and I had my bedroom TV on for some reason. And something caught my ear that made me stare at the screen for a moment and as things moved along, it dawned on me that something terrible had happened.

The images of him being removed from the building were so unreal.

You know, I read an article just the other day that accidental prescription drug deaths have been rising and it's because so many people are unaware of the volatile nature they can have when combined with alcohol or combined with over the counter meds. Terribly tragic stories.

What a gift he was, huh? I loved Brothers Grimm and of course, Brokeback Mountain just about my absolute favorite movie ever.

Only now watched the interview. Actors tell beautiful lies. Lance Armstrong needs a lot more rehearsal.

  16. The Huffington Post UK has a break down of actors who could play Lance in the new movie. Their pros and cons. Christian Bale, Jake, Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender and Matthew McConaughey.

Lance Armstrong Movie: Christian Bale, Jake Gyllenhaal or Matt Daomn to Play Him?

  17. Timing is everything. I think the lance biopic became much more interesting now- but the public will not be in the mood for it for 5 to 10 years. Right now they feel duped. Who wants to see that and have it rubbed in your nose. So possibly good role for an actor some day, but not now.

I can't believe it's been 5 years since Heath's death. Such a tragedy. Hurts still to this day.

Jakes look for the part leaves me cold. Not a flattering look for him. Ang always said he had to be photographed just right to catch his good looks. I like the clean face but not the cigarette. Way to make yourself look haggard and 10 years older.

  18. Jake flaunting the cig smoking, m, reminds me of David Cassidy. Jessica Biel. Donny Osmond.

Entertainers who wanted so badly to shed a certain image, whether it be from a television role or genre of music, they would do something so unlike their previous image in order to prove they could stretch themselves. David Cassidy did his Rolling Stone cover, you know the one. Jessica Biel did the risque magazine cover so that she wouldn't be forever remembered as Mary Camden. And Donny Osmond tried his hardest to be gritty and edgy.

I don't know why but this "look at me, I'm smoking" by Jake reminds me just of these people, lol. It's not cool, it's really pretty uneducated. The smoke threatens the health of people standing next to him. And it ages the skin.

I want to stand on a corner and wail, "But what about the kale, Jake? What about the kale?!"

    ;D

  20. Ah well, there isn't anything anyone can do or say. My big buddy smoked like a chimney. He's on the wagon again, trying to quit. I don't even say anything - they themselves have to want to do it.

Now it becomes clear why these pictures came out though on Just Jared. Because Jake is at Sundance. And where's the Goose???? Hmmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't the Goose is at Sundance. Wasn't filming to start today on Ray Donovan?

  22. With Austin part of a ensemble cast and not one of the major characters, he doesn't film everyday and probably doesn't have to be there the first day of shooting. He more like has only 3 or maybe 4 days of shooting out of a 10-14 day shooting schedule. He could very well be at Sundance.

Remember Austin was discovered at Sundance at the age of 17 after he snuck into a party and his manager saw him.

  23. Yes he could very well be there, just nowhere in the vicinity of the Eccles tonight. LOL

GG most likely isn't at Toothy's side tonight.

He's there to support his Mama. That's why he's at Sundance. Mama.

But that doesn't mean the Goose's Honk can't be heard later tonight.

Could still be some honkin' goin on.
