Could it make its debut in Texas as well?
Don't think it will make the late deadline for next year's Austin Film Festival which is Monday the 15th, unless Austin is doing one heck of a run and gun shooting schedule this weekend, but there are other homegrown options to showcase it.

What I like is how they're all dressed in funeral attire. Not only dressed for a funeral but in the mood for a funeral.

On a more serious note, I will say that Jake can wear all the jewelry in the world that he wants to, but it's not going to protect him from the damage that this has done.

ReplyDeleteYou know, I have spent a fair amount of time in Soho / TriBeCa / Nolita the past few years and I have never seen a pap hanging around waiting for a celeb to just show up so they can get a photo. Not one single time.
Naomi is always along with the beards. For one thing, she probably hand-picks them right? ;) PR thinks (correctly) that Naomi adds legitimacy to the relationship. Remember when Jake brought Taylor home for Thanksgiving after dating for less than a month? There was plenty of "Maggie wouldn't actively participate in his bearding so it must be real!" nonsense. They are pros at this.
This isn't the first time Naomi has met the beard. The weekend after the Page Six story broke about Jalyssa, there was a Vine video of the three of them (plus a guy) posted on twitter, a very short snippet of them waiting outside of Prune for a table. Because when you are valuing your privacy, you take your famous self and your famous Mom and your famous model beard to one of lower Manhattan's hippest weekend brunch spots with the longest wait times, naturally.
So you spent a lot of time in Soho, etc Kismet? When you posted as owl girl I don't recall you mentioning it. And I wish you and other women here would stop calling her the beard. If you can't bring yourself to call her by name try the woman. The former reduces her to a thing and not a person and that is what the rethugs are doing to women in this country, shame on you.

ReplyDeleteBut, I have to disagree with the statement that his mother tagging along makes the relationship more legitimate. If anything, the whole thing smells of another Gyllenhaal orchestrated family affair before he heads out to England. I mean what adult male takes their mom along with them on "dates" when they are 33 years old? The answer is, "Nobody." (Unless they are gay.)
The better questions are why didn't Jake go public with Emily D.? The stories basically reminded everyone that they were never official. And, Gossip Cop made sure to immediately shoot down the fauxmance back in March. Yet, story after story, tweet after tweet, appeared, for a couple of months, telling everyone they were together. Then suddenly, in mid-June, Miller appears from out of nowhere. And, immediately Gossip Cop confirms the pairing and ranks it at a 9 on the rumor barometer. Something happened in May/June to make Jake want to sell this beard. Which means, something is up.

Does Jake Gyllenhaal have a new girlfriend?
Us Weekly says the actor is dating Emily DiDonato, a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model whom he supposedly met in a New York spin class at SoulCycle last fall.
An “insider” tells the magazine the pair have dated for “a month or two.”
Another Us Weekly source explains that Gyllenhaal works out at the location weekly whenever he’s in the city, adding, “He’ll hop on the instructor’s bike. He loves the attention from the girls!”
But while the actor may love to get a spin in, he and DiDonato are not dating.
A source close to Gyllenhaal tells Gossip Cop the story is “not true.”

ReplyDeleteThe difference between Jake and the Beard is that he is being compelled and coerced to do what he is doing in order to work in the kind of movies he wants, and to remain relevant. The Beard chooses to be a fake companion for visibility, money and fame. There is a difference.

ReplyDeleteApril August, no it is not real. Read up on the Hollywood closet and bearding. Some of these actors go as far as to get married to hide their sexuality. A little kissing in a public place to get those tweets out there is all part of selling the relationship.

I'm still right. There is an article just posted four months ago that pretends the dog is her new pet. Even though she has had the dog for nearly two years. That was done on purpose.

ReplyDeleteI find it very odd that for the last 9 to 12 months all we heard about was spin class, then all of a sudden Jake's been doing some other boxing class where he met the new beard, yet no one ever saw him there or mentioned it. Backfilling his history has been a common trait we've seen over the years.
So happy for Austin that he gets to direct and his own script too. So exciting.
