Big Tall and Hairy?

We've talked about a Chewie connection before,  but look who's now talking Chewie

This is how I feel sometimes. - AUS10  - [Check out this clip]

So Austin are you trying to tell us that:

You need a hand?

You forgot to wax?

You're really more a Wookie than Squatchie?

You can get just a wild and wooly as  Jake?

Speaking of Jake - That, that Woolie Wookie's home now?

Or that Chewbacca really is your spirit animal.

  1. Here's the synopsis of the character of Chewbacca on Wikipedia:

Chewbacca, a 200 year old Wookiee, became Han Solo's first mate and companion after Solo, then an Imperial Captain, refused an order to kill him while Chewbacca was a slave of the Empire. Solo was dismissed from the Imperial Navy for disobedience and became a smuggler.

Chewbacca owed a life debt to Han and would protect Han Solo for the rest of his life.

I'm wondering, if Austin is trying to say that Jake was and is being punished for disobeying Hollywood's rules (getting married to a man; raising a family together) and that Austin feels like he owes a lifelong debt to Jake and will protect him (do anything for him) for the rest of his life. If that means posting stupid ice cream Instagrams or showing up for a fake kiss on the red carpet, he'll do it for Jake.

  2. Think I'm tapped out in the sympathy department. It's time to stop the crying and playing the martyr. Simply put, it's time to grow up and do the right thing for the little ones who have no voice.

    Like I've posted before:

  3. And it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, particularly some Joe Schmoe in JoCo Kansas.

It's their life, their decisions. We're just watching.

    And commenting about it. LOL!

  4. Don't get me wrong. I have zilch sympathy for these guys. For the very reasons we have discussed here on innumerable occasions. I was merely throwing up the possibility that this may be what Austin was trying to communicate with his post.

Often people immersed in the choices they've made are the last to see that something is not working. Or, that times have changed and what once seemed like limited possibilities are actually self restrictions.

  5. I think the only thing Jake has been "punished" for is not being able to carry a big, mainstream movie, like POP and LAOD. Throw in Brothers and Zodiac and for awhile there it looked like anything Jake was in was going to do poorly.

  6. Well, Jake used to be the "it" guy in Hollywood in 2005-2006. Yet, after he toyed with coming out during the promotion of Brokeback Mountain during awards season, he quickly fell from grace. Rendition was the best he could do at the time. And, Prince of Persia was the only franchise he could get...only after he agreed to a beard, of course. The rumor was that he was asking for too much money, but I don't believe that for a second. He was being blackballed for thinking about coming out and because of his relationship with Austin and the desire to have children together.

  7. To Destiny, Change is COming, Rendering Valuable Service, and M&M,

...Thanks so much for some very worthy points in terms of Jake, Austin and all the discussion over the past years.

In spite of the varying degrees of belief on what is really going on with Jake and Austin's personal lives together, there is still this very real understanding and belief based on a great deal of observations and much more research than any one person can do on their own.

I agree, Destiny. Some excellent comments, today. And, yes we may quibble about the details, but regulars pretty much agree on the essentials of our main protagonists. Including the eventual fate of WFT, and how Jake and Austin are being left far behind as others fight the fight they avoid, too distracted by shining objects to bother with."

Many of us continue to watch and follow faithfully from the sidelines, with the hope that eventually the truth will set these guys free, and allow far more people to cheer for them in spite of their wayward methods.

    Cheers everyone!

  8. I came across this social media coming out statement on Tumblr today and thought I would share it with everyone. Not only because of the beautifully expressed statement, but because of our current conversations about Jake and Austin.

  9. I had read about Tyler Glenn, but I hadn't read his full statement. It's truly beautiful.

  10. Yeah, I don't know what happened after BBM, sort of forgot about that period. Could have been asking for too much money, bad management, rumors of coming out, or a combination of all three.

I also get the feeling people, at least back then, didn't find Jake very easy to work with, and unlike a lot of actors, until Prisoners and Enemy, he never found himself working for the same director twice.

  11. Just to clarify, personally I still don't think HW cares about Jake's personal life, I think all they cared about was whether he stayed in the closet. Plenty of celebs have relationships they keep hidden from the public.
