Hot Stove ...

In the past the cooking has been done in a bit of an open kitchen, you can see the chef at work, if you want to watch. But it seems now the cooking has been taken to the back of the house. It can get so stifling in such confined space after having so much openness before.

Could all the chatting and comments out front be cranking up the heat? What will happen? If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen? Or will the chef and his goose be cooked?

  2. cdoggray: I have the perfect role for Jake,- The Biography of JFK Jr. He resembles him in many ways. With the right director, I think it would make him into the star he seeks to be. The role is made for him. Any takers?

Looks like you need more extraordinary biography for that – something like "My Left Foot" or "A Beautiful Mind".

  3. So Ted will have Jake scalp, and he can brag that he drag a closeted gay actor out. What's the endgame? Will GLADD give Ted an award for outting a promising young actor. Did Jake not kiss Ted's ring? How does this help anyone?

  11. Reese had to decided to go with Endeavor, and the CAA leaned on Evelyn and Reese flipped management again over to CAA. I think the point Hmmm was trying to make was CAA put the lean on Evelyn then, are they putting the lean on her now with the Jake and Reese thing.

But I want to talk about cooking!

I wonder if Austi will admit he and Jake heat up the kitchen without ever turning on the oven?

  12. I wonder if Jake will be celebrating Thanksgiving with the traditional turkey or goose. ;)

  13. I don't know if anyone is watching "Californication", but there's a CAA joke in the last episode aired in UK... David Duchovny's manager, who is fooling around with his secretary, when Duchovny's character made fun of him, the manager replied, "I am not working in CAA anymore, everybody sleeps with everybody there".

  20. ^^Cute, Spesh, and clever post today. Cute musical "theme" too. ;)

Destiny, I envy you guys so much for going to this, can't wait to hear more.

Didn't get a chance to give my .02 on yesterday's post, I was so happy to see Jake's work in Rendition recognized by Esquire. I was also pleasantly surprised by my SO when he again mentioned how much he liked Zodiac when we were talking about movies the other night. So, his eyes may glaze over when I talk about TT, but we do agree that Jake is a fine actor. You all are right; his films do take more than one viewing to fully grasps the subtleties of his work.

    Have a great holiday, all - :*

Feels like more unsubstantiated, convenient, half-assed spin to me. Kind of like x17online's blatant fabrication about Reeke's whereabouts a few weeks ago (ie. x17 said they were leaving the parents house when they were actually leaving Reese's house).

If they are spending Thanksgiving together then it makes sense because Reese is a friend, and Jake needs friends now.

However, Reeke. Inc. needs a little Thanksgiving pr-spin right now, especially considering Jake's dour mood in LA most the time, and the fact that neither Naomi nor Steven (nor Chris and Maggie for that matter) have been seen with their son for god knows how long.

I think that Jake should spend Thanksgiving with his family of origin, and that Maggie should slap some sense into her little brother.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jake hasn't been spotted with any family in ages if you count Peter.

Maggie and Peter are in Brooklyn I assume and the last spotting of Jake and Reese was the NY Post sighting of them in some Resturaunt in L.A. on the 14th.

    Even Atticus is MIA.

  25. Sibling rivalry, we don't know that Jake wasn't with Maggie last weekend for her birthday. Reese may not have been with them but I would hope that Jake was. Also, Maggie and Peter now live in Brooklyn and they are not papped there. That is probably why there were no birthday sightings of Maggie et al.

How would you know when Jake last saw his family and best friend??? Are you Jake's personal assistant? Are you his shadow? Give me a break. You, like nearly everyone who posts on this blog, know nothing but pretend you're a big insider for some self-aggrandizing reason which only you and a shrink can explain.

As for Jake being in such dire emotional straits, please, I'm sure he's just fine. He's rich, he's handsome, young, has a thriving movie career, an A-list girlfriend and a great future. My best friend's mother was just diagnosed with an inoperable tumor. Docs give her two months at best; my best pal thinks she has two weeks max. Right now, she and her brother are discussing funeral arrangements. THAT, my dear, is a problem. That's a big problem and coming on the heels of the holiday season, it couldn't be more tragic.

    Spare me the Jake nonsense.

  44. Talking about cookin'.

Will Jake be talking about chiles after Brother's wraps? It seems that he likes to cook when he is on location. And about those chiles I think the Texan could take the Calfifornia boy in who can handle the heat. Mo Hotta Mo Betta.

And before anyone gets in a twist it is a saying and a store for chileheads. Go look it up.

    ReplyDelete
  45. SK, maybe he'll be talking about chilies, ya could be right, but then again he seems to have a bit of a timid palate, more into garlic (yuck) than hotness. I wonder if he can stomach CA peppercinis or jalapenos, not to mention the NM hot hot spices? I put cayenne pepper on popcorn and I also eat those long red peppers in Asian kung pao dishes, so that tells you a lot about me. But Jake hates cilantro, I dont get that at all. I wonder about him sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  46. He'll have to make a big decision: green chiles or red.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jake seems to lean more European flavors and prep to his food(Italian, French) at least when he is mentions food. But he does like sushi and shashimi and Wasabi ain't too timid. I bet he does Thai, maybe not Thai hot though. But you never know there could be a chilehead hiding in there.

  48. Okay enough cooking chat.. lets take bets, who thinks there's going to be a Reeke sighting before Saturday.

Odds on favourite seems to currently be LA (curtesy of well know tipster the Huffinton post), yesterday's tip was Hawaii.

Anyone have any other insider info they wish to share.

100/1 shot, Austin and Jake courtside at the Lakers (wouldn't that be a dream come true).

    ReplyDelete
  49. Somewhere exotic. Huff Post wasn't inside.

Talking of Lakers, is anyone keeping an eye on the fixtures? Worst case would be Reeke at Lakers, though comparisons would be made. I don't think J&A will be seen again on their own at Lakers.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Although I'm very forgiving of Jake's recent misdemeanors, a Reeke at Lakers shot would be 'THE' deal breaker.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've just checked on ihj and the last Austin and Jake to the Lakers photos were on 21st November 2006. Halcyon days indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  52. it's a bit old fastion too... so an older divorcee is better than a wild child, in the eyes of a mother?

Well I totally hate Reeke and I think it is fabricated, but speaking as a mother I would sure prefer a quieter and more mature person over a drug addict. Even with a divorce. People divorce all the time for so many reason, and I don't see why it should make Reese specifically a 2nd class person, along with having two kids. I understand not liking her and her association with Jake but being offensive over a divorced mother of 2 is a bit too much.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ladbrokes, those pics came out right before Thanksgiving. Something to be thankful for indeed!

  54. Nothing in new Ted about Jake.

But I smiled at the charm and wit under pressure of NPH.

Ted talking about Victoria Secret show:

Neil Patrick Harris, on the other hand, said he’s strictly a briefs man, because he needs “support.” One forgetful reporter next to us asked Neil if he was more of a boobs or butt guy. Um, did she forget about his big coming-out cover via People mag?

“I’d say butt,” he answered with a semistraight face. Like, duh!

    ReplyDelete
  55. sorry "too much", maybe that didn't come out right. i was only mocking that blogger making the assumption that jake's mom would welcome Reese more because KD being a wild child.

actually no mother should make judgement over a party girl or a divorcee, it's her children's business.

    ReplyDelete
  56. A couple of bucks and a piece of gum says there'll be some Jeese on or around Thanksgiving. That's all I want to put on it. I'm having more fun imagining Jake dancing to Elvis Costello!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I wouldnt be surprised if the G family was already somewhere (Hawaii?)for TG, with maybe Maggie and peter getting married? Maybe reeke will be there, nothing surprises me anymore. Im starting get way over Jake. Brothers starts filmimg on 11-27 Tuesday, maybe him being busy and not seeing him for a while will be a good thing. hes starting to get tired and predictible, and not really pretty to look at anymore in any pap pics, alone or with reeke. Always strained or miserable or sick or in a costume mask or with a tentative, posed, temporary smile. Not the Jake I like to see.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Actually, let me amend that to Jake and Austin dancing to Elvis Costello. While in the kitchen waiting for something to come to the boil or reach that perfect, golden brown. Because you know they dance in the kitchen, whomever's kitchen they might be in. :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. And making the desserts, whipping up the cream, and fighting over who gets to lick the......bowl lol.

    ReplyDelete
  60. maybe Maggie and peter getting married?

Several times in recent interviews, Jake has stated specifically that Maggie and Peter are married. I remember specifically when he was on Ellen, she put up a picture of Jake, Maggie, and Peter and Jake said, "They're married." It struck me because I remember Maggie saying in an interview that she wanted to have a big, fairytale wedding. If she and Peter are already married, it must have been pretty low-key.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ive noticed that too, Wicked. But i always figured them saying they were married was a matter of speech/mindset more than anything, since you'd think it would have been noticed if an actual wedding took place. And yeah a lot of them want the big to-do until the baby arrives, then its like, "lets just do it the quickest way and get it over with." Unless they'vve decided not to do it at all, or not to stay together forever either.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Here's hoping that Destiny is presently busy writing a lonnnnnng report about her night and viewing. ;)

Wouldn't be surprised to see an "all-together-now" family pic for Thanksgiving, complete with you-know-who. Guess I'm like Happy Jake on this: nothing surprises me anymore.

So in that kindred spirit I'll up the ante and had a generous piece of tofu turkey to the bltb's dough and gum. :D :D :D :D

  70. Ok, can I have half of that piece of gum back? I'm suddenly peckish. I actually guffawed at the notion that Jake might have proposed to Reese. If that's the case - and my god, we might as well be in the twilight zone - then that is the final straw for me. I can't even say how that would effect my love and support of his career, never mind him as a person.

Frenchy, I immediately bought the bare bones Zodiac as soon as it came out; I didn't want to live without it all these months (I tend to conveniently forget what I've spent on wanted items after I own them, it seems to work well for me, haha). If you love the movie, I think you'll be glad to have it, even with the special edition not far away. But that's just me. :)

  73. Hey guys, crazy day at work so this is this first chance I've had to post. I though that article on Reese and CAA was very interesting, and I can't help but wonder if it ties in somehow to what has been going on.

As for Zodiac, as the articles said, there was not a lot added to the film, only 7 minutes (I thought that the original version had been more like 20 minutes longer). It's not like with some director's cuts where you see a real difference. The print they showed was really beautiful. I still think it is just about the best thing I've seen this year.

Fincher talked for about 45 minutes, and a lot of it was about the techical end/working with digital vs film. I can't believe Defamer covered it, of course that quote made me immediately think of Jake. The only other time he really talked about the actors was to discuss how much direction he gave to the actors. He said he gave the most to RDJ, that because he (Fincher) had journalists in his family, he wanted to be sure RDJ got it down the way he thought it should be. Also, that despite the Haight, etc., that S.F. was still pretty conservative at the time, especially news rooms, where he said probably most of the reporters at the time would've sported Nixon buttons.

He said Ruffalo spent a few days with the real cop and that he really did almost transform into him. Fincher almost seemed in awe of his performance. He said that it was difficult to really understand or get a feel for what Graysmith was like when he was in his early 20s, and that basically he didn't give Jake any direction as to how to play him.

He said he had a great casting director and that they got lucky with how good all of the actors in the minor roles were.

In addition to the technical aspects, he talked some about the music. He said originally he didn't plan on having a score, but decided that it need something to tie together the passage of time. And as one of the articles mentioned, he spent a fair amount of time talking about how the Zodiac story interested him and was part of his life growing up in S.F.

He talked briefly about Torso. He said the focus of it was not going to be the serial murders, but rather the kind of person Ness really was, some of the awful things he did. He didn't talk at all about when he'd be doing it or who'd be in it.

  78. Destiny, thanks for the report. I have mixed feelings about Fincher though. Sure he's an artist, but I think he has a sadistic side to him in acquiring his art, i.e. gleaning performances from the actors. Not sure if I agree with his methods. :(

I guess that the quaaludes are flowing freely at FCC.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I dont think the next question was a hint of a proposal. It was meant to be "why the hell are you bearding", a question Ted can't answer. Noone can figure that one out. Even if it was 1mil in compensation as someone hinted.

    ReplyDelete
  84. It was meant to be "why the hell are you bearding", a question Ted can't answer."

I agree. That was the first thing I thought of when I read Ted's response to the reader.

    ReplyDelete
  85. "It was meant to be "why the hell are you bearding", a question Ted can't answer."

Reasons why bearding makes sense to Jake now :

    1. His emotional support system (immediate family, Chris, Austin (friendship or whatever) might be unreliable.

    2. He's estranged from the gay community over the JJ faux outing / Ted - babytile, domesticated boyfriend fiasco

    3. He's been given an ultimatum by the Dreamworks people (butch up, get rid of the gay rumors, or no movie deal)

    4. He's tired of being lonely, but he also doesn't want to ruin his chances at A-list success. He has two options : be celibate/ascetic (he already admitted to this) or take what's offered. He's opted for the latter. It's not what he wants, but its better than being alone, because he clearly can't love who he wants to love, how he wants to love or where he wants to love.

    5. He's genuinely devastated about Rendition's poor box office performance, and Reese offered emotional support during a time of need.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Gosh, piers, I don't think it's nearly so complicated. Austin looks and sounds happy as a sandboy, so I'm guessing this is a mutual decision to take the heat off them and focus on work rather than gossip. It's already evident that Reeke is not that interesting, even to most JiS advocates.

I'd say the ascetic reference was, like most of that interview, Jake free associating on the topic of beards - the whole interview had a running beards (not bearding) theme. I think he was joking.

    Ted *does* mean bearding, though.

Jake Gyllenhaal was dining with his family over the weekend at Ammo. Jack Nasty was decked out in a grey t-shirt and jeans and was sporting a slight stubble. 92. who'sthat it appears Brandon Routh hasn't dropped out. I think there was just a lot of rescheduling going on and his name dropped off the IMDB cast list whilst Brad Renfro's name appeared all at the same time.

Apparently Brad is also in the movie but playing a different part.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Austin said in the last interview he was on his way to Uruguay this past weekend.

According to the Uruguayan newspaper, they started filming in ‘Punta del Este’ yesterday. It doesn’t say anything specific about Austin. They only mention actress Amber Heard in the article.

The Uruguayan newspaper reported a while ago that according to sources in the production of ‘The informers’ Brandon Routh was no longer in the movie because his character (the vampire) was cut out. They also said that Brad Renfro filmed his scenes with Mickey Rourke (the kidnapper) in Montevideo last week.

  95. Better than a full beard.

  96. Nice to hear he had dinner with family:) Glad he`s not only spending time with Reese. I also think Ted meant bearding and not marriage. Hoping for some photos of a blond Austin soon. Wonder how he`ll look.
