You do such a fabulous job of coordinating the music to your posts. I dont know how you do it, but great work.
My copy of Maurice arrived last evening so that will be my weekend read. I'm curious to see how close the movie followed the book, and if anything more is revealed in the book.

I tend to find a song that I want to play and then try and do a post that goes with it. I think Spesh comes up with the post first and then finds a song that works. Either way tends to work out though. It also helps that both of us are constantly finding new music. This is my new favorite song right now. For this post I heard this song and then suggested to Spesh to do a post with the guys and books.
The post and the music tend to find it each other for me. It is almost a cosmic thing. Right now I have about 12 posts that are rolling around in my head that have songs with them all ready, but are just waiting for the right time for them. Right there with my internal jukebox that pops songs from everywhere in my head.
Sometimes I find the song first, sometimes I think of the post first, and sometimes the song finds me. The Pickle song was truly a song that found me, and I have to say was somewhat inspiring as I almost fell off the bed when I first heard it. It started there. I think I waited about a month to post that one.
Sometime I have a post in mind and I am narrowing down between a couple of songs that I think could work and just feel it out when I post.
"While reporting an article on celebrity restaurants for Variety's upcoming Inside L.A. issue, I thought I should check out a slew of reports in late April that foodie Jake Gyllenhaal, who seems to spend most of his time in L.A. grazing at Joan's on Third and M Cafe de Chaya, was planning on opening an organic restaurant. The reports had him shopping for locations to go into business with his friend Chris Fischer, a chef at Babbo in New York, and even researching menu ideas on a bike trip of Tuscany with Reese Witherspoon. But his publicist Mara Buxbaum says there's absolutely nothing to that report, which was completely false. Ok, thanks for clearing that up, but if he changes his mind, can I come to the opening party, please?"
Thats interesting that you have music floating around in your head Special. You post such a wide range of music I can't imagine how you keep track of it all : )
"But his publicist Mara Buxbaum says there's absolutely nothing to that report, which was completely false. "
Aww, I love this post, and this song - beautiful, Spesh and Wicked!
TDAT is on telly here at the moment - Jake has just been leaping over cars with Austin looking concerned. I sort of find it even more special than BBM these days, I expect because it's real.
Defamer is calling Lohan the new gay hero for not shying away from her relationship. "Here's what's cool: Lohan has been entirely matter-of-fact about the whole affair. She's continued to appear in public with her rumored lover. There has been no moaning from her about private-life intrusion from the media, and no cries from her cougar mom to Leave Lindsey ALONE!"
" From IHJ, a new video of Jake speaking on behalf of New Eyes For the Needy."
He said more about a charity in one short video spot than he's said about his embarassing fauxmance, or for that matter anything else, for eight months. New Eyes for the Needy? How about 'new integrity for the desperate'..
Whilst I think it's great that Lindsay Lohan hasn't jumped at the chance to declare herself straight, her reps have denied it and so has Sam Ronson. So they aren't really doing anything different than any other rumoured same sex couple in HW.
Except I don't think they actually are a couple. I think they are two close friends who get some side benefits.
I also think Lindsay would root anything that moved.
She lives by the adage that being talked about is better than people not knowing who you are.
So I think it's a bit rich to hold her up as some sort of paragon of same sex acceptance.
Perfection in a post - instant classic is right!
ReplyDeleteAnd My Morning Jacket is one of my very favorite bands. Thanks! :)

Love that song too. Some sort of JFC feel to it. The simple, easy-going style maybe?
Have to say I'm also in awe of the perfect matches you girls come up with each and every single day.
And hurrah for Norway. Welcome to the club guys! :)
