Music Man

He's said that the "kid" can sing, and sure he has heard Jake many times. From Jimmy Kimmel, know that the he rocked show choir. They both love music and have been out to catch some shows. Jake has talked of drums in the past and a brief bit of band past, but what about Austin? Do you think he's gotta some more musician in him than just singing? Past band geek? Or garage band? A lead guitar? Or funky bass man? Alternative? Rock? Texas Blues?

Rock Band or Guitar Hero must be sitting on the shelf always ready to play. Somehow you can picture them and friends rocking out on the X box. Makes you wonder what songs get picked. But can totally picture the hilarity of Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper as they try to give it more cowbell like Will Ferrell. And forget about it there is definitely some karaoke in the past present and future, without a doubt.

One thing is certain is that this duet makes beautiful music.

  2. Reese was listed as #60 on the Forbes top 100 celebrites. Their blurb about her is interesting in light of how much some people are praising her charity work:

    #60 Reese Witherspoon
Witherspoon will star in the big-budget comedy Four Christmases this winter. She also landed an estimated $30 million, three-year contract to pitch Avon cosmetics.

  3. Gold, Jake doesn't owe you any explanations or comment about his relationships. At all. He is still allowed to be appreciated when he does do something worthwhile like the video. Frankly, I question your desperation and definitely your integrity.

M, how do you know Austin or Jake wanted what is happening with Lindsey and Sam? I don't see Lindsey doing anything for gay support or gay rights here. I see her wanting attention. Plus, Sam has denied anything is going on a few times.

  4. If Daddy came home with his big long sliding thing, a duet would be very appropriate.
    Like this one.
Now, Frenchy should provide us with the appropriate translation. I could, but then I want to give her a hard time. :)
And SpecialK, the nice lady - wearing pink glasses and strumming the piano keys in these early hours... you will have us blushing and then going all dizzy.

  5. ^^You guys are funny - great song! :)

  6. Lady? You call me a lady. Now that makes me laugh.

  7. BTW good to see you again Rattler. It's been a bit.

  8. Thanks Rattler - I could never stand that Je t'aime song - I hope I won't have that song in my head all day! :)

  9. Forgot to add - what a nice PSA from Jake. He's got such a lovely sincerity and earnestness about him. The fact that his beautiful eyes need correction makes them even more beautiful. :)

Wow, yay for the Celtics. I hope we're not gonna be in for it on Sunday night.

Nope, I'm sorry to say that Je T'aime wasn't the song that's gonna be in my head all day, and that I've been singing, it's that Big, Long Slidin' Thing. LOL

  10. Spesh is bad! :) The Mrs. and I are out of town at the beach with the dogs for a few days. Limited internet access, so I will not be around too much. Tink has already been in the water.

  11. I see the "how do you know" commenter has found his way here. Used to roam WFT all the time with that same lame argument.

Another bulls eye on the music selection. Austin has a beatuiful voice for those that saw a clip of him singing in high school when he did an interview with Tony Danza. A rich, warm tone to it. I dont recall him ever mentioning playing an instrument, but I bet he likes to play Jake's harmonica.

  12. That was me at 11:01. Could have sworn I addded my name but in a hurry I guess.

Silly Silver can't stand anyone questioning Jake's integrity.

  15. Hi all - I really appreciate all the stories and chat here but haven't posted much. I have a question you might be able to help me with: is there an e-mail address for wft2? thx & hugz!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Sad that posts here are about other blogs when Special and Wicked work so hard.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Huh? Why can't somebody ask a question about another blog? OMG does link to WFT2.

    ReplyDelete
  18. We don't have a problems about people asking about other blogs especially ones that we link to.

We hope that people enjoy all the blogs that we have linked to and they like to come to ours and join in just as much.

  19. Sorry, it was a special time-urgent request! Thanks for the info.

Wicked and K thanks for all you do. And Nouskie, I made the big time over at wft2! :D :D

  20. What I meant was people run to other places to post and not here. If I were Wicked and Special I would be pissed. OMG has new stuff every damn day, and not cut and paste it from somewhere else. Why do you go post other places and not here?

  21. Everytime I see that last picture of A I like it more. Where the heck is he? I wish Ted would mention the Grey Goose to let us know if he is still a part of Jake's life.

  22. Please do not feed the trolls. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! :)

  23. Feel bad, I didn't go there to post (or to fisch!). I was just curious who was posting about me! Check it out if you're interested. I think it's hilarious and it has my approval :D

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love this picture too. Tom, if Ted doesn't mention a change I still believe :)

    montagne, now I'm intrigued ...

Thanks for the great post and song, Spesh! And happy hols to Wicked!

  25. I see Austin as a bit of a hip-hop lad :D

  26. We try to do our own thing here at OMG. The one thing that we do want it to be is a community and a big part of that getting people to interact and comment. So we love comments. Love when people talk to each other. Love Love Love!

For me, I just keep focused on doing something that I like and think people want. There is a lot of different ways to approach anything, that's what keeps the world an interesting place. I try not to compare us to anyone else, because why worry about that stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  27. But I don't see any trolls here, right?

  28. I am intrigued by Austin's musical tastes. I remember his Ipod playlist from when he was shooting Glory Road. He had The Kinks' Waterloo Sunset on there and Sgt. Barry Sadler's Ballad of the Green Beret on there, talk about divergent. I think music plays a big part in him getting his character together. Makes you wonder what his JFC playlist was like.

I think he and Jake bothlike Hip Hop. Makes you wonder why Jake play Fifty Cent's Candy Shop so much. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  29. All his Glory Road list was in keeping with the era of the film - I thought that was sweet :)

  30. That's what I thought too London.

I think that's why he uses music to help get him into character.

  33. One of the most respected U.S. political television journalist Tim Russert, 58, had a heart attack and died while working at Washington,DC bureau chief.

  34. "It's a good thing Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon are tied at the hip—otherwise, Billy Crystal's commentary on the new collector's edition of City Slickers might raise some eyebrows..." Jake Sang Showtunes for Cowboys

The stuff from EW, E runs on the same day as Reese & Ryan's divorce becomes final. Huh.

    Tied at the hip? When?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thats so sad about Tim Russert. He was well respected in his field. I always enjoyed watching him on sundays because he always seemed so prepared. I have to say I learned alot from watching Meet The Press.

    sad day : (

  36. Why do you go post other places and not here?

Feel Bad, try posting a line in support of Jake (no, I don't recommend it). The number of comments will increase by 50 percent.

  37. Feel Bad, try posting a line in support of Jake (no, I don't recommend it). The number of comments will increase by 50 percent.

    Now that makes me sad.

I don't agree with all the decisions Jake has made. But I still support him and believe he and Austin are together.

He is a excellent actor who continues to explore new roles and opportunities.

The new video for the New Eyes for the Needy is a great cause and little gift at the same time. It has been so long since we have heard Jake, not heard from him through someone else, or hear little bites with the paps. And the silence that comes just from pictures takes so much of the good things about Jake away from him. A lot of Jake's charm and magic is how he communicates and interacts with friends family and those he speaks with, his animation, quirky enthusiasm, wit and flirtatiousness draws people to him. Hopefully we will get to see that more soon.

  38. Back to Music

I can totally see Jake dorking out doing the Will Ferrell cowbell to Don't Fear the Reaper.

And come on those two have musically past that includes New Kids on the Block. Bet you big buck they both know Hanging Touch. And forget about it .... Marky Mark and Funky Bunch too.

What about Karaoke? Between the two of them I'm sure they've covered just about everything. Showtunes, Classics, 80's, hair bands, and Hip Hop.

Now revenge karaoke, songs to make them sing - see that's where the fun would be.

    ReplyDelete
  39. ^^Now that I would love to see. I felt the same as you, the PSA was a little gift, since we haven't seen and heard Jake.

So sorry to hear about Tim Russert. :(

  40. Big long sliding thing huh, what've you been telling them J? ; )

  41. ^^Who's your Daddy, baby. Just wait till I get back. ;)
