It was really nice to see all the tributes to Mr. Newman. He was a little bit before my time so I don't know too much about him but it seems like most people see him as a really great person as well as a good actor.
My heart goes out to him and his family.
I love the Paul Newman pretzels! All the proceeds from Newman's Own go to charity, I think.

Paul Newmans' Hud came out right around the time I was hitting puberty. That shot of him used for the movie promo led to my first ever lightning bolt of lust, so I have very fond memories of him. I've often thought that Jack leaning against the truck in BBM in a similar pose reawakened the teenager in me as BBM definitely jump started my aging libido.

I've been observing the ongoing slow-coming-out of a same-sex couple, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, for some time now (see link below). For some reason, this makes me kind of sad, because I look at these brave girls and how happy they look these days, not hiding a thing, and I think that, given a bit more spine and hope, Jake and Austin could have been like them, instead of enmeshed in this incredibly depressing (there's no other word for it) bearding arrangement.
(And no, I don't think it's easier for lesbians than gay men in Hollywood. Straight men perving over your relationship does not equal approval.

I worry about Lindsay and Sam and why they are together. I've heard that Sam is a dealer/heavy drug user and wonder if this is why Lindsay is into her. I hope I'm wrong or that this is in the past. I also worry that Sam made no attempt to shield an obviously passed out Lindsay from paparazzi a while back. Sam was looking directly at the camera in the shots, so she knew the paps were there. I worry Sam is in this for the publicity. Maybe they have worked through some stuff. I hope they have. I like that they are just going around living their lives and don't feel they need to make a big announcement. Who you are is shown more in what you do than what you say anyway.

How do I describe this guy? B list actor with a name that seems to cause some confusion. Very little television. Nope this guy is all about films. Big films, Top grossing films, independent films. Great actor but also underrated. Award winning but nothing big. On the set of his newest film he had a little thing going with a co-star. Nothing too blind-itemish about that. The co-star is married so that adds a little spice, but what really makes it blind worthy is the fact that this married B+ list co-star with A name recognition is a guy.

Because the f word is not considered that bad by so many. If it had been the n word, it would have been a completely different story.
How young was Shia? Hopefully it was from a time when he didn't know any better, like a lot of kids, and he's learned and grown up since, and is sincerely sorry for what he said.
The sad part is, that kind of behavior is commonplace among young men. Shia shouldn't be singled out because now he's famous. The "f" word needs to be made as unacceptable as the "n" word, and that starts with society at large, in the home, and how boys are raised. The adults have allowed it. If you hear young boys talking like this, correct them. I don't know if young girls behave the same way or not?

I also believe that Shia so far is getting off easy. If he was a good guy he would apologise himself publicly. That was only a couple years ago. He is now a very public figure and if he cares about how people perceive him he should apologise. I hope he does.

About Shia using f word....or anyone using any descriptive group words....ever noticed how groups can use their own words to describe themselves but thres hell to pay if anyone else uses them? My gay buddies call each other all the derogatory names in affectionate fun, just like how its "okay" for an ethnic group to call each other their names.
