You can always bring me out of the woodwork with pics of our Laker boys. Wow, no comparison with Zac and Leo (can you say "distance"?), and I love the two funny guys laffin' at life too. I love Adam and I adore Kevin James, my King of Queens. Funny is hot. :)
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, my dinner came out fine, no cooking disastahs at all, but the cleanup, oh boy. I just recovered yesterday, and I try to avoid shopping the day after if I can help it! ;) I may venture out to the malls today, when it's a bit safer to do so, and then treat myself to Australia afterwards.
Have a great Saturday all - love, love today's song.
I really like the song too, and the title cracks me up.
I just now caught up on yesterday's posts. I agree with a lot of the things Schadenfreudelocious said, those are things I think about a lot when I think about Baby Tile, Austin, and the whole Reeke mess.
I saw Milk yesterday. It is wonderful! I'd long forgotten so many of the political details, which I found fascinating, and the parallels between Prop. 8 and what was going on back in the 70s with basic civil rights like freedom from job discrimination is eery. The defeats back then fueled the movement, which I think is happening now with Prop. 8, so despite what happens to Milk the movie is full of optimism too.
Also full of great performances. I loved Franco, and he is so hot in the early scenes when he has long hair and hippy clothes. Penn's performance is a given, I also loved Emile Hirsh and D. Luna, and J. Brolin does a good job with Dan White.
Loved the way the film really captured the look and feel of the 70s too. It's everything I hoped it would be and then some.
I can't wait to see Milk either. I've forgotten a lot of the details too, and want to remember them. I want to see it with my hub tho, when he gets back from CA, (he's originally from the Bay Area), so we can discuss it. Today I think is just pure escapism for me (with a little history, nothing is really pure escapism for me lol). Both Milk and Australia are two of my must-sees.
Destiny I can't wait to see Milk. I will be seeing it next Saturday. I have not been this excited about a movie since Brokeback. Which makes it even more exciting for me is that it is directed by an openly gay man Gus Van Sant. Gus is very talented and has been nominated for an Oscar previously. Good Will Hunting was one of my favorites.
Special there is some space between Leo and Zac but I am not so sure what is up with those two. Always have thought that Leo is NCS and Zac he is too damn pretty to be str8.
So happy to hear Milk was sold out somewhere. Course it's still only in a limited number of theatres. Harvey moved to SF in 1972, the same year I did. I was just growing into adulthood and the environment over the next few years was exhilirating. I look forward to seeing that depicted. Also, I watched Into the Wild last night. Screenplay by Penn and directed by Penn. A superlative movie, though a sad ending.
Also pleased to see the Lakers pic comparison. I can never get enough of that picture. Funnny that we often see 2 guys side by side there but no gay rumors result. What was different with J&A? Body contact shoulder to ankle and eye contact. Watch straight guys talk to each other. Most of the time they avert their eyes or keep glances at each other to a minimum.
Into The Wild was one of my favorite movies of 2007, right up there with Zodiac.
I don't think Leo or Zac are completely straight either, but it is funny how you almost drive a truck through them. Is it just because they're just friends (I'm assuming), or were they also worried on top of that? And aren't there Laker pictures of Chace and Taylor Kitsch, or was that a hockey game--although not on the floor.
For those who like this song, do yourselves a favor and get the whole record. Absolutely stellar throughout.
Re the success of 4 Xmases- good box office does not make a good movie. People are more than willing to shell out $ to see movies that suck. I haven't seen this movie so I don't know how good it is, but based on the previews and reviews that I have seen, this movie does not look terribly good to me. Reese is a consummate professional for promoting this movie. Vince is acting like an ass (well maybe he's not acting!) by not promoting it. If it's your movie you have to promote it. I agree that it will be remembered that Reese went out there and did her job like a pro while Vince bailed. I can't imagine it won't help her and hurt him in the long run.
M, Into the Wild is one of the fillm I regrettably didn't have a chance to see. I look forward to seeing it on DVD. Also I should clarify, I normally love Adam Sandler and Kevin James, but their latest collaboration, Chuck and Larry, I didn't see because I frankly thought it might be disrespectful. It just didn't sound like something that would be amusing to me. Perhaps I was wrong and have no sense of humor? They make a cute couple tho. :)
I agree that it will be remembered that Reese went out there and did her job like a pro while Vince bailed.
Not by the 4C public.
Vince is more popular and has better box office returns than Reese, but I don't think his public cares too much about TV interviews and red carpet photos.
I agree Wicked reese is coming across as the good guy here doing her job by promoting the movie. Vince does look like a jerk but you got to ask your why. I dont much about Vince but maybe Jakeys lady love(yeah right) really p*ssed him off.
Most of the press duties are hammered out long before the movie starts filming. Studio marketing and distribution departments are huge. Who will be interviewed and when and when each clip airs is not left to chance and certainly not decided at the last minute. Reese probably agreed up front to do the brunt of the press and negotiated a bigger back end deal as a result. Vince hates that part of the job and was probably willing to pay someone else to do it. To say that Hollywood will notice her professionalism and reward her accordingly is naive and demonstrates a lack of understanding of the industry. Reese is well known as a work horse when it comes to press. No one would expect any less of her. It is one of the reasons studios like to work with her but if a director came along and wanted Renee Zellweger who is terrible at press they wouldn't make the director or producer hire Reese instead.
Wild West Productions (Vince's) is the company that pulled 4C's together. They are the main production company on the project. Do not assume that Reese has an equal partnership in this deal. Her exec. producer credit (Type A) more likely a part of her negotiated contract because she need to get some projects for Type A that went to screen. She had previous bailed on a project call Bunny Lake is Missing.
Other Type A productions that she is supposed to have in development and to star in but have yet to see or hear about. (These have been mention since early 2007)
- Midnight - a remake of the the Claudette Colbert movie about a poor woman in Paris who becomes a pawn when a wealthy man tries to get rid of the gigolo wooing his wife. There have been no details about it revealed only most likely that Reese will play the role of the the paw. The is no information on production schedule.
Sammy - with Lars Hallstrom directing - was supposed to be out in 2008, and now has date of 2011 - but no other information on the production is available.
Another Type A project with Reese set was to star in a horror for Universal called Our Family Trouble. It was slated in for 2009 and is still in development.
Type A and Reese needed a movie and she negotiated the deal with Wild West. It was smart on paper for Wild West - but its another thing on the set. If Vince is in charge of the whole thing - he can say he is not going to do PR and let Reese shoulder it. Also it has been said that she refused to do PR if he is involved. He needed Reese to do PR to get women in to see a goofy Christmas movie, since he didn't bring people in with Fred Clause. He looked at his company bottom line and saw it was a win win. He got PR, he his company was going to recoup their investment in the film, and he didn't have to deal with her.
Vince V had a part in Into The Wild as well. A serious role, not comedic. He did a good job.
Taylor Kitsch and Chace Crawford? I'd like to see that. Taylor is terrific. What a body and he can act too. One of my other favorites besides Jake, Austin and Joe Gordon Levitt.
"Also it has been said that she refused to do PR if he is involved."
The only place I've seen that said is here, and the only person I saw say it is m.
Either way, it's worked out very nicely for Reese. She put herself out there and instead of being the face of a bomb, it's looking like she might have the No1 movie this weekend, as 4 Christmases BO went up another 50% on Friday. Quite incredible considering there are other family films out with MUCH better review scores.
Oh, and Spyglass Entertainment are the main producers of 4 Christmases. The only project that Wild West have been the main producers on was "Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland" which made an abysmal $600 000 at the BO. It's also Vince Vaughn's biggest hit as the sole name above the title. Ouch
But anyway, does anyone want to talk about Austin and Jake? Is OTH a long term thing for Austin? I'm not sure he would commit to something like that with a baby at home and a partner that may be away for long periods. Do you think the producers of OTH knew about Baby Tile before they signed Austin? If they did, maybe he feels comfortable working there, like he's amongst friends in a safe environment.
Do you think Jake and Autsin have a plan for coming out? I would have thought they must have, because you wouldn't bring a child into this world with your gay partner if you were going to stay in the closet, but then what's the deal with Disney? If Jake and Austin are an open secret in Hollywood, and anyone can read Ted's blind items, they must have known about Baby Tile BEFORE signing Jake on for Prince of Persia, right? And this is going to be a major franchise for them, so they have to know he's going to come out at some point during the production of one of these films.
So are Disney just getting him to beard for the first film, and then afterwards he'll have the all clear to come out? Or could Jake be seriously thinking about not coming out for the next 5-6 years? How would Austin feel about that? Is that really possible? Baby Tile could be maybe 6 or 7 years old by then. It doesn't seem possible that Jake would still be hiding his partner and his child by that time. I don't believe Austin would stand for that.
Hello everyone! Getting ready to head over to the folks' to see the kids. Spent today with our brother & sister in law, taking them to Dean & Duluca. Has anyone ever been to one of those? Deadly. They love going there now whenever they come up. Also took them to Crate & Barrel, another favorite place.
Oh boy. Just turned on the TV for a few seconds to see what was on, scrolling up the gamut of limited basic channels, lol, and criminetleys, guess what E! has now. One of those celebrity spotlights, up close & personals on Reese. I turned it on just at the point in her life where her & Ryan's divorce went through and they discussed her & Jake. How they acted like nothing was going on during the promotion of Rendition and then how they came out, traveling to Paris & Rome, etc. They had several video footage of them appearing together during film promo and their vacation travels. They talked to a journalist with the Wall Street Journal, I think she was with, on their now open relationship. It was rather shocking to see it on one of those type of shows. Seems like it's all kind of out & official now.
They also talked with 3 of her 4C's co-stars, who had glowing remarks to make about her. Course, nothing from Vince, lol.
I don't have any real opinion on Vince & his non-publicity comments/appearance on the movie. I don't know anything about him. I don't know whether that many people are really going to notice who's out promoting it or not. Normally, someone like myself doesn't notice stuff like that. I'm not one to ever watch Dave L, Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, etc. I don't stay up that late, watching TV anyway. I don't pay alot of attention to what guest stars are promoting what movies. The only reason I am paying attention on 4C's is strictly because of Reese's tie to Jake. That's it. Otherwise, I wouldn't give a flip. I can also tell you that no one in my immediate work circle notices or gives a rat's you-know-what on movies & promo work/appearances either. They go watch a TV series, movie/rent a movie and that's it. Only if you're closely following the stars of that film or TV show, do you dissect this kind of stuff. And so I guess that's why Reeke works for them. Because of people like me & those I work with/am friends with. Unless you spend time on the internet, studying pictures, dissecting, and whatnot, you're not going to really see what lies beneath the surface. You only see what is spoonfed to you. For the everyday, casual observer, Jake & Reese seem for real. And that's all they need to have believed.
But I don't know how you face up to your peers in Hollywood. You can't tell me their peers in Hollywood don't know differently. At my place of work, it takes the quiet discussions over lunch, over a guardrail, on a break, in an office setting/warehouse/plant floor away from higher ups' presence, to get the real stories behind things. Because if it were up to upper brass, alot of us minions wouldn't know the real deal. But there's always going to be someone in the know. Someone who has witnessed/heard the real truth about someone or situation. And it will be shared among the minions. And it will become common knowledge, even though you don't share it with an upper brass. There's just this unwritten unity & communication amongst the "worker ants" and sometimes lower/middle management as well. And I'm sure there are upper management level people here on this blog. I don't say it as a real comedown. It's just the way it is. Just like there's a line between salary and union, there's a line between upper/middle management and regular salary/hourly workers. People are more aware of things than given credit for. They keep each other informed.
So you can't tell me this doesn't happen everywhere else and that includes Hollywood. So how do Jake & Reese fake it amongst their peers? That's what I'd like to know. How do you carry on in the company of others if what you're doing is not true?
And I'll stand corrected if that's not how it is where you work. Someone tell me differently. That's how it's always been where I've worked and another job long, long ago.
Anyway, sorry for the long post; it got a little more longwinded than I intended. Well, off to see the Wiz- oh, wait, no. Uh, off to see the family. Ciao.
What peers? I mean their fellow actors/actresses. The people whose parties they go to. The friends they go to dinner with. The people whose TV talk shows they appear on. Those are their peers. People their age and/or they work with.
Say, Gwyneth Paltrow, whose party they were spotted going to. And no doubt, there were other people there, don't know from what walk of life. But Jake acted with Gwyneth in Proof. So she is his peer.
"I don't see the need to fake anything - people presume Reeke are together and Reeke are not expected to share any details about their "relationship".' I don't buy that. Jake worked with Gwyneth pre-BBM and she's also 2nd generation HW, so she probably already knew Jake. If Jake was gay she would have known when they were filming together. Unless Jake has always hidden his sexuality and always pretended to be straight to everyone he's ever met, there's no way she wouldn't know.
I don't think people presume Reeke are together, and to read Ted, Data Lounge, etc. everyone knows Jake is gay and with Austin. I think sadly that it is just business as usual in HW, and that as long as you're raking in the money you could be on the tabloid with your girl and going home to a sheep and nobody would care as long as that all important mythical uptight suburban mom didn't find out.
And as long as people don't come out, it's not going to change. One of the things I loved about Milk was seeing a movie about someone who felt that coming out was a big key to winning civil rights. I totally agree with that.
Shaden, I think Austin did OTH because it worked into his schedule, he would be away from LA the same time as Jake, and he'd get to be with a friend, Sophia). I can't see him doing it on a permanent basis. I think at one time they planned to come out, but sadly I think PoP and money changed all that for Jake, and that Austin foolishly went along with it. As for the future, I've given up on trying to predict what they will do. I think there are others who will beat them out of the closet and will do so successfully. My money at the moment is on Franco.
Well so far this London trip has been different for reeke. So far no holding hands, no pda, No frigging coffee. It seems like a business trip for reese and not a lovefest for reeke. Should I hold my breath for the pics and the BS to follow? Or can I take a deep breath and hope the end is near?
NETB, I saw the blurb about Reese refusing to do promo if Vince was involved somewhere on the web. That is where I get all my info as I dont read paper magazines anymore. Cant recall the source since I dont give a hoot about Reese. Most likely defamer or ONTD based on the content.
Hollywood stars know that fakery is the rule, not the exception. That's why everyone loves each other during filming and promo of a movie. Then 5 years later someone writes a tell all about how much they really hated each other. In fact, hasn't R been quoted as saying she thinks Vince is the funniest man alive and she doesn't know how those stories that she hates him got out.
Agree that this is an odd London trip. They have not even been seen together. Just at the same party, but that means nothing. She was there for business. If she did not have xmas promo, would they have even seen each other. Possibly not.
Hollywood knows who Jake's with, Reeke is business. It is what it is in Hollywood, sadly it isn't unique, it's just part of deal. It's like kind of the cool table in junior high, if you're in they don't say anything until you get kick out of sitting there.
Did you see this on IHJ? Sorry if it is old news or if it is too invasive to post but the public nature of this rift between Jake's parents has to be having quite an impact so I thought I would bring it over.
Hi, I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster. Some of you may recognize me as the publisher of Stephen's book of poetry. Normally I wouldn't be putting my two cents in but things are getting out of hand in the press surrounding the Family Gyllenhaal, and in this case I do have some relevant information that I believe fans of Jake deserve.
First of all, you ought to know that, being documents filed with the court, Naomi's divorce petition and her financial declaration are now public record, available for anyone to read, even online. So almost anything I bring up here can be easily corroborated by the official paperwork. Second, I've known Stephen, Jake's father, for three and a half years, and our association has been pretty intimate. I think I understand his mind and heart more than anyone in the world and believe me, neither are easy terrains to explore.
As some of the members of IHeartJake have discovered, Stephen, though usually charming, can occasionally come off as pretty distant, even arrogant. The most damaging example of this was the infamous "Babygate" incident at his poetry reading at the Zinc Bar in New York back in October, 2006, in which he publicly dressed down Ally and the then-co-adminstrator of JakeWatch, Becky. I have to tell you that the true instigator of this whole incident was none other than Jake's mother, Naomi Foner. I cannot express to you the depths of Naomi's contempt and fear--yes, fear--of Jake's fanbase, which includes IHeartJake and the late lamented JakeWatch. Of course her feelings have absolutely no basis in reality, but they exist. Stephen had been quite willing, even thrilled, to share with Jake and Maggie's fans the wonderful news about Ramona's birth, and didn't mind that they shared the news among their online community. But the discovery of Stephen's disclosure absolutely enraged Naomi. Fans who attended that reading might remember Naomi's odd behavior--why, although present in the bar, she refused to enter the reading room.
The explanation: She had ordered (there is no milder word) Stephen to chew out the girls that night, and she showed up toward the end of the reading only to make sure that he had done so.
Stephen, who has spent most of his married life trying to keep the peace in his house, did as he was ordered, although in his defense he attempted to soften the blow by not outright upbraiding Becky and Ally (Naomi would have given them a tongue-lashing within an inch of their lives) but "lecturing" them in what he thought was a helpful, avuncular way. Still, it did come off as pretty condescending and mighty insulting, and some injuries were done that night that haven't quite healed (although much, much later on, Stephen, at my urging, did try to make partial amends).
The anecdote above is just to give you an example of Naomi's tactics. She doesn't confront, she designates. In Hollywood, she's barely tolerated, and then only because she's Jake's mother, a circumstance she continues to shamelessly exploit. She will use anything to hand as a weapon.
For over two years Stephen pleaded with her to sell their luxury home, settle their debts, and move into a cheap apartment where they could live together simply and write the things they really longed to write, regardless of commercial concerns; for two years she refused. Instead, she continued to spend money like water, even blowing thousands of dollars on prestige landscaping on their place on Mulholland Drive, the very place that's now for sale in an extremely bleak seller's market.
If you read her declaration, you'll note the picture she's trying to paint of herself as a poor, tapped-out woman abandoned by a better-resourced husband. Well, here's the skinny. Stephen has no more resources and no better opportunities to create an income from writing than she does. Naomi is an Oscar-nominated screenwriter who's managed to leverage that achievement into getting regular offers of teaching, lecturing and adjudicating gigs. Stephen writes poetry and literary novels, neither of which are likely to bring him fame and riches in Hollywood. Naomi is well aware of this, yet she had the nerve to cite Stephen's book, Claptrap (the book I published), as one of his commercial resources.
From the very first Naomi did her best to obstruct publication of Claptrap. When she failed, when my company did manage to bring out this collection, she refused to acknowledge its existence. Attendees at Stephen's wildly successful reading at Housing Works in June, 2006 will remember that she refused to sit beside him in the front row and refused to remain in the audience while he read, preferring instead to stand in the back with her hen friends from Barnard.
I'm revealing all this at this particular time because the press has been calling out Jake and Maggie--practically condemning them for not helping out their parents. I've known about Stephen's financial troubles from almost the beginning of our relationship, and throughout our relationship he has repeatedly told me that he would rather (his words) "starve in the street than take help from his kids". Stephen has a lot of flaws, but he has integrity, and I admire him for it. His now-notorious statement (a quote directly from a private email he sent Naomi--an email she deliberately admitted into public court documents): "I have been clear that if worse comes to worse, I will let all of this collapse into ruin, just as I believe letting the markets crash and burn is the right approach--pain now for clarity and balance later," while overly dramatic in typical Stephen Gyllenhaal style, is just his way of telling his wife that it would be far, far better to declare bankruptcy and walk away clean rather than to try to keep propping up the false edifice of their glamorous couplehood.
Now the money shot: Do Jake and Maggie know the truth about their parents, their financial and marital troubles? Of course they do. They always have. Look, when people say that they're a close family it's the truth. They are a close family. But close doesn't necessarily mean happy or harmonious, simply that they're attuned to each other's vibes all too well.
And there is real affection among them. I think more than anything else--despite everything else--this is the most evident thing about the Gyllenhaals.
This continues to astound me about JakeWatch. While I'm not at all familiar with what happened there, I caught onto that website in its last couple months, I think. I thought that website was hilarious and harmless. I don't understand what could have been threatening about it and whatever happened, I would hate to think that a website shut down because of outside pressure.
That girl (s) cracked me up something silly. They (she) were hilarious. I mean, it was about socks and Boo and just analyzations of pictures. I don't understand what on earth it could've been intimidated into being shut down about. Isn't this what Free Speech is all about? If I remember right, they never even got one single interview with Jake. They were just fans, weren't they? Do I have that wrong? Like I said, I only caught onto that website in its final days so maybe I'm uninformed. The whole thing is just unfortunate, sounds like.
Anyway, the kids, bro, & sis in law are shipping off tomorrow. And all of a sudden, guys, tomorrow's Sunday and the Big 4 Days Off are about over!!! What in the heck happened? Where did time go? Tree is up and it's lit. But it's prelit, so, lol, that doesn't count. Apartment's a mess. Really not a whole lot accomplished except alot of visiting. The kids helped Grandma & Grandpa decorate their tree. They're good for bending down & decorating those lower branches. Sigh. Ah, to be 9 years old & feel brand new, eh? To get up off the floor without a groan. Lol!
Tom said: Well so far this London trip has been different for reeke. So far no holding hands, no pda, No frigging coffee. It seems like a business trip for reese and not a lovefest for reeke. I know, I'm like you, Tom. This has been different so far. Very strange pictures from that G. Paltrow party. Out of all those, not one of them together. Now I'm sure that could all change tomorrow. And I'm like Destiny. Not even going to try and anticipate what's next. You just don't know.
Man, I just look at some of the past pictures of this guy that I've got saved on my desktop and I look at him lately and I just shake my head. He just looks nothing like he did even 1 year ago.
And even though he's removed from the States, he can read the internet like everybody else and I'm sure he does. He has got to be going through some pain while his parents go through their difficulties. Because not only may he hear some of it on the phone or via text messaging, he sees the stuff dragged out on the internet.
Wow, that "Cantara" sure is a piece of work. I'm not going to assume that she is the real Cantara; I'll just laugh at how she frames her post.
First of all, you ought to know that, being documents filed with the court, Naomi's divorce petition and her financial declaration are now public record, available for anyone to read, even online. So almost anything I bring up here can be easily corroborated by the official paperwork.
Utter rubbish. Pretty much everything that she says cannot be corroborated by official paperwork. Is there official paperwork detailing the seating plans at Stephen's book reading, or the reasons behind it? I'd just love to see how an argument about the revealing of baby names could be "corroborated" by paperwork, or how court documents would confirm that Naomi ordered Stephen to "chew the girls out".
It's all so utterly transparent to anyone with half a brain.
Speaking of which...
Special K, I read your earlier post about the production of Four Christmases and then I read schadenfreudelocious completely tear it to pieces, and I note that you have completely avoided replying to their post or acknowledged your errors in any way at all. So I have to ask; how do you know what Hollywood knows, since you can't even get the simple things right?
And hey there PraireGirl! It's been too long. I see you've fallen back into old habits though. Shame on you! :P You talk about the casual observer being hoodwinked by what is spoonfed to them, and how you really need to examine and dissect things to really see what lies beneath, yet you stubbornly refuse to dissect the Toothy Tile saga that is being sold to you.
Is anyone here ever going to try to explain the whole Baby Tile thing, and how it can possibly fit in with the rest of the Toothy Tile story and the facts that reality present us with?
I mean, Jake is Toothy Tile, all of Hollywood knows he's gay and in a relationship with Austin, but everyone keeps quiet about it except Ted. Even the gossip sites that actually come out and say that Jake is gay don't mention the fact that he has a long term boyfriend? Hmmm, sounds....strange.
And Jake decides not to come out because of pressure from the 10 percenters, or because of the lure of the big roles and the big money, but he does decide to have a BABY with his boyfriend? And the only source for the existence of this baby is the only source that says that Jake is dating Austin? And the only evidence of this baby's existence is...the same source that says the baby exists in the first place? And yet all of Hollywood knows about Jake and Austin???
And this is the best part: according to Ted, Jake is Gay, has a long term partner, has a child with his long term partner, and has a history of deliberately doing things in the hope of getting outted. And yet, when Disney has decide which star they will go with to helm their next multi-billion dollar franchise, they pick...Jake.
No, seriously, how can anyone believe this? How can anyone with even the slightest grasp on reality buy this?
Look, I know this isn't going to get a proper answer, but the fact that you people can keep coming here and acting like you have some kind of deeper understanding of Hollywood than those poor misguided mid-west housewives is just unbelievable. Special K can't even so much as glance at IMDb to check whether she is talking rubbish, m can't even remember where she reads the stuff that she parrots!
What is it about the Gyllenhaals (be they Jake, Stephen or Naomi) that attracts such craziness? I suppose this blog is the perfect place to ask. :)
Hey popocorn, thanks for summarizing all the facts for us. Jake is gay. Jake and Austin have a child. Jake is bearding with Reese. Jake is toothy tile. Glad to hear you confirm it for us.
Jeez, Cantara did it this time. Notice she acknowledges she's been intimate with Papa. Divorces are ugly, no way around it.
Priarie Girl, I was around Jake Watch from day 1. It is not that they were intimidated out, but that they were so hurt by the way Stephen treated them (he did not even recognize them on the street 20 minutes later) that they never got over it. They gradually lost their affection for Jake because of it and eventually shut down. Very sad. They were very talented.
Oh my dog, Popcorn! I've been wondering where you have been. Good to see you. How was your Thanksgiving? Or are you Stateside?
I'm not 100% sure on TT. I'd say I'm 98% to 99. Come on, who else is it going to be? And as I've said before, why on earth would he keep up this story line for what, 3 or whatever years? He doesn't need it. He writes about a ton of other subjects, not just TT.
I'm not 100% positive on BT, but I'm leaning towards it. Sure there are alot of unanswered questions. But, Popcorn, there have been some secrets managed in HW. Before paparazzi & the internet, who knew about Robert Reed & Raymond Burr? Not many. I believe things can be hidden. Not as easily these days, but people/businesses' silence can be bought. That fact, that people can be bought, is as old as sand and dirt.
What I still question is how people who know, can act like willing participants in the pretense.
I like you, Popcorn, you're a friendly antagonist. I wish I still had my popcorn avatar for ya. I'm the Heat Miser now.
"What I still question is how people who know, can act like willing participants in the pretense." I've always wondered this myself. Although it doesn't seem as though Reese has ever really been chummy with any other celebrities, how do they go to a party let's say, with other celebrities who know that the romance is fake. Aren't they embrassed to look people in the eye and lie?
m, hi! Thanks for further background on JakeWatch. I thought their site was so clever. I laughed so much over their sockwatches and their BooWatch. Seems like it's not at all a good idea to get close to or personal at all with the subject of your blog or in this case, the father of.
And why would Mr. Gyllenhaal get involved (not in a personal sense, but you know, in just a general acknowledging sense) with the authors of a blog of his son? That to me is very strange. Especially because of the nature of JakeWatch. And now supposedly, this Contraband person is blogging on IHJ? What is going on?
I have no reason to believe it wasn't Contraband commenting. But it is troubling/disturbing to think that the G family and maybe a few close to the family monitor these particular websites. I can definitely see Jake's or Maggie's handlers doing it because they need to see what the fans are saying about their clients, get an idea of how they're reacting. But the family? The parents? What in the heck for?
Curious Also, that's exactly what I was saying. If you were J & R, how could you walk around a party where alot of the people knew you were a business arrangement and not a true intimate couple, and act like you were all that. How could the friends who know, how could they do it? It'd be like you were putting on a play in the true theatre sense.
Well, goodnight all. Headed off to snoozeville. Sweet dreams, m.
Sweet dreams, PoPcorn! Good to see you. Just don't pick on my friend, Special. She's special. I still like ya, tho. (( ))
Anon, you're still on borrowed time. Special must either be asleep or out on the town because you're still up. :D

If everyone in HW who is gay, bi, cheating on their SO, bearding, in the closet, left the town, there'll be no one left in HW. They are all in the same boat and they all know what the game is. I don't think it bothers anyone. Look at Cruise, Travolta, the list is endless.....As you said, it's a commercial decision in homophobic HW and everyone know it.
"Hey popocorn, thanks for summarizing all the facts for us. Jake is gay. Jake and Austin have a child. Jake is bearding with Reese. Jake is toothy tile. Glad to hear you confirm it for us."
No, I pointed out that the only source for Jake and Austin being in a long term relationship and having a baby together was Ted and remarked on how illogical it would be for Disney to sign Jake up for PoP, whilst also noting that you parrot things you read without even remembering where you read them.
The only question now is, were you just sarcastically dodging the facts, or did your mind actually warp my words to conform with your view of reality. The former is more likely but the latter would explain a lot...
And Special K, you're sidestepping the point. Telling me that IMDb isn't the only source of information about Hollywood doesn't change the fact that you were wrong when you said that Wild West were the main production company on Four Christmases. Like schadenfreudelocious said, it's actually Spyglass Entertainment. The rest of your conjecture concerning Reese and Type A having to negotiate with Wild West flow from that mistake, a mistake I note that you still haven't acknowledged you made.
Now PraireGirl, don't sidestep things! If you're going to talk about dissecting things, you can't just handwave away all the flaws in the Toothy Tile/Baby Tile saga. Why, out of all the gossip sites that say Jake is gay, is Ted the only one that says he is in a long term relationship with Austin? Why is he the only one that says there is a baby? Why would Jake allow himself to be talked back into the closet or closet himself for money and roles if he was also going to have a baby with his long term gay partner? Why would Disney hire him as the lead in their next multi-billion dollar franchise when he has this secret boyfriend and secret baby which could explode into the mainstream at any time?
I'll answer your questions. Ted would write about TT for three years because it's a fairly popular story that gets him attention at very little risk. He can make up pretty much whatever he likes, because he doesn't need to produce any evidence to back up what he says. Has he produced any evidence to prove that Jake was planning on coming out, or was screwing Austin in parking lots, or screwing producers for roles, or has a baby with Austin?
No.
And yet you find yourself "leaning towards" believing in something that comes from one source, a source that hasn't backed up a word of his story in over 3 years? Where is the dissecting? Where is the refusal to be spoonfed?
Because I'm seeing a very predictable pattern of spoonfeeding going on here. Don't believe me? Well, let me predict the next week here on OMG.
Ted will answer some guesses about TT, dropping more hints about TT's identity that can be connected to Jake. This will trigger various responses along the lines of "Wow, Ted isn't letting up on this!" and "He must be getting really tired of the Reeke nonsense" and "Jake's PR people must be furious/terrified".
Posters will predict that more pictures of Reeke will appear; posters will predict more pictures of Reeke will not appear. When more picture do/do not appear, posters will say "Oh, how predictable" and use this is more evidence that Reeke is fake.
Unless Austin is hit by a bus, Reese will continue to get 10x as many mentions as him.
Because of the continuing drought of Jaustin pictures, the fact that Jake may wear long trousers, or Austin played a character who chewed a toothpick, or that they both put one foot in front of the other when they walk will be used as evidence of the subconscious bond they share that only two people deeply in love would have.
Reese will be castigated for talking about Jake and their relationship, Reese will be castigated for not talking about Jake and their relationship.
Something somewhere will be written or said about Reeke that in some way resembles something that a poster wrote. This will be touted as evidence that Jake's PR, Reese's PR, Disney's PR or just "PR" in general take cues from this blog.
Someone somewhere will write something positive about Reese. If it's by a journalist, it will be blamed on PR. If it is a comment posted on a forum it will blamed on "That Jack Troll".
No evidence of Baby Tile's existence will be forthcoming.
Anyone want to bet against me? I promise to donate 50% of my winnings to the charity of your choice
Tedious posts from popcorn, as usual missing the whole point - why would we or Ted provide the proof for something that is being hidden?
Cantara: what is she on? As for the kids not helping out, please, it has to be better than airing your dirty linen all over the internet, and it's not as though they can't afford to help. I won't be carolling on behalf of the G's this Christmas and it's not because I don't like them - I do.
Seems like a big chunk of perspective has gone missing in HW.
I'll hand you this, Popcorn. You are funny. I had to laugh myself. You have OMG down pretty good, don't you? But you're not changing my point of view or what I believe.
What's wrong with "leaning towards"? Why does everything have to be 100% with wax-sealed, notarized documentation and videotaped & jury-witnessed confession? Yes, BT is going out there on a limb, but that's why I'm beginning to believe. And I'm not going to go into again why I believe Ted is doing it; I'm not expounding on it again. This is a deadend street, Popcorn.
You believe or you don't. Simple as that. And you're not changing alot of the regular posters' here mind either. That's what this particular blog is all about. TB'ers. Simple as the nose on your face. Just what is your agenda, anyway? What exactly do you believe at this point? I think I've asked this before but you never answered my question. Are you simply a fan of Jake's? Are you a fan of Reese's? Obviously you're not a TB'er or a BT believer. That's fine. No one's hogtying you down to make you believe either one. It's a free cyberworld. If you're not even a fan of Jake or Reese's, and you're obviously not a TB'er or definitely not a BT believer, then what in the heck do you hang around for? I don't get it. Your posts are alot of energy spent on something you try to appear as if you don't even care about.
Aha! But that's the key words here. Energy spent. One doesn't spend energy on something like blogging that one doesn't care about. So you obviously care about something here. You're either a big Jake fan or you're a big closeted OMG fan. So tell me. What are you, Popcorn, and be honest with me? I'm honest with you. Don't let our friendship melt away!!
Now knock it off before you irritate me. Come back when you're in a better mood. Geesh. Good morning, Jayna - good to see you.
Hello, Prairie Girl, and all. I am sorry that I have not posted for a couple of days. My Thanksgiving Day was pretty quiet. I only got out on Friday to get my hair cut. Just look at the chemistry between J&A and the smiles!! I am about 50 50 on BT. I will always believe that there is something between J&A. Let me just say that I wish Jake, Austin, and Reese all well. I just had to tell you Prairie Girl that I tried your Buttermilk Salad recipe and it was delicious! I used sugar free orange jello instead of the regular and pineapple tidbits instead of the other. It is a good recipe and I highly recommend it!! I sincerely hope that the parents can handle their divorce out of the public eye with dignity and respect. Wicked, PLEASE do not forget to dress Tink and Potter both up for Christmas!! I have to go to the doctor Tuesday Dec. 2nd, and I do dread that!! I have 6 prescriptions to get renewed so you see I am not well. I will catch you later on in the week. I have to work 3 days next week. As for Austin, I think I would like to just give him a hug and wish him well!! He seems to be a really nice person. Jake seems to be very focused on his career. I just want you to know that I have no control over the spacing of my posts. Sorry for such a long post as usual.
You can always bring me out of the woodwork with pics of our Laker boys. Wow, no comparison with Zac and Leo (can you say "distance"?), and I love the two funny guys laffin' at life too. I love Adam and I adore Kevin James, my King of Queens. Funny is hot. :)
ReplyDeleteHope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, my dinner came out fine, no cooking disastahs at all, but the cleanup, oh boy.
ReplyDeleteI just now caught up on yesterday's posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review Destiny. I cant wait to see Milk myself although I dont think it will happen this weekend - have to work today and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteRead that Milk was completely sold out in Cambridge yesterday, sounds like its going to be sold out this whole weekend.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely planning on seeing it.
ReplyDeleteSpecial there is some space between Leo and Zac but I am not so sure what is up with those two.
ReplyDeleteAlso pleased to see the Lakers pic comparison.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Leo or Zac are completely straight either, but it is funny how you almost drive a truck through them.
ReplyDeleteRe the success of 4 Xmases- good box office does not make a good movie.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it will be remembered that Reese went out there and did her job like a pro while Vince bailed.
ReplyDeleteNot by the 4C public.
ReplyDeleteMost of the press duties are hammered out long before the movie starts filming.
ReplyDeleteReese promoted the movie and herself.
ReplyDeleteWild West Productions (Vince's) is the company that pulled 4C's together. They are the main production company on the project. Do not assume that Reese has an equal partnership in this deal. Her exec. producer credit (Type A) more likely a part of her negotiated contract because she need to get some projects for Type A that went to screen. She had previous bailed on a project call Bunny Lake is Missing.
ReplyDeleteOther Type A productions that she is supposed to have in development and to star in but have yet to see or hear about.
ReplyDeleteTaylor Kitsch and Chace Crawford? I'd like to see that. Taylor is terrific. What a body and he can act too. One of my other favorites besides Jake, Austin and Joe Gordon Levitt.
Ok, I found a picture of Taylor and Chace; there was one that referenced J&A, but I can't seem to get that site to load, so maybe it is gone now.
ReplyDeleteTaylor and Chace
That pic was from Perez and Perez got rid of all those references about Jake & Austin. So I think its gone to big trashcan.
ReplyDelete"Also it has been said that she refused to do PR if he is involved."
ReplyDeleteThe only place I've seen that said is here, and the only person I saw say it is m.
ReplyDeleteOh boy.
So how do Jake & Reese fake it amongst their peers?
ReplyDeleteWhat peers?
And I'll stand corrected if that's not how it is where you work. Someone tell me differently. That's how it's always been where I've worked and another job long, long ago.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, sorry for the long post; it got a little more longwinded than I intended.
ReplyDeleteSay, Gwyneth Paltrow, whose party they were spotted going to. And no doubt, there were other people there, don't know from what walk of life. But Jake acted with Gwyneth in Proof. So she is his peer.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly - two parties and two dinners with other people (that we know of).
ReplyDeleteI don't see the need to fake anything - people presume Reeke are together and Reeke are not expected to share any details about their "relationship".
"I don't see the need to fake anything - people presume Reeke are together and Reeke are not expected to share any details about their "relationship".'
ReplyDeleteI don't buy that.
ReplyDeleteAnd as long as people don't come out, it's not going to change.
ReplyDeleteUnless Jake has always hidden his sexuality and always pretended to be straight to everyone he's ever met, there's no way she wouldn't know.
ReplyDeleteWhy would Gwyneth care about Reese, Reeke or Jake's sexuality?
Destiny dont get me too excited. I love James Franco. I would be in heaven if he came out. Too good to be true;-)
ReplyDeleteNETB, I saw the blurb about Reese refusing to do promo if Vince was involved somewhere on the web. That is where I get all my info as I dont read paper magazines anymore. Cant recall the source since I dont give a hoot about Reese. Most likely defamer or ONTD based on the content.
ReplyDeleteHollywood stars know that fakery is the rule, not the exception.
ReplyDeleteDid you see this on IHJ? Sorry if it is old news or if it is too invasive to post but the public nature of this rift between Jake's parents has to be having quite an impact so I thought I would bring it over.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster.

ReplyDeleteThat girl (s) cracked me up something silly.
Lol!

Well so far this London trip has been different for reeke. So far no holding hands, no pda, No frigging coffee. It seems like a business trip for reese and not a lovefest for reeke. Should I hold my breath for the pics and the BS to follow? Or can I take a deep breath and hope the end is near?
What a year this has been for him.
Wow, that "Cantara" sure is a piece of work. I'm not going to assume that she is the real Cantara; I'll just laugh at how she frames her post.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you ought to know that, being documents filed with the court, Naomi's divorce petition and her financial declaration are now public record, available for anyone to read, even online.
anyone think that the long winded Jake defender is his mom?
ReplyDeleteHey popocorn, thanks for summarizing all the facts for us. Jake is gay. Jake and Austin have a child. Jake is bearding with Reese. Jake is toothy tile. Glad to hear you confirm it for us.
ReplyDeleteJeez, Cantara did it this time.

ReplyDeleteOh my dog, Popcorn! I've been wondering where you have been. Good to see you. How was your Thanksgiving? Or are you Stateside?
ReplyDeleteI'm not 100% sure on TT.
Anon, you better get a name on your post before you get zapped. You're on borrowed time, lol!
ReplyDelete"What I still question is how people who know, can act like willing participants in the pretense."
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered this myself. Although it doesn't seem as though Reese has ever really been chummy with any other celebrities, how do they go to a party let's say, with other celebrities who know that the romance is fake. Aren't they embrassed to look people in the eye and lie?
Popcorn, buzz off.
ReplyDeleteLet me up my ante. I'm 99.5% sure on TT, lol.
ReplyDeletem, hi!
Unless there's something to worry about.
If you think IMDB is the only place with information about what is going on in HW you are surely mistaken.
ReplyDeleteAnd the only thing I got called on was about the exec producer on 4C nothing else. You might want to go look at it again.
And you can looked the rest of the stuff about Type A productions in I don't know - maybe Variety, or the Hollywood Reporter or do some digging
Sorry I don't use IMDB as my only resource.
ReplyDeleteWell, goodnight all.
Oh, there ya are, Special. I thought maybe you had gone to sleep, lol.
ReplyDeleteJust saw "Milk" here in DC. Awesome movie. Sean Penn is absolutely amazing.
ReplyDeleteCurious Also, that's exactly what I was saying. If you were J & R, how could you walk around a party where alot of the people knew you were a business arrangement and not a true intimate couple, and act like you were all that. How could the friends who know, how could they do it? It'd be like you were putting on a play in the true theatre sense.
ReplyDeleteIf everyone in HW who is gay, bi, cheating on their SO, bearding, in the closet, left the town, there'll be no one left in HW.
ReplyDeleteNo, I pointed out that the only source for Jake and Austin being in a long term relationship and having a baby together was Ted and remarked on how illogical it would be for Disney to sign Jake up for PoP, whilst also noting that you parrot things you read without even remembering where you read them.
:)
god you are full of yourself
ReplyDeleteDon't know what popcorn is ranting about because I just skip the posts now but judging from the length, a bad case of verbal diarrhea. As always, lol
ReplyDeleteTedious posts from popcorn, as usual missing the whole point - why would we or Ted provide the proof for something that is being hidden?
ReplyDeleteCantara: what is she on?
As for the kids not helping out, please, it has to be better than airing your dirty linen all over the internet, and it's not as though they can't afford to help. I won't be carolling on behalf of the G's this Christmas and it's not because I don't like them - I do.
Seems like a big chunk of perspective has gone missing in HW.
Typical Cantara viciousness. Its her, for sure. She's been after SG from day one, and is a sick-o. What a fool he is to have engaged with her.
ReplyDeleteJakewatch was very clever, had a style of its own. I hope Britpop is being famous somewhere. Does anybody know what she's up to?
I agree with one thing that popcorn has said. I think it is time for Ted to put up or shut up.
ReplyDeleteI'll hand you this, Popcorn. You are funny. I had to laugh myself. You have OMG down pretty good, don't you? But you're not changing my point of view or what I believe.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with "leaning towards"?
I am
ReplyDeletesorry that I have not posted for a
couple of days. My Thanksgiving Day was pretty quiet. I only got
out on Friday to get my hair cut.
Just look at the chemistry between
J&A and the smiles!! I am about 50
50 on BT. I will always believe
that there is something between J&A. Let me just say that I wish
Jake, Austin, and Reese all well.
I just had to tell you Prairie
Girl that I tried your Buttermilk
Salad recipe and it was delicious!
I used sugar free orange jello instead of the regular and pineapple tidbits instead of the
other. It is a good recipe and I
highly recommend it!!
I sincerely hope that the parents can handle their divorce out of the public eye with dignity
and respect.
Wicked, PLEASE do not forget to
dress Tink and Potter both up for
Christmas!! I have to go to the
doctor Tuesday Dec. 2nd, and I do
dread that!! I have 6 prescriptions to get renewed so you see I am not well. I will catch you later on in the week. I
have to work 3 days next week. As
for Austin, I think I would like to just give him a hug and wish him well!! He seems to be a really
nice person. Jake seems to be very
focused on his career. I just want
you to know that I have no control
over the spacing of my posts. Sorry for such a long post as usual.
