Pedestrian Crossing

It looks like Austin will be in Wilmington a little bit longer and it's not for OTH.

From the blog of Southern Gothic Productions (Hilarie Burton (Peyton on OTH) and her partner Kelly Tenney) it looks like Austin going to be playing Lincoln Booth in a project they're working on called Pedestrian.

"Essentially, it's the story of a 30 year old man, Lincoln Booth, and his journey to conquer his past and reclaim his future. That obviously is an over-simplification. But if I tell you everything, then why would you come see this movie?? Oh, wait......I know why. Cause Austin Nichols is going to play Lincoln!!!"

Hilarie goes on to say some good things about our favorite Texan.

"And then the talented Mr. Nichols showed up. He is the real deal guys.

Our characters on One Tree Hill are supposed to be exes. So before we ever shot together, we went and grabbed dinner.

The first thing I realized about Mr. Nichols is that he is strange.

People as good-looking as he is don't really need

personalities.

But like Lincoln, Mr. Nichols exhibits that overwhelming combination of charisma and mystery.

He is the man who has learned every crew member's name and is respected for his kindness.

He hides away on the weekends, and is a master of rumors.

He is an artist,
that takes pride in exploring and exposing all the layers of his characters' personalities.

He uses pet names for women that are old-fashioned and funny.

He is someone you can talk to all day, and still be completely stumped by.

And that is why he is Lincoln Booth."

At a reading Southern Gothic did during the Cucalorus Film Festival that was in Wilmington, Austin (out at a film festival, never would have guessed) "volunteered his time and did the reading for us.Not only that, but he also helped set up the drink table beforehand and shook hands and kissed babies like a politician afterward."

Sorry this is such copy and paste but Hilarie put it so well. And it sounds like Austin is the sweet charmer that we all assume. Funny how she calls him Mr. Nichols too. Check out the rest of the of post here at: Southern Gothic Productions

And check out her profile picture.

  1. Squee! What a flattering description of Austin. Interesting that he is a man of mystery and disappears for the weekend.

With all that charm, and a killer smile, Jake never stood a chance, did he?

  7. Glühwein releases its aroma as it is gradually mulled. Mr. Nichols' career seems to take that route.

And LondonTB: I am your fan too, quite unabashedly. Only you could say this: I would call it displacement rather than replacement.

  12. Hey, guys, didn' mean to ignore last night! Man, I got torpedo'd yesterday with virus after that chat. Got to take my laptop to my new doc today. You know, I took down my pop up blocker for that, thinking that was the problem, but I think my original problem was my sign on. But when I figured out how to correctly log in, I forgot to put my popup blocker back on, hence, remember Chris, all my problems with the annoying ads? Anyways, long story short, no more chat for the ol' PG if I have to disable my pop up blocker to get on. We'll see.
Oh, well, a good time was had by all.

And wondering & smiley, (I think smiley was the other one wondering) no worry I don't think over what I read. It was just a couple of comments that I read on JustJared . Hopefully, as was said on "Naked Gun", Move along, folks, there's nothing to see here! Nothing to see!
lol. So for now, it’s dismissed.

Well, I'm at work and the punchcard goes in now, as people are starting to arrive, so it's sayanara. I doubt I get my laptop back tonight bein's as I'm not getting to take it in til lunchhour today. Already been going through withdrawal. Hmm, gee, maybe some housework & stuff will actually get done tonight. LOL!!

Kacie, you're kinda worrying me!! Can you just pop your head in & say hey? Present & accounted for?

Have a good Monday. Saw absolutely not a minute of the Super Bowl, no ads, nothing. Squat. Nada. Zilch. Ze

  16. Edited my comment too late. I knew someone would take that & run with it. Oh well.

The Big Debate. Is Jake sad? Or not? I think his PR ought to issue a statement. Settle it right now. How dare he cause this divide in opinion, lol? Caused a bit of a high spirited debate in chat yesterday, for cryin out loud!

I will really try & restrain from further comment on it unless it continues. I'm not swayed or deterred from what I believe I see, but I won't beat a horse to death either. Will just wait & see.

Nice comments from Hilarie. Mysterious, too.

Gotta go. Had to get one more word in, lol.

  17. Dear Ted:
Is Grey Goose George Clooney? Love you, love your column!
    —Mross

    Dear Goose Goss:
Toothy wishes. Really, I think he does.

    Dear Ted:
Did you watch Prayers for Bobby? I thought it was a wonderful movie with a powerful message, and it's great that Lifetime airs it, as it'll reach the people who need to see it the most. Sigourney Weaver was amazing, and I love Austin Nichols. It's nice to see you talking about him lately, and I hope you talk about him more. He is talented and dreamy.
    —Melanie

    Dear Fantasy Land:
Wow-friggin'-woo, is Nichols ever taking part in risqué subject matter lately, this is so intriguing. New, daring leaf?

    Dear Ted:
Is Baby Tile old enough to talk? Should Toothy Tile be worried about what he might say to people?
    —Vicky

    Dear Tattle Tooth:
Yes, very. Consider it a Daddy Fearest in the making.

    Dear Ted:
Just to start setting a Valentine's Day mood, I'd like to ask you, what is, in your opinion, the greatest love story in today's Hollywood? Is it Toothy Tile and Gray Goose's endless, complex, beautiful and ever-forgiving love story?
    —Miranda

    Dear Unrequited Love:
Are you kidding? Toothy's tale is more like Hom-e-o and Juliet—there's nothing great about it. Expect an equally bitter and potentially tragic ending, too. At this point, I'd go with Ellen and Portia.

  24. Lots of Ted to puzzle over. Right now I'm stuck on Clooney and possible reasons why TT wishes he was his boyfriend. The first thing that popped into my head is that George is willing to beard.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I know, Destiny, and I'm trying to be good & do my work, lol!!! this isn't right of Ted. Doggone him! Why didn't he print this Friday for cryin out loud. don't even have time to punctuate or capitalize.

Wouldn't be a surprise with all the separation and hiding. Bound to eventually take a toll.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I know PG! I should be working, and heaven knows it's hard enough to get inspired on a Monday morning without all this. I miss the days when his column came out the night before so you could puzzle over it at home.

  28. I am worried about the "tragic" part.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "I am worried about the "tragic" part"

Me too but it's not surprising!
Let's be honest , Jake seems have others priorities than his boyfriend halas and I doubt Austin likes this game!

I am still septic though about BT existence, I hardly see these two boys having a child actually and implicate him in this hiding game.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think I might be right about George. And I think the reference to Romeo and Juliet is Ted's way of saying that a relationship that is hidden away can't last, that they always end badly. In contrast, Ellen and Portia's is a great love story because they've been open about it from the beginning, giving it the light it needs to grow and flourish.

Now the real question is whether Ted is just talking generally about relationships, particularly in HW, or whether he is hearing things about J&A. Is the reference to Clooney a clue that it is the latter?

    ReplyDelete
  31. "Are you kidding? Toothy's tale is more like Hom-e-o and Juliet—there's nothing great about it. Expect an equally bitter and potentially tragic ending, too."

It could be about being hidden, but it alludes to Jake and Reese with Hom-e-o and Juliet.

But he says expect and potentially - so has not happened yet, and Ted did not say they have split.

They may be at some very rocky times at the moment but they have gotten through rough and rocky before.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I agree Ted is not saying there has been a split, just that there are rough waters of the sort that are hard to survive. I don't think the Romeo and Juliet reference is to Reeke. For starters, what would be tragic about the end of that?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow, lots of tidbits today. Austin hides away on weekends. Now I wonder what he has to hide. Oh yeah, Jake and a baby to boot.

I am not fazed about any rumors of Austin with women. At some point PR has to start planting such stories since the Jake is straight campaign is stalled.

I don't think Ted has any specifics re the relationship, just enough common sense to know that no relationship can survive these types of pressures long term. Something has to give. I've said before that I think they all got more than they bargained for when they started this bearding thing. For one, POP was going to come out earlier and got delayed by over a year. No one anticipated that it would have to go on as long as it has.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think the “Daddy Fearest” is a reference to “Mommy Dearest” the memoir book written by the daughter of actress Joan Crawford. In the book she talks about her mother’s battle with alcoholism and that she cared more about her film career and good publicity than the wellbeing of her children.

  37. Still have to think that this is another rough patch - and it has to be tough. I agree I don't think they ever planned for PoP being delayed for a year. I think that threw a huge monkey wrench in a lot of things for them. Here's hoping that they remember what it is about each other they love and fell for it. And to make each other a priority.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ted " prepare" the ground I think!

    This relationship takes water.

    ReplyDelete
  39. "Here's hoping that they remember what it is about each other they love and fell for it. And to make each other a priority."

I would hope that if I was sure Austin was Jake's priority! I don't think it's the case!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would hope that they fight for what they discovered during TDAT. And could BT possibly be talking already? Kids don't start talking til what, 2? At least, words anyway.

I'm not surprised either if they're going through a rough patch. Although, what relationships don't have rough patches, anyway? But theirs is really compounded.
I hope they're both willing to work hard at it. The thing is? It's Hollywood. And it's such a rarity for relationship to work in HW. Just too many other factors involved. What a soap opera.

Good news on the laptop. I told the guy I was there to help add more value to their stock, lol. He told me how to handle the problem next time I have it. They're so good to me.

Well, lunch hour about to end. Lots of Ted today. Irritated with Ted today. Ted should've printed this Friday, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  41. That picture of Austin and Hilarie is very funny. One of the thing I like about Austin doing OTH is that there are people looking to branch out, like Chad Michael Murray and now, we see, Hilarie Burton. I also think being away from HW (and perhaps NY) is a good thing; people probably don't get as caught up in the star machine and all of it's negative aspects.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hello, is there anybody out there....

    ReplyDelete
  43. When I read Q1, I thought Ted meant Clooney being more famous would be able to open HW doors for TT but agree with Destiny that he probably meant a more flexible bf than Austin when it came to bearding. 10 cool points to Austin for being inflexible :)

Q2: Austin seems to have turned a "new leaf" alright! All this gossip about him hooking up with girls. Since he is gay, any gossip about him hooking up with boys? Nada. So, is this PR planted or is Austin finally fed up with TT and is spreading his wings? Don't know. will wait & see...

Q3 : Is BT talking? Ted doesn't say yes. He only answers the second part of the question. Daddy Fearest?? WTF? did J&A think their kid was not going to talk someday and let the cat out of the bag? If it's a case of Daddy Fearest, they should never have had a baby in the first place. What are they going to do? teach the kid to lie from day one? Jeeze!

Q4 : I think Ted doesn't think J&A are a great love story because they are in the closet. I think the Homeo & Juliet reference is to Jake & Reese. Meaning it's Toothy's tale. The second part about bitterness and tragedy I think refers to J&A. I think he's saying that's how it will end if they don't resolve their issues soon.

Probably the delay in PoP release, the parents divorce, the lack of projects due to the financial crisis all have a bearing on J&A. But that is life. What matters is the wisdom with which you solve your problems.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hellooooooo! oooooo!oooooo!

    lol

Those guys are sooooo good at my computer place. I really like the "2nd" shift guy. He is really interesting to talk to and doesn't talk down to me just because I know hardly anything about computers. He was showing me more preventative/defensive things to do to help maintain a clean, healthy laptop! How nice is that. In return, I told him all about my new walking stick when he asked how my walk went.

Hey, a walking stick adds just a tad bit more aerobic workout to an ordinary walk. It wasn't easy to do it the entire way. I felt like a hiker. Like I should've had on khaki cargo shorts, hiking boots, and a backpack.

I didn't realize how obvious it seems now that a couple of "stories" come out about Austin after Ted begins to mention him in his column. Started to fall for it hook, line & sinker. Oh well-won't be the first time. Won't be the last, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think that Ted has decidied that it is time for Austin to take a little heat. Ted has been on to Jakes little charade and I think now he feels it is time to give someone who is supposed to be an equal partner a little heat too. Sounds like Ted is kind of throwing a warning out to these two that they have a lot to lose.
Of course a large pertcentage of HW relationships dont last and a LTR for a gay man is probably two weeks(LOL). I know I like to see Jake and Austin together forever but what are the odds????? All I know for sure is that we have heard more about Austin and the Grey Goose in the last two weeks than the last two years combined.
If indeed they are a couple I would love to see a happy ending. Guess its just watch, wait and see;-)

  46. Interesting take on Q2 flf, I hadn't thought of that.

One word for you PG about your viruses: Apple. I've never had a problem since switching from a PC to an Apple, knock on wood.

    Ok, off to watch OTH.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I loved reading Hilaries comments. Mystery, master of rumors, hides away on weekends. I also liked hearing respected for his kindness. That was sweet.

Hopefully the mystery man is spending his hideaway weekends with the man who is rumored to be his partner.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh no, no Apple for me. Altho my brother swears by his. I had taken my pop up blocker off, thinking that was my problem, but I need to put it back on and hopefully, that will fix that. Cross fingers.

Well, Austin's already had his shirt off. Hey, that guy's been working out. Now those are some darn good lookin' abs. Not too ripped. Just right. I tell you what. Jake better watch out because right now Austin is indeed coming on fast & strong.

Hey, Tom, had on the weather channel a bit ago. Looks like you're getting some snow tomorrow. Destiny, I did blow towards the east on Saturday night when I went outside. Hope I blew some of that day's 68 degrees your way.

    ReplyDelete
  49. If he is looking at another season OTH or another network type show, they might think they need to plant the straight rumors instead of radio silence for the newest fans he's gained. It would be the easiest and less aggressive approach dealing with questions.

We are getting snow AGAIN tomorrow. This will be our 50th- 54th inches of the season tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Looks like the Philly area is gonna miss out on the snow PR girl. You did send some nice weather for us this weekend on the East coast. Thanks. I feel bad for our NE folks. I know they have had a tough winter.

I def. think the Hilarie hooking up with Austin was a PR plant. The way she talks about him is not in romantic terms but that of a friend. Plus if they were hooking up it most likely be on weekends and apparantely she doesnt know where he is on weekends.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That is the voice of a gay man.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow, Spesh, that's terrible. Too much snow for me. Not a fan of the stuff at all.

You guys are right. It can't be a coincidence that all of a sudden, there's these Austin hooking up stories being bandied about. The guy's had no attention at all for how long. But he is getting some great exposure now. I think he's got alot to look forward to. Looking at him in some of these scenes, it's amazing to see he's no longer the gangly young guy in those Bedhead pictures, lol. He has filled out to be quite the man. And what a great bedroom voice he has.

I wish I didn't have to sit through these other characters' scenes just to get to Austin's, lol. Seems like a good time to go to the fridge and get a fudgebar, anyways. While I wait.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Fudgebar very good! Sugar-free at that. Not bad at all.

    Hey, where were the previews??
Great H.S. picture of little Austin, too, btw. Sorry, but none, and I mean none of those other guys on the show hold a candle to Austin. He has it hand over fist on all of them, even van der Beek.

Lol, Destiny, did you see the part where Brooke denied she smoked because of her voice?

Well, time to hit the hay. I'm bushed.

m, I was trying to go back and find that comment you had where you mentioned a new story that was kind of popular. I forgot to write it down & I cannot find what day it was you said that. Can you remember what story it was you mentioned? Help!

Okay, well, sweet dreams & I am about to drop my head on this laptop, so sayanara.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That line about the smoking made me laugh PG. So funny to get that not long after our conversation about that.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You have to imagine Austin's mom must get a kick out of dragging out the pictures of Austin as a kid when he calls home asking for pictures, and he has to be like most people worrying which pictures your parents pick that they think looked good in.

Interesting take on Julian and Brooke's storyline. And it looks like Brooke and Julian have taken over the whole Mouth and Millie spot that was there in the beginning of this season. And interesting how - Owen is away working on recovery since Julian to town.

    ReplyDelete
  56. From Zap2it's summary of the tonight's episode.

"Julian convinces her he doesn't want the high school Brooke because he's not the same person he was in high school either (a.k.a. a dork Mathlete) although the picture of Austin Nichols in high school is kind of cute. The Mathletes in my school didn't look like that!"

I think everybody was thinking the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  57. How could I forget to mention the picture of young Austin, that was so adorable. And I was happy to see no Mouth and Millie story again tonight, it is just not one that interests me in the lest.

One thing I was thinking about tonight is Ted's bit about TT cementing himself in the closet, and TR's (if it really is TR) comment about gay and gay gay. Maybe Ted is also saying that the fauxmance is not just for the public perception of them, but also to try and make people in HW think Jake is not gay and is really with Reese? I always figured he was trying to convince the powers that be that he wasn't going to come out, but maybe he's trying to convince them he is not gay gay as well? Hence Ted saying he is further back in the closet.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Another puzzler I hadn't thought about, why is the answer to the question about TT and GG addressed to "unrequited love"?

And how come Ted never mentions GG when he talks about Baby Tile?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I really liked what Jake said about David Fincher's films in that little clip; very insightful and thoughtful. It reminded me of what it was that drew me to Jake initially. And my gosh, it was nice to actually hear him talk about something he felt from the heart after so long.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I loved the OTH episode tonight. Austin had loads of screen time for a change and he looked to die for. Loved that high school pic too. I think they threw in a few insider jokes. Austin made a comment about kissing a cute guy, the directors name is Reese and Austin said it several times. I did read on ONTD that the show is on hiatus for 5 weeks so that is why no previews.

Prairie Girl, I cant recall the title right now. But, when I read the new chapter, I said this is really good, but I dont remember chapter 1. I pulled it up and read it, but did not notice until after that it was nearly 2 years since the author had written it. Two years between chapters. So you are better off not reading it.

Intresting fact. SF chronicle reports that Cleve Jones, a Harvey Milk protege, attended a recent Milk party where he met Mick Jagger. He told Mick that his album Sticky Fingers was a turning point in his life. When he saw the zippered crotch, he knew then that he was gay.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Dear Unrequited Love:
Are you kidding? Toothy's tale is more like Hom-e-o and Juliet—there's nothing great about it. Expect an equally bitter and potentially tragic ending, too. At this point, I'd go with Ellen and Portia.

After reading this over abd over and understanding more the definition of unrequited love I think Ted is refering to Reeke. Maybe Reese has been in love all along with TT.

    ReplyDelete
  62. There is no way that Ted can be refering to TT and GG and saying that the love is unrequited.

  65. "Personally I hope Austin is banging all the girls from OTH, all the guys from OTH and any other consenting adult that steps in his path."

I agree! I want Austin free.

I did too. I was great just to get a clip from Jake. It seems like forever that we had that. While other parts of the business he could do without, you can see that making movies is still his passion.

  68. Expect an equally bitter and potentially tragic ending, too.
Not sure which parts of Romeo and Juliet can be interpreted as bitter; and romance, in Shakespearean tragedy, is almost always doomed because of external barriers, and not due to the trespasses of the lovers themselves. And very often, there is death. I find this comment, therefore, to be highly irresponsible and morbidly sensational.

    I agree.

  69. I agree with you, Rattler. That's kind of a dramatic statement when you really look at it. Unless he can back it up with some kind of explanation (which you know that's not going to happen with Ted) as to what exactly he means, I don't like the conjectures that can bring up.

I'm horrible at Tedspeak and I'm still thinking on it all.

I know, Destiny, I thought that was funny. What a coincidence!
I know you like it, but it just makes me want to keep saying "Clear your throat, girl!"

I watched that video clip of Jake this morning and liked it, too. He sounds so different on there. I don't know. I'm all kinds of confused right now.

Everyone have a good day today. We're headed for an arctic front today - going to be a little blustery. Think this is going to be a Leslie Sansone kind of day.

  70. I think think Ted was talking about reeke when he refered to Hom-e-o and Juliet. The tragic and bitter ending could be reese spilling the beans. I think Jake needs to be careful how he deals with her.

Does anyone have any ideas what Hom-e-o could represent. Of course it refers to Homosexual but does it have any other meanings? Maybe I am just overeacting but everyone says Ted does things for a reason.

  71. Hom-e-o! Why not just Homeo. Juliet does not refer to Austin. NO WAY!

  72. Hom-e-o

A clever double-pun using Romeo and E.O. (E! Online). Nothing sinister, IMO. I do enjoy Ted's wordplay!
