Popping Pressure Stressing Less

Some people love to travel, some not so much. But everyone is always looking to make their travel easier and less stressful. Looks like Jake does too and takes a homeopathic approach. Having to go way back for actual interviews with Jake (since he hasn't done any since Rendition) I came across one he did for a travel program called Getaway, which appears on the Nine MSN, an Aussie site. You can read and watch a video snippet it here. They discussed his first time filming in Morocco (for Rendition) and the most remote place he's been to and his travel tips.

What's your number-one travel tip?

Jake: I always feel like water and exercise, like exercising as soon as you get to the place where there's jetlag that's essential. But water makes you keep your sanity.

Is there anything you would never leave home without?
Jake: EarPlanes, and Doctor Bach — what's it called? Stress spray or whatever it's called. It's a homeopathic stress remedy thing for flying.

OH LIKE A SPRITZER?
Jake: No it’s like, comes in drops or whatever. It's called Rescue Remedy, yeah Rescue Remedy.

EarPlanes are ear plugs that relieve ear discomfort, clogging and popping with a filter that regulates air pressure naturally. They were developed by Drew O'Connell in conjunction with the House Ear Institute, the world's leader in hearing research and ear surgery are recommended by flight attendants, frequent flyers and doctors.

Rescue Remedy is homeopathic and natural stress reliever that contains five flower essences: Rock Rose for terror and panic, Impatiens for irritation and impatience, Clematis for inattentiveness, Star of Bethlehem for shock and Cherry Plum for irrational thoughts.

Created over 60 years ago by Dr Edward Bach, who recognized the need for an emergency treatment to help people cope with such everyday stressful situations.

Initially marketed to women, it is now used world wide for stress relief. While Jake uses the drops in a glass in a water, the authors of an article for Time Out Chicago tried out the Rescue Remedy spray for an article. They tried it and found the spritz had familiar taste. "Tequila?" one editor said to the author, turns out the spritzer is at least is 27% alcohol. Not sure about the drops.

Makes you wonder if Jake popped in his EarPlanes and asked for cup of ice and poured the whole bottle of those Rescue Remedy drops on his last flight from Paris.

You think frequent flyer Austin has become a fan of them too?

LOL! Very funny Spesh. I think I need a gallon of this stuff. I have to say I agree with most of Impressions' post as well, I was thinking about something along those lines too. If you are going to have a relationship for PR purposes, having one that you can rely on for no drama, no public lovers' tiffs, no unplanned pregnancies (just rumor), not much PDA (but will take requests), no drama, but yet still keeps the image in the public eye (constantly), is what you want. All very predictable and safe, and accomplishes what needs to be accomplished. I think, but I don't know for sure. Jake and Reese could be the real thing, everybody gets along differently, and even each relationship can be different. I think Ted is talking about the here and now, not predicting that far out into future. There's no way to know for sure. I wouldn't exactly call Austin a doormat, or a bit on the side, but they've had to accept keeping their relationship on the down-low, which I have mixed feelings about. For all intents and purposes, Reese is the one he's out with, whether real or fake, and I'd resent that if I were Austin. I'm not sure anymore about a Baby Tile, never was really, but I do think the possibility exists.

I haven't heard Candy Man in forever either, OMG has the best music. :)

Happy Easter and Happy Passover, everyone!

  2. Great remarks by Impressions and Well, Said..But.
I hope that in time some will feel confident & trusting enough to use a consistant name so at least I can get a good feel for who you are and I'd love to get to know you better. I say that sincerely. Because you all are making some really well-said, insightful comments. It's great to have you & it shows that we can have differences of opinion without getting into unneeded, verbal garbo.

And let's face it, not everyone's going to agree on the possibility of a BT. And that's okay. It's a far out but so far out that it very well can be real issue. I sway back & forth on it like a pendalum (sp?).

I totally agree with Wicked as well. Ted just needs to stop it. He's just giving opinions and though there's nothing wrong in that itself, his column is a HW gossip column and he's supposed to be dishing info & dirt. And he has nothing on Toothy anymore so he needs to knock it off.

Whatever Jake is doing, it's sure unclear, isn't it? I guess as long as his personal life is privately blissful, that's all that matters, especially for him. But I have to say that I think the ironic thing in all of this is that he seems to be losing alot of his longtime, loyal fans. Now as long as he builds a new mainstream fandom, he & his people should be happy. But if this PoP & his other 2 flicks bomb, then he's up a creek. And I can't say that I see the bearding is working presently except that it's bought some Us mag covers and alot of mentions in the rags. The rumors still continue to appear in blog comments and probably always will.

Thank heavens for Special's posts which remain eternally positive and help take our minds off of the majority of a mess that is Jake's professional life right now and has been for the better part of the past 2 years. And thank heavens for bloggers here that keep me coming back because if it was just him & Austin, I doubt I'd still be here. Following Jake has not been alot of fun since he went underground. Actually, Austin's life & career seems alot more positive & upbeat than Jake's right now. Austin seems in a lot happier place. So what's the difference there? Austin's not bearding and Jake is. Seems Jake could see that since it's right in his face.

Interesting deal on this flying therapy, Special. Dramamine is a necessessity for me now; but with it, I'm just fine. I can make do with a bit of earpopping; no harm done. But I know that my cousin & second cousin have both had real unfortunate experiences when they flew while having a cold and it took about a week for their ears to unpop or whatever. So I just hope I never have to fly when I have a cold.

Okay, everyone have a great Saturday! I'm gone for the rest of the day; give you all a good rest from my yak.

  3. Jake and Reese could be the real thing

    LOL!
They are actors, but they aren't good enough to fool people who pay attention.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I believe the catalyst for the bearding was BT. And no I'm not crazy. But HW might have thought Jake's idea of coming out, having a baby with a bf and being open about it, was too crazy, too extreme, that the Republican public wouldn't go for it. Remember, this was 2-3 years ago, before people like Ricky Martin, Clay Aiken, NPH etc. were out, much less had babies. 2-3 years ago compared to today was practically the dark ages concerning surrogacy and out gay actors, not to mention the idea of having a black president and Iowa being a leader in gay marriage. Who would have thought?

You shouldn't have a child with your boyfriend if you don't have the fucking guts to come out and deal with a little heat from the "Republicans" . And what about Rosie, Ethridge and plenty of others that were out and had children before Jake.

If you have a child, you don't hide him or her. And plenty of people in HW manage to live very private lives without creating a faux one to cover for it: K. Reeves, J. Foster, M. Streep, M. Damon, I could go on and on.

Bottom line, this is about being gay, and no excuse in the world is going to make up for the fact that his over the top bearding is deeply homophobic and deeply offensive to most gay people.

And I agree Wicked with you about Ted now that I'm awake enough to absorb his post. There is absolutely nothing in that answer that is "fact"--Ted doesn't even say, If TT has his way, it's just If TT..... All he is doing is stating the obvious, Jake is bearding and has a boyfriend. Ted has no idea what Jake is up to, what he wants and doesn't want, why GG stays with him.

The endless TT bits, without new information, are just pointless.

    ReplyDelete
  5. (Wicked said...
I am sick of analyzing every last word of Ted's. Ted, get back to me when you have something substantial. Because you haven't had anything really on TT in quite a while now. Sorry, but I'm tired of it. He's just trying to keep this BI alive.)

    I agree with Wicked.

  6. Has anybody here, anybody forgot that Reese W. is much larger than Jake in hollywood? Believe me, Reese will call those shots, (OR) will not be duped into something like this to save Jake from scrutiny. Well, I will say, I don't think she would.

There are a number of things happening here.

    1. Either Jake played very hard at his ambiguity during promotion of BBM but is not gay. I know some fans will not have this. I'm having problems with it, but it may be true that Jake is not gay / bi.. and J/R may be more than friends.

    2. Reese has the power to investigate and see if Jake is gay / bi because she (has) to know of the rumors and I don't see her going into this charades and a willing participant with a gay man. Sure, she wants to look like she stood tall after the divorce and wants to be desired, but she could go at it as the strong woman who is just gonna build her life around her kids without a man right now. She has children and a career to uphold. Lying like that is Stupid, Silly, and career suicide IMO. Most of the previous comments are all about Jake or Austin. Reese is more well known than the two put together. Don't see her or her people. (PR/ management/ agent / publicist going for this or being a part of this without trying to stop her). I know she has the last word, they work for her.

    3. Actually, I don't feel that Jake is that vain, stupid and self centered to go through and finish an Adoption and hide the fact that he has a baby. I'm a minority here, but I don't think he would do that. I have more respect for him as a person and human being.

    4. My thing is that Austin and Jake were thinking about being partners with the idea of a baby. I think they both put their careers first. Now Jake's with Reese with probably occasional man sex with Austin or someone else. ( I know some will not like this assesment).

    5. If the heat in the kitchen gets too hot, Reese who may turn a blind eye to the rumors may say enough is enough. Sorry I thing J/R have more than a friendship. I think Jake's heart and feelings are somewhere else though.

    6. Austin is still friends with Jake and as long as Jake and Reese are seen togther he's alright. He does not want to be outing either if he's gay or bi. He's seems to be getting more used to the paps while with Jake. But it's hard. He does NOT want the gay rumors is My opinion. No babytile.

Of course not. 95 gossip readers don't care about Reeke enough to question anything.

Reese's PR started fauxmance rumors 2 WEEKS after her divorce was announced. Reese was very keen to turn attention from "cheated, dumped for another woman and getting divorced" to "are they dating?" gossip.

Jake's body language doesn't lie, Reeke is a sham.

^^ but what would Reees and her team say if Jake and Austin is outed, or if there is a baby tile, the media finds out about that? What would Reese say to the media about her boyfriend with a surrogate child with another man? another actore who plays on OTH?

all of that maybe true and you may want it to be true but, it does not take away the fact that an Actress would participate in a charades to cover up another male actor who suppose to have had a surrogate child with another male actor while she pretends to date him.
It's a disaster in the making down the road.

  14. I have mixed feelings about the sentiment that if Ted does not have anything meaty to add about Toothy, he should not bother. I get starved for info when he doesn't mention him, wondering what is up. Then I go crazy trying to figure out the true meaning when Ted says the slightest thing about him. Cant live with it, cant live without it.

Just judging by the comments, Ted is getting way more activity by talking about other, newer, hotter, stars. Toothy = Jake is such common knowledge, despite the wild guesses, I think most of his readers have moved on to other topics.

I clearly remember an interview Jake did where he said he had 2 personas. When he liked a person, he revealed the real Jake immediately, but most everyone else gets the facade.

  18. Hello everybody !!

It's rainy and cold today: depressing!
Seemingly a bit stormy here too , after Tead speak!
It could'nt be otherwise, really too nebulous for my tired brain.

Giving my understanding issues cause of style'subtilities, I hardly follow Ted, so I read interpretations here and there and try to make myself an opinion!
To be honest he didn't play an essential role in my love for Jaustin , I loves them cause of pics and what I read about them in interviews , articles and here of course.

Ted seems to me a funny gossiper who greatly entertain readers but not sure to take seriously all his words and I guess I am not the only one! People like him are just necessary to demistify and makes celebrities more human!

Didn't know about this rescue remedy, I am a stressed person myself when I travel ( well in everydaylife too lol).

  21. I think pr and Reeke thought people would be stupid enough to buy the showmance as real. After all, we're talking about a country that believed Bush was telling the truth about weapons of mass destruction, despite evidence to the contrary, and that we had to go to war, why shouldn't they buy Reeke? Let's face it, people who were not Jake fans and really don't even know who he is or don't read gossip sites probably have bought it, and now think of Jake as Reese's boyfriend. And Reese didn't want to be the new Jennifer Anniston, and needed a man in a hurry.

Problem for PR and Reeke is that they're operating as if it is still 1959, not 2009, and they didn't count on the power of the internet and sites like Dlisted that are not beholden to pr, the ability of people to post comments at places like Just Jared instead of just being passive readers, as was the case with printed tabloids, and of course blogs like OMG and WFT2.

I think (and hope) that in the next 5 to 10 years things will change tremendously in HW, you don't get states like Iowa legalizing gay marriage if the tides are not turning.

Reeke is already an Edsel, they just don't seem to know it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great post, Special K. this was one of my favorite ones. I like reading about the real Jake, which is hard to do anymore.

Interesting discussion today. I'll throw in my two cents. Reese has NEVER said they are in a romantic relationship. I think she did say they were fine when someone asked if they were in a STABLE relationship recently. I'm in a very stable relationship with my best friend Karla and We Are Fine.

You can always explain stuff away later, if things go ugly, but honestly, do you really believe that if the rags really wanted to out Jake, they wouldn't have done it already? If he's really bi/gay, which i believe to be true, then if they wanted to out him, they would've. That shit is too hard to hide indefinitely. Along the same lines, I don't believe in BT because i can't see that staying secret. Jake loves babies too much and wants one too much. If he had one, he'd be out at the park and out with his sister, etc. I think if he was willing to take that step, he'd have to be willing to come out, unless he makes one with Reese, and he can have his baby and hide forever. I don't see Reese wanting to have another baby, however, because that would do a number on her life. I don't see her willing to give up that much freedom and control again. And why should she? She already has 2 beautiful children and a smoking hole because of getting pg the first time. I think she's learned her lesson on that. I don't like her, but that doesn't mean i don't think she's smart and able to take care of number one.

    :)

  23. What's a "smoking hole' ? I think I might know (LOL) but usually the word "smoking" is used to describe something as hot and sexy, soo I'm a little confused by what you mean, Sienata..

LiLo and Sam Really Do Mean Something
    BY MICHAEL WOLFF
We spend a fair amount of time and space at Newser on the ever-continuing drama of LiLo and Sam’s relationship. Behind the scenes at Newser, there is quite often an animated debate about why we’re giving LiLo and Sam so much attention. Many of the other over-50 men at Newser (there are two of us) find our interest excessive—but not me.

Or, after months of grousing, I’ve finally gotten their significance. LiLo and Sam are the first post-gay couple. We’re gay-blind to LiLo and Sam. Nothing askance attaches to them. The word lesbian seems hardly ever—even unconsciously—to arise.

Nor do they seem merely part of the movement to turn gay couples invisible by making them as uninteresting and middle class as any other kind of couple. That is, after all, part of the meaning of the gay marriage issue—we’re ever so unsexy, too. But those gay couples still look gay—as well as boring.

LiLo and Sam aren’t trying to hide in plain sight by being ordinary.

They’ve denuded their lesbianism in part through all the media attention. Self-promotion creates a noise level that drowns out everything else, including, it seems, prejudice.

It could be the fighting. That’s the universal point of empathy between all couples, gay or straight: You know your own tensions and resentments could as easily boil over in public (and involve changed locks, restraining orders, bouncers, etc). We identify.

And they’re young. It would undoubtedly be different if they were old lesbians. Young lesbians seem, well, more young than lesbian.

It could be that, given everything we’ve seen, each fight as it's been reported, we don’t see a same-sex couple, but a divided couple. By class, for one thing. The Ronsons think they are very New York and superior (albeit via Page Six), while the Lohans couldn’t be more trailer trash. And, indeed, the constant tussle between the families not only makes that point, but further establishes that, gay or straight, you’ll have horrifying in-laws. Of course, Lindsay Lohan is a star, and Samantha Ronson is…hmm, not sure. On the other hand, Samantha Ronson is cool, and has lent that cache to Lindsay Lohan, who, on her own, is a bit of a cow.

At any rate, I’m now giving the issue of why we give LiLo and Sam so much attention a double-dose of too much attention. And yet, I do think it’s worth noting that LiLo and Sam, whether together or not, have broken a cultural barrier. With a little critical interpretation, they’re the Jackie Robinson of same-sex couples. Their very irrelevance and insignificance seems to have made their sexual orientation irrelevant and insignificant, too.

    That’s something.

  25. I think it is impossible to out someone unless they chose to come out after being exposed. Look at the pictures of Travolta kissing that man on the plane steps, or Aiken and that story by the soldier who said he slept with him. Despite that story Clay's fans still couldn't believe he was gay when he came out.

I also think Reeke has gone entirely too far for them to say it was just the tabloids making it up.

    ReplyDelete

  27. "I also think Reeke has gone entirely too far for them to say it was just the tabloids making it up."

Reeke or Reese? Jake hasn't said anything, it's Reese (with or without Jake's "permission") who is pushing the romance angle. Frankly I can hardl;y wait for Jake to start doing interviews to see how he will handle it, to see if he will also be selling Reeke.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jake holds hands with Reese every chance he gets, he ran to Europe to be with her during promotion, he appeared with her at the Vanity Fair party, he has obviously okayed stories in US, Reese's magazine covers, kissed her at the Lakers, goes on double dates with other couples and goes on vacations with Reese and the children.

The fact he doesn't say anything can't change any of that, and I honestly don't see how anyone can look at what has been going on and think that Jake doesn't want people to think he is Reese.

There are three reasons why Jake is possibly not saying anything: (1) he's had nothing to promote so no real interviews;(2) he's deluding himself into thinking he's not "lying" as long as he doesn't open his mouth (sorry, but actions speak louder than words), or (3) he's a terrible liar and/or afraid of screwing it up, as we all know Jake is not the most articulate speaker in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  29. LOL, that should be, "with Reese", not "he is Reese". Talk about a Freudian slip.

  30. smoking hole = disaster. getting pg unplanned got her 2 beautiful kids, but some disaster in the form of getting cheated on, bad divorce, etc. :)

  31. Reese has NEVER said they are in a romantic relationship. I think she did say they were fine when someone asked if they were in a STABLE relationship recently. I'm in a very stable relationship with my best friend Karla and We Are Fine.

What do you need to hear before you will feel this relationship has been confirmed? I'm honestly asking. I feel that Reese has played along with interviewers' questions about this relationship to an extent that she can't back out and say we were just friends all along. Plus, the actions of both Jake and Reese have gone way too far for either of them to pretend they only ever wanted to be seen as friends. It's true Jake has not said anything, but he has played the role of Reese's BF all too well.

    LMAO, evryone has horrifying in-laws.

    I don't.

  32. i guess i'm just hanging on to their refusal to actually admit anything as having some deeper meaning because i want it too. i hate to think of him lying his way thru 2 years of his life. my choices are to rational it away this way, or to believe he's straight and it's real, and... hurl!!! i don't want to do that. so here i go, trying to make sense out of something by reading between lines that maybe aren't even there anymore. i'm just glad we can talk about it here. it's my favorite non-important obsession! :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. wicked... you remember how bill clinton split hairs about sex? i guess maybe i think that's what reese is doing. i mean.. why can't she string 2 sentences together about him? after 2 years, is that so hard. it's not like he's a government spy or on the witness protection program! he's right there, in her pap pix all the time, masquerading as her bf! doesn't it seem odd to you that - after all this time - she has ZERO to say about him.

and why didn't they walk the red carpet together at the oscars? yeah, they went to a part afterwards, but - imho - walking the red carpet is a sign of coupledom. if they really wanted to establish themselves as a couple, they could've gone a LONG way towards doing that that night. the fact that they didn't just gives me a smidge of hope.

    Sienna = Pollyanna :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. To be honest, I'd like to hear one or the other or both, unequivocally state something straighforward. There's no reason to hold back now, and a little something won't invade their privacy. People might, once they hear something for certain, might not pay as much attention anymore, giving them the privacy they claim to want, and therein might lie the problem! ;) I don't always believe the old adage that actions speak louder than words; sometimes you have to hear the words. I do agree that some people don't feel comfortable lying and may avoid saying anything, but can rationalize away their actions; they didn't actually lie. And actions can be interpreted differently by different people, could easily be explained away in the future. A direct answer would pin them down.

    ReplyDelete
  35. yeah, but... i agree. a direct statement would pin them down, and that's why i think we haven't heard one.

    ReplyDelete
  36. doesn't it seem odd to you that - after all this time - she has ZERO to say about him

    Not at all.

Reese is using Jake to get the publicity, but she's promoting only herself - not Reeke. She's also selling "low profile couple" and "down to earth" crap.
The less Reese lies, the less she has to worry about being caught (Ellen DeGeneres Show). Tabloids are there to do the dirty work for her.

    ReplyDelete
  37. really interesting post about the non-eventness of sam and lilo being lesbians. i think society is more accepting of women coming out and being together. i think homphobes just have a worse impression of what guys do together than of girls. plus, once folks got used to it, that 15 min of fame was over and it was just another manic relationship to watch and make you happier with your own boring life. i'm not sure that it would be that easy for jake, but i honestly don't think it would hurt him much more than Reeke and his bad movie choices are hurting him.

    ReplyDelete
  38. :)... that's my point. If it were a REAL romance, it wouldn't be all about her, it would be about her and him and how happy he makes her and how much fun they have and how good he is with her kids and how nice it is to feel loved and happy again. the fact that she's not doing any of that just screams FAKE to me.

i'm pretty sure we are discussing on the same side of the coin here, so don't get alarmed at my excitement. i'm just... excited! i have a whole day and a half off from work and i'm a bit high on the joy of it all. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Another reason for Jake not saying anything--not stating they are a couple may have everything to do with thinking they'll get more mileage from the showmance than if they said it outright.

  41. destiny,.. good point, except, who really cares about the showmance anymore. i mean, we obviously still follow it because it's like a bad car wreck and we can't help but watch and gawk and analyze... but does anyone else care? i'm truly asking, because i have no idea about the scope of reeke's pop in the rest of the world. i know M vs A is doing well, and her ch film did well, but she still doesn't seem like a celeb anyone really cares about. and now she's involved in the most boring relationship in the world centered around coffee runs and boutiqueing, and we're all about to fall out into a dead coma from watching it, imo. do you think there is a significant contingent of folks who CARE, or are most folks on the same page with us, even IF they believe it's real. Which leads me to my point of, if they want to sustain public interest, it's time for SOME sort of excitement. What say You?

I'm going to walk my dog outside in the sunshine... a novel concept. i'll be back in a bit. hugs all around. s.

  42. It's been all about Reese because she's the one who has had movies to promote. All of the promotion for Rendition had finished before Reeke swung into high gear. And Jake is allowing Reese to use him this way, I'm sure if he was unhappy with what she was doing he could stop it.

Jake won't do that thought. Jake would rather be seen as Reese's doormat boyfriend than a strong, independent man with gay rumors.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ...but does anyone else care?

Not really, but the fauxmance is still the most interesting thing about Reese - and she knows it.

ITA, but also let me add my part 2:

If it were a REAL romance, it wouldn't be all about her, it would be about her and him and how happy he says she makes him and how much fun they have and how he says he enjoys her kids and how he says it's nice to feel loved by her and that says he's happy with her. the fact that he's not doing any of that just screams FAKE to me.

  47. yeah..but: "I don't always believe the old adage that actions speak louder than words; sometimes you have to hear the words. I do agree that some people don't feel comfortable lying and may avoid saying anything, but can rationalize away their actions; they didn't actually lie. And actions can be interpreted differently by different people, could easily be explained away in the future. A direct answer would pin them down.

    ITA.

no offense, but Destiny, you are the exact type of person Reeke is counting on (besides the Jaustin angle, natch..lol): someone who interprets holding hands, vacations with kids, going to parties, a (forced) kiss on a kiss cam at a sports event, tab/gossip sites sightings of "double dates" (where were the pics of Gwynnie and Chris?), Reese's vague statements in mags and interviews -- as a romance. Maybe 80% of the public buys it like you do but I don't. I want an unequivocal, beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt direct statement from Jake, something that would hold up in a court of law, not a bunch of nebulous conjuring.

Tabloid and gossip readers don't need that. They don't care and don't question Reeke.

    P.S. Destiny doesn't buy Reeke :)

In the real world, these things would show that two people were a couple, but in HW, they could be staged photo ops for all we know. I don't have to have a Jake raise his right hand and swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth ;) - but someone asked what it would take for me to believe they are a real couple, and if one or both of them said something in an interview, then I'd believe. The other stuff can all be staged, a lot of it was on the movie studios' dime. The US magazine editor herself has come right out and said that what they print isn't true, it's all promotion. :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. if one or both of them said something in an interview, then I'd believe

    Unbelievable.

After two years of Reeke crap you believe that Reese and Jake wouldn't tell a lie.

    ReplyDelete
  52. What you're witnessing is one of the best planned, most thought out, most facinating (IMO) public relations driven relationships in Hollywood history.

Jake and Reese are both 100% invested in this sham. Their people are all on board.

Sit back and enjoy. Although it may be twenty years before the juicy truth reveals itself.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yeah, but ...,

Check out Reese's latest Ellen show video - Reese was caught lying about her "birthday dinner" with Jake.

    ReplyDelete
  54. ^^I know, what we've heard so far isn't convincing - Reese's answers are cagey I think. It depends on what they say, how straightforward they are. But I'm inclined to agree with some of what EastCoast fan has said. There's a point where I have to drop it.

    Goodnight, all!

  55. What confirmation would they need or look for after all this time and tons of Reeke tabloid stories and photo ops?

    None.

And how else are those actions meant to be interpreted? It is pretty clear that Jake and Reese want to be seen as a romantic couple.

After two years of Reeke crap you believe that Reese and Jake wouldn't tell a lie.

It's Hollywood. They all lie. How could you possibly think otherwise?

    ReplyDelete
  56. It depends on what they say, how straightforward they are.

Yeah, right. It depends on the Mars' relative position to the Sun.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Actions speak louder than words?

Like Jake silence after Heath's death and the park photo op a few days later?

What do those actions say about Jake?

How about the pap kicking and spitting? The over 2 years with no one but The General? Playing at step-father for Ava and Deacon?

Are those the actions of a man worthy of praise and celebration?

One of the goals of Reeke was to scrub away the toxic gay fans, and replace them with Jake 100% straight fans. Only problem is that there's been little to no replacing going on, and those that remain bitch about him, and the few new ones probably can't even remember his last name, unless it's Reese's boyfriend.

Reeke, as cunning in its conception and excecution, is a failure. At the other end, when all this is done, neither Jake nor Reese will come out a winner.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Reese will win. Any collateral damage done to Jake will be an afterthought to her, CAA, Evelyn and BWR. I'm sure right now Jake thinks he is getting an equal share of the benefits but if anyone needs to get hurt for this to end it will be him.

    ReplyDelete
  59. TR - do you think that Reese would drop Ev and BWR too in her wake?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Not at all. Why would she? Those people would set themselves on fire if she told them to.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks TR. I know that there was a lot of shifting around between CAA and Ev after Reese left her long time manager, I just didn't know if she would just jump again if she felt like it.

    ReplyDelete
  62. TR do you think that Reese will really go on with the Reeke charade for another year or two? She's put in enough time with Reeke where she can turn around and say that she wants some "me" time and focus on her kids and the standard "we wanted different things" line regarding dumping Jake.

And how else are those actions meant to be interpreted?

Prairie Girl, I saw you holding hands with that man. Yeah right, sure he's your uncle, who's going thru a few problems right now, and you're trying to be comforting. Uh huh.

Destiny, I heard you went on vacation with your newly-divorced college buddy and his young kids. No way can a person go on a vacation with an adult and a few kids and remain platonic. Everyone knows you're sleeping with the father of those kids.

Wicked, I saw you and Tom kiss on that Kiss Cam. You two are definately in love and are a real couple. Damn, you are so lucky to have Tom, I bet your sex life together is HOT.

Tr, I understand you attended a few formal company parties with the same co-worker. Nobody ever does that. You two are fucking, I know it.

Special, I heard you and your best gay friend spent 11 minutes in the airplane bathroom during the flight. I don't care what you say, that he had to help you adjust your "special earplugs" and give you some "Rescue drops" uh huh, is that what it's called these days? And then to top it off you gave your friend a quick kiss goodbye at the airport before you went your separate ways. You sluts are deeply in love and having sex anywhere you can do it.

    *grin*

    ReplyDelete
  64. Sorry OMG! Weekly Gossip Roundup!, but it seems clear to me that Jake and Reese are working very hard to get other people to perceive them as a romantic couple. I think if they tried to play the friends card after all they have done, they will look ludicrous. I'd love to see them try it.

P.S. I'm also pretty sure I know who you are.

Depeche Mode have announced plans to close down Hollywood Boulevard for a special outdoor gig.

The band will be staging a live performance on ABC's late-night talkshow Jimmy Kimmel Live! on April 23, according to their official website.

Their exclusive gig will feature a multi-song set for fans along the famous Los Angeles boulevard, including material from their twelfth studio album 'Sounds Of the Universe', which is set to be released on April 21.

Two songs will be broadcast on Kimmel's television show, one of which will be new single ‘Wrong’.

The band are set to embark on a US tour in July. They will also play a one off date at London's O2 Arena on May 30.

...what must the neighbors think when I say good bye to my friends

    ReplyDelete
  66. Boy. What an afternoon/evening of discussion.

I don't really have anything new to add except to just throw in a few cents of my own:

    1. Of course Reese & Jake want to be perceived as a romantic couple. I don't think platonic friends want to be reported as sharing hotel suites and Cabo island huts.

    2. But, I am in agreement in that Jake has done nothing in print or on TV (what very little he has done in the past 2 yrs) yet to speak of Reeke and what it has meant to him. Reese? Well, she's kind of harder to get. She verbally says little. But she's pimping herself out for US front covers with "Jake Moves In!" and whatever this last one said with the Lakers picture on it. And the articles all have the spotlight spin all on her. So, that tells me that she's the Priority, the Top Dog, the Numero Uno, the Head Honcho, the Queenpin, the Grand Poobah, and the Queen Bee as far as their shared mgmt goes. So, yeah, I want to see Jake sitting directly across from Ellen or David Letterman, look them straight in the eye, and without flushing, squirming, or straightening his suit jacket, say that she's the one, he loves her kids like they were his own, they're shacked up and share a bed, and he couldn't be happier in his life. lol. Well, maybe the bed part is kinda pushin' it. But you get what I'm saying.

    3. I was a little harsher than I intended this morning. Not about Ted; I meant that. But I have no right to say Jake's pro. life is a mess. What in the heck do I, an admin know? I got a little carried away there. So I'd like to take that back. I'm leaving the comment up because I meant most of the other stuff. But I didn't mean to belittle his career or anything. Although, it doesn't help to not know the truth. If I knew the truth, it'd be alot easier to either support him or not care anymore. And if him & Austin are in a LT committed relationship and if a baby is involved, then to expect fans to have totally blind faith is really expecting quite alot. It's asking alot with absolutely no concrete, no-doubt-about-it proof. I mean, I'm sorry. But the only thing or being I'm going to have totally blind faith in is my God & risen Christ, so there you go. People are just human. And for cryin' out loud, even doubting Thomas needed to feel the wounds under his fingertips.

All I'm saying is it's hard to expect people to not question or doubt. But I'm trying to hang in there. And I'm still trying to have some fun. This blog is an escape for alot of us. Heck, I'm on the computer all day long at work. And so when I get on here at night, it's pretty much for fun. We can thank heavens that we are not either one of these guys & having to live with all that stress & angst.

    ReplyDelete
  67. And speaking of fun, we were playing with the kids on the Wii tonight. You know.
You know, I've always been one to put down all these video games & whatnot. I have. And I have played on a Wii before once at a party, the one where you dance on the mat. It was fun. Well, tonight my niece & nephew were teaching us how to operate the thing. We played curling, gokarts, dirtbike riding, etc. What a hoot.

And you know what? I just might contemplate getting one of those things. I can see where they can get addictive. I bet bowling is a blast.

We did have alot of fun. And when you all play it together, I guess you can say it's like a millineum version of charades or card games.

Well, tomorrow is early service & I've got to set my alarm so I can be sure & get up plenty early in time. It's one way into the parking lot, and one way out. They're rattling off services tomorrow at 8, 9, 10:15, 11:30, and 17:30. We're going to be ushered in & out of there like little cattle, lol. So I have just got to get there in good time so I don't get a shake of the head from one of the ushers who always gives me a hard time for coming in at 8:02 or whatever.

Goodnight, everyone, whoever is still up!

    ReplyDelete
  68. The only people I hold hands with are my girlfriend and very young children. I don't kiss my friends on the lips. When I go out with my friends, they sometimes comes to my neighborhood, sometimes I go to theirs. We don't hang out in just one area of town to make it look like we're living together. And when I go out with friends, we don't sit on the same side of the table facing the window for people to see us sitting together.

I agree with Wicked, Rags (thanks for assist) and Peanut Gallery--except like TR I think Reese will win at the end of the day, and I don't have a good feeling about how this will turn out for Jake.

PG, I agree with what you said in your earlier post today about Jake's career. Even if Nailed and Brothers ever come out, they are not the kind of movies that are going to make much money. Everything is riding on PoP, and i just don't see Jake bringing in the audience the way Depp did with Pirates and RDJ with Iron Man, for starters.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Firstly, I wouldn't underestimate SATC II when it comes out same day as PoP. Even though the guys are going to see that film rather than see SATC (unless their gfs or wives drag them), it's fair to say SATC II will usurp the potential female audience for PoP-even with Jake's pecs. Lots of women (including myself) will run that first weekend to watch the continuing misadventures of Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte.

    ReplyDelete
  70. i can't see the allure of POP. we discussed this just a bit the other day, and the gen con was that it was maybe a tweener/gamer movie??? but the folks with those kind of kids in their house had no interest in it. i think jake is too old and to out of touch with the tweeners to have much appeal to them. he's doing his dead level best to make himself as unsexy and unappealing as possible to most any group. i don't think he's tops on anyone's list these days, and there's no reason for that to change anytime soon. it's almost like he's trying to commit image suicide by association/project. he's destroying every bit of yum he's built up in the past few years by reeking and making movies that even his true fans don't want to see. either one is bad enough, but if it weren't for Reeke, i'd see the bad movies, and if the movies were really appealing, i'd see them in spite of Reeke. But i'm not willing to waste my time and energy to see a movie i have no interest in to support a guy who's life makes me want to hurl. And yet, i still consider myself a fan - maybe i'm a fan of the Old Jake and have hopes he'll come back, or at least kick off the crap and show us a new and better version of himself.

That's what i'm hoping for, and that's why i'm hanging around. Plus talking to you guys is fun. :)

Happy Easter or if you're not into that, Happy Sunday. :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. RE: SATC II vs POP: as a non-violent, non-gaming female, this movie has NO appeal for me. as a jake fan, it still has no appeal for me, because of #1: Reeke, but also #2: he looks kinda freaky, and from what i've heard, he sounds kinda freaky too, altho i haven't heard any voice so i don't know that for sure. Unless i wanted to go just to boost his first weekend sales, i have zero reason to go see this movie.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I already have tickets to see Depeche Mode when they come through NY in August. Thanks for letting me know about the Kimmel appearance.

I've never used the Bachs remedy for myself, but years ago a vet suggested I give it to my cat for his inappropriate peeing on the theory he might be stressed. Didn't work for him.

I've thought a lot of the things you've said Sienata about PoP. But I've done enough ranting for one day and it is late, so maybe I'll have more to say on this tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  73. destiny... i was a bit vehement in my post about POP, but i think my disappointment was showing. i'm sad because, after BBM, Jake became HUGE for me. i'll even admit to going a bit overboard in my interest. i was a bit obsessed for a while. I was going thru a bad time personally, and i think i saw him as an "if only" kinda guy. i'm over that now, but i still am sad because he's veered so far away from the very adorable path he was on in that post bbm time, when he was hanging out with mm and la and Chris, and, of course, Austin. he was just so much more real and appealing then, and even if the pics were planned or set up, it still seemed like they were genuine shots of his real life. I saw Zodiac, and i bought it and Rendition on DVD, even tho i had no plans to watch Rendition. I've struggled through a hard time of accepting that this is not going to change any time soon, and so yeah, i'm disappointed. Maybe the rest of the world couldn't care less and will like POP, and good for him if they do, but i don't hve a good feeling about it, for lots of reasons. But i'm not trying to smash him into the ground, and if it came across that way, i'm sorry. like i said, i'm just real disappointed and sometimes i can't help but let it show.

  74. Reeke never demonstrated more clearly to me that they are fake than the recent European publicity tour tied to M&A. In fact, most of the high profile Reeke events were tied to some business. Their behavior follows a pattern. I think they are naive to think they can get away with it, even with rag readers. People don't like liars, and lies trickle out over time. People also have a sixth sense, whether they know it or not. For example, Ellen viewers may not have known consciously that Reese lied about her birthday dinner, but their subconscious knows because her voice betrayed her. Stuff like that gets filed away in the brain for future use.

    ReplyDelete
  75. the european pictures "reeked" of ICK, imo. they seemed less like a couple than i've ever seen before. i'm so hoping for a meltdown of this project soon. surely they want to have lives again. i feel like the whole world would be a brighter place without reeke in it.

pretty hectic. I want to wish all
of you a happy Easter holiday weekend. For myself, I get really
tired of all the Jake and Reese
headlines! Jake will live his life
the way he wants so why worry? As
for Baby Tile, I am 50/50 on that.
My livingroom and bedroom ceilings have been painted. Now my
neighbor is supposed to start on
the kitchen painting walls next week so we are slowly making progress. I have to do a little bit
at at time. I will be so glad when
    it is over!
I do not mean to sound so harsh
but just wish that people could be
what they are! I think Austin is
doing great with his career. I CANNOT WAIT to see The Informers!!
What I like about the OMG blogspot is that you can express
yourself what you truly feel and
there are some really great people
    on here!
    We had a terrible thunderstorm
here Friday night about 9 p.m. with
    heavy rain and terrible lightning.
    Everything is okay though.
The only thing I can say to Jake
is good luck with your career and
personal life!!I just hope that he
    does what makes HIM happy!

  77. It is obvious that Jake wants the world to think he's in a relationship with Reese.

But I think that doing something on paper and executing it are two different things.
Reese is taking this more as an acting project and just doing what she has to do but Jake often looks lost and like he'd prefer to be anywhere else.

I'll believe they are a real couple IF they ever look like one (and on a regular basis). Because despite all their rehearsals they have never come close to looking like a couple, yet.
