Love Connection

Jake and Austin have shared co-stars (Beth Grant), producers (Bruckheimer), the screen (TDAT), shirts, hats, pants, trailers? toothbrushes? wait wait I digress.

And its happened again. This time directors.

Love and Other Drugs, Jake's new movie with Anne and Josh Gad, is being directed by Ed Zwick. Who some might remember from My So-Called and Thirtysomething on TV, or directing movies such as Glory, Legends of the Fall, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond on screen.

But did you know that Autin worked with him first?

After TDAT and before working on Glory Road, Austin did a couple of thing for TV. One you may know, Surface, but the other you might not, "1/4 life". A pilot for ABC which followed a group of young adults – friends and roommates – in their mid-20s living in Chicago. For a number of reasons the pilot did not get picked up. And who was the director? Ed Zwick.

After having a successful twenty-year relationship with ABC/Touchstone , they graciously gave the material back so that Zwick and his long time parter Marshall Herskovitz could develop it in their own way. It was during then they conceived not only doing the quarterlife series for the Internet, but marrying it with a social network called quarterlife.com.

.... before I forget

Jake might be doing Love and Other Drugs, and now it seems that Austin is doing Love and Debate.

A film Austin did in 2006 called Thanks for Gravity, has been retitled Love and Debate and is coming out on DVD August 25th. (Check out Austin Nichols Journal - Spooky's for more pictures)

You think someone else in LA - knows a good Love Connection when they see it?

  1. Look how young Austin is in that first picture. I know I've seen that one many times before but to see it now after having seen him the way he looks now, it's something.

Well, it was off to my computer gurus again. I hope my internet connection problem is fixed now. Why is everything so hard.
LOL, I probably sound like Potter, don't I, Wicked?

Well, it's going to be a warm one today but I understand we have some cooler temperatures coming next week. That's great. I'll be dogsitting all week, so that will be good to be able to walk Chloe in cooler temps.
I can't wait!! Not only do I love Chloe and the Major, who I understand is doing very well at this point with his kidney problem, but I just LOVE their house. OH, I feel like a queen. And alot better cable.

Love the Beatles!! We should have more Beatles. I'm a huge Journey fan, although "Lights" was not one of my favorites. But yesterday, that one sounded so good to hear everytime I heard it.

Where is everyone today? Destiny? Where are you, girl?

Well, I better go. Back to the salt mines.

Won't be around tonight - got the kids. See if we can talk them into going to Ruby Tuesday or something.

Meg? Elinor, I know you are without computer. That is soooo sad. I really , really, feel for you on that one. ag, haven't heard from you in a loooooong time. Did you give up the ship?I could understand if you did. Or maybe there are just alot of real life issues going on. I understand that, too. Seaweed?
Blue Velvet? Where is that Valentino??

    Austin? Jake?

lol. Hey, while we're doing callouts, may as well call out to them, too, right?

Atticus? Where in the heck is poor Atticus?

Potter would probably say, "I'm very concerned," and then he would raise one eyebrow and then the other repeatedly while looking down. He might sigh too.

  3. FWIW Radar Online says Jake was with bil Peter Sarsgaard and another guy "who looked like a Dad" (whatever a "Dad" looks like - *rolls eyes*).

  4. Jake Gyllenhaal stepped out on Wednesday night for a low-key outing with another famous face. But don’t worry Reese, it wasn’t another gal!.The actor hit up a baseball game in Los Angeles with his brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard.

“Jake was there with Peter and some other guy, it looked like another dad,” an onlooker told RadarOnline.com. The threesome sat in the Dugout Club seats as they cheered with the rest of the sellout crowd as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds six to two.

With wedding rumors heating up between him and Witherspoon, maybe he’s getting some tips on how to be a step dad to her kids Ava Marie and Deacon?

  5. Holy Closeup Batman. Jake looks really good. He's got a bit of a tan, and it looks good in contrast with the white beanie. And I don't see stress or worry across his face. Like he sometimes gets with others. ahem.

But man those are some big ass sunglasses he's got.

  6. I think this is interesting.

This is about Brian Austin Green's house up for sale. BAG's House up for sale

Why do I find it interesting? Because the house is right down the street from Jakey. Why is that interesting?

Well we have said many times how Austin looks like BAG and even Ted said so. So if someone saw Austin in the neighborhood, they might think it was BAG. A pair of smarties might use that to their advantage. : )

  7. Looks like Jake was out for dinner on Tuesday night.

    IHJ

Two things I find interesting. 1)Reese is out of town and Jake goes out around town. (out with Atti, out for dinner, Dodger's game)

2)And how when he is is out like this there is only a one to two pics of him, and not the deluge when he's with Ms. W.

Wonder if he slipped into Peter's premiere for Orphan.

  8. Nice to see him out and about on his own. His hair looks good and the beard is super heavy. That man can grow hair like a weed.

Oh my God! There's gotta be a joke about 2 Austins, a visiting Fox and Jakey going green in there somewhere. Fuck!

  13. Dear Ted:
Don't forget us Toothy lovers. We still keep checking in. The bearding sure has taken the sexy out of Toothy. What the heck is up with the very sexy Grey Goose? Does love still reign?
    —Tom , N.J.

    Dear Grey Gardens:
Clandestinely, yes. But is that really love?

  14. Dear Ted:
Will you tell us whether Shafterella Shoshstein and Toothy Tile have been in a film together?

    Dear Big Pic Buds:
    I will. And yes!

I feel like "Gardens" is a clue to something but I can't place it.

  16. clan⋅des⋅tine

    Pronunciation [klan-des-tin]

    –adjective

characterized by, done in, or executed with secrecy or concealment, esp. for purposes of subversion or deception; private or surreptitious: Their clandestine meetings went undiscovered for two years.

  17. "Dear Big Pic Buds:"

Other clues that its Jake and the Chin: Reeke were buddies (and still are!) during making of Rendition and during promos. AND their characters were kind of on the same political side (in the end). They definitely didn't play lovers in the movie either.

  18. Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention ActJuly 23, 2009 at 7:59 PM

    Stop Hate Crimes

Just before midnight Thursday, the Senate finally passed the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act as an amendment to the defense authorization bill. This legislation is long overdue, and now we're finally on the verge of getting it signed into law.

But we know our right-wing opponents are going to launch a last-ditch effort to try to stop us. So we can't stop fighting until the bill is sent to President Obama's desk for his signature. Please stand with me and show your support, right now -- so I can share your support with my colleagues on Capitol Hill.

    Thank you,

    Barbara Boxer

    Full Petition Text:

I join Barbara Boxer and urge Congress to send the Hate Crimes bill to President Obama for his signature.

Passing the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act is so important. This legislation adds gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability as protected categories under our hate crimes laws and strengthens the ability of federal, state, and local authorities to investigate and prosecute hate crimes.

The loss that Matthew Shepard's family carries in their hearts will never disappear. But one thing we can do to ease their burden -- and make sure no other families have to go through this -- is enact this bill into law.

We all need to speak out and add our voices to make sure we make the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act the law of the land.

  22. Jake has a zit over his eyebrow in that Dodgers pic.

  23. It could be a mosquito bite that he accidentally scratched. That's happened to me, and then it looks like a zit. Either way, its ok, Jake's human!

  24. Tom gets another letter answered from Ted. Should Ted's husband be concerned? ; )

Tom are using your Miss Maggie to get Ted's attention. : )

    ReplyDelete
  25. No, it's definitely a zit. Look at the high res photo. Not the end of the world. Adults do get acne once in a while.

So, Ted confirms that Jake and Austin are still together. He must read OMG and saw PG's wish for some news about them. Thank you Ted.

    He also had "Dear Ted:
Will you tell us whether Shafterella Shoshstein and Toothy Tile have been in a film together?
    —Jade

    Dear Big Pic Buds:
    I will. And yes!"

Isn't Shafterella the one who likes women? So they need each other for cover.

  26. Well for a minute I got excited. Someone posted the POP movie poster again on ONTD and there were over 200 comments. I thought finally, some interest. Turns out the post included quit a few movie posters just shown at Comic Con, and most of the comments were about other movie posters. The few that mentioned POP were not favorable.

  27. Kinda of wonder if there will be any PoP surprises tomorrow at Comic Con.

  29. • Jake Gyllenhaal, rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers during a night out with brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard at sold-out Dodger Stadium. The guys watched as the home team bested the Cincinnati Reds, 6-2, from the stadium's club seats, and cheered like crazy when Manny Ramirez hit his grand slam. They also grabbed some peanuts and Cracker Jacks – traditional ballpark fare! – and Gyllenhaal was very nice when approached for pictures by fans.

  30. I just thought that I would check in and say that the old nose is
healing and doing pretty good. I
think that Tom has the magic touch
doesn't this make about the fourth
letter of his that Ted has answered? I am glad to hear that
Jake and Austin are still seeing
each other once in awhile. I hope
that Reese doesn't mind that he will be taking the occasional break
to Texas once in awhile! I am just
teasing-I am glad that Jake is
going out some and enjoying sports
by himself. Everybody have a good
    weekend!!
