" Love Drugs"

.....it sure looked like a doctor's office, from the names on the outer glass door to the men in white coats, stethoscopes slung around necks, filing cabinets, boxes of latex gloves and (unopened) urine sample cups, scale and weight chart.

Jamie fires stats at the doc -- "33 percent fewer phone calls at 4 a.m." -- while Knight weighs a request from his receptionist, Cindy (Judy Greer). A woman is on the phone asking for an antibiotic for her daughter, starring in a high school production of "Bye Bye Birdie."

The physician, with reading glasses low on his nose, says, "Sure, why not." Jamie cranks his charming smile to full tilt for Cindy, who pivots and hustles back down the hallway.

After some back and forth about Knight angling for a consultant's gig, the doctor plucks a chart from outside an exam room and the men step inside as the director calls cut.

Hey everybody!

Hi Dr. Nick!

It doesn't take Viagra to get Pittsburgh excited, Jake's movie has done just that. More love for the movie from the city of Pittsburgh. And from the looks of it, Ed Zwick's first project in the 3 Rivers has been going well. LaOD is track to film until late November, with Anne coming in last week to start to film her part. But someone who has been on set with Jake more has been Atticus. Sounds like Atti is spending his days on location, and getting his own attention with tweets saying people have gotten to play with him on set.

Just one little blue pill and ... tada.

Great role for Jake who is gets to turn on his charm and that smile as he peddles his pills. But it is meeting Maggie (Anne) and artist that is key to the storyline. Zwick talks about their attraction and passion that is key to story. Sounds like their will be lots of sparks. Wonder if that passion will lead to some big fireworks. Kind of want to see Jake have a great big crazy couples squabble on screen with Annie. Saw some of it in BBM as Jack with Lureen and Ennis but it was really more one sided, something with a equally passionate person going toe to toe would be different angle of Jake on screen. But it does sound like Jamie and Maggie fall good and hard for each other.

"When you see what they have together, that is the heart and soul of the movie," - Ed Zwick.

You think Anne is going to have to tell Jake it's ok to touch the girls this time?

Before we forget. You've met the brother (Josh Gad) and the others (Oliver Platt, Hank Azaria, Judy Grear) now its time to meet the parents. Yup this is Jake and Josh's onscreen parents.

George Segal and Jill Clayburgh

  1. Love the bbm pictures. Takes me back.

    RE: Destiny's post

(It's about the damage he does)

    Destiny that should be:

It's about the damage (they) do.
Since you have a need for them to stand up, and I agree. Why are you (not) talking about Kevin Spacey, John Travolta, and all of the other closeted, married, and ones who date women (Actors /Men) in HW who have GAY rumors?
The push for just Jake does not go over well for me because your are screaming for acceptance, equallity, pride and courage and you are leaving a vast majority out. So this push to complain about Jake and only Jake does not work for me.
(All of them are Public Figures). And much bigger ones than Jake. Now going after the slimey Gay and bisexual politiians who denounce, ridicule and throw roadblocks in the way of gay equall rights, I'm all for OUTing their double standard Asses.
I give a high five to the person who did the documentary on HBO about this.
What Jake did for BBM was enough for me right now. He took a part that straight and gay homophobic actors would not touch with a ten foot pole and put life into a charactor which made me a fan of his for life. But he can live his life the way he wants to. I believe he is not straight also, but it's still just a Rumor until proven. Won't stand in ANY court of LAW.

  2. For "What?" since he/she refuses to learn to read:

The mission of this blog is to promote friendship and community among fans of Jake Gyllenhaal and Austin Nichols, whatever the nature of their relationship.

Jake does live his life the way he wants to.
We will discuss gay and closeted Jake as much as we like. Deal with that.

  4. What?.. i agree with your comment in theory. i too am for all of the gay and lesbian celebs adn public figures taking the brave step to come out and live their life openly, forging the way for others to do the same with more opportunity for acceptance and success.

however, this is a JAKE/AUSTIN blog. it's not a blog about gay/lesbians coming out in general. that's not the point of the blog. the reason we come here is to talk about JAKE. i'm sure there are blogs that address your concerns and i'm also sure they would enjoy having someone with your passion and determination blogging on their behalf.

i personally, don't get a gay vibe of John T, even tho i can see how some people do. i think George C is gay. i'm all for him coming out, but i don't see that ever happening.

i think the reason we are so hard on jake is because he made us think he was going to do it. he lived a very openly POSSIBLY gay lifestyle and he was very supportive of gay issues for a while, then suddenly, out of nowhere, he slammed the door on us in favor of his career. that hurt.

i'm sure for every once of us here, we have a different reason for wanting him to come out. but the bottom line is, we aren't hurting him in any way. we aren't damaging his reputation. he's the one doing that, if it's getting done.

i also agree with whoever posted on the last post about the In Style article. for those fans who actually like him and reese together - which i totally don't get at all - they must be really disappointed with the article. she's done again what she's done over and over again since they began: belittled him and made him look like an afterthought in her life by not giving him any credence or special place. i feel sorry for him.

  5. Forgot to say:

None of the rumored gay rumored actors ever attends gay rights rallys or speaks up for gay equality.

    Kevin Spacey
    John Travolta
    Wentworth Miller
    Will Smith
    Eddie Murphy
    Hayden C.
    Michelle Rodriguesz
    Queen Latifah
    Jodie Foster
    Etc. etc

    Just Jake? Come on.

  6. How could I forget George Clooney.

Sorry for my rant, Just had to say it. No more posting for me.

  9. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The more I read about Love and Drugs the more I like the sound of it.

Loving the idea of George Segal and Jill Clayburgh. Seagal was great as Ben's Stiller dad in David O. Russell's Flirting with Disaster. Don't think Jill Clayburgh will pull a Mary Tyler Moore and pull her shirt off during a fight with her son (Stiller). Outrageous scene but funny as hell.

Long time ago there was discussion on what we could see Jake playing, lot could see him playing the charming rouge. Think LaOD is a play on that.

Yes this is Jake AND Austin blog. Always wanted them to be treated equally here that's why I try to find balance in the number of post about each. And why there are equal number of pictures of them in the banner. Always wanted them to be treated equally for the good and for the bad that comes with their lives.

Yes, always Jake and Austin - try reading 2:08 PM post.

I don't agree. If that were the case, there would be no Sunday profile about Out Gay people. Most are celebritys, but not all.
People standing up and speaking out. Do you not read Special K's Sunday Profile.
It's NOT about Jake and Austin only.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't care about most of those people mentioned above, and one of the reasons I don't is because of their bearding, etc.

But some people on that list are different. At least Foster NEVER bearded, and she supports the Trevor Project, which helps gay teens.

Latifah never bearded either, and has been seen in gay clubs and out and about with women, not men. There are even pictures of her at a party with a female stripper performing. Yes, it is stupid of her to not talk about her love life on "privacy" grounds while talking about everyone else in her family, but again, she is not out there with a man on the red carpet or living a double life, one public, one private.

Miller never really bearded either, despite all of the rumors about him and being hounded with questions about his sexuality.

  12. By the way, the fact that I addressed the comment about other actors or the fact that I sometimes talk about Adam Lambert or others doesn't mean I don't agee with everyone else who pointed out that this is a Jake and Austin blog.

  13. Dear Ted:
Where did Jake Gyllenhaal's indie film career go? He had such potential after Donnie Darko, et al. Does Joseph Gordon-Levitt get all the good films, or what? Can't they share?
    —Chen

    Dear Joe for Jake:
JGL has definitely taken the hot, hipster-loved roles away from Jakey-poo, who's given them up in favor of buffed up, more traditional fare (Prince of Persia, dating Reese). Let's cross our fingers J.G. decides to come back to what he does best—being a good actor, not some piece of goss candy.

    Dear Ted:
Are there any Hollywood movers and shakers who say they are gay but who reallly aren't? That would be interesting. Also, is Toothy Tile Jim Carrey?
    —Arparson

    Dear Gay for Pay:
Toothy's got a more serious side than Carrey. Lots of gals (funny, not so with the dudes) in H'wood love saying they're bisexual just to get some extra attention, tho I seriously doubt their affections for both sexes are equal.

    Bitch Back!

  14. Dear Ted:
You comment a lot on Reese, Jen Garner and Gwyneth and how awful they are, but who are the bitchy men in Hollywood? I know how you respect women, so surely you don't have a double standard there, right?
    —Caroline

    Dear Bastard Watch:
Not like anyone wants to believe it, but Gerard Butler's a total curmudgeon.

  16. "Ted" at 5:24 why do you always copy letters, stories and articles from WFT and post it here?! Just wondering since you have to go to the sites to get the link anyway. You do it all the time, don't tell me you don't: I added an extra l to the word really in the 2nd letter when I posted it on WFT and here it is in your post.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Sometimes. Why, you don't want to share?

Please don't change Ted's wording next time.

  18. really.. does this reallly matter. Surely its just being considerate to re-post things people who look at this site might find interesting, just put it down to being kind and providing a community service.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I appreciate that people post things - quotes, links, videos, photos etc. . Putting links to quotes, sometimes just the link.

I put up a quote but I also want to show where I got the information from as well so many times I want to put the link there as well.

  20. Please don't change Ted's wording next time.

LOL I'll change anything if I want to catch you red handed again. Next time don't sit like a vulture at WFT waiting for someone else to do all the work finding and reproducing articles so that you can repeat them here without any credit as to where you found them originally. Copy and paste them yourself at the source. Do some work, it won't kill you.

Is there a date for the Brothers and Nail releases also?

  23. Reality

Brothers opens in Dec 5th in the US. There is supposed to be a NYC premiere at the end of Nov. And talk about an premiere in Ireland too. (Sheridan is from Ireland)

Nailed - Nailed is sitting on the shelf and I don't think it ever got finished due to running out of money. I would love to see that one too since it is a satire about health care.

SpecialK: Same here. I am looking forward to comparing/contrasting Jake's role in LaOD vs. Aaron Eckhart's role as Nick Naylor in Thank You for Smoking. BTW, the title sequence was super for TYfS! Wonder what they will do with Viagra :) ;)

Great video of the veteran speaking out for equality in the Maine marriage hearing. Thanks for sharing Dest. And Adam. I almost didn't recognized him in the video, because the glam is turned down from his AI days, but I really like the look. Great song to show case his talent.

  33. I love that people post Jake and Austin stuff here in entirety from other sites, especially Ted's. Some days I am really busy and I count on this site and WFT2 to keep me up to speed on every little detail out there without having to find it or visit the site myself. Also, I don't like to click on any link that has Reese in it.

I am disappointed that things did not work out for TR Knight and Mark. They made such a cute couple, but there was that big age difference. I guess they were bound to drift apart.

  35. Zachary Quinto Comes Out as an ActivistOctober 22, 2009 at 5:02 AM

Heroes star Zachary Quinto has signed himself up for a big, gay weekend.

Quinto is slated to appear at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center’s annual gala on Saturday night, followed by an appearance at a Los Angeles staging of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later on Sunday. The Star Trek star will join TV actors Pauley Perrette (NCIS) and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), and Broadway’s Barrett Foa, among others at the reading of The Laramie Project.

Chelsea Handler will host the center’s gala, which will honor Wanda Sykes and Miss Coco Peru, among others.

Quinto has long been a vocal supporter of gay rights and issues. In September, he appeared alongside Debra Messing and Jason Alexander at a one-night-only benefit stage reading of one-act plays about gay marriage.

  36. That's great, Tom! My sister had to update me last night on how the game was going as I had kind of forgotten and was online. My brother & I are trying to talk Mom into getting high speed. She's talking about dropping the newspaper (sorry!!) and maybe getting internet instead. She has my old laptop now and I know she would love getting on the internet. She's always so curious when I get on here.

That's great to read about Zachary Quinto being a vocal supporter of gay rights. I hope his people don't try to steer him clear of it in the future.

Well, I can't walk this morning; it's raining. That's why I'm on here at this time. Wake Up With Al!! I love Wake Up With Al - haven't gotten to hear it forever and wouldn't you know, he just said that Al is off today. Brother.

Everyone have a great day today. It's Thursday and that means it's a downhill slide from here. I know I shouldn't say anything about that because this is the only day of the week I'm going to work, but just a bit of encouragement to everyone else.

  37. Great news anout Zachary. Hopefully he will come out soon. Lets hope Disney doesnt get ahold of him or some bitter divorcee with a withering career doesnt talk him into bearding to save his career. Oops wait that was Jake. I think Zachaary will do just fine. He is very talented. Maybe Zach can give Jake the number of his PR company.

Well this very tired Phillies fan just caled in sick. I sure plan to rewatch the game today. All I can say is bring on those ROYALS. Oops I forgot this isnt 1980. Pg how are Brett's hemmroids. Woooooooo!

  40. I'm like a Timex watch Tom. And good luck with the Phillies (luckily for you I'm not a a big Yankees fan, or I'd be rooting for them to kick Phillies butts).

I agree Special about the glam being turned down and Adam not quite looking like how I think he looks, but still looking amazing. Love the duster on him, it's a great look for him.

    That's great about Zach.

Looking at Zach and Adam, they seem like very strong-minded individuals who know exactly what they want, and have either had the guts to stand up to their keepers (Zach) or I suspect in Adam's case, chose very smartly and made sure to get someone is not going to just run with the pack.

I think Jake is not as strong, and being a creature of HW, bought into the pack mentality. Too bad he doesn't get rid of his manager, but I suspect he wouldn't do it because it would be seen as some kind of admission that his career has not been that great and that bad decisions have been made about his image.
