Wow, I left to go pick up my car with its new oil and its new spark plugs and now, 20 hours and $$$ later, LOL!
Gee whiz. Michael's still had some cool stuff on Christmas Clearance!!! I got some twinkling snowflake lights 80% off that I can still use for my winter theme decorating. Then it was over to Home Goods and I can just hang out there forever. Forever. I love that store. And in Home Goods I had the nicest convo with this lady who inquired about my boot and she had just gotten out of hers only days ago.
She broke both of her ankles and was in a wheelchair and cast, then graduated to the boot. She was really, really nice and we talked for quite awhile there in the Throw Rugs section. lol.
I tell you what, though, one more person asks me if I did this skiing and I'm liable to bop them one. I'm getting tired of that one. I don't know how many people ask me that. Come on, come up with something new. HA HA HA. Geez.
See, the people who have experienced the same situation (worn a boot), they don't ask that "oh so funny" question. They know better. I'm going to remember this when I get out of the boot and see someone else in one. I am definitely not going to ask them, Hey did you get that skiing? duh - that's not funny.
AUS10NICHOLS .Another plane ride to North Carolina. 7 more episodes to go. One of which I will direct. First time. Very excited. 5 minutes ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®
Arizona Congresswoman, Democrat, Gabrielle Giffords shot point blank in head at a political event in a Safeway in downtown Tucson. Others dead. Some reports indicate that she has been assassinated. Others, report that she still is in critical condition. She was targeted by Palin and Teabaggers and only won her District in November by less than 1%. Shooter is "apparently" a white male and in his mid 20s. Her last progressive vote was "Yes" on the Repeal of DADT.
Looks like the a statement has been made that the doctors are "optimistic" about Giffords recovery. Tragically, a young girl, approximately, nine years old, has died. Maybe others. It will be interesting to see the media spin on this one.
Arizona has just gotten to be an awful, awful place. It is full of nuts that are encouraged in their awful ways by local politicians. I was just reading a story this morning in the NYT about this new law that limits what can be taught in schools under the banner of multiculturalism, and gee, guess what programs they're targeting, those that teach about Hispanic history and culture.
Then there's cutting off money for people needing organ transplants.
The "Papers Please" law, so many other craziness.
Sigh, it's getting so I hate to even step in the place to visit relatives and friends.
CNN was reporting 6 dead 12 injured and Giffords had surgery. The single shot through her brain Her husband is a Navy Capt. and NASA astronaut is scheduled to lead a space shuttle mission to the International Space Station. They've id'd the shooter as Jared Lee Loughner, 22.
Marcelle_cool:Tell me why I just met James Franco, Jake Gyllenhaal, Brenda Song, Mark Whalberg and a whole bunch of other people? Film Fest was a sucess!! 13 minutes ago via web
Wow, I didn't know about the shooting. That's awful. And I'm not going to say anything about it because honestly I don't even know these people. You guys know how I am with politics. But of course, the crime is just awful. I hope the Congresswoman pulls through all right. It's tragic that a little girl lost her life.
Why do these politics followers take things so seriously?
I've been out since this morning; just finished celebrating Christmas with my sister & a childhood friend. We had Johnny's BarBQue - man, was it good.
This afternoon was spent taking the ol' tree down and putting away a lot of the Christmas decorations. Finally.
Pretty nice pics of Jake at the festival. He looks kind of tired & whipped, though, what's he been doing?
Jet lag? Lots of running around? Hmmm.
Well, I thought we were supposed to be getting a big snowstorm here but now weather.com is saying snow showers. Won't hurt my feelings any if we miss it.
Well, I think I'm going to hit the ol' hay. I can't believe it's as late as it is!
You know what else it screams? Big German shepherd dog. Most of my single friend large dog owners all have SUVs w/sunscreens on the back window for that very reason.
If I seem to recall right, the only times we saw Jake in 2010 with the Q7, we never saw Atticus coming out of it or going into it.
The only times we saw Atticus in 2010 were on the east coast? Or Canada? We haven't hardly seen Atticus at all with Jake and definitely not coming out of this Q7.
What I notice about dog owners, especially large dogs, is that unless it's 95 degrees or so, the owners have their tinted windows open so that the dog can hang their heads out and sniff the air. When it's just so hot, I reckon people aren't going to put up with an open window because they've got to have the AC on. But I find around here that practically all owners have a window down for their dog because the dog is in the back seat.
The Q7 is a 3-row vehicle. That thing is a bus. If Jake is a single, unattached hot man with just a dog in his immediate family, why would he put Atticus way back there in the cargo area? He's going to put Atticus in the roomier second row.
Well, if you fold down the third row, then there is plenty of room for Atticus. But then why buy a bus-sized vehicle like a Q7 if you never need that 3rd row?
Because Jake's not a soccer mom. We haven't seen the Q7 in NYC to haul Maggie, Peter, Ramona & his mother all around. He's using the train.
So here's my question today, I think.
Why does Jake need a vehicle with 3 rows of seats?
Boy, in researching the Audi Q7 on Google images, I got some great looks at the interior of that thing.
That thing is one nice looking ride. I like how the second row has the video screens already built into the back of the headrests. That looks nice so that you don't have to have those straps showing and everything. And there's a fold down tray table that is right below the video screens. Man, that is nice! LOL, in one picture it shows the remote controls, headsets on that tray.
That is one luxurious ride. I think I smell that leather right now. lol
I think I'm going to ride in that Q7 vicariously through Jake & Google Images.
Well, so much for missing the snow! We already got some and I think the big storm is headed this way. I think I'm going to be missing some work. I'm already missing church because I am not going out there in my boot. I dunno - if it's just snow, maybe it'd be all right, huh? It's when there's ice I think will be time for terror.
Congresswoman Giffords is still in critical condition.
This story is awful as I was reading an update on CNN. 6 people were killed, including several senior citizens, the 9 year old little girl and one of Giffords' community outreach staffers, who was 30 and engaged to be married. Oh, and also killed was a federal judge. One of the seniors was a man who was trying to protect his wife - that just breaks my heart. How brave & loving of him.
Some people at the grocery store tackled the guy down - how brave is that? One of the tacklers said the guy was still trying to reload his weapon. What brave civilians there are in this world. That's just incredible.
The Love and Other Drugs actor — who recently split from singer Taylor Swift — enjoys spending time in the kitchen and is “obsessed” with recipe collections.
“I’ve always loved cooking, probably because my father and other always cooked,” he said.
“I have a massive section in my library at home of beautiful old cook books. I really have a strange obsession with them.”
Though Jake collects recipe books, he prefers to come up with his own culinary creations rather than following guidelines.
“If I’m making a romantic dinner. I like to go to a farmers’ market first, buy things fresh and come up with my own dish based on whatever I’ve bought,” he added.
“I grow my own vegetables at home because I love fresh food.”source
Terrible, terrible tragedy in Arizona. The state has been going through a lot of political turmoil, but I don't know if that's the reason for this horrible thing. Very sad. I pray that Congresswoman Giffords pulls through. :(
Goose does not exist anymore, Ted has not written about Grey Goose in months and only one BV update about Toothy and that was about his visits to strip clubs. I never believe Austin was Grey Goose. Whoever grey or toothy are, they are not together anymore that much is obvious based on Ted's lack of information on Grey. Stop hating on Sophia, OTH and just face the fact Austin and Jake are not together. If you believe Austin is Grey Goose and there is no way Jake can be Toothy.
I love cookbooks, too. I have so many and it's not that I think I'll ever cook 1/8th of the recipes in them, I just love the idea of cooking them. LOL! Big dreams.
Love the pictures, thinking about how good the dish might be. I wonder what kind of "old" ones he has. Probably some of the ones from the 60's. LOLLL!! aw man. Love the retro cookbooks with the old pictures, so does my brother. He loves to BBQ so we've given him several BBQ ones. The Fix It and Forget It ones are very good - I gave one for 5 ingredients to my big buddy at work for Christmas. He was so excited over it because he does alot of the cooking in his family. Taste of Home puts out so many winner recipes. My sister in law loves recipes from Cooks Illustrated and my brother is a huge King Arthur fan.
Boy, this Elvi song is just the best, isn't it? I love that little "Whew!" he gives at the end. Very sexy. Can't you just see him wiping the sweat off of his brow? That guy sweated a lot when he performed, didn't he? lol.
I love Cooks Illustrated too, PG - the pictures alone are gorgeous! Elvis music is always uplifting, and he was not only talented but sexy as all get-out. :)
We all know PR wanted us to think Jake was cooking for Reese, but we all know he wasn't doing that.
I love to collect recipes too, but then most of the time I end up cooking the same old things, unless I have guests coming or a lot of spare time on my hands.
Happy Birthday, Elvis! :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, it's Elvi's birthday??
ReplyDeleteWhat a great song to pick, Special. Wow, I haven't heard this in ages and the sound quality is excellent-o. Just excellent on my speakers.
I have no idea why I am suddenly liking Elvi's music lately but I downloaded a Christmas song of his this season that is great.
I like to call him Elvi. I think Elvi is the plural of Elvis. lol
Wow, I left to go pick up my car with its new oil and its new spark plugs and now, 20 hours and $$$ later, LOL!

Such tragic news about Congresswoman Giffords.
ReplyDeleteSo Austin's finally hinting that he was in LA after Jake lands at LAX. Wonder Jake enjoyed the short ribs too?

I hadn't seen the rear tinted windows on the Audi SUV before. That screams backseat secret child.
