Steal Away

Austin continues to be the International Man of Mystery even after tweeting he's back.

Photo on 2011-04-01 at 20.57 Yes I'm on a boat. But this boat is in Indonesia. And I have been at sea for 7 days. April 1

BACK IN THE USA!! Thank you Indonesia and the Indian Ocean for the most beautiful rest. April 7

Twitter powers... weak... Gone so long... Having... Trouble... Tweeting... Help... April 8

So a boat not a ship. A sail and not cruise.

And what did he do?

Here's OMG's Top Ten Austin No Ship Tour.

10. Got in touch with his inner merman

9. Looked for one of the 17,000 plus islands that hasn't seen Holiday in Sun.

8. So compelled by Joe vs. The Volcano took 4 steamer trunks, a tuxedo, and two case of orange soda and set out looking for the Waponi Woo.

7. Had Topsiders and no where to go.

6. Audio books not good enough, recreated Hemingway's Old Man and the Sea for himself this time in the South Pacific. (No fish were hurt in the making of this recreation)

5. Looked for inspiration for his new passion. Sea shanties and limericks (There once was a fella from Chilmark...)

4. Wanted to wear cool outfits like Mayer does during Mayercraft.

3. Had a chance to work on the Gilligan Island Reality Tour as the Professor.

2. No shoes, no shirt, no Sophia.

and number one:

Getting ready just in case Jimmy Fallon calls him for Son of Yacht Rock 2011.

  1. Ha - funny post today.

You're killing me with these Austin pics lately - that first one from the beach series is one of my favorites. :)

    Happy Austin Friday!

  2. Ditto, funny post and great pictures. But Christopher Cross--not my cup of tea, even if I was crawling across the desert.

  5. LOL - I like Austin as the Professor.

Uh....that pic of John Mayer is doin' nuttin for me. Nuttin honey.

Well, well, well...so Jake is in Iceland? I'm seeing on Twitter? Am I see that right? Picture on Tumbler as well.

I don't know if I'm buying Austin back home yet, sorry. I'll need me some better proof than a mere "Honey, I'm home". The guys are knocking themselves out keeping themselves apart this month of April, aren't they?

Pulling out all the stops to try and show the world there's no way they could have kids. I'm sure glad the little tykes are too small to know what their daddy's are doing.

  6. Just a raucous game of Monopoly tonight and I'm the first one out before we had to call it because the kids had to go to bed. My nephew wiped me out with one, Just One, stop on that darn Park Place with a hotel. $1600 and I had to give all I had.

What a cutthroat. He traded his grandma for her Get out of Jail Free card for some piece of property that only called for $2 rent. LOLLLLL!!! What a little con.

Tomorrow morning is the ol' Wichita market. It's a great one although I doubt there's much produce tomorrow. It is an excellent outdoor market when it gets in full swing, though.

  7. Jake in Iceland? Links please.

  8. That first picture of Austin is a keeper. He looks so sexy with his hair longish. Brings out the curl. Hopefully Austin went away to have a long, hard think about what he wants to do with his life in the coming years, and how he wants to play it. In or out.

We got a new monitor for the desk top and it's so cool. 30 inches and great for netflix viewing. I was getting addicted to instant view even before it arrived. Now I'll never be able to leave the screen.

  9. Sorry, Really?, I had turned off my laptop and well, here are the tweets. First the link that the tumblr tweet links to:

    Jake in Iceland?

And so I don't know if that's where all of these tweets got their info, probably they did.

  11. There's all kinds of stuff floating out there right now. The gal that tweeted the Bear Grylls tweet sounds like she's in France so I don't know what is going on there.

I leave the investigation in the hands of my compadres as we are going to the excellent Wichita market very shortly.

Although, I will have my blth on me so if one was so inclined to callllllll and give a little jinnnngle since I missed this person last nighttttt...HINT HINT. lol

  14. So Iceland is the place where Jake is going to do something terrifying with Bear Grylls. An icy excursion to swim with some walruses maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well we know Iceland is not as icy as Greenland, and way more green than Greenland too. But don't tell that to the walruses up there.

OT: A couple of days ago a river otter turned up at Terminal E at Logan. Came up an estuary got on the tarmac, got past the planes and got to the International terminal. No bags though, guess he was just going to do carry-ons.

Walruses don't live in Icelandic waters.

  22. Walruses in IcelandApril 9, 2011 at 12:02 PM

There are walruses in Iceland you dunderhead.

Iceland, as an isolated island far from other land cannot be expected to have many wild terrestrial mammals, this is also the case. The only original land mammal to live there when the first settlers came was the arctic fox. Man has added deliberately and unintentionally to the number found today. The first one was probably the field mouse which is now found all over Iceland. Another is the Reindeer brought to the island in the 18th century. The most resent and annoying addition was the American Mink, which has since 1930 spread throughout the country with a dramatic effect on many seabird colonies. The marine mammals are on the other hand many and some very common, apart from the two native seal species which bear pups on the Iceland coast, all the other arctic seal species and the walrus can be considered common vagrants if not winter guests in the waters surrounding the island.

  24. It is highly unusual for walruses to visit Iceland due to the fact that the sea around the country does not freeze during the winter...

    http://icenews.is/index.php/2010/09/04/walrus-visits-iceland/

Walruses don't live in Icelandic waters and rarely drift ashore.

hmm. So let me get this right.

She leaves the NC on a 7 Day road trip in a gas-guzzling Audi station wagon (so she says) and no sooner arrives in L.A. and she's flying all the way across the States on a jetliner to Miami to go on a cruise ship that's going to use more fuel in one weekend than my 4 door did in 2010.

I'm wondering myself and have been wondering for a little while. Maybe ms. Soap has a little closet of her own going on.

  32. Hard to believe that Sidney Lumet only won an honorary Oscar. An incredible opus of work.

  33. Soapy also said that the end of her road trip was Las Vegas. I think she might have slipped on that one. We know she spends a lot of time there. Maybe that is her real home.

Huh? You expect her to go on a cruise surrounded by men? I'd love to hear what you'd have to say if she did that, lol. It's called having friends. Why would anything be up with that? Lots of us have friends of the same sex. Sad that that strikes you as unusual. I was surrounded by women last night when I got together with a group of friends. I guess in your little world that means I've got a "little closet" going on. You guys are unfreakingbelievable. Your hatred of her is embarrassing and misplaced. Why do you hate her for being a beard, but don't hate Austin for using one. Talk about a double standard.
