Turn around Bright Eyes

Even one of People's most beautiful gets the Photoshop'd.

Give some glow, touch up the hair, zap the little spots, smooth it all out , darken the shirt, lighten the background. (See anything else they tweaked?)
And when you think Jake's eye are sparkly enough, they up the sparkle factor.

But at Columbia ....

Congratulations to Austin who won MTV's Hollywood Crush Earth Day Green Hottie you want to hug a tree with.

Now Austin said he would would hug a tree naked if he won:
Wow if yall vote for me I will personally hug a tree naked with all of you!!! 22 Apr

MTV Hollywood Crush tweeted today : @ Since we're feeling generous, we'll also take a clothed tree-hugging photo. BUT JUST THIS ONCE. ;)
Wha??? Don't let him out of this. He wrote check, make him cash it.

That's not a tree, that's your producer.

....And it looks like Austin is all birthday'd out.

Or he's following his bliss.

The best thing we can all do is find something that we love. And do it to the max. You will inspire those around you. Follow Your Bliss. 24 Apr via Twitter for BlackBerry®

Wait is that naked tree hugging?

  1. Another solid weekend for Source Code.

It made $5,063,000 (Estimate) this past weekend. A drop of just $1.2 million from previous weekend box office. For a movie in it's fourth weekend with three new releases out and a holiday, that' pretty damn good. It remains in the Top Ten at the box office.

As of yesterday, it's made $44,664,000
    (estimate)domestically,and $63,264,000 worldwide.

^^^Everyone? Meet one of Jake's people.

Only one of Jake's people would have had that kind of access backstage within a couple of feet of Jake, Busy, & Co. And then look at the site this picture is put up on.

Doesn't matter. Since April 19, 2009, these are the sightings I've found, Some with her husband visible but enough of them without. Enough to make it more than unusual:

4/19/09 with Ice Maiden at Cockroachella
4/25/10 tweet sighting at Hollywood Farmers Market
    6/19/10 at Farmers Market
    8/15/10 Birdie's birthday party
10/29/10 Lunch with Busy and Birdie
1/10/11 at Farmers Market uploaded on youtube on 1/10
    1/16/11 Lunch
    1/18/11 Lunch
    2/27/11 Oscars 2011
    4/22/11 San Pedro CA

Then this quote from #thairin on Tumblr:

i complimented busy phillips on her sandals today at the farmers’ market. she is so stunningly beautiful. i’m serious, she’s drop dead gorgeous which is why i didn’t recognize her until we started talking to her. she’s at the market all the time with her family and jake gyllenhaal. once she laughed when thairin asked jake to be on drag race with rupaul. she’s silly.

she was wearing loefer randall sandals similar to these.

  4. The point is that Jake needs cover and he gets it from select friends and peers. Adam Latrine being another one; ol' Latrine is the go-to horndog buddy when PR needs to send Jake out on the town for a rousing boys' night out.

PR can get as tricky and cunning as they want, setting little traps and having tweets/FB sightings done to mislead. And I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. Just like early this morning when I said over on WFT2 that a couple of us had concluded that was not Austin in the yellow cap;; although I had never said that was definitely Austin. Never said that. I could see where it could be and it was pretty exciting there for awhile. But the puzzle piece was not meant to be and fair & square after a lot of internet studying, it did prove to not be Austin. meh. Win some, lose some.

Sometimes the paint sticks, sometimes not. We're in this for the long haul. PR is underestimating the talent, perseverance and stubbornness of some of the bloggers. It's trial & error. It's small victories and it's washouts. Again - sometimes the paint sticks, sometimes it doesn't.

Then there are those times when you get a masterpiece.

    Like Leadville.

And PR is still biting their hand over that one.

  17. Well now that explains why Austin was in NY. (Network Headquarters)

The network may want to get some insurance and get contracts signed IF they decide to keep OTH on air. Word is that Chad Michael Murrary is in talk to come back.

Well, here's something to think about - if Austin has a play or pay contract.

If he does and The CW DOESN'T pick up for a season 9 they would still have to pay him. (A probably a predetermined amount or a minimum number of episodes at his contracted salary) So maybe he is hedging his bets.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What does this show me? It shows me that Austin really does wear the pants in his & Jake's relationship.

LOL. Didn't you just say he was the one wearing disguises and sitting "20 rows back"? If this stuff is funny and entertaining, it's one thing, but if you're seriously bothered by any of this crap, there's a problem. If you honestly think Jake's PR people are interacting with you here, you need a huge reality check.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If they've signed them for another year, then I think they're pretty sure there will be another season--with the Up Fronts in a couple of weeks, they've probably made decisions already.

TV By the Numbers has been predicting for a long time now that OTH will be renewed, and saying that they don't think CW wants to have more than a couple of new shows in their lineup . They've already canceled two others on CW.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Finally got a chance to watch the episode Austin directed last week. Yikes, those flashbacks were all horrendous, I had to keep fast-forwading through them--too much sap, and felt like filler.

I felt like there wasn't really enough there to judge the directing. What was there seemed fine, but unfortunately this season OTH is a show that doesn't seem to have one wit of originality.

And what is going on with Austin's hair? It does not look good long and plastered to his head.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oops, one more thing: I guess Austin wants the regular pay check, and maybe he'll get more chances to direct, but honestly, I can't see being so many years on a show like OTH as doing anything for his career, especially with the steep decline in quality I've seen in just the few years I've been watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, Soapy has signed up too. OTH centers around Soapy so you can see her wanting to maintain who adoring, unquestioning fanbase. However, Austin is stagnated in this role that is neither challenging nor career expanding.

By signing up for this dead end commitment again, it looks like he wants to play it safe for the foreseeable future. Trying to miminimize changes in his life and maintain as much stability as possible. Doesn't sound like a single, career driven guy to me. He seems like a sensible person who has no doubt weighed the advantages and disadvantages of this decision. I agree, Destiny. His announcement tells me they already know the show is returning.

With that said, has Toothy Tile ever had a fauxmance with Priscilla Desert?

Trying to miminimize changes in his life and maintain as much stability as possible. Doesn't sound like a single, career driven guy to me.

What it sounds like is an actor looking for a steady paycheque in a profession where stability is pretty much nil. And as Tom said, they have nothing else.

    ReplyDelete
  26. There has not been a Toothy mention in quite some time. Another Jake confirmation, I see. Priscilla is known to be Swift.

As for Austin signing on for another OTH, that makes me really sad. I can't fault anyone for needing a paycheck. I need mine and am putting up with some crap myself, but it means he did not get any decent offers from anyone else. That's too bad because Austin has shown he can act. I think OTH hurts his chances to get other acting work since its so trivial and his role there is so whipped. I hope his new contract requires some directing time. That may make it worth the while. He needs some experience under his belt to get more directing opportunities.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I feel 100 percent the same way you do M.

The thing that doesn't make sense is if Austin is still with Jake, why would Austin need a paycheck instead of taking a risk on finding something better, unless he is getting the chance to build up some directing credits.

I don't know what the ratings are when they add in DVR watching, but last week's episode only got 1.4 million viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  28. What it sounds like is an actor looking for a steady paycheque in a profession where stability is pretty much nil

True, but then no career is nowadays, is it? All one has to do is read the newspaper and look around them to confirm that sad reality. Still 31 is the age for someone like Austin to make a move, choose a different path, gain some new experiences, build more connections. Instead he chose the safe, conservative and cautionary route that allows him to maintain the status quo. Sort of like someone who has more responsibilities than just himself.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Actually he sounds like millions of other Americans who don't love their job but decide to hang on because there's really nothing else out there.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Jake is doing EoW for next to nothing if the total budget is 5 million. He maybe only taking scale. He also took a cut to do LaOD.

And why can't two people in a relationship contribute, most are two income families even if that family consists of a couple. Why does it have to look like they are living off of Jake's money to mean that they're in a relationship?

People want that feeling of self reliance and worth and pride that comes from earning a paycheck. Contributing to the family.

Why can't Austin be the main bread winner for a bit so Jake can some projects he might want to act in or develop?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Contributing to the family.

^Nanny's are not parents. And they can afford to have one not work.

Not that the BTs are real anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Austin could also do like milions of Americans and go back to college during an economic downturn. He says he's interested in cinematography and directing and UCLA is right next door. If he were single, with do other considerations than himself, that kind of decision making would make more sense than returning to a dead end job. After all, he's not getting any younger. Sorry Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Not that the BTs are real anyway.

Then again maybe they are. The timing of the bearding back in 2007 and all the other subsequent clues, which are many, confirm that for me. [And no, I'm not playing the "What Clues?" game with you. Read the blog over the past 3 years and you will see them, if you are interested.] Also, PrarieGirl, I think children is what explains Jake's enamored "attachment" to Busy. Whether the troll likes it or not, I believe their children are playmates...probably go to preschool together. Jake staying in the closet like he's doing is more than just about "the gay". Jake and Austin are staying in the closet because they have a family. Otherwise, they would both be in fake marriages like Orlando Bloom or Matthew McConaughey by now. That's the way to truly fit in and play the game, in Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Having children is an expensive proposition, never mind the added expenses related to surrogacy births. Could explain why Austin kept the OTH gig.

Speaking of which... have you seen the RRT bit in Rolling Stone currently all over twitter? Jake jumped on the tour in San Pedro on a whim without even a change of clothes. I don't know one single parent of a child, let alone children, who would or could do such a thing.

  38. Jake jumped on the tour in San Pedro on a whim

And, Jake just happens to do this over the weekend of Austin's birthday, plus he's never done anything like this before? Those two facts alone tell me that's the cover story. Jake is a liar. Austin is a liar. So are their people. That is one of the casualities of being in the closet...the truth.

Looks like you fell for it though. Or, are you the one who helped to craft the story?

  39. Seems to me if one is so concerned about the economy, watching the money flow and earning a steady paycheck, one might think twice about a 12-day excursion all the way to Indonesia. That doesn't sound to me like someone who's worried about money.

  40. Talk about overkillApril 26, 2011 at 2:48 PM

Oh, and David M is on board so Jake has another reason to hang around ;)

Of course, he is. After all, Davey boy is Jake's bestest friend in the whole wide world. Even, of course, we really never heard about him being Jake's best friend until 2010 when Jake was beardless.

I hope that statement is dripping with sarcasm.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't believe anyone said Austin was worried about money. Someone mentioned that he probably signed up for another season of OTH because of his family commitments and responsibilities. Contributing to the household income would be one of those obligations.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Even, of course, we really never heard about him being Jake's best friend until 2010 when Jake was beardless.

True, but we all saw him sitting next to Jake in 2006 at the BAFTA's (and holding Jakey's umbrella on the red carpet). What a great best pal David is ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  43. Or, are you the one who helped to craft the story?

Sorry to burst your tenuous bubble, but there are pics of David and Jake, so there is no "story". Pity there are no pics of J&A. Or do you still think Austin was hiding wearing his sekryt spai disguise. LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. The very fact that this Revival story keeps evolving (now with Jake doing it on a whim so it doesn't look like it was preplanned to coincide with Austin's birthday) tells me all I need to know.

I was wondering when go to, preapproved heterosexual dude, David Modgliani, would show up. You never disappoint Jake. I think PR is a bit concerned that we knew all about Austin's love of the city of Marfa and that it looked awfully odd for old Lance to travel 400 miles when he could have waited two days to see the same concert. Thanks for reconfirming that the guys are still together, even more apparently than before.

We never heard about David being Jake's best buddy until 2010. Prior to that, he was just another friend. Jake has lots of male friends...if you know what I mean?

  46. True, but we all saw him sitting next to Jake in 2006 at the BAFTA's (and holding Jakey's umbrella on the red carpet). What a great best pal David is

True. Thanks for making my point, once again. Jake attended several events during 2006 with other "friends." Conspicuously, missing, however, was his actual best bud, Austin, who has been in his life since 2002. You know the guy he showed up with at the Lakers basketball game on February 11, 2006? The one he couldn't help touching and making googly eyes with all night? Jake leaves the menial labor (like holding umbrellas) to his platonic friends.

Look at ALL the effort they went to to be together on Austin's birthday. AWWW.

  50. Conspicuously, missing, however, was his actual best bud, Austin, who has been in his life since 2002.

^ LOL! Jake knows Chris and David from his childhood. 2002 is like yesterday compared to that.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think PR is a bit concerned that we knew all about Austin's love of the city of Marfa

What does that have to do with anything? The only people that know about Austin and Marfa are a handful of OMGers. Do you really believe PR is worried about you? You're a small fairly silent group. Now what about Tempe where Jake was the night before? What's the spin there? What's the spin on Jake attending the Austin City Limits taping last night? Anything?

  52. don't forget the OTH fansApril 26, 2011 at 4:05 PM

Austin did an interview about OTH when he mentioned Marfa.

  53. And why can't two people in a relationship contribute, most are two income families even if that family consists of a couple. Why does it have to look like they are living off of Jake's money to mean that they're in a relationship?

That wasn't what I was trying to say, so let me try again.

If all Austin cares about is making money and as you say, Special, contributing to the household, then yes, I can see why he'd just carry on with OTH. Steady work and good pay is indeed rare in HW.

But if he cares about growing as an artist, and having a better career, then I think there is a real downside to doing OTH. The ratings keep slipping. The writing has gone downhill, and that's saying a lot for a show that was just so-so to begin with. Among other things, it has lost its sense of humor and takes itself entirely too seriously.

Finally, and most importantly, Austin has become nothing more than a shoulder for Brooke Davis to cry on, and to look sympathetic and supportive when she needs it. Like the other male characters in the show, he doesn't have much to do, and is basically sleepwalking his way through his role. Not exactly the best advertisement for an actor.

Now, if he thinks for some reason he can't get better work, well, then I guess he is giving up on himself as an actor.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Couple of other points.

Jake made what, $8 to $10 million for POP? And $3 million for Jarhead. I recently saw a movie article that mentioned the minimum for a movie lead, I believe it was around $70,000, and I'm sure that even at reduced rates he made a lot more than that for LAOD and SC. My guess for those would be closer to a $1 million, based on the budgets for those films. Jake has already made more money at the age of 30 than what, 90 percent of the country will make in their entire lifetime? You really think that if Jake and Austin are together that they couldn't afford for Austin to take on smaller, less steady projects?

Believe me, I know the importance of wanting to earn your own way, be independent, contribute to the household. But I also know that it is important for artists in particular to grow, and to do work that has some value, even if it is just mindless and entertaining (well, OTH gets the mindless part, at least).
